The Westin Sarasota

This is a fantastic, well appointed property with an unbeatable rooftop pool and bar. The only downside is getting in and out of the valet parking line during a busy weekend. It's not a staff issue, but rather the configuration of the entry/parking area.

Great stay! They have a complimentary shuttle that will take you to Lido Beach and the surrounding areas.

The Westin Spa was exceptional in the services offered.

Check in was quick, easy and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool with bar & restaurant had a nice vibe. They also offered free rides around town but you didn't really need it to get to local restaurants and bars. There were many within a 10 minute walk.

Beautiful property! We had a great stay. It felt very clean, & staff were very accommodating to our needs & requests. The only thing is that no where on the site does it list that they will charge $50 overnight for parking. This would have been nice to know prior as we probably wouldn’t have rented a car, and Uber-Ed everywhere instead. However for future guests that are capable of walking; we found a parking garage that was within walking distance & only $1/an hour .. make sure you check it out

The hotel itself is stellar, as all Westin hotels are. Be warned that the only option for parking is valet and it’s $47 per day. Public parking is available but 10-15 minute walk, mot ideal.

The rooftop pool and bar was a very nice touch to look over Sarasota bay

Excellent staff, close to downtown, cleanliness is on point!

Expensive hotel and poor customer service in all my stay, since the room I found dirty wipes in the floor, marijuana smelling in the balcony even that we be in 14th floor, screen TV it was out the Friday night, the bottles in the bath shower came out and takes more than 1 hour to fixed, the very worst experience was in valet parking service, never the text message wotk during our stay, si pretty much I will never bee there again.

Very basic hotel that is extremely overpriced - should not be anywhere near the same price as the Ritz across the street. Staff is lovely but the property itself is average. Bathroom is clean but not spotless, carpet has a bit of an odor due to the humidity, clear signs of wear on restaurant furniture, etc. Definitely not a super nice stay.

The carpet in the room was wet and smelled. We also found a towel in the bathroom that had yellow pee on it and immediately checked our as a result of this.

Shower towel too dirty

Staff was extremely rude. The room was filthy dirty. Hair in the bed. Bugs crawling around.

This hotel is not clean. When I got into my room the sheets were dirty and stains. I called housekeeping to have them come change for the sheets and they said they would send somebody ASAP. 30 minutes went by and no one came up so I called again and they again said someone would be up ASAP. Another 30 minutes go by and still nothing. I called a third time and asked if they could drop off the sheets and I would charge for them myself. Five minutes later housekeeping came and dropped the sheets off for me to change my self. Cheez its found in the ground. Bottle caps all over balcony. Hair left on bottom of shower and bed sheets. Stains in bathroom wall and back of wall on tv. Dirty room service menu. Finger prints all over mirrors and windows. Air conditioner broken. Horrible stay for a four star hotel. Will not be back. Advised to never stay here!!

Hotel was great. Staff was awesome and room and amenities were clean.

We had a great time. It was a beautiful property however we had a little bit of backup issue in our sink. Also, our room was a little small for a five day stay! However, beautiful property great staff we would come back

The suite I stayed in was very nice and clean. I had two issues, one minor and one larger. The minor was I asked for something and they forgot, not a big deal. The major was that I could not get the room cold enough to feel comfortable sleeping. I had it set at 63deg. F for 4 days straight but wasn't close to that. I didn't have a thermometer but i would guess the best it got was around 71 deg. which is comfortable for watching TV but not for sleeping for me at least. Since sleep is why one gets a hotel room it's sort of a big deal in my opinion.

Problems started at check-in. The room type we reserved was not available. We paid for a harbor view balcony room but were given a harbor view room with no balcony. There was no adjustment, since we paid with Expedia. Our window leaked during a heavy rain. This left the carpet soaked. We called down three times to report this. Each time I was told that Maintenace would be there shortly. They did not come until late the next day. All they did was put down a towel. The room had a musty smell for the rest of our stay. We were not offered another room or any other accommodation. We prepaid, so we were stuck. Very bad experience.

Had a good stay here— rooms could stand to be deep cleaned and updated, they felt quite stale and dated. For the price, you could easily find a hotel with more modern amenities. The major bonus here was the rooftop pool and bar with amazing views.

My room was upgraded to a city view without any additional cost.

Staff was excellent. Comfortable room with great views. Good Breakfast with plenty of options. The only bad thing is that they make you wait every day to assigned you a table at the restaurant even when there are empty tables!

Pillows are huge! Ask for a different one. Befs are very soft. They need replacing.

Great service and ataff. Unfortunately, you can get the same experience at a Marriott when it comes to the quality of the actual room. Additionally, the balcony I paid for ended up being about a foot of space outside a door. That's right, I paid to upgrade to a balcony and got a curb. If you want a balcony, go somewhere else.

The hostess was talking to a guy about music while we waited to check inn he took forever until I asked him if there was someone else to check inn so he said he is by him self and to wait he continued to talk about music nothing related to the check inn so rude

Staff couldn’t be better. Overly helpful and gracious- going it off their way to assist. And all of them always happy and pleasant. The ONLY noticeable less than ideal feature(s) is the entrance- looks like a service entrance and hard to find…and the lobby bar set up. It’s a small bar for the size of the hotel, it’s not really separated from the lobby and the seating is not ideal. But it works and not a reason to not come back. Overall really lovely experience!!!!

I absolutely had the greatest time staying here at the Westin Sarasota! From the time I walked in the hotel to the night at the bar in the lobby to go on the free shuttle it’s absolutely been the best time. I recommend anybody to come back and stay at this particular property. The front staff was amazing, especially Valeria Garcia, Nikki, Glenn family, and George at the bar. Everybody was absolutely fabulous will be back again.

Staff was wonderful

Was informed the day of our check-in that no rooms were available and they could not honor our reservation even though I had fully paid in advance. Were sent to another inferior property and charged a $30 "resort fee" for amenities that were already closed by the time we checked in. That and a $45 mandatory valet parking fee really ruined what was supposed to be my wife's birthday celebration.

No bellhops - you have to push your own luggage. "Cleaning" the rooms meant pulling the bedspread up on the bed and just leaving towels - the bathrooms were only cleaned once in 4 days despite leaving tips for housekeepers and telling supervisors about the issues. Room service was accurate and quick - and the best service in the hotel.

The staff from the valet parking, check-in and daily housekeeping were kind and helpful.

Our experience at this hotel was exceptional from beginning to end. The property is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and offers a spectacular pool with a bar boasting stunning views. The à la carte breakfast was delicious and served with great care, and our room was always stocked with fresh, clean towels daily. Parking is valet only, and it is $50 per night (not $40 as stated on the Expedia listing). What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality—especially from María Henderson, whose warm welcome and attention to detail made us feel at home from day one. This hotel is a true gem and we highly recommend it.

I love the Westin chain. Almost always an excellent stay at any location. This is a very nice facility but had a major issue with their staff. My gf showed up earlier than myself and she put down her credit card. When I showed up I had them add my card and told them to charge my card. They said "all set". The hotel billed my gf anyway. When we called them they admitted they had my card on file but basically wanted us to jump thru a bunch of hoops to actually have them change over the billing. I was honestly pretty shocked not only as the lack of effort to make up for their mistake but the person we spoke to was also very short with us. Not at all what I have come to expect from Westin.

I had high hopes for our stay at The Westin Sarasota, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. Valet Service: Our first night set a negative tone for our visit. The valet service parked our car in the middle of the roundabout, and another guest accidentally crashed into it while pulling out. Instead of providing any support or reassurance, the valet simply handed us the keys and pointed out who hit us. This lack of accountability and empathy was truly disheartening. Check-In Process: The check-in process was frustratingly slow. We waited nearly 15 minutes before being acknowledged by the front desk clerk. This delay was not the warm welcome we anticipated.**Breakfast Service: The service during breakfast on our second day was lackluster. The waitress seemed uninterested and unwelcoming, which detracted from our dining experience.**Pool and View: We were also disappointed by the pool area. Instead of a great view, we were met with a big white wall. Despite paying for a bay view room, we only saw a sliver of the bay between buildings.Gym and Dining: The gym was decent and clean, which was a small positive. However, the food and drinks were average at best and did not stand out. Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay. We had looked forward to staying at The Westin Sarasota for a long time and expected a more welcoming and comforting experience. Sadly, it felt more like a two-star hotel. I really wanted to say our stay was amazing but I cannot.

I would not stay in a downtown hotel in Sarasota again. There was really nothing to do. Of course Lido Beach and St Armand’s Circle were near but not within walking distance. I would have liked to get up in the morning and walk somewhere. I also didn’t like paying $50/day parking but there was no choice. Downtown is congested with traffic. I also didn’t like not even getting a free cup of morning coffee.

We enjoyed our stay at the Westin Sarasota. It is centrally located & the surrounding area is very walkable. Angela who checked us in was lovely, welcoming and super helpful. They had a shuttle that took us to and from St. Armand´s Circle, the Lido Beach and other points of interest which was very convenient. We also really enjoyed our breakfasts at Evoq, the restaurant on site.

Beautiful hotel conveniently located in downtown Sarasota within walking distance of shops dining and art district. Parking is not ideal as options are either waiting for valet only on property or walking a short distance to a city parking garage. Rooftop bar and pool has a cool vibe, and there is a nice restaurant on main floor as well.

Beautiful Hotel and of course their "heavenly bed" was as comfortable as they advertised. Minutes from the airport and centrally located to St. Armands Circle which features boutique shopping and wonderful dining options which offer both indoor and outdoor dining options.

Hotel was clean and modern with a nice rooftop pool and lounge area. Also it was nice to be able to walk to downtown.

Excellent service, the breakfast is outstanding. Complements to the chefs, the Grill Grapefruit is unique and exquisite!

Everything was amazing, some dishes on the room service menu were horrendous. And I spent over $200 trying new stuff on their menu. Overall 9/10 stay!

Very good service and decent food in the breakfast restaurant. They have a beautiful rooftop restaurant/bar but really need to step up the menu options up there. Such a great spot why not have a great menu versus basically a snack menu. We were there during spring break and three elevators for 19 floors made for some waiting. Overall a decent place, but could be great if they improved the roof top menu (can’t really change the lack of elevators)

The property is in a great location, easy access to the Marina and surroundings. Only element I did not like was their breakfast... very plain. I had to go out to breakfast given their limited menu both days.
