The Quisby

The cleanliness exceeded my expectations, and the room was well equipped, even an iron and ironing board. The HVAC was a little noisy. I was very happy with the communication about my check-in. I alerted the staff that my train was getting in after 9pm. They provided the information I needed to check-in and I didn't expect to see anybody, but there was a staff person there to help me anyway.

Rooms small and no sitting chair(s) other than a hard desk chair. Platform bed was very low and might be difficult for older folks to get up and out of bed. Free breakfast had numerous choices which was good. Parking fro Hotel is limited to on street or in the lot attached to Popeye's fast food restaurant next door.

Good place just wish they had parking

I wouldn’t recommend staying at The Quisby. We arrived right at check in at 3 pm and was told that our room wasn’t ready yet, which was fine! However, it was estimated to be ready in 15-20 min yet we waited over an hour with no apology/explanation. Once we got up to our room, we turned back the sheets to get into the bed, and there was hair that wasn’t ours all over the sheets. We had to go back down to the front desk to get it taken care of, which thankfully Devin in housekeeping was nice and took care of it. The room was mostly fine otherwise, except for the shower tile being kind of grimy and the thinnest walls I’ve ever experienced. We could hear every small movement and normal voice level conversation from the entire floor. There is free street parking nearby, which was a plus, and they did offer a small complimentary breakfast. This is definitely a very basic/no frills stay, which we tolerated for 2 nights, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

So convenient to the St. Charles Ave streetcar. I was cautious when they said there was ample street parking, but there was, and it was safe parking. Near good restaurants.. Breakfast would be improved with items like hard-boiled eggs and bananas. AC was good. We had a nice 3 day visit.
