The Maple Manor Hotel is a convenient base near Gatwick Airport, praised for friendly staff, comfortable beds, and generally clean, characterful rooms, though size and temperature vary and light sleepers may notice early-morning aircraft and internal noise from thin walls.

The receptionist that checked me in and the one that checked me out were lovely. But the evening receptionist obviously would rather chat on the phone that help. It was ridiculously hot in the room, given it was one of the hottest days of the year it’s not surprising. But I was shocked to see the room where all the windows were wide open and letting in the 38degree heat. There was a fan, which only half worked and when I went down to ask for a bowl and water to cool things down I was met with ironically, a frosty reception (could have done with that in my room). I can imagine the hotel would be nice in the winter but it’s not suitable for hot nights. The TV was archaic and I couldn’t even read the numbers on the remote as it was so old. The reception for the TV was sporadic at best. I had high hopes for this hotel but unfortunately, it let me down. I was only given my VIP drink after asking, which didn’t make me feel like a VIP at all

The staff were friendly and polite throughout my stay. The hotel was shabby and fairly run down, with loose electrical sockets and bedside spotlights not functional. The bathroom's toilet brush was heavily soiled, but I was particularly disappointed that the 'bathroom' did not contain a bath, having been described as having one and, indeed, the associated images showing a bath. I would not have booked the hotel or room had this been truthfully conveyed. The room's 'blackout' curtains were also no such thing, and there was no chair in the room, which was also suggested in the images. There was also no restaurant, which I was informed about only after booking, and insufficient soundproofing for the airport on the opposite side of the road.

Maple Manor was the perfect stay. All staff were extremely courteous, and very accommodating. Although the hotel is not served by LGW shuttle buses, reception staff called for a safe and reliable taxi on my behalf, and £20 later I was at the north terminal. Incidentally, £10 of the $20 fee was for airport drop off!! Anyways, as frequent flyer, yes definitely, I will be staying at the Maple Manor Hotel in future. Thank you all for my wonderful stay 😀👍👍
