We arrived at 2am...the security guard was just standing there telling me use my card when clearly we had bags in hand and had not checked in after an extremely long day of bad weather and traveling. Then when we check in, we were just given the card and the room number. Had to ask which floor...with the assumption we already knew. Then when we got in the elevator, we pressed the button several times not knowing we had to use the room key to get to a floor. The security guard sarcastically told us and another person who didn't know that we had to use the card....knowing we were tired, upset, and echausted from the trip telling me to "think about why it wasn't working" with the implication that I was dumb. Wasn't exactly customer service. It was extremely hot on the floor, the blast of heat hits you in the face as soon as you come off the elevator. We were charged $2.00 for a cup of ice when there is ice on the floor for free. Then your site mentions no parking. I asked if there was a place where parking was for the hotel upon arrival and they said across the street is good. upon checkout I found that there is parking associated with the hotel....I paid an extra $155 for parking that wasn't associated and was told to go to Homewood Suites next door to see if they would give me a discount. All in all I chop it up to a New York State of Mind.

Everything was perfect! This was the best hotel ever! I love how secured & safe I felt. You can’t even get on the elevator without having a room key. This hotel was a 10/10 the balcony was amazing. The staff was also great! & had the best customer, they made you feel welcomed. The only thing I dislike was the parking. This hotel too high class not to have hotel parking. But other than that the experience of the hotel was perfect. The food near by was spot on as well. I had the perfect visit.

Really liked this hotel: clean well kept room, very comfortable bed, fast elevators, friendly and accommodating staff, good restaurant, and a water bottle filling station in the basement by the gym. The only negative is the large amount of homeless people on this street; our first day one homeless person aggressively demanded money for food. We stayed 7 nights and really enjoyed this hotel.

Onsite restaurant was very nice feature. All staff was amazing. Very walkable to everything. Central Park was a little hike, but doable. Felt very safe. Parking is 1 minute walk and is $60 a day.

I love how at a certain time doors are locked and the only way in is with your room key. I felt extra safe with the kind of security system they have. The restaurant inside is worth the price they give good portions. The staff overall is nice and friendly and it's clean. I would definitely stay next time I come to NYC. I would recommend. If your traveling through Greyhound or peterpan it's a few min walk from the Port authority which I loved. I didn't have to take an Uber or Lyft. Had an amazing experience for my birthday weekend! I'll be back for sure.

This property was very quiet. I liked the fact that you have to key in after certain evening hours and security is on the property. I felt very safe. It was walkable to Times Square and to catch the train to NJ. Very convenient.

The hotel is not new, but it is clean, the bed is clean, the bed is comfortable. The room has everything you need: a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee machine, an iron, a hair dryer. It is noisy outside even at night, but this is Manhattan. Overall, everything is fine, the only thing I didn't like was the smell in the room, maybe it's from the old carpet. You need to open the window to air it out. I liked that after checkout you can leave your luggage until the end of the day.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during our trip to New York. The staff were exceptionally polite, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. This hotel is ok for an over night stay that’s it! I definitely don’t recommend anything over one night. Room wasn’t the cleanest hair on sheets and in the bathroom. Room is small. My refrigerator didn’t work. Maintenance came the next day and fixed it. Stranglers hangs on the outside of hotel didn’t feel safe walking.

Overall location is great. Had trouble with heater in our room- we would turn heat on and then air conditioner would turn on. We set thermostat for 70 and room was 63 when we woke up. Other than thermostat everything else was very good

Very friendly staff and nice rooms. The only thing to watch out for is that the refrigerators are REALLY small, only large enough to fit 4 bottles of water into. If you can live with that, then I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing hotel - I usually don’t stay at chain hotels in NYC, but will be back. Clean and safe inside. Also, quiet and relatively large for a king room in NY. Only downside was some homeless people on the street. I don’t blame the hotel but something has got to give because you don’t see them on the UES or in more affluent neighborhoods.

I had booked a room at the Garden Inn through Hotels.com. I'm a Hilton Honors member and regularly stay at Hilton's in and around midtown when I'm for business. On Tuesday of this week, I had only one credit card with me, an American Express, with which I had booked the trip and is and was a working credit card. At the site, the hotel's credit card reader would not permit the card to tap but instead required insertion of the card, which it could not read. Notably, at restaurants and the hotel I ultimately stayed at, the card was read. The Hilton representative told me that I could not stay at the hotel and that there was no other way to read my credit card. There was no site manager available either in person or by phone to discuss the problem. I had to then spend two hours trying to find a room in midtown when the city was packed, as it so usually is in October. I booked with Hilton well in advance of my trip. The representative at the site was friendly and polite but completely unable to help a Hilton member by trying to find a way to get the valid credit card on record. That was extremely disappointing. I was supposed to be working when I had to find, travel to, and check in at another hotel.

Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn- Times Square South was excellent! Every staff member we encountered- from the front office desk to the cleaning staff- were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The front desk was very helpful and the rooms nice and clean. We would definitely stay here again if we’re ever back in New York City.

The Night shift lady was hell Rude. Highly Not recommended for International travelers. They don't care for you. Everytime rude if we ask for help, she just ignored me. If the property owner or high authorities looking my review, please not to allow her to stay in night hell rude that lady, I don't know her name but I will never ever stay here again. From the moment I arrived the staff was amazing! Li-Anna, Rosanna, Brenda were the best! They talked to me, told me where everything was. Allowed me to ask them questions. I travel to New York City once a year and for the last 10 years I stayed at various Hotels in the city. This was the best Hotel because of the staff! The Housekeeping Staff are all nice and talked to me. Security Staff are always there to answer any questions and assist! This was the best stay I have ever had since coming to New York City for the last 10 years! Li-Anna, Rosanna and Brenda they are the best!!!!!

I’d like to mention David and Brenda. David was a wonderful host welcoming me to the property. He is gracious and courteous and sets the example for front facing staff. He was accommodating as I asked him for dining options and he took his time to recommend exactly as I asked. My date knows NYC better than I, so it was a pleasant surprise to take her somewhere she hadn’t been and enjoyed! If you have new staff they should shadow him to understand more about luxury service. Brenda was excellent during my checkout. Polite and kind and conversation was not transactional which is not the case for many hotels. You should celebrate these little moments with these all stars because they impact the guest experience in such a positive way that created a memory for me that I won’t forget. Way to go David and Brenda!

Good sized rooms compared to some other more expensive hotels in midtown Manhattan. Excellent location - central to everything. However, the sidewalk near the hotel had a lot of homeless people living there and it felt unsafe walking past them.

The staff was very personable, friendly and helpful. I wish I would have been informed upon arrival about the discounted rates given when using UBER to move about Manhatten. I did use this when we departed for JKF and saved over 25 dollars so thank you for that. The elevators are fast and efficient. The attached restaurant left alot to be desired, we dined there on the 13th and the service was sub par. the Food was good. I wish the property offered and provided a breakfast option where you pay addtional per person and are provided a buffet style breakfast along with coffee, tea juices etc.
