This property exceeded my expectations and their photos do not do it justice! We realized we were booking a more budget hotel, but the property and service was incredible. Rooms were very basic but comfortable beds and great AC. There is very minimal storage in the room but we brought a few hooks and it was fine. The pools are gorgeous but the hot tubs could be warmer. Restaurant was so good, I loved the grilled chicken and guaro sours were the best we had in Costa Rica. We noticed a tour place right next store but had already booked our tours through another company. Property is just on the outskirts of town, could be walkable depending on if you are ok walking 10 minutes or so. El Salto is a free swimming hole with a rope swing and maybe a 3 minute walk. My only recommendation is to make the lobby more visible. We arrived at night and had a hard time finding it since there wasn’t a sign. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be back!!!

Grounds are way more beautiful and lush than the pictures show. Pool area has cool and warm and hot pools. AC in the room was nice and cold. Excellent water pressure and hot water in the shower. Front desk helped us contact the rafting and chocolate activities we did. Location is 5 minute walk from the El Salto rope swing. A few minutes driving to get to the center of La Fortuna. Close to everything but just off the main road so very quiet - you don't hear any traffic - just the birdsong. There is also a rushing waterfall and river on the back of the property that made a beautiful soothing background noise. There is no closet/hangers or way to hang up wet things (or towels) unless you bring your own hooks/clothesline, which we did. Brought simple plastic over-the-door hooks which were lifesavers. Put the clothesline outside but nothing really dries unless it is in the direct blazing sun or inside away from the humidity.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und war sehr sauber. Leider war in einem der kleinen Jacuzzis kein Wasser und dke Poolbar war nicht besetzt, wir hätten gerne ein paar Cocktails im Pool getrunken. Beim Frühstück konnte man sich entscheiden zwischen Traditionell, Amerikanisch oder Pancakes. Das fanden wir etwas schade, da wir gerne auch Grüchte zum Frühstück gehabt hätten aber keine Pancakes wollten. Ansonsten waren auch alle Mitarbeiter sehr nett und sprachen super englisch.

We loved how clean and well kept the property was. We noticed they drained and cleaned the pool twice in our 7 day stay which is amazing. Beautiful lush tropical grounds. Kids loved the pool, hot tubs and easy walk to the rope swing. In a quiet area away from town, but a bit far if you don't have a car. Sometimes it felt like we were the only guests there. Good value, especially with breakfast included.

I got the two bedroom and our rental smelled moldy and the wall had black mold. I told them about it but we didn’t have a choice because they said they had no more rooms available. Also, at check-in they put a $100 hold for deposit and said it would be released at check out time. They never released it, I called several times. I got the runaround for three days and kept telling me that I would get a call back and that they did not know why it wasn’t returned. I never got a call back. I had to dispute the transaction with my bank.

This Hotel was lovely! The tropical property was lushly landscaped and well-maintained. The restaurant area was open-air, service was efficient, and the food was good! Breakfast was enjoyed by the whole family. We also utilized the pool and admired the wildlife. The room was spotless and huge. Staff was very nice and let us store luggage on our last day and have late check out. We took Ubers to town and activities and they were readily available and reasonably priced. El Salto rope swing was nearby, which my boys loved. Overall It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay and it was a fantastic value. Recommend!

Nice garden and pool. The room was not good. It was too small for four people. The wifi did not reach the room, there was no hooks, wardrobe, shelves or any place to hang wet towels and clothes. We had to have all our packing hanging on doors and the rooms only chair. Bad lighting and too firm beds. The AC was good. We asked if we could change to another room twice but the staff never came back to us with an answer.

Our casita was like a duplex casita whereby we could hear our immediate neighbors snoring, coughing, and talking because of thin walls. There was no doorknob on our door, where the key was required to either open or close/lock the door. In the casita there were no face cloths or dish cloths even though there is a kitchenette. On the showerhead there was an electrical wire going to the showerhead with exposed wires, so we did not have a shower. The grounds, pool and restaurant were all well maintained and the staff were very friendly.

Nice family owned hotel with good facilities. Good pool area and restaurants prices are good. Breakfast is quite boring, three courses to choose from. Rooms are very basic, a bit worn down. The surroundings are nice, the garden very green and has view to the volcano. Service in the reception was excellent, wonderful female receptionist.

If you book a room with multiple beds, you’re going to be put in one of the funky units at the top of the property, away from everything else. The room we stayed in could only be locked with a deabolt using the key and the renovation job wasn’t great. These are not the rooms shown on the website and we heard loud bangs outside our room every night around 10pm. Sounded like gunshots but not sure. Pool was pretty nice, small and shallow grotto-style that our little one could stand up in. Staff was nice.

The place is really good. I love it. The receptionist is very friendly and kind.Congratulations! The breakfast was good although the bread is missing in the dish for complete the typical gallo pinto. I do not like the costume service of Jeidy Porras I think he is the owner’s son, when we requested additional towel and blanket he was not nice and complaint too much about our request. He needs more costumer service training.

Nice garden and pool. The room was not good. It was too small for four people. The wifi did not reach the room, there was no hooks, wardrobe, shelves or any place to hang wet towels and clothes. We had to have all our packing hanging on doors and the rooms only chair. Bad lighting and too firm beds. The AC was good. We asked if we could change to another room twice but the staff never came back to us with an answer.

I got the two bedroom and our rental smelled moldy and the wall had black mold. I told them about it but we didn’t have a choice because they said they had no more rooms available. Also, at check-in they put a $100 hold for deposit and said it would be released at check out time. They never released it, I called several times. I got the runaround for three days and kept telling me that I would get a call back and that they did not know why it wasn’t returned. I never got a call back. I had to dispute the transaction with my bank.

Front desk helped us contact the rafting and chocolate activities we did. Location is 5 minute walk from the El Salto rope swing. A few minutes driving to get to the center of La Fortuna. Close to everything but just off the main road so very quiet - you don't hear any traffic - just the birdsong. There is also a rushing waterfall and river on the back of the property that made a beautiful soothing background noise. There is no closet/hangers or way to hang up wet things (or towels) unless you bring your own hooks/clothesline, which we did. Brought simple plastic over-the-door hooks which were lifesavers. This Hotel was lovely! The tropical property was lushly landscaped and well-maintained. The restaurant area was open-air, service was efficient, and the food was good! Breakfast was enjoyed by the whole family. We also utilized the pool and admired the wildlife. The room was spotless and huge. Staff was very nice and let us store luggage on our last day and have late check out. We took Ubers to town and activities and they were readily available and reasonably priced. El Salto rope swing was nearby, which my boys loved. Overall It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay and it was a fantastic value. Recommend!

This property exceeded my expectations and their photos do not do it justice! We realized we were booking a more budget hotel, but the property and service was incredible. Rooms were very basic but comfortable beds and great AC. There is very minimal storage in the room but we brought a few hooks and it was fine. The pools are gorgeous but the hot tubs could be warmer. Restaurant was so good, I loved the grilled chicken and guaro sours were the best we had in Costa Rica. We noticed a tour place right next store but had already booked our tours through another company. Property is just on the outskirts of town, could be walkable depending on if you are ok walking 10 minutes or so. El Salto is a free swimming hole with a rope swing and maybe a 3 minute walk. My only recommendation is to make the lobby more visible. We arrived at night and had a hard time finding it since there wasn’t a sign. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely be back!!!

Beautiful lush tropical grounds. Kids loved the pool, hot tubs and easy walk to the rope swing. In a quiet area away from town, but a bit far if you don't have a car. Sometimes it felt like we were the only guests there. Good value, especially with breakfast included.

Location was nice. Pools were nice but hot tub was not hot at all. There is a charge for coffee and it’s $$. Beds were super squeaky and no noise proofing between rooms.

Chef Benedict at the restaurant is the best. Will cook whatever you want and is a breath of fresh air. Staff is great place is clean. Close to the waterfall.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön und war sehr sauber. Leider war in einem der kleinen Jacuzzis kein Wasser und dke Poolbar war nicht besetzt, wir hätten gerne ein paar Cocktails im Pool getrunken. Beim Frühstück konnte man sich entscheiden zwischen Traditionell, Amerikanisch oder Pancakes. Das fanden wir etwas schade, da wir gerne auch Grüchte zum Frühstück gehabt hätten aber keine Pancakes wollten. Ansonsten waren auch alle Mitarbeiter sehr nett und sprachen super englisch.

We loved our stay (during low season) at Las Orquideas. We were close to town to walk and enjoy local Soda's, adventure, etc, yet far enough out that the noise level was good. My family loved the pools, hot tubes and beautiful landscaping on the property. Las Orquideas meals were amazing - the daily breakfasts included and the occasional supper we splurged on. The evening server, Esteban, was so friendly and helpful supporting us with local attractions and places he personally recommends or knows the tourists enjoy. Staff were available till 10pm to help and were constantly cleaning and landscaping the grounds/rooms. We enjoyed Las Orquideas that we would totally go back if we are in the La Fortuna area. Wow, just wow! This hotel exceeded my expectations. Grounds are gorgeous! The sound of the river and the rainforest while lounging in the pools felt like heaven. The pool area is beautiful. The restraunt and staff top notch. El Salto swing a 5 minute walk away. This is where you want to stay. We will be back.
