Staff was very friendly. I booked the economy old quadruple room for 2 people, and the lady at the front desk said it was a big room for just us. In actuality it was the perfect size when compared to American hotel rooms. Didn’t know the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor, so of course our room was on the 4th and we walked 2 flights of stairs every day without help with our luggage. I traveled with my 80 year old mother so you can imagine what that was like. Though the benefit of the 4th floor is that it’s quiet. Also the shower tub is very high to step over. Last thing I’ll say is you have to turn your room key in every time you leave the hotel, and pick it up at the front desk when you come back. Seemed weird/unsafe to me since they don’t check your ID to prove that it’s your room when you ask for the room key back, but may be a norm here. They also give you a separate key to let yourself in and out of the front of the hotel when there is no one at the front desk (midnight to 7am I believe). Advice: Use the front desk to call taxis for you as they are very hard to get in Florence on your own. You could also use Uber but they are 2x the price. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Great location in the city centre, walkable to everything. The hotel reception is on the 3rd floor which is accessible via a small lift (2 people & suitcases). It looked tired in places, showing wear and tear. While we were there there was a blackout and the staff were helpful, taping touches to the banister up the stairs, providing bottled water and hand fans for the heat. Bathroom door didn't have a lock, wires above bathroom mirror, TV directly above Daughters bed. Bathroom was a wet room and when the floor was wet it was very slippery, had to wear flip flops all the time in bathroom. I would say this was a b&b standard not a 3star hotel

Really nice hotel, couldn't be more central than that, 3 minutes from the Duomo and 3' from Palazzo Vecchio. The room is comfy, wifi works ok and the breakfast is ok. Really recommended if you don't have a car, because the garage they use has to collect and bring it back and everytime is about 20-30'. But if you just arrive there, leave the car and get it when you check out is perfect, also not expensive at 30 euro per day (small car)

Location is excellent! I only stood 1 night but my room was on the 4th floor so I could take a elevator to the 3rd but had to lug mine and kid’s luggage up 2 big flights of stairs it was terrible also room was very old clean but old and the AC did not really work! Also not 1 English Channel on tv

La ubicación del hotel es muy buena, pero la recepción es en el piso 3, hay un ascensor muy pequeño que te lleva ahí, pero a las habitaciones debes subir tu maleta por escaleras. El desayuno muy básico. La habitación es pequeña, y el aire no funciono! El segundo día nos cambiaron a otra habitación, en la que si funcionaba el aire. El personal de la recepción muy amable!

DONT STAY HERE. This was not a budget hotel—we chose it because it was more expensive than other options and expected better quality. That was a mistake. The room we were given while traveling with our teenage daughter was extremely small and visibly dirty. There was thick dust throughout the room, especially on top of the closets. On the second day, we found hair in the bed after lifting the sheets. The walls were so thin that we could hear everything from the next room. Before leaving, we checked under the bed and were shocked by the amount of dust and debris—it was unlike anything we’ve seen in years of traveling. All of this is documented with photos. Parking was chaotic and confusing. Staff instructed us to drive to the hotel, then seemed confused about our car. One night we were told parking was unavailable and sent back into the city; the next morning they warned us about possible tickets. No one appeared to understand their own system. Breakfast was poorly managed. Although advertised as 7:00–10:00, food was consistently gone early and rarely replenished, even before 8:45 AM. Staff seemed annoyed when guests asked about the breakfast issue. Reception staff were distracted and unprofessional, and customer service was essentially nonexistent. We have traveled extensively for over a decade and have never experienced a hotel this unhygienic and poorly managed. There are many wonderful places to stay in Florence—this is not one of them. Parking issue was a disaster, too.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Clean towels daily. Location is perfect, walk to all touristy sites, no need for public transportation. Breakfast was just egg, cold cuts, fruit, drinks. Not much selection, but Europe is not big on breakfast. I do wished their check out was later, it’s at 10am.

Room wasn’t fully cleaned, there was hairs on my bed and in the shower. Staff cleaned our room every day which was then cleaned properly. Very central of the city and was able to walk everywhere we wanted to see

We stayed here for 2 nights, we arrived too early and our room was not ready so we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and explored Florence. Location is great as it is one block from the Cathedral and in the same building of the LEGO Store. There are stores, restaurants and museums near by all of them within walking distance. Our room was clean, tidy and well maintained, bathroom was narrow for American standards, but we didn’t have any problems. Staff was supper friendly and helpful during our stay. We were provided with vouchers to a near by roof bar to appreciate Florence’s sky line.

HORRIBLE, Reportamos el baño con un olor a humedad y no hicieron nada, tuvimos que dormir con la ventana abierta porque el olor a moho era terrible. Además se veían partes verdes. La limpieza fatal, encontramos pelos, polvo, y se nota que no lavan las colchas y almohadas decorativas. El desayuno muy escaso, solo hay pan dulce y café. El foco principal del cuarto prendía y se apagaba, la lámpara del escritorio de enfrente no tenía ni siquiera foco, lo reporte y no hicieron nada. No te ofrecen ni un agua en el cuarto. Tuvimos que cargar la maleta por unas escaleras muy empinadas. Nuestra experiencia en este hotel fue terrible y por eso les escribo para que tengan cuidado y no se queden aqui.

Very helpful receptionist who offered good information. We felt that everything offered was as cheap as possible eg paper cups for hot drinks in bedroom, low quality food for breakfast. Room was acceptable, but had scaffolding and walkways across the window. Hairdryer (if that is what it was) in bathroom was unusual and useless. However the location was fantastic so it’s fine if you’re ok with quirky furnishing and basic facilities.

I reserved the single economy room. I was traveling alone so wasn’t concerned with “stairway only” access, nor the bed that is smaller than a standard twin. It’s an old building but everything works and is super convenient for walking to all the city center sites with Duomo only a few steps away. The staff are all very helpful in every way. The breakfast was satisfying and plentiful so saved some money on that meal. I stayed 4 nights and the cost savings was amazing. The room did not face the street so had a pretty quiet night for sleep. The loss of any view was compensated by that fact of a good nights sleep.

It’s an old building but everything works and is super convenient for walking to all the city center sites with Duomo only a few steps away. The staff are all very helpful in every way. The breakfast was satisfying and plentiful so saved some money on that meal. I stayed 4 nights and the cost savings was amazing. We only stayed for one night, but we absolutely loved it! We were warmly greeted and given a lot of great information about Florence. Our host was incredibly kind and friendly and definitely one of the best parts of the stay. The hotel itself was an older but attractive building. The location was very convenient and around many shops and restaurants. We stayed in an economy room that was really adorable. It was very affordable as well! Overall, we loved it here and would stay again if we ever visit Florence another time!

The hotel is at a very good location, very central, the Dome is less than a minute away. It is actually the third floor of a building. The receptionists are friendly, however, due to lack of communication among themselves they made our check out a miserable experience. Breakfast is generous, but the breakfast area is way too small, only a few tables for two, and you are given out when taking a bigger table. Could use more staff. The location compensates for the small inconveniences, thus I highly recommend to stay in this hotel.

Central for ALL sites to explore in Florence and walking distance from the train. But it was the staff who made our stay so wonderful, especially Sabrina at the front desk. I recently stayed at the Maxim Axial Hotel and found the hotel itself to be quite good, with comfortable accommodations and a great location. However, an unfortunate incident involving a staff member significantly tarnished our experience. During our stay, while waiting for the elevator, I encountered inappropriate behavior from a female staff member with short black hair. She tugged on my shirt despite me being a distance away from the elevator door and also slapped my mother's hand away while she was selecting the floor. This unprofessional behaviour was both distressing and surprising, particularly in a hospitality setting. I raised this issue with the hotel management but five days later, I have yet to receive a response. It’s disappointing that such a serious matter hasn’t been addressed, as I believe every guest deserves a respectful environment. Overall, while the hotel itself met our expectations, the lack of communication and the incident with staff overshadowed our stay. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously to enhance the guest experience in the future.

Perfect location , couldn't have been better. Literally everything we wanted was max 10 min walk away. Room was clean, could smell the disinfectant on entry haha. One of the biggest rooms I stayed in on my Italy trip so far. Yes very small and slow elevator which seems common in these older Italian buildings. However the location cannot be beat, size and comfort of room. Older look aesthetically but that did not matter. Safe and secure, even when returning after midnight there are safeguards for access. Definitely recommend

DONT STAY HERE. This was not a budget hotel—we chose it because it was more expensive than other options and expected better quality. That was a mistake. The room we were given while traveling with our teenage daughter was extremely small and visibly dirty. There was thick dust throughout the room, especially on top of the closets. On the second day, we found hair in the bed after lifting the sheets. The walls were so thin that we could hear everything from the next room. Before leaving, we checked under the bed and were shocked by the amount of dust and debris—it was unlike anything we’ve seen in years of traveling. All of this is documented with photos. Parking was chaotic and confusing. Staff instructed us to drive to the hotel, then seemed confused about our car. One night we were told parking was unavailable and sent back into the city; the next morning they warned us about possible tickets. No one appeared to understand their own system. Breakfast was poorly managed. Although advertised as 7:00–10:00, food was consistently gone early and rarely replenished, even before 8:45 AM. Staff seemed annoyed when guests asked about the breakfast issue. Reception staff were distracted and unprofessional, and customer service was essentially nonexistent. We have traveled extensively for over a decade and have never experienced a hotel this unhygienic and poorly managed. There are many wonderful places to stay in Florence—this is not one of them. Parking issue was a disaster, too.

Excellent, very central location above shops on main pedestrian street between Duomo and Palazzo Uffizi. My room was great, with smart decor, good AC and new bathroom. Welcoming reception staff. Breakfast buffet included (busy in a small room). Lots of different rooms types, I think mine was recently updated. There are a couple of steps in and out if the lift.

Lovely hotel, clean and good location. Downside was having to leave the heavy keys behind each time we left. Which meant going from 1st floor to 3rd floor to drop the key and go back down again. Having a more modern key system would be so much easier and make the stay more enjoyable.
