Wingate Houston at Reliant Park & Medical Center

The hotel does not have air conditioning in the reception or in the breakfast room, the elevator did not work, the ice machine did not work either, access to the hotel is confusing, since you have to enter through another hotel to get there.

Front elevators were broken but no sign was out. $30 per car per night for parking after paying $500 for 2 nights in a dump. Front desk was borderline rude. Housekeeping occupied the entire elevator leaving us to wait for a second. Found that very rude.

Great that it was within walking distance to NRG. Check in line was insanely long and slow. Parking was full. The website advertises free parking but they do charge $30. The lobby and hallways were hot and humid and musty. The elevator did not work but they did not have a sign up so most people tried pushing buttons for a while and then would finally give up and walk the stairs. The stairs were also very musty smelling. The pool was very big but pretty dirty. The room however was very clean and cool and the bed was very comfortable. Inconvenient that drinks and snacks for purchase were behind the check in counter, it was impossible to purchase anything all afternoon before the concert because the line to check in was always so long.

Poor, property says located near NRG center. I assumed a short walk. However there was a perimeter fence that was closed. Resulting in an extra long hike to get to my destination. I understand during slow times limiting access. But why not V have one pedestrian gate for hotel guests to use via their room key for security purposes. Also the air conditioning unit was extremely noisy and not operating properly. The staff were all helpful and professional. But management is not supporting them to the quality of service they provide.

I would mostly say that this hotel is in some disrepair. Definitely a good location if you were going to go to the rodeo but pretty sad the condition in a lot of places. Elevators not working, pools disgusting and not available. And it’s a shame because the outside pool could really be a cool Area for people to hang out. Our bathtub had the drain that had about half an inch of caulk all around it and we couldn’t even use it. We didn’t notice till we got up in the morning to take showers and it couldn’t even be used. Paid a lot of money for a pretty crappy place.

Leaving at 5 am saw huge coach roach in the middle of the hallway It is behind Wyndham hotel, so Ubers leave you or pick you up at the wrong hotel, All fenced around so to get to the stadium next door, you have to walk all the way to the front of the other hotel, and then back the same way, (half a mile)

The pictures are very deceiving. This hotel had 1 working elevator. And you couldn't park to check on your vehicle. The pool was green. There were buckets lining the hallway and much needed repairs. Our bathroom light stopped working. Needed electrian. We came out to our vehichle that was parked right out front and our window was broken with 15 other vehicles. They wouldnt give us the security tape copy to usb. After finding out this was inside job. The guy who arranges security told them they werent needed. Beware dont stay stay here!

The property is extremely dated and is long overdue for an upgrade. Clean, though it was extremely bare bones. They also charge 30 dollars for parking, which I feel should be included while staying at the property. Pool was closed and looked gross. Great location by event so this property will always be rented by visitors, just know what you’re getting.

It was raining when we got there and there was water dripping from the ceiling everywhere. Buckets were collecting water all around the hotel, the elevators were rattling and getting stuck in the middle of floors. When we stepped off of the elevator finally there was a literal waterfall happening at the seam of it. Our room smelled horribly of mildew and mold.

There was a roach on the wall of our hallway, and our friends had a bug in their room, too. Overall, the convenience was great but would definitely not recommend. The place needs a deep cleaning and an update. The staff was mostly friendly, though.

The hotel was convenient to walk to the NRG Stadium. The hotel and grounds are in dire need of an update. The bathroom was dirty. There were lemon seeds stuck to the sink faucet and the bathtub drained very slowly while taking a shower. The towels and sheets were dingy gray and old. We were afraid to use them because they looked so bad. We travel quite a bit and this was probably the dirtiest hotel I have stayed at.

This was one of the worst places we have stayed. The first room they gave us smelled like beer and throw up. We asked fro a new room and the second was not much better. The pool looked like it had not been cleaned in months. They advertise they had free breakfast and all they had was coffee and rolls, they said they discontinued the hot breakfast a month ago. This place was so bad we left after one night. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel room is so old. The bath tub held water at the bottom. It was not safe. I don't think they ever clean. I didn't see one house keeper. The stair case at the end has no handles. It’s a terrible hotel.

Hotel is in very poor shape. Doors don’t shut/lock. Pool dirty. Continental breakfast lacking (milk and juice luke warm). Killed large roach in our room. No AC in breakfast area. Pool dirty. Carpet knappy. Not enough towels or any hand-soap. Room smelled heavily of cleaning chemicals.

Well the place looks trashy ! When we arrived the lobby looked ok ! The staff was kinda nice but wasn’t very helpful and knowledgeable! Then when we got in the elevator it was dirty and smelly my shoes was sticking to the floor and it sounded like it was fixing to break! We got to our floor the carpet was also dirty like it need deep vacuuming! We got to our room the carpet was stained ( dirty) ! The Tv didn’t work , no blow drier for my hair!! The room looked dirty!! Now the beds did look neater ! So we were ok with that The best thing about the place is the area of the hotel was convenient and walking distance to the NRG Stadium!! Also the breakfast was very good ! That area looked suitable and cleaner than the whole place !! Things are rundown and needs to be fixed and deep cleaned !! A handy man is needed to repair things right away! I’ve been to other hotels with the chain of name and they were sooooo much better!! This hotel needs better management !! Sorry I so truthful!! But y’all asked 😔

Very dirty. Bugs and bats in room and mildew smell coming from ac. Leak was above one of the exit doors. Brown liquid and dirty ofc. Gross bathroom. Breakfast was literally a joke. One gate open to the whole property so just annoying tbh

My hotel room didn't have a Microwave, and the AC made such a loud noise that was so disturbing at night, the breakfast was so sad with only 3 options. The elevators would freeze and sound like they would break in seconds.

Room was very weathered and front desk was not very service oriented. The lobby was nice and the distance to NRG Stadium was perfect

The hotel was ok, but the room smelled like sewage and it got worse when the shower on. The tube felt like it was going to give out. I would not stay there anymore unless they did some updates. The elevator was not in a convenient location.

Elevator old and rickity. Worried about getting stuck in it. Only on second floor so took stairs. Room was comfortable and clean.

First off I booked the room and my name and the hotel gave me issues because I didn't use Steven on my driver's license but I used Steve on my booking. It took 4 hours for me to check in because the management kept saying how much it was against policy because it didn't exactly match my driver's license. Will never stay here again this is a POS Hotel bad management very very very misleading it is not the Wingate as in wyn it is Wingate w i n totally two different places totally two different ownerships very misleading and very mistrusting

Front desk Ms. Mehrsa was very helpful. I had an issue with desk chair in my room and she took care of it right away. Also the lady working the breakfast area was very helpful and nice.

This is the worst hotel state I have ever had. From the beginning when walking into the lobby, it was hot, like the air was not on. They charged me for parking when the website says free parking. Got to the room in the room was at 80° and the AC was on. Lobby would not answer the phone. Room got up to 88°. Brought us two fans after saying there was nothing wrong with our AC and the fans were broke as well. Elevators were broke and had mold on the floor. A huge cockroach in the bathroom and one in the room by the TV. Receptionist was not helpful at all and said a manger was not there and could not help us. Waiting for a phone call from them tomorrow. Highly do not recommend staying at this place. Expedia should take it off their site.

Just stay at the Wyndham. They’re in the same parking lot. They’re both older and run down but the staff at the Wyndham suites is so nice and so accommodating. Somehow this trip was more expensive than our stay at Whyndham even though it’s the budget version. The staff here is rude. When we checked in at night, I asked for a receipt for my debit card and was told I should already know what it cost because I booked on Expedia. Leaving in the day time I asked the 2 girls and the young one didn’t have a clue and the older woman was just a mess and she has every excuse in the book for not being accommodating. She printed a receipt showing the wrong amount. When we asked for a late check out she gave us attitude and said only 30 minutes or she will charge $50. There are like 500 rooms and maybe 8 had guest in them. Ridiculous… I just wanted the ability to finish a work meeting but ended up having to pack up and rush home in a hurry because she couldn’t do it. The Wyndham never gave us any issue with this. Seriously this hotel has not been renovated since 1995 AND they’re rude to customers? Never again. They should be doing whatever it takes to keep customers happy. Also, I am so over housekeeping that bangs on the door an hour before checkout while you have a “do not disturb sign up”. I asked her why she did that and she said “I thought maybe you will let me in”. What?? This place is a dump with awful service and a complete waste of money.

It was by far the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. The staff was rude. Refused to give extras towels for a stay of two guests for two nights. The ac did not work. It was hot and stuff in the lobby, hallways and room. The toilet was broken. It was leaking and not flushing properly. It smelled horrible. The tv wouldnt stay on. The blankets had holes The outlets didn’t really work either Overall horrible and wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy

There was a 100 dollar depot on the room. Plus your room rate. I was not told about this unit i got there. I was there on the 8th of July and I have not received my deposit back yet 😕. It is July 26th now. I will not go back there.

The staff was very nice and informative. The hotel is not the most updated, and the breakfast is lackluster, but the room was clean and the coffee was good! We were not sure what to expect with the mixed reviews, but we were very happy with our decision to stay. If you need to be close to the stadium, this is it!

We stayed for the Houston Livestock show from Tuesday through Monday, in that time we received housekeeping services exactly once and that was when I went to the front desk and all but demanded we have clean towels, sheets, trash removed, etc. DoorDash was refused entry to our hotel (it is in the back of another hotel), we were told it would be an additional $100 per night if we added another car park while we stayed- was a lie, it would have been $30, but we didn't find that out until it was too late. The facilities are very outdated and not well maintained-doorknobs coming apart, locks not securing, outside doors for entry not attached to security locks, etc. It was a mess and we won't be staying there again unless it's an emergency.

There was no continental breakfast.Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night.No one explained to me why. When I arrived, they couldn't find my reservation.Then, they had it under two different names.My reservation was already paid.They told me it wasn't then.They found that I did pay.

Beds and linens were good. Grounds were so gated, that it was a one mile walk from the main road to get to the check in lobby. It's close to the NRG stadium but inaccessible. had to walk to the freeway and then back to get in.

This hotel is so outdated and needs to be leveled to the GROUND. Elevators were not working, place smelled something fierce. The carpet is from 1887, the mirror in the bathroom was the only upgrade. The pool had green algae on the bottom. FREE breakfast hours were from 7-10 and the crew showed up at 8am with runny eggs, horrible meat options, stale white bread and the WORST COFFEE I HAVE EVER HAD.

USD 30 charge per night for parking due to event but included the day before. Breakfast consisted of 3 cereals and some small muffins and apples. Loud guests returning late at night, passed out in the hallway. Shower would only get to a lukewarm

Went to check out this morning & the attendant stated he couldn't check me out due to i think computer issues , the breakfast suck as well !!!

Close to NRG stadium, area is okay rooms are dated the tv did not work let them know they did not fix it. There is no bar in the hotel breakfast was ehhhh... staff was friendly but i think resources for yhis place are depleted so no modern updates or tv for that matter. Staff is very friendly though.
