Very friendly staff all around. Valet parking attendants were great but a little expensive to have a vehicle parked. Roof top was an amazing way to wind down after very hot days walking around DC. Thank you for a great stay!

A funky hotel, with a rooftop pool as a highlight. Front desk staff were very helpful on arrival and answered all our questions. We were not impressed by the hotel bar/ restaurant service, QR code menus and paper cups for breakfast coffee was not a four star standard. Hidden costs for breakfast on checkout!! When hotels.com said it was included! Not impressed! Overall it was an average stay for one night however I would not choose to stay for longer with a young family.

Staid for 4 nights with my wife and we were very happy with the hotel. The location is great with most attractions in walking distance. The room was spacious and comfortable with an awesome bathtub. My only complaint about the room was the coffee machine which didn't seem to be able to brew hot enough coffee but maybe I misunderstood the directions. The staff was exceptional and super friendly which just made our stay even better. The abundant free water was also a plus. The hotel gym was really good with a few treadmills, elliptical machines and a peloton bike as well as some free weights.

Disappointing for the price. The building itself is nice, but the amenities and service don’t match the cost. You have to call down for ice and wait for someone to bring it, and I didn’t find out until my last night that you also have to request a microwave. The pool closes at 8 p.m., which is far too early. Parking is $70 a night plus a resort fee on top of nearly $200 per night for the room. My total came to $783.32 for the stay. For that price, I expected more convenience, better access to amenities, and fewer extra charges.

This hotel has an amazing vibe. Rooftop pool is a bonus, but tile is hot!!! Rooftop bar and food is also great. Workout area great as well. Only issues were staff friendliness were hit or miss.

My first time staying here and was very impressed. The location is perfect. The staff was amazing, especially David at the Fri t desk. The rooftop pool and bar is a very nice touch. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Location was great for sight seeing. Room although small was nice. A/C was not great (couldn't get the room very cold). Pool location was cool but very small and closes early. Fees and parking were outrageous. Parking garage across the street $12 a night vs the $59 Zena charges.

The decorative throw blankets that lay across the bed are a nice touch but dirty. There were obvious stains on ours that were a bit appalling to see. The showers have a unique design but generally not convenient to use. Not my favorite room/room setup ive stayed at but hotel does have positives. Very unimpressed with the food from the rooftop bar but the view was amazing! The complimentary store where you can checkout items is convenient and useful! The hotel also offers activities and spaces that make it easy to have a good time. The art and history around the hotel gives the guest something to enjoy in downtime.

Wife and I picked Zena based on price, rating and pictures. We were not disappointed. Hotel was conveniently located within walking distance of the Mall and the museums. Hotel and rooms were very clean, update and contemporary. Service was amazing - the manager left a bottle of Prosecco in our room to celebrate our anniversary. We had an amazing experience.

Unfortunately, the first issue was a toilet that didn't flush properly. After 24 hours, this became a bit of a biosecurity issue. I asked why we hadn't gotten cleaning service, and could someone take a look at the toilet. When we got back from the day's festivities, the toilet was fixed (albeit very slow and hard to push), but the toilet itself was still disgusting. The room had not been serviced. The next day, the room was serviced but there were no towels. When I asked at 9 pm to get towels, I was shocked to come back to the room and find over 20 towels. The pile of clean towels was so high and took up so much room in the bathroom that we had no room to place our clothes. I wasn't angry but it was definitely weird, and I also felt guilty because now they all had to be washed again. Finally, there was hair behind the bathroom sink and lots of cracked grout in the bathroom. The room was beautifully designed, it just felt like it hadn't gotten any love and respect in ages. The shower water scalds you randomly like an old house. The handles on the sink go in the opposite direction. We also ordered the chocolate covered strawberry extra to the room upon arrival, and it was good, but covered in mold within 2 days and housekeeping left it still sitting there. I told the manager about the toilet and sent a pic of the strange towel delivery, expecting a response and perhaps a removal of my $35/day room "processing fee" but alas, no response.

The property was nice, but tiny. The view was great. The main issue was the shower. The water would not keep the temperature and the shower was a cheaper installed room addition in the middle of the room. It’s great for one, but not really comfortable for a family. Still, the room was clean and the atmosphere was welcoming.

Loved my stay at Hotel Zena! The rooms were simple but clean and efficient. The bed was comfy and the huge TV was nice! Our favorite part was the location. Lots of dining options close by, and everything is walkable or a scooter ride away. Will be back. Thank you everyone for the amazing hospitality!!

Zena is a gem. The lobby is filled with artwork celebrating powerful women. The Zena reminds you that the women are indeed smarter. Front desk is very professional, thoughtful. Rooms are absolutely dope. Mood lighting, nautilus shower (you'll thank me), wonderful views. We'll be back.

Our check in was a very bad experience. We had requested early check in but were never told if we got it. We dropped our bags then walked a hot humid city for 4 hours and came back at regular check-in time. After waiting in line with only one service person at the desk (at 3 their own check in time) they told us the room would be 15 mins. We waited and hour and a half! Soaked with sweat and no info from them. At 4:30 we were given our key. We were not the only ones to experience this. The room was beautiful, we were in the 12th floor. However in the 14th floor roof top they play deep beats all night long. It was very very loud. Even on a Sunday night.

The hotel has an excellent location and the room was very clean. However, the common areas were quite cramped and the service was subpar. The check-in process took about 30 minutes. Breakfast was mediocre and not worth the price—definitely not recommended. Most surprisingly, the wait for breakfast was around 30 minutes, and even after finishing the meal, the coffee still hadn’t arrived. At checkout, I had to remind the staff to remove the undelivered coffee and bread from the bill. Overall, I strongly do not recommend this hotel.

Service was good & accommodating when we arrived. The room was very outdated so they offered an upgrade. The younger guy w/braids who checked me out on Saturday was very rude unnecessarily. A credit wasn't deducted & he blamed me for not telling the kitchen, although I confirmed upon check in & wasn't told I had to do anything else. Liked that we could walk to Wawa & CVS across the street & the location was close to everything, e.g. African American museum, etc. Parking addl $60 + tax p/night. Not worth the price. Rooms are basic. Breakfast was good.

My recent stay was unfortunately marred by a frustrating check-in process that left much to be desired. Despite having made a reservation and notifying the hotel of my late arrival, I encountered significant issues upon arrival. Upon reaching the hotel, I was informed that my room was not ready and was initially told it was considered a no-show. This was surprising as I had made a reservation for the previous night and had promptly called the hotel to notify them of my late arrival. Despite providing proof of payment for my reservation, I was informed that the payment did not go through and that I needed to resolve this matter with Expedia, through whom I had booked the room. After a considerable delay and escalating the issue to a manager, the situation was finally resolved. The manager intervened and acknowledged the error, eventually ensuring that I was accommodated in a room. While the manager's intervention was appreciated, the overall experience was disappointing and marred the beginning of my stay. The confusion regarding my reservation and the insistence that payment issues needed to be resolved elsewhere were particularly frustrating. In conclusion, while the hotel eventually rectified the situation, the initial check-in process was unnecessarily complicated and left a negative impression. I hope that future guests do not encounter similar issues and that the hotel can improve its communication and handling of reservations to provide a smoother check in

They are charging a $65 "resort fee" every day you stay. A resort fee. On 14th street nw. There is no resort. I never left my hotel room. But here i was coming back after a 13 hr day just for them to keep my hotel room belongings while i spent the next 3hrs crying in the lobby while your managers mostly just went out of their way to be smug and keep me from my room and the items within. For 3 hours. I'm going to post this everywhere.

I tend to stay here because it’s near my office. I can never get an invoice emailed to me after a stay and it drives me crazy and requires numerous follow up calls. Sadly have to find a new weekly place to stay.

Loved the decor and cute touches. Housekeeping was exceptional every day of our stay. Food was very good, but drinks were outrageously expensive. My review would have been 5 stars if it weren’t for the snippiness of 2 bar staff when I questioned mistakes on my bill. The mistakes were corrected but it doesn’t make up for the rude reactions when I politely questioned the errors.

The property was not as shown online. It is overpriced and the rooms are not as expected. The water in one of our rooms would not stop running. The ac in the other room did not work. The parking is too expensive. Staff was so unfriendly when I asked a simple question about the bar hours. The bathrooms were horrible with toiletries that were expired and filled with water. Overall it was way too expensive and the stay was not a pleasant one! I would not be staying here in the future and do not recommend!!

It was just great experience with my son who loved the pool! Food was excellent even thou little bit pricey but worth it! Breakfast excellent! For kids is WaWa cross the street which is BIG help). Kids don’t get it what fancy food is)) Staff super friendly and very accommodating. Manager is fantastic

I had a very comfortable one night stay. The decor was beautiful and the location was convenient for my trip. The downside was ordering room service. I was told that they don't take pre-orders for breakfast, which was surprising. Posted hours for breakfast were inconsistent (some said 6:30 am and others said 7 am). I placed my order online when the website finally went live shortly after 7, which I thought would be enough time before my 9 am meeting a few blocks away (the website said to allow 30 minutes for processing and delivery). 30 minutes came and went, and after an hour of waiting, I called the front desk to check on my order. After being on hold for a few moments, the person asked what my order was, and then asked how I wanted my eggs. This suggested that my order had not been made at that point so I asked to cancel my order and for the charges to be removed from my account (which they did) so I wouldn't be late for my meeting. Maybe I should have checked on my order after waiting 30 minutes and I would have received food before I had to check out and leave? Who knows if that would have changed anything but it's odd that they don't have a system for taking breakfast pre-orders in 2024 (either online or through a door hanger). Not sure if this would prevent me from staying there again, but it was disappointing, especially because I had a food/beverage credit that I was unable to use because my french toast and eggs weren't prepared an hour after I placed my order.

Lovely hotel in very convenient position, half a mile walk from the White House and so only a mile from the Washington Monument and The Mall. Limited restaurant offering but plenty of options close by. Check in was great, as was the maid service, but we gave 3 stars overall for service as the breakfast service was very poor, even though there were only 6 other people eating, and 4 of those arrived after us! The cooked food was fine, but no tip on the breakfast tab as a result of the slow and indifferent bar staff.
