Could be great but we didn’t use the gym as the basement was moldy (classic Shoreditch mold problem) and the staff seemed blissfully unaware / unconcerned. Also the bar is beautiful but you couldn’t be in there as the air was thick with oil fumes coming from the kitchen. They seem really unconcerned with the health of their guests trying to minimise these issues and even gaslighting us into trying to make out they didn’t exist. For that reason we don’t be going back.

I love Virgin hotels and this one didn’t disappoint. I loved the gym, rooftop bar and breakfast area, downstairs bar with music. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great. Rooms are comfortable with fun little amenities. This hotel has one of the best gyms I have ever used. Would absolutely stay there again!

Fun, hip hotel in Shoreditch with lots to offer. Stayed here 5 nights in feb’25 so really got a feel for it. Here are the details I’d want to know. The room: “grand double” room was clean, comfortably stylish and a good size w/2 queen beds and plenty of places to put hanging & folded clothes. Didn’t opt for a terrace. Didn’t miss it. Amenities worth mentioning: plush robes, soft linens, comfy beds, hot steam shower, in-room safe, good hairdryer, full size shampoo & conditioner, a selection of helpful items for purchase like a phone cord and sleep mask, etc. Variety of food & drink options: extensive minibar, room service menu was limited to a few basics but food was delicious & service was prompt. Warmly heated (yes, even in Feb) swanky little outdoor rooftop pool with cocktail & lounge seating, indoor bar/restaurant w/DJ on sat night, plus Dani Garcia’s famous Bibo on a lower level, and a quieter street level cocktail lounge with some creative signature drinks. There is also what looked like a fun club on the lower level but did not get a chance to check it out. Wellness: Had a relaxing 1hr massage at the spa and peeked into the well-appointed and clean gym. I really have mixed feelings about this place. The room was great, super comfortable and the steam shower was a great addition. However, the on site nightclub meant it was VERY noisy with people coming and going into the wee small hours and kept us awake half the night. The rooftop bar and pool was one of the main reasons we booked but I was really disappointed. The staff were incredibly standoffish and on one occasion we were ignored for over 10 minutes when booking into the pool and so we left. On another occasion it was too busy and we couldn’t get access. However if you’re looking for somewhere with staff that take forever to serve you, a DJ that blasts out music to a ridiculous volume and caters mainly for Love Island reflects who all vape in the pool, this is your kind of place. Similar experience in the ground floor bar. Very poor level of service from the staff. Shame because it not what I expected from a Virgin hotel and very different from my experience at their Edinburgh hotel , which is fabulous.

They went above and beyond in service! Virgin way is always the best way. However, restaurant and rooftop were always booked with private events, I didn't get the chance to check them out. Guests should always have a chance to sit at the hotel facilities.

Arrived to stay as an 18th birthday present for my daughter. Booked the hotel for location, outdoor roof top pool and gym. At reception told the gym was shut for our stay. Went to the outdoor rooftop pool to find a private work party so no access to the pool. The room itself was great. Lovely beds, good aircon and great bathroom. Very sound proofed. Mange your expectations of the view as it’s Shoreditch…. You might get bins and in our case a drain cleaning truck revving at 7am… The location is great for eating out. Next day we had access to the pool. Go changed in a robe otherwise the changing room is the loo. The pool was great with a view of the city. Breakfast back in the adjacent roof top restaurant. Seemed understaffed. Coffee was excellent. The breakfast was awful. £17 for a full English. Ordered poached eggs that were boiled until they crumbled. Dry brittle bacon and from frozen hash brown. My daughters yoghurt and fruit came with bran flakes not granola. That was £7. Fresh orange juice was watered down. None of the smoothies available. Guest next to us ordered eggs florentine… was told no spinach.. ‘would he like mushrooms instead…?’ I’d recommend the hotel for the location and the roof top pool when accessible. Just don’t eat there and call to see if any of the facilities aren’t available.

Front desk staff were great!! Very helpful with directions from the hotel into central London. The room was lovely,and very comfortable bed. Roof top bar was a bit disappointing,not a great choice of drinks and limited seating unless you are eating,we were told that it is run independently from Virgin. Overall nice hotel but unfortunately during our stay there was a very bad smell,damp and musty in the corridoors and lift areas but not in the room.

A well appointed hotel in Shoreditch. The room was nice and clean. The area is quite loud and rowdy at night which is fine for the city but the rooms did not buffer the sound at all.

Really lovely hotel, very comfy bed and nice bars/restaurants. Rooms styled really nicely and steam shower was great. Only negatives were that the toilet did not have a door or screen and the bathroom door doesn't lock so no privacy. Also the courtyard view ooks out onto the roof which is fine except it's covered in AstroTurf. Not very environmentally friendly - a living roof would be much more pleasant but just a small thing. Overall definitely recommend staying here

Hotel was fantastic. Room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable with an excellent coffee setup and amazing steam shower. The hotel gym was also outstanding. Good staff as well. Not sure why it’s priced so well given the location and amenities —A+ all around.

The hotel is nice, a 8 min walk from the subway station. Nice decor andvthe rooms are modern and well kept. They are quite small though. I thought it would be noisy (the area is lively at night) but we had a room facing the interior of the building and that was perfect for sleeping. The steam shower was really nice. Overall good stay, but i was expecting a bigger room given the price.

The steam shower - oh my life it was amazing. The staff were absolutely lovely. Clean bedroom, huge bed that was comfortable and huge bathroom. Well stocked mini bar and great free tea coffee and water.

The staff was really terrific. There was a day where we slept in and deferred housekeeping. But get this: that evening I asked for some Nespresso pods to be brought up while we were away and not only did they bring us the pods, they made up the room that night. So kind and thoughtful. The hotel was very nice. Unfortunately the stay was tainted by the front desk charging my credit card upon check out, even though I had prepaid in full. For a hotel of this level of supposed standards, I would expect a better level of training / customer experience than this for the price.

Could be great but we didn’t use the gym as the basement was moldy (classic Shoreditch mold problem) and the staff seemed blissfully unaware / unconcerned. Also the bar is beautiful but you couldn’t be in there as the air was thick with oil fumes coming from the kitchen. They seem really unconcerned with the health of their guests trying to minimise these issues and even gaslighting us into trying to make out they didn’t exist. For that reason we don’t be going back.

The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and every staff member we encountered was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Our room was cozy, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly appointed with everything we could need — proof that bigger isn’t always better! A special shoutout to the hotel’s general manager, David, who went above and beyond to smooth our travels for the next day by arranging a car service to our next destination, 2.5 hours outside of London. We had naively assumed that black cabs would take us that far, but David’s quick assistance saved the day. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations — from the comfort of the room to the exceptional hospitality. We can’t wait to return!

We had a fantastic stay- everything was perfect, from the staff being friendly and endlessly helpful, gorgeous and comfortable room and incredible food, service and views from the 7th floor bar/restaurant. I was not able to try the pool but will next time. From now on we will only book Virgin hotels. The BEST!!!

Lovely room and location. However there was an incident with our room within 30 minutes of us checking in where we were inside and staff unlocked the door and were about to come in until I shouted out. I was undressed at the time. It was an error on their part. After we complained they explained and apologised and gave us free drinks but it was a bit scary when it happened and we felt unsettled during our stay. Overall really nice room and great location but the staff didn’t feel as warm, friendly or with an overall good vibe, even at the bar on the ground floor, as other hotels nearby like Nobu and The Hoxton.

My first time at this hotel and I had a wonderful stay. The room was very stylish, everything you could ask including a steam shower! Had the best sleep ever in the bed. The roof top terrace is lovely. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and I will bring my swimming costume for the pool next time! Highly recommend and very close for Liverpool Street Station.

I really have mixed feelings about this place. The room was great, super comfortable and the steam shower was a great addition. However, the on site nightclub meant it was VERY noisy with people coming and going into the wee small hours and kept us awake half the night. The rooftop bar and pool was one of the main reasons we booked but I was really disappointed. The staff were incredibly standoffish and on one occasion we were ignored for over 10 minutes when booking into the pool and so we left. On another occasion it was too busy and we couldn’t get access. However if you’re looking for somewhere with staff that take forever to serve you, a DJ that blasts out music to a ridiculous volume and caters mainly for Love Island reflects who all vape in the pool, this is your kind of place. The Room was quiet and clean. The assigned room had a steam shower that was not working but they changed our room quickly. The real disappointment was the breakfast. There was the same limited choice for all 5 days… no cereal, fruit cheese or jam. Since the restaurant is not operated by the hotel they charged us more than 5 pound service fee every day for a prepaid breakfast. I would not book the hotel again with an included breakfast.

Arrived to stay as an 18th birthday present for my daughter. Booked the hotel for location, outdoor roof top pool and gym. At reception told the gym was shut for our stay. Went to the outdoor rooftop pool to find a private work party so no access to the pool. The room itself was great. Lovely beds, good aircon and great bathroom. Very sound proofed. Mange your expectations of the view as it’s Shoreditch…. You might get bins and in our case a drain cleaning truck revving at 7am… The location is great for eating out. Next day we had access to the pool. Go changed in a robe otherwise the changing room is the loo. The pool was great with a view of the city. Breakfast back in the adjacent roof top restaurant. Seemed understaffed. Coffee was excellent. The breakfast was awful. £17 for a full English. Ordered poached eggs that were boiled until they crumbled. Dry brittle bacon and from frozen hash brown. My daughters yoghurt and fruit came with bran flakes not granola. That was £7. Fresh orange juice was watered down. None of the smoothies available. Guest next to us ordered eggs florentine… was told no spinach.. ‘would he like mushrooms instead…?’ I’d recommend the hotel for the location and the roof top pool when accessible. Just don’t eat there and call to see if any of the facilities aren’t available.
