Fun little hotel. Geared more towards adults. Lobby turned into a night club. Pool area nice but trying to hard to be resort with a pool area that small. I liked the views, location, and style of hotel. Would stay again.

Loved this hotel! Right in the heart of downtown, it was perfect. The rooftop bar/pool was cool, but the pool is a little small. But that’s not a big deal because the environment is fun! I truly loved it here and can’t wait to be back

Great location. Just a few steps from the convention center, where the conference I was in town for was hosted. Clean and comfy with retro decor that’s too cute. My room overlooked the lively pool and bar so it was a little noisy, but earplugs were provided, and I didn’t mind. The lobby had a DJ, and if I were a few years younger, I would have had a ball dancing! I will definitely stay at this venue again the next time I’m in downtown Durham.

The pool is not much bigger than a large jacuzzi. Loud music and then live band until 10 pm by the pool. Music in the lobby until 1 am. $20 a day for parking. $15 a day for fitness center, pool, and "breakfast" whether you use any of it or not. Breakfast was coffee, bananas, and danishes. Glass bathroom door is so barely frosted you can see through it. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable. Very convenient to Bulls stadium and DPAC. Fridge and safe, but no coffee maker in the room.

The property was convenient to DPAC. Surprised to be charge Destination Fees and Parking. These charges should be disclosed.

Pool area was closed because they were “transitioning” from Christmas decorations to summer.. it’s April- why so late? There were a couple hot days where it would have been nice to enjoy the main amenity that is promoted by this hotel. The Pour bar next door is interesting but they pump music from a huge speaker directed towards the outside that is a bit much. Staff didn’t really seem to be well informed about things regarding the hotel. However- very cute, great and easy location. Reasonable parking fee $20 a day. There was a gym which is not advertised online.

A charming place to stay right in downtown Durham. Staff was accommodating and facilities were great. Nice, small gym with enough equipment. Next time we would request a room with a window towards the street instead of the walkway for a bit more privacy. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Location is great, right in the middle of downtown. The rooftop bar with "igloos" is great. Very nice staff.

This hotel is a well done retro reno place. It is a former old-fashioned motel with rooms surrounding the outdoor pool. There are lots of great eateries and it is a very convenient walk to DPAC. The property has lots of amenities, including yoga, room service and a poolside bar. The only downside to this is that there was a dj at the pool during the afternoon, and it was so loud that, even with our door closed and pillows over our heads, we couldn't block out the sound. However, it did make for a very communal atmosphere.

Great location! The shower still had hair from a previous guest.

Clean room for business trips.

The staff was super friendly, but we were not happy with our room. It was very damp throughout our stay and our shower was not cleaned at all. There were numerous long dark brown hairs on the wall. It also seemed weird that there was only one desk chair and no other seating in the room. Lastly, though not that important, the bar does not have a cocktail menu.

Clean room. Not a lot of service or amenities that I expected from a Hyatt hotel. If you’re looking for a clean well located place to rest your head - this will work. Central location is great but if you are worried about noise this isn’t the place to stay.

This hotel had many eating options. We were there for an event at Duke University. We were able to walk to campus but it was appropriately 2 mile walk but had sidewalks. However, the hotel can obtain a taxi for transportation also. We requested one for 4:00 am which was not a problem. The room was clean. I would consider staying if in Durham in the future.

Cool rooms (albeit small for the price of the room), beautiful lobby, check in was easy. I did see a few roaches outside my room though.

It’s okay. Kind of reminds of an old beach motel. The pool was extremely dirty but it was windy as all get out that day. Rooms were fine. Staff was excellent and extremely helpful.

Room was dusty, pendant lights had lots of Dust on them. Loud music played in lobby until late hours of the night.

Great staff and location, but the hotel's age is showing. Renovations are needed to eliminate dampness and odor.

Great location and cool building from the outside, but inside it feels cold and deserted. Room is the antithesis of cozy- high ceilings and poor lighting. Also hard to adjust temperature. Would not stay there again.

I did not like that there was no window in the room.

The room we were given was on the pool deck and literally behind the DJ booth. So we had to hear the music late and people talking outside our door very late. The location was great but I was looking for something a bit quieter.

We stayed in room #238, a “corner” room. While the bed was fantastically comfortable, we had difficulty with the heat, and complete lack of access to Netflix. The room was very clean but not fully functional. There were windows only on one wall, so while the room may have been in a corner, there were not views out two sides, as implied. The most unfortunate aspect was the inability to close the drapes to provide darkness in the room for sleeping. There were drapes but they were floor to ceiling and could not be closed due to everything (tv, coffee maker, light) being plugged in on that wall behind the counter top. This is a simple (and fire safe) fix) to cut the drapes to just below the window ledge on that one side.

First hotel room I ever stayed in with NO window. Free breakfast was less than adequate. Shower water ran onto bathroom floor.

Interior rooms means no window. That is illegal to built such hotel room in lots of places.

The Friday and Saturday service desk reps were great. However, the room air conditioner and room telephone didn't work despite the maintenance person's attempt to fix them, TV apps like Netflix didn't work because the internet service was poor, so I had to walk down to the front desk, and there was no soap in the shower dispenser. Plus, I tried to use a food voucher on Saturday at 9:30 am, but they ran out of the sandwiches I wanted and didn't offer a reasonable substitute or compensation.

Too loud, thermostat in room didn’t work, parking is too expensive

From photos I didn’t realize property was a quasi motel. Did not like the rooms opening to outdoor pool area.

I have stayed at hotels 3-4x the price of this hotel. And the service here is still better. The staff here is very professional and comforting. We felt well taken care of and plan on staying here every trip to Durham in the future. excellent hotel and great staff.

My reservation through hotel.com is included one breakfast per day, however, the hotel charged my credit card usd 24.73 for two days breakfast, I recd the hotel bill after I left. I sent email on 11/11/2025 requesting for refund, but the hotel does not respond. Can you look inot this issue n adv? Thanks. Joseph Wong

However, the room air conditioner and room telephone didn't work despite the maintenance person's attempt to fix them, TV apps like Netflix didn't work because the internet service was poor, so I had to walk down to the front desk, and there was no soap in the shower dispenser. Plus, I tried to use a food voucher on Saturday at 9:30 am, but they ran out of the sandwiches I wanted and didn't offer a reasonable substitute or compensation.

Wait,wait, wait for everything

Zaire(front desk) and Will(bartender) gave superior customer service. From check-in to checkout we felt extremely cared for particularly by these two employees.

Here for a college tour at NCCU. The teen I’m with has rarely ever been to a city of this size and loves the vibe including the dance party w DJ in the lobby last night, multiple restaurants and fun things in the area. Front desk staff have been very helpful, friendly and professional.

We visited your hotel in January and had a very positive stay. So positive that we invited our friends to join us for this most recent stay. We waited in line quite a while to check in. Once checked in the Receptionist had very little knowledge of charges he was applying and seemed very confused. We checked in ok. Our friends were told, with a confirmed room, that there was no room for them and the hotel had upgraded them but they would have to pay for the upgrade. When our friends said that did not make sense, they were then told that there was no room for them! We had 5:00pm dinner reservations, prior to a play, and, because of this, we missed our dinner reservation as the Receptionist could not seem to figure out what to do for them and said that all management was in a meeting. Our friends ended up changing for the evening in the lobby restroom. FINALLY at 5:30pm we pressured the Receptionist to get someone in management, which finally happened. They did give our friends a room and we were on our way. This was very embarrassing for us as we had spoken so highly of your hotel and felt that the attention by the Receptionist, and management, was poor. This left a very bad impression on all of us. Our friends, staying at the same hotel, same dates, are Kathy Mulrenan. I feel that we both deserve some sort of compensation for this debacle in the form of a compensated room or reimbursement for our stay last night.

When we arrived at 4, check-in time, the lobby was full of families waiting for their rooms. There was nobody at checkin and we had to wait ten minutes to even hear our room (and clearly very many rooms) were not ready. They said it would be 20 min. We gave our number and went to have a coffee, but after an hour and fifteen they had not called (as they said they would when our room was ready), so we went back. The checking guy is again not there. We wait for 10 min. He finally shows up and he still has a long list of names and phone numbers of people who need rooms. He had a room for us—though he hadn’t called us. I guess he was just giving them to people who showed up rather than following his list. Completely ridiculous. Thus got a hotel charging $660 or something for two nights. Completely pathetic. And no housekeeping—though we hadn’t said we didn’t want it.

Nice clean room, beautiful view over the pool and city center, staff was friendly, and it was centrally located to plenty of good restaurants, shopping, and the Carolina Theatre. Will definitely stay again!

Everything was great. Everything was in walking distance. I didn’t have to move my car.

Easy parking though if you have a large SUV, it might be a tight fit. Great location to several eating options and DPAC. Quirky motel style hotel. We stayed on the pool floor and it was Igloo season and music was playing. Staff was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows, we slept well. We’d definitely stay there again.

Cool new hotel in a cool area of Durham but not a great stay. There was no internet/TV service, the thermostat reset itself in the middle of the night and we roasted all night long, and breakfast in the lobby cafe took almost 45 minutes to be served.

In a fantastic location, unbeatable if you’re in Durham. Driving distance from major attractions. Parking was easy. Pool is fantastic, was fun to head to it any time and was open late. Very friendly bartenders at the pool! Drinks were great, food looked good didn’t have any. I will say it was pretty hard to get the VIP breakfast tickets, but once we got it, not too bad a of a deal especially if you’d be traveling solo. Room was roomy and clean, had a slight smell of sulfur??? Nice and quiet though, even with the hotel parties and pool right by the room.

The hotel did not offer anything and is empty. Also there is no bar or restaurant or breakfast as described. None of the promised amenities are opened.

Loved this hotel. Love the vibe around the lobby, love the pool area bar, LOVED my yummy breakfast burrito at the bar. The location is great and walkable. There is parking just around the corner at the Corcoran St garage that will save you $$. Overall a great choice.

The receptionist was awesome, friendly and helpful. The website said the pool wasn’t open yet which was untrue for guests staying there, it was closed for visitors until a later date. VIP included breakfast which was very limited but coffee plentiful, and the host for breakfast was delightful. They stored my luggage for a few hours, it felt safe and the receptionist was very helpful and accommodating!

If you want a quiet place to sleep on a weekend, stay away. They have a DJ in the bar until 3 AM and the bass line was inescapable. In addition, some device was beeping in the hallway. Front desk did not answer or return my call about it. Breakfast offerings are limited. The sausage frittata was tiny and not at all tasty, but the sandwich was very good. Otherwise, everything was adequate. Service was good.

The check in was quick and easy. Since they did not have the complimentary breakfast available on weekdays they gave me free parking! Great benefit - hooray to this hotel!

Overall, great place to stay! Definitely fun and hip. Staff were friendly and everything was clean. Patio food/ drinks and breakfast were tasty. If you’re staying over the weekend (at least over the summer), the patio has a dj that plays until 10, so expect it to be pretty loud until then. Looking forward to my next stay!
