Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Southaven Central - Memphis by IHG

The room and hotel were very clean and updated. Staff was very nice. The indoor pool was very nice. Our only complaint was all the noise, which we realize isn’t necessarily the hotel’s fault! We heard the elevators and our upstairs neighbors all night long.

Breakfast offerings were very good. Staff was friendly. The elevator had a sickening oily smell. The room above us had noisy creaking floor boards. The refrigerator in our room was turned off, I assume by the staff as instructed, and took a day to get cold. It also had no freezer compartment. The free coffee machines were an excellent idea.

The place is super clean!! We stayed here while touring Memphis for a couple of days. We swam both evenings and mornings and the pool area was spotless. The breakfast had so many options and was extremely clean as well. I would definitely recommend staying here. There are so many restaurants, shopping centers and plenty of things to keep you busy as well surrounding this hotel.

This property had an excellent workout room, and the staff members were very friendly. One thing missing was sanitary wipes to keep the equipment clean before and after workouts, but otherwise, everything else was very good. I would revisit this property in the future.

The facility and room are new-looking and very clean. The surrounding area has a lot of dining and shopping options. However, the walls and floors seem to be very thin as you could hear guests in other rooms talking at all hours. The smoke detector in my room blinked like a strobe light every few minutes all night and it was right over the bed and kept waking me up. There is also the sound of airplanes taking off and landing many times during the night. There are only 2 elevators for the whole hotel, but one was out of order for my whole stay. The water in the shower would not get hotter than lukewarm in the afternoon, but was better by the next morning. The Kleenex box in the bathroom was almost empty the night I arrived and the maids did not replace it when it was empty, nor replace the coffee packs I used. The hot breakfast is OK, eggs and biscuits but no meats.

Hotel is nice that advantage is that it’s close to baseball fields it offer free breakfast one washer and dryer the downside the room had mold or stains in the bathroom the sheets had a hole and the sofa bed had stains. The pool feels like a sauna and it has a strong smell since it’s too hot in there

Property was clean was renovated the tub had big gauges in looked Ike someone dropped a hammer in it. small inside pool. breakfast was ok no waffles.... aww. The muffins were great Busy area shopping and restaurants. Our window was the view of Lowes. Thanks, We would stay again.

Not the cleanest or most updated Holiday Inn Express. Good location right off interstate. Staff at breakfast was a very nice & attentive lady.

When we arrived in our room there was a cockroach in it. We were told "when it rains, it happens", and they weren\'t going to do anything about it. Once we told them we needed a new room ,they did find us another room to stay in but there were no more suites so we had to downgrade and didn\'t get any money back.

Very clean and comfortable. Impressed with the design features and conveniences, such as plenty of outlets in room, lots of lighting, anti-fog mirror in bathroom, fan in bathroom, and other such things that are often missing in similar properties.

I have no complaints other than the walls are too thin. The African-American lady at the front desk was very nice at check-in and check out. I wish I would've got her name because she was super nice. The rooms and property were very clean. The beds were super comfy. I loved the LED looking mirror in the bathroom. I also loved that the bathroom had hand soap and lotion dispensers and the shower had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers.

We found dirty women’s underwear in the closet in our room. Told the front desk and they didn’t even have housekeeping get it, they just left it in there. Also you can berly hear the tv bc you can only turn it up so loud.

The hotel staff were nice but the property was dirty. There was a cockroach in my hotel room. I would not stay there again.

There was dried blood in the pillow, no blankets, pillows or linens provided. Food in "buffet" style was not great and a yogurt from the fridge we grabbed had an expiration date of 3/26/24.

Tv was not working properly and the shower would not drain the water. Slight carpet odor but not too bad. Only stayed one night.

The room and hotel in general were both very clean. The walls were thin, we could hear snoring from one side ant the tv from the other.

The property was nice but repairs are needed. My AC was leaking and the doors are unusually heavy. The faucet in the bathtub dripped and the toilet was not properly secured to the floor.

The only complaint I have is the thin walls. You can hear everything. But overall this was a good hotel.

Very clean and modern. Polite guest services and comfy beds and pillows. Had a fold out couch that was a really comfortable place to sit during the day or extra sleep room at night. My personal favorite was the amount of plug in's and USB receptables.

Decent location and average hotel. The rooms are ok, beds are comfortable but the walls were disgusting in the bathroom. Pool was very dirty. My issue was the front desk staff. As soon as I walked in George had a very rude and unprofessional first greeting of “if you’re trying to check in you have to wait 20 minutes.” Which is completely fine, but at least be welcoming and say hello. He has a horrible attitude for the hospitality business. Motioned for me to walk away with his hand like I’m below him. The next day our cards were deactivated and I had to go to the desk to get them turned back on, I can’t help but think it was intentional. I didn’t want to ruin the trip for my kids but I wish we would have found somewhere else to stay.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The property was very clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was incredibly quiet—perfect for a restful night. It’s conveniently located near shopping, restaurants, and has easy access to the expressway, which made getting around super simple. Check-in was a breeze, and every staff member I encountered—from the front desk to housekeeping—was polite, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. I would definitely stay here again!

the hotel gave my Reserved Room away

When entering the hotel, another couple had been sitting in the lobby waiting to check in. The young man working the from desk came around the corner and very rudely said “what do y’all need?” I told the lady to go first. She gave her name and said she was checking in. He asked for her name again very curtly. She spelled it. His tone and attitude was very poor. He said to me “now what about you?” I gave him my last name and said I was checking in. He didn’t hear my name so I repeated it a bit louder - not rudely, just louder. He yelled “call down man, I just asked for your name” very rudely. I told him “never mind, I’ll go somewhere else.” He said “fine, do that.” I stepped out and called IHG. They asked me to get the business card of the manager and to get the young man’s name. When I went back in to ask, he refused to provide either and said “have a good night sir, you can leave now.” He denied me the opportunity to check in. His attitude and behavior was unsettling and not typical for Holiday Inn. Expedia reached out to him to request a refund and he said “no way and I’ve placed him on the ‘do not rent’ list so he can never stay here. I’m the manager and that’s how it is.” I will not return to this property.

I booked a suite with multiple beds and sofa bed and they didn’t have the one that was booked available. The lady at the front desk was really nice and moved me and my friends into a king suite with sofa bed.

At check in, the front desk clerk gave me a key to an occupied room!! Ended up walking in on a naked women!!! Went back down to let them know and she acted like it was my fault….also the sink hadn’t been cleaned in awhile…other than that it served its purpose as a place to crash for the night!! Location seemed pretty safe. Breakfast was great!!

Great staff and very helpful

We were in town for a baseball tournament. Upon check in , we waited 30-40 minutes for a front desk person to arrive . I went looking for said person and when I came upon her I stated “we have been waiting 30-40 minutes and just need to get checked in” she replied “no ma’am , you haven’t waited that long, it’s only me here and I had to step away but you sure didn’t wait that long ma’am no you sure didn’t.” Very unprofessional and argumentative. I replied and said okay, you’re right 30 minutes isn’t THAT LONG. Meanwhile there were 6 people in the lobby waiting for her. Very rude and unprofessional, instead of saying I’m sorry about the wait, she wanted to give the rudest look and argue. Mind you there are cameras so I hope their boss watches the time away from the desk.

We stayed for one night while traveling. It suited our purpose just fine. It was very clean and conveniently located to the interstate, as well as dining options.

My family of 6 stayed at this hotel for a weekend stay. The room was not stocked with bedding for the let out couch. Instead of housekeeping bringing it, we had to go down to get it. We called down to the desk at 6 am to inform them the tub was stopped up and we were told maintenance wasn’t there. We asked to be moved to another room because we needed to take showers and we were told the hotel was sold out. From the looks of the parking lot and traffic at the hotel that couldn’t be the case. We were never contacted back to have someone fix it. The room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. One of the elevators were out of service the entire stay. The “hot” items for breakfast was room temp or cold and the coffee was terrible. For the amount we paid for the stay I was not impressed.
