We stayed here for quick trip to the beach. The location of hotel was great. The hotel itself was ok but not sure I would stay here again. Didn't have major issues with the hotel besides our door knob being semi broken. The guests that stayed same night with us were so bad. They like to stand outside and you can hear everything. It was so noisy so we didn't sleep good at all. Can hear everything above you. I also wish the employees would wear some type of uniform or even a Tshirt with hotel name. Also if you want ice, one ice machine is broken and the other, well you have to beat the people who are filling chests for fishing. Breakfast was ok.

The Inn was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and pool area was very clean. It’s quiet and there is a little BBQ area. Will stay there again. Free breakfast was very limited but its included in the price of the stay not complaining.

Didn’t Match the Photos — Needs Major Upkeep . We booked based on the photos showing bright blue walls and updated rooms, what we got looked nothing like that. The room was older, plain, and in clear need of maintenance. Check-in was quick, but they charged the first night a day early and added a $100 hold for incidentals at the desk. When we got to the room, the TV wasn’t even plugged in, and after a few trips to the front desk to get help, it finally worked, though it had a constant buzzing echo. The bathroom had visible water damage and mold near the shower, with sloppy caulking. Towels were folded nicely but looked dingy, not fresh. The bed was hard, and even though we booked a double, we only got one bed. The pool was tiny and had sketchy-colored water, and we skipped the free breakfast since it looked limited and unappetizing. Overall, staff were polite, but the property needs a serious refresh,cleaner rooms, maintenance, and more accurate photos of what guests can actually expect.

The recent 5 star reviews are all misleading. Dirty rooms - pubic hair on bathroom floor, old moldy peach round gummies in cabinet, dirty glassware. Internet doesn't work for any rooms except, conveniently, the front desk. More than $250/night for dirty room, no wifi, and cable tv that is small and barely works. Most channels do not work. Pool was green, hot tub empty. I came here based on the recent 5 star reviews, which were very misleading. Next time I visit Port A, I will spend more and go elsewhere.

The rooms are very old. If you’re looking for a bed and a closed door then this is your spot. Otherwise, it’s in poor condition. Breakfast was fine. Typical continental. Do not rent a cart from here. Out of six carts, only one had a beach pass on it. No Bluetooth or speakers. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

Easy check in, FANTASTIC location, mostly clean and comfortable room. There was some noise from the parking lot/pool but the A/c fan was enough to drown the sound so we could sleep. Breakfast was good (pretty standard) with fresh apple/banana, yogurt, something hot daily like pigs-in-a-blanket, and cereals/waffles, etc. Golf cart rental from the lobby was convenient and no hassle. Would stay heeds again. Good value!

Terrible Experience – Do Not Recommend This place was absolutely filthy. The carpets were dirty, the bathrooms were dirty , and the sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed – full of marks and unpleasant smells. I felt uncomfortable the entire stay. Definitely not worth the money. Avoid if you care about cleanliness.

Fridge, microwave were very dirty on the doors. Bathroom corners by floor were dirty. Last time we stayed, we had a room on the other side that was much nicer. Not sureee if we want to stay there again.

Upon entering the room, we were overcome with a smell of mold and mildew. After a small look around, I found the source to be the liner of the shower curtain. I turned on the fan in the bathroom and closed the door. That night was a horrible experience, not to mention the upstairs neighbor stomping constantly since 5am. The next morning, I went to the front desk to request a new room. The front desk said a new room would be ready by 12pm. Upon entering our new room, that familiar smell was apparent, but not as strong. I happen to see a housekeeper outside one of the other rooms and asked her about the curtain. She said she would take a look, and suggested that she would replace the shower curtain liner. She did, however the smell was still faintly present. This combination, the thin floors, uncomfortable beds, and mildew smell pretty much ruined our weekend.

There was a dirty wash rag in the bathtub when I first entered the hotel room. Also, there was a BIG problem with nat's/small flies in the bathroom area of the room. I reported this to the hotel employee, and they said that they would tell housekeeping about this problem. The hotel is in a good location, but my room was not clean.

Our room hadn’t been properly cleaned from the previous guest. shower was sandy and dirty there was random bits of cheese and other foods in the drawers of the room! House keeping didn’t really clean anything while we were there besides taking the bathroom trash and left coffee one day! But other than that it was a good stay just not very clean at all!!

We showed up around 6 in the afternoon just to check in an drop stuff off in the room, when we walked in it was really hot in there an the ac was on high but barely blowing, so I decided to go back to the office to let them know about it an they said they would have the maintenance go check it, so we left to enjoy the rest of the day and around midnight we cake back to find the room exactly the same hot, went back to the office an lady I had talked to was already gone, so the lady that was there told me that there were no rooms available to move me to so I told her I would need my money back so I could go elsewhere, so when I asked for my money back they sure did have a room available quick, we moved are stuff to the new room an it was the same way, by that time it was 3:45 in the morning, so I was real tired an they didn’t have no more rooms available so I didn’t sleep for the rest of the night, plus we had to be at dolphin docks at 7 for a fishing trip, I strongly recommend for no one to waste their time an money at that place

This place was truly a pleasant surprise! My husband and I and two of our large dogs stayed 5 nights just before Easter. The room size was more than generous compared to other motels/hotels, we loved that there was a full kitchen with all necessities, and the fact that there was a nice area to walk the dogs directly across from our room was perfect! We would not hesitate to stay again, and are already looking for dates for our next trip!

Pool was green, hot tub empty. I came here based on the recent 5 star reviews, which were very misleading. Next time I visit Port A, I will spend more and go elsewhere.

I voiced my concern to the clerk and she put me in another room where the AC was in working order. The location is good. I booked my stay for a Sunday, the rate was slightly under $100, however, when considering booking Saturday, I noticed that the rates were drastically higher, like over $300 for a Saturday night. I travel often and this motel is definitely not worth spending over $300 a night!

The rooms are very old. If you’re looking for a bed and a closed door then this is your spot. Otherwise, it’s in poor condition. Breakfast was fine. Typical continental. Do not rent a cart from here. Out of six carts, only one had a beach pass on it. No Bluetooth or speakers. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

Dirty , light bulbs !! None worked ! Or the outlets did not work. Carpets are disgusting . The woman at the desk was so unfriendly. We came in three times to check in and it was like we were inconveniencing her every time . THEN at 4 pm when we came back to actually check in , we were still bothering her and the fridge was defrosted so then she told us the fridge would be warm and it was . We had stuff to put in fridge so that was not awesome. The area is rough and a little scary . And the hotel changed our keys for second night without telling us . Once again , we asked them to reprogram them and it was an inconvenience and sent us away ! My husband went back and they handed us two new keys - no ID needed . My husband was very alarmed at the lack of security in this situation. And no , the man did not know who my husband was and what room we were in. My husband has a serious heart condition and asked the desk person if we could have a first floor room. And she said that would take 2 hours more work so no. Then as I mentioned, we got a room in the second floor with nothing working or clean with a hot fridge . Wow ! Pool was ok but hot tub looked disgusting. Nighttime no security and some people in the parking lot that did not belong there.

They didn't know this but it was our 49th wedding anniversary on Friday so Saturday they gave a gift that we'll always be thankful for. May God bless them & their family abundantly! The Alister is centrally located to everything in town, beach, parks, grocery store and of course the beach. It's not too fancy, but it is clean and spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and people watching those going up and down the main drag.

Expedia booked the wrong type of room is what we were told when our rooms didn’t match the description of what we reserved and paid for. One room was completely wet and smelled like a crime scene. The other just smelled really bad. The breakfast was horrible. No eggs.

Humble little hotel. No frills or thrills. The staff that I dealt with were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and up to date. Tile floors and flat screen television. The free breakfast was minimal. The choices were waffles, bagels, muffins and cereal. Choice of three juices and white milk. They do have two places to get coffee. You are not allowed to take any of the breakfast back to your room. It’s nothing fancy and I did honestly enjoyed the stay. I was in town for fishing with a friend. We just needed a place to come back to at the end of the day and take a shower and crash for the night. It was everything we needed.

Breakfast was good (pretty standard) with fresh apple/banana, yogurt, something hot daily like pigs-in-a-blanket, and cereals/waffles, etc. Golf cart rental from the lobby was convenient and no hassle. Would stay heeds again. Good value!
