The beach beds, the spicy margaritas, the very modern and clean fitness center, the spacious and upscale rooms, and the fresh and delicious seafood, was all incredible. The staff were exceptionally friendly and did their best to accommodate us. However, the layout of the property is extremely inconvenient and you were really beholden to golf carts picking you up to take you everywhere. I’m sure for some people it’s fine, but I would never go back.

This is a fantastic resort that I think anyone would love, and we certainly enjoyed our stay greatly. I believe it is truly a 5 star resort it has all the amenities you need with staff willing to go the extra mile to meet your needs. I would say the only knock against this resort and the reason i gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that it is just too spread out to be convenient. The hotel and staff have golf carts and bikes to solve the problem of getting from the beach area to the main part of the resort as well as other areas of the resort, but the beach area and main area of the resort are separated by about a mile and there is only so much that can be done to make this not a problem. Golf carts were readily available but there were mixups from time to time that are almost unavoidable given the size of the place and the lack of familiarity you have as a guest with the grounds that resulted in it taking over 30 minutes for us to get from our room to the tennis courts for instance. It just is a slight pain to have to rely on someone else to get around a resort which is probably 4 square miles in size. Also, a slight knock, the actual beach on this property just isn’t that nice of a beach. To prevent erosion and seaweed they have erected some rather unpleasant looking structures in the water which are eyesores as you look out on the ocean. And the beach itself is not terribly large or nice itself compared to other normal hotel beaches people are probably used to.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay, our suite with private pool was exceptional. The room had all the amenities you could want for. Bed was so comfortable. First night we ate on the beach, the shrimp in garlic was to die for. The second night we ate by the lagoon and had a chicken curry which again was very good. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Definitely return for a longer stay!!

Wow. once you figure out the maze of the jungle this place is laid out in it becomes a spectacular journey to dining and the beach each time. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are spacious and the beach is amazing. If they would add a beach vibey EDM DJ at the beach this place would be unbeatable.

El servicio ha sido deplorable durante toda la estancia: 1.- Más de 10 minutos para que te sienten en la mesa del desayuno. 2.- Si quieres un café, lo mejor es irlo a pedir directamente a la barra de las bebidas porque los meseros no recuerdan o no atienden la solicitud. 3.- Los carros para trasladarse dentro de la propiedad tardan muchísimo y encima mal encarados. En una ocasión olvidé algo en el cuarto y le pedí que me esperara y la respuesta fue: lo espero pero solo si se apura porque tengo prisa. 4.- El servicio en la playa es “self service”. Cada quien tiene que poner su toalla en los camastros, abrir su propia sombrilla y acercarse a los meseros para pedir algo. 5.- Y ya que pides, las bebidas son “al gusto”. Un día te traen tu bebida en un vaso menor a 250 mililitros y otro día, la misma bebida, en vaso globo, por el mismo precio. A una le echan mucho alcohol y a la otra nada. Muy al tanto y sin ningún tipo de estándar. 6.- En la zona de albercas cerca de los cuartos próximos a Casa Amate, ni medio mesero. Puedes estar ahí horas sin que te atiendan, Lo que tienes que hacer es caminar al restaurante para pedir una bebida que, aparte, va a llegar en 20 minutos. 7.- Varias veces no contestaron en el teléfono de recepción… En fin, muy triste su servicio, y mira que no te estás hospedando en cualquier hotel por el precio que cobran. Nada más pensar que su “noche mexicana” con tacos “all you can eat” cuesta $1,600 pesos y solo tiene 3 variedades: fríos y de mal sabor.

Andaz Mayakoba exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, everything was made conveniently available for us to have an incredibly relaxing and memorable vacation. The listing shows that is all inclusive. Upon arrival , I found out that the food and drinks were not included. The prices for food and drinks are high but they are of good quality. Each alcoholic drink is around $20. Please remove all inclusive from the listing.

loved the staff and the resort . Location & the friendliness of everyone that worked there. The one complaint is the cost of the food and drinks. At the Vegan Bar drinks are $25 each I ordered a virgin Mojito and they charged me the same price for that. lunch with a salad & a sandwich and 1 cocktail $100.00 by the pool or on the beach. If you can get all inclusive I would suggest you do that.

El hotel es muy lindo y el servicio inmejorable en cocina milagro sobre todo; los meseros donde tienen provisionalmente tinta de pulpo son menos atentos pero lo que daña la experiencia en el hotel es la calidad y el precio de la comida, es exagerados estos precios vs la calidad, nunca me habían cobrado tanto la comida en un hotel para recibir tan poco. Sotavento comida aceptable pero igual…. Precios abusivos. A pesar que me gusto no volvería.
