The hotel itself was very nice and very walkable to nearby restaurants; however, I arrived on a Friday night and was told that valet was full. I had to circle a nearby parking garage for nearly 30 minutes to eventually find a parking spot. It was a double parking spot (which required me to leave my keys with an attendant), but before getting that spot, I was initially told that I could not park there because I was "overnight" parking. I was eventually allowed to park there, but had to watch the parking attendants nearly get into a physical brawl to accommodate all of the vehicles needing to be parked. Upon making the trek with my luggage to Canopy, I was highly disappointed when the hotel clerk only said "sorry" regarding their valet service being at capacity and explaining it by saying that we had more guests check in than anticipated. There were no other complementary gesture or offer made. I expect when the hotel website notes that self-parking is unavailable and that valet will be, for it to actually be available. That certainly will make me question whether to stay at this property again because of the hassle with parking.

Despite early requests for an early check-in and coming back when they said they should have rooms around 1-2p, we couldn't check in until after 3p. Also, the gym has treadmills that sound like they're about to fall apart and several did not have TV screens that worked. Then a cleaner had to come in and vacuum while I'm working out... not ideal. Also, non-functioning ice machine and water filter on our floor. And even with that, you guys couldn't even provide 1 or 2 bottles of water?

The first picture you see is the nice picture showing the fire pit which was the deciding factor between this hotel and others. So we really only choose to is hotel for the fire pit on the roof top only. And to Check in and be told that “oh we don’t have the fire pits” was very disappointing on so many levels. 1, the rate was much higher than other hotels around so I’m think okay well they have more amenities so we don’t mind paying a little more to get what we wanted and don’t let me get started on the “queen beds” which seem to be more like a twin bed.

Beautiful hotel, great location, clean rooms, and the shower is fantastic! The only negative was it has the worst elevator system I’ve ever seen. You have to select the desired floor outside on a touch pad and then scan your hotel key. It would say access denied. We would rescan and then it would direct you to another elevator. We were on the 7th floor and on 3 occasions the elevator opened and took us to the wrong floor, I guess the 7th floor selection wasn’t accepted. Just keep it simple with the buttons inside the elevator, the would be recommended to improve the experience.

The hotel location was great. We were in town for a concert two blocks away and had a corner room with a view. The hotel was undergoing renovations and there were some issues with hot water but the hotel went above and beyond to make it right with us. Valet parking was a little high but you are paying for the convenience. There are several great restaurants and The Anthem is a block away. Will definitely stay here in the future.

Our room wasn’t clean and we reserve a king bed room and the room they gave us was queen and when I asked the front desk they told me that is the king bed and we have a king bed at our house and we know how a king bed size is. The comforter was too light weight for winter stay and when we asked for blanket they gave us some very thin blanket. Our room bathroom and carpet wasn’t clean at all and even the bed cover have lots of spot in it. The hotel front desk were not nice every time we asked for something. I definitely won’t recommend this hotel and we reserved this hotel based on the reviews and we are disappointed. The area is beautiful and a lot of good options for food

The hotel itself was very beautiful. However, I was taken aback by stains on the chaise and carpet. I reported it to two employees that stopped by to inspect something and heard nothing else aside from they are cleaning the carpet soon. The room view was a beautiful city view. I’m Weirdly disappointed considering the price.

Staff was friendly and responsive especially to helping with needs such as how to get around on the Metro, but this definitely was not a Hilton level property. Bed linens were warn and tattered. One day we requested a room servicing specifically because the floor needed to be vacuumed and when we returned it clearly had not been vacuumed. The was visible clumps of dirt still on the floor. I reported it and a vacuum was dropped off at the room which did not function…perhaps it is the one the housekeeping person used that day…

TV didn\'t work. When we complained the first night, the attendant couldn\'t care less and simply stated that the place was full and she couldn\'t move us. She then sent a gentleman up with batteries for the remote - the wrong batteries and he couldn\'t fix the TV because "he is not an engineer." Even after getting the TV fixed 2 times, the air conditioner right over the bed was too loud to hear anything even on the highest setting. You can\'t switch the TV off or it won\'t work again - hence why we think the prior occupant unplugged the TV. When you put the cup under the coffee maker and selected the large cup feature, the cup overflowed and created a mess. Why then have the feature? When someone else turned water on in an adjoining room, it sounded like a baby screaming. We woke up several times thinking a child was in danger. It was an absolutely terrible stay, except for the location. I will never stay here again and will now never stay at a Hilton as a result.

The only drawback during my stay was the noise level; it was quite disruptive as sounds from outside my room could be heard at all hours of the night. This made it difficult for me to get a good night's sleep, leading to restless nights and interrupted rest. However, aside from that issue, I genuinely enjoyed my overall experience. Do not get scammed by the "Marina View" upcharge- it\'s an alley/ courtyard view. I went back to the desk and was told that only the suites have a Marina View and I could switch to a different room on the same floor, but it would have the same view. The Expedia listing states City View < Marina View in price. The room was also clean, but the furniture was edgeworn. Not a good stay for the high price (holiday weekend), IMO.

Had a very wonderful stay at the Canopy hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. We were there over the 4th of July and we couldn’t hear any noises in the hallways or anything. Very convenient to all attractions. Wharf area is beautiful with many different types of restaurants to choose from.

The location for the property was the only good thing about it. Theuy dining experience at the canopy bar was terrible. Despite having a reservation there was no one at the counter to assist with seating. The server took close to 45 minutes to take the order then came back to ask what we had ordered. Then we had another come to the table to ask if we had a reservation. The table we were seated at, had the son beating in our eyes. The blinds were broken and that didn’t help. In addition the server didn’t offer to change the seating despite seeing our discomfort. At check in for the room they were unable to locate the reservation. Requested for room service, we received the meal in takeaway boxes with plastic cutlery. The folk taking the order could barely speak / understand English.

Had the pleasure to spend our 6 year wedding anniversary staycation at the Canopy in The Wharf. Alex was great! He upgraded our room to a suite with an amazing view. The food, cocktails and hospitality was A1. Definitely will stay here again! Thanks again Alex!!!

The staff here was very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary bottle of wine When we needed extra time to checkout, they gladly extended to it. I also like how you can text at anytime and someone will respond.

The Wharf is a fantastic location to stay while visiting DC for pleasure. So many options for food, drinks, coffee and entertainment, all just steps away. The Canopy was modern, clean and easy to navigate. The staff were very friendly and helpful; no one that we spoke to seemed annoyed to be there. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant because we were surrounded by so many others, but we did visit the rooftop bar and loved the views. The room was clean and had a very hip decor. Only complaint was that the TV wasn’t working correctly; something about an outage for local stations. We chose to Uber to the Mall area, but there is a Metro station a 10 minute walk away, or rental electric bikes and scooters everywhere. Would 100% recommend this hotel.
