Hotel Gillow

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado, el personal amable, limpio, considero que si regresaría. El detalle esta en que esta muy descuidado, el elevador cuesta que esté disponible porque solo hay uno funcionando. La toalla de mi baño, estaba limpia pero rota, con hoyos.

Good location and value for money. Friendly staff. Purified water available. Great view of the goings on in the streets from the french door windows. Classic Art Deco style. Survived all the earthquakes.

Crítica constructiva, el hotel en general sí me gustó principalmente por su ubicación, pero no maneja opción de desayuno buffet incluido en el precio, probé un desayuno a la carta, jeje cambien de cocinero, no sabe a nada su platillo; uno de los dos elevadores aún está en reparación; en el último piso no funcionó el agua caliente, un día me bañé con el agua fria;

Hotel must have been quite nice and fancy a long time ago. In bad need of upkeep. Old room but bed was comfortable. I appreciated having purified water and ice stations on every floor so that you can refill bottles every morning before going out for the day. Breakfast was OK. Considering the price, it was acceptable for a few nights

Hotel does not offer a shuttle service.

En esta ocasión nos tocó que el hotel solo tenía un elevador ya que el otro estaba fuera de servicio durante toda nuestra estancia por mantenimiento, la habitación original que se nos asignó estaba hasta el fondo en el 6 piso y nos tuvieron que cambiar por un problema de sanidad a otra habitación mejor y con terraza, mejor iluminada y bien ventilada. Excelente atención de la señorita de recepción y una excelente atención en el Restaurante con una buena gastronomía muy recomendable. Su ubicación es excelente para caminar en el Centro Histórico de la CDMX.

Les employés sont très gentils et l’hôtel est bien situé. C’est bruyant à la fois à l’extérieur et à l’intérieur. Le design de l’hôtel fait que le bruit voyage beaucoup entre les étages. Un seul ascenseur fonctionne ce qui fait qu’on l’attend longtemps. La chambre était vieillotte.

For many years, I brought student groups to this hotel. I had not been here for 17 years. Several upgrades have been made, including Internet in the rooms (though it is a bit slow) and air conditioning. There are also in-room safes now.This staff continues to be friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant downstairs, which makes me to order breakfasts. The location can’t be beat!

Being right in the Historic Center makes this hotel a very good option. Easy to walk everywhere, staff are nice and overall good value for the price. The reason I gave overall 4 stars was because they have no airport shuttle, which was important to me on this trip. I specifically looked for shuttle services hotels when doing my search on Expedia and this came up as an option was in reality, they do not offer it. Aside from that, I have no complaints

El cuarto en muy Chico y le falta mucho mantedimiento, el bano super sucio. Les pedi la recepcion, que me cambiaran de cuarto, les dije los motivos, y me cobraron dinero extra, para cabiarme. El segundo cuarto al cual me movieron estaba un poco mas grande, pero el bano muy sucio, el lavavo quebrado, la tina de la banera segun era blanca pero en realidad estaba negra de sucia y con mojo. No me vuelvo a ospedar en ese hotel, y no lo recomiendo. Lo que pague no los vale.

Personal amable, limpieza al 100

La cercanía a todo del centro, camas cómodas, cuartos limpios y ordenados, baño limpio y todo arreglado.

La ropa de cama totalmente sucia, manchada de grasa y polvo, no la cambian solo la voltean, no dejan toallas suficientes para la cantidad de personas hospedadas, negocios ruidosos que no paran hasta horas de la madrugada, el baño con manchas de hongos, cortinas sucias, piso de duela en mal estado, sin personal en la cocina.

Pues había muchas cucarachas pequeñas en el baño. La habitación era 509. Quizá sería bueno que fumigaran.

Everything was good exept the musky smell in the room mostly at night. don't know if it was the previous clients or the ghost of the original owner Mr. Gillow. The pillows need to be replaces. But very good location!! Would stay again!!

Great experience with open balcony. Room was a bit small but compensated by balcony and great overall service.

Great location, one street from Zocalo and Allende metro station, plenty of eateries and shopping. We were given the room at the front of the hotel, 3 floors up, which was noisy due to road traffic. We needed earplugs to sleep. No air conditioning, and no amenities such as coffee machine or kettle. Overall, an acceptable pied du terre.

Was allocated top floor with balcony , hot and no A/C . Upon request manager arranged an alternate floor with a/c.

I like the location. It is very close to the zocalo and Palacio de Bellas Artes. A little noisy early in the evening because of the traffic. Room was too close to the street. Also, Hotel Gillow needs to upgrade rooms so visitors can connect USB cables and more power outlets.

Not quiet. But it is very good near every thing.

No ac. The room was hot. You had to open the balcony doors to let the cool air in (and all the street noise) middle of downtown and busy street so it was loud till 3am

The hotel was nice and clean. The staff was very nice. Angeles our server in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Took great care of me and my father. Short walk to Zocalo. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a great location and the staff were very helpful. I would stay at the hotel again in the future.

Staff were very friendly and helped in anyway they could. We arrived an hour early for check in and they let us in at no additional cost. Room was clean and beds comfortable. We also enjoyed the restaurant on site. The location is great forntouring the historical centre.

Si no dejas la propina que es voluntaria te la reclaman como si fuera obligatoria. Mal servicio en el restaurante. Eso si no de todos los empleados.

Excelente ubicacion

Fué complicado llegar hasta el hotel. El taxi nos dejó a dos cuadras, por el tráfico. Por lo demás, es un hotel maravilloso, en pleno centro histórico. El desayuno muy rico.

This was a great property to explore the historical district of Mexico City. Claudia at the front desk was an absolute gem as was the cleaning staff, sorry I didn’t get her name. The restaurant attached was fantastic and couldn’t have been more helpful. My one warning, if you are a lite sleeper the street noise can be a bit over the top. It did get “ quiet” by 11 and was back at it by 600. I would return.

Very close to all the landmarks.

The hotel staff was friendly. The room was clean and tidy, but had limited amenities. The area surrounding the hotel was noisy and dirty with a lot of people, so we didn’t feel the safest going out after dark. However, if you’re looking for a stay in the historic city center, you’re within walking distance of many top attractions, which might be perfect for your travels. Overall, we would recommend this hotel.

I liked the hotel. It was clean, looked nice and the staff were all so kind and friendly. Also the cab service was so nice and they gave great activity and food recommendations. Angie in the restaurant always went above and beyond when she served our breakfast. She is kind, friendly and very attentive.

Nice hotel. Good staff. Great location. Only downside was no free coffee/tea available except during breakfast. Breakfast was very good; but service in dining room was slow.

Perfect localization, good breakfast

Muy bien estancia. Llegamos temprano y les dieron una habitacion perfecta con balcon. El desayuno era excellente. Eramos cuatro personas. Personel muy amables. Lo unico malo fue que las llaves no funiconaba.

He visitado el Hotel en otras ocasiones. Generalmente contaba con habitaciones más grandes a disposición. Entiendo que se nos asignó una mucho más pequeña y esta bien. Solo que algunos focos de luz lo funcionaban en la habitación. Punto aparte es el restaurante. Descubrí que el desayuno no es más buffet. También la calidad de la atención bajó muchísimo. Paso de ser un buen servicio a que te despachen. "son booking" nos dice la mesera sin presentarse y nos deja dos yogures y un plato de fruta que la frescura la perdió hace horas. Le pregunta que desea tomar a mi pareja y se va dejándome con la palabra en la boca. Sirve el café aguado y mi pareja le solicita un poco de leche eso ya esta fuera del servicio nos dice. Nos sirve un vasito de "jugo de naranja" prácticamente transparente, el cual era más agua que jugo . Luego pasa a tomar con sus manos(?) 3 panes, los pone en una canasta y agrega unos sachets de jaleas. Lo deja en la mesa sin decir nada. Luego nos dice que el desayuno incluido es "de acá hasta acá" seleccionamos un platillo cada uno. Los sirve y cuando voy por mi segundo bocado la veo corriendo hacia mi para retirarme el plato, obviamente se equivoco de mesa. La miró y le pregunto "dejo de comer"? Me mira y se da vuelta, como reseteado su mente. Terminamos de "desayunar" y los retiramos. Al otro día no volvimos a pasar por el restaurante a pesar de que teníamos el consumo pagado. Al retirarnos los vales de desayuno que no utilizamos. Extrañé al Gillow de antes.

Fueron muy amables. El hotel es super céntrico, si vas a estar por el zocalo. En cuestión de la estancia, la cama estaba un poco incomoda, el piso se escuchaba flojo y el bufet muy simple. De ahi en adelante todo muy bien.
