The Charles Hotel

We parked on their rear carpark and as a regular business traveller, I diligently and carefully completed their paper parking form with our vehicle details - Only three weeks later to find a PNC for £100.... (it being dated as 30th June arriving on the 11th June?) I rang and spoke to three different people " The Managers not here, Someone will call you back, I can't deal with this!" the usual excuses when no one intends to do anything! So I emailed them after each call only to have the given email address enquiries@ Then also emailed, directly and through their portal and again without any response! Given this attitude receiving this treatment faced with this type of practiced responses its a regular thing they are facing...

Lovely shower , clean room , nice and quiet

This hotel is perfectly positioned for everything you need to do or find, staff are amazing, I've got a speak problem and they where happy to help me, I would 100% stay there again

Please note that the stairs from the car park to the back of the hotel are not for the faint hearted in rain! Metal circular stairs with a tight wind is not something that is fun with baggage. Similarly the stairs to my room were also quite tight with baggage. This is important for many to note. I was on the 2nd floor. But the bigger issue for me was the shower. I did not raise this with reception as it was nearly midnight at the time. The shower temperature fluctuated between scalding (highly dangerous) to very cold regardless of what I did. I managed to negotiate the time as it moved from one to the other in order to shower but as it was very weak it was not a great experience. On a positive note, the room was clean, tidy and with plenty of sockets.

Budget two nights but having no hot water until a staff member came to the room with a drill and screwdriver to sort was not great. The shower pressure was very poor also. Dog smell on the stairs up to the room in the hotel. It states on the hotel facilities an iron and ironing board. What I was given to use was shocking and the iron ended up marking my shirt. I appreciate it was cheap but I will nevwe stay here again.
