This was a beautiful property located at the entrance of a university The staff was very friendly The bus stop is literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel The bus will get you into the center of Edinburgh near the castle in 30-45 minutes for 2 pounds Plenty of parking if you drive there Lots of walking trails at the university for fitness The hotel restaurant had delicious breakfast and dinner options Great bartenders

I enjoy staying at this hotel. Great ground floor layout, meeting areas, good food, staff etc. Would love a gym and some fresh air in rooms, but overall great. Quite a way from City Centre if that's important, Uber good, or bus if you're a busser.

Good quality business style hotel equally good for relaxing in on a leisure trip. All service attention was good. Room was good but with poor lighting to the desk/work area. Coming to a late breakfast at 09.30 for a 10.00 finish, it seemed to be that some items had no longer been replenished, e.g. cold meats/bacon. Guess one could go off to find staff and ask, but shouldn't have to. Nice location/setting with possibility to stroll out around greenery of the campus. Good, free parking right next to the hotel. Food available on site with a good bar. Food was average but not excessively priced. Hotel itself was a little pricey, but as said good quality generally,

Very friendly and informative check-in experience, but the room we were initially allocated on the third floor was not accessible as new carpets were being laid, so we couldn't even get out of the lift. Luckily, another room was available on the second floor so they were able to move us. Room was comfortable with plenty of space, bathroom was clean but the shower wasn't great - lacking in water pressure. Other than that, it was a pleasant place to sleep. The bar and restaurant area was nice, if a little expensive for drinks. Bar staff were, again, excellent. However, breakfast was poor. Good selection of food, but the quality fell far below the standards we expected. We also had dinner there on our first night and, again, the quality was sub-standard. As for location, the surroundings were very nice, probably helped by the majority of the university students having headed home for the summer! The hotel was a little further from Edinburgh city centre than we thought, but 20-25 minutes in an Uber wasn't too bad. Overall, a decent place to stay and the staff were first class. Just a shame the food was disappointing.

Paid for a king size bed got two beds pushed together. Kept pushing away when sleeping. Room had the previous guest pizza left in it. Told staff, they wernt really fussed.

Conveniently located hotel for our pit stop trip to Edinburgh. Around 10 minutes in an Uber from the airport. As friendly as the staff were, unfortunately the hotel left a lot to be desired. We wanted an easy, clean stay, to be expected from a 4 star hotel. The lobby was filthy upon checkout this morning . The carpets hadn’t been properly cleaned in the room. A small compromise but what I cannot compromise on is a good night sleep and the very basics weren’t good enough, uncomfortable pillows and very average mattress. A shame because we stay with Marriott in many cities.

Everything was very clean the only thing I thought could have been better was the toilet seat, it has a yellow tint on the inner rim. There also weren't any wash cloths & had to go buy one.

They didn’t properly clean our room (they would make the bed but didn’t take out the trash). The shower wall only covers half the wall, so water leaks - we mopped it up with towels but they never replaced the towels. We didn’t know we had to place the key in the wall to turn on the electricity, the staff who showed us was a bit condescending.

Situated perfectly in a quiet spot on the grounds of the university campus, we took andvantage of a woodland walk 1 minute from the hotel entrance. extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Room was very clean and spacious with a stunning bathroom having both a bath and large shower. Breakfast was a delight with plenty of options to choose from. My only complain would be the pillows are way too soft with little support for your head. Room was expensive as we didn’t realise when booking the Edinburgh Fringe Festival was on which I dare say increased the normal room tariff considerably

Poor sleep due no natural ventilation. Without air conditioning it was far too hot and with air conditioning you have all the discomforts that it offers. Too cold, too dry, too noisy, too needy, etc.

Sadly disappointed. We arrived only to be told after 5 hours of stuffy hot room that’s the air conditioning was not functioning in the hotel. Given the standards of the Marriott, I would have expected to be told that upon arrival so that if I wanted to explore another option. I would have had the choice, instead none given, instead had a horrible headache induced night due to the room being so hot and stuffy!! Would not stay again!!

The room was very clean with a spacious bathroom, with complimentary shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Had air conditioning which warmed the room very well and cooled it down when needed. The mattress was very deep and comfortable, with a good quailty mattress topper and bedding. The only thing that was disappointing was the tv. This only had basic channels and was very small in comparison to the size of the room. I would have thought with it being a 4 star hotel it would have had a smart tv so you could watch thing's like Netflix, itv x, I player. The only app available was you tube.

The hotel is not near anything-petrol, food, etc., but within 5-10 minutes driving. We stayed only for one night prior to a flight. The hotel is modern and the room was spacious. My only complaint is that I do not understand the design of frosted glass doors and walls for a bathroom. The bathroom doors had inch wide openings, which leaves zero privacy. I could see the TV from the shower through the crack. A design I’ll never understand and don’t know how it caught on.

Service was good as was parking. Room smelt slightly of smoke and every time the toilet was flushed there was a loud cistern noise which lasted for 1 minute, this noise also applied when other rooms flushed there toilets. So as you can imagine very noisy during the night, so we didn’t have a good nights sleep.

Overall everything is good, staff is also friendly. However I got the problem that there was no hot water on the first night…I tried to call the service desk for a few times but the phone seems not connecting to anyone. When I went to the front desk one of the staff told me the problem was due to the boiler, I understood that it might not be solved soon as it was 11pm already, but I was not given any alternatives, and I’m not sure if it is really just a problem for my room or for others as well as I dun see other people complaining. The second day the problem was fixed, however the water was still not hot enough, the water power was also rather weak. I gave me comment when I left the hotel. Hopefully it will be better next time.

Matthew was amazing!! He took the time to get to know us and always had a smile for us. He is knowledgeable and willing to assist in any way possible. The hotel room was clean and quiet. The hotel restaurant had great food. The hotel is only a 20-25 min bus ride to the City Center, so very easy. We loved the hotel and would highly recommended.

Initially, I was disappointed with my hotel selection as this hotel is a fair way out of town, but, as it is near the university, and adjacent to a park & ride location, the buses run every 10 minutes. The distance from the city was not an issue for us. Parking was included - bonus, and being on the outskirts of town made it easier for us to travel up further into Scotland on day trips without fighting city traffic. Access to downtown Edinburgh was easy - 40 minute bus ride. Room was good - roomy - comfy bed - air conditioning. Buffet breakfast was same/same as other hotels. No complaints - full range of options. The dinner options at their onsite restaurant are limited. We opted to stay in town later at night at eat at a Pub in town. The buses ran late into the evening. Overall, good place to stay. Only downside is there are no dining options close by. I would happily stay at this hotel again.

This was a good option coming in late from the airport but there is no shuttle and it is farther than other airport hotels. That said, the hotel is nice and public transportation into Edinburgh is excellent. A good and less expensive option if you don't mind being half an hour from the city.

The hotel was a bit off the beaten path so we were a little uneasy about staying at the Marriott Edinburgh hotel. But there was a bus stop about 100 yards from the hotel. The 25 bus went right into Edinburgh and it took about 35 minutes which I thought was nice. The hotel itself was right in a college campus so it had a good energy about it. The room was great. The breakfast was reasonable for $10 pounds and the bar area was convenient. Would recommend if you don't mind taking a bus into Edinburgh.

Although hotel is far from center city , public transportation was readily available and had day passes for about the same amount of round trip tickets. Busses also accepted credit cards. Hotel was very helpful and knowledgeable of the bus routes.

The hotel was in a good location. Quiet lication. Good parking. Staff very polite and service was good for diner. The Food was was less great. Breakfast was a buffet. Cold bacon, cold sausage and cold beans. No temperaturecontrol at all. Very disappointing. Hard fried eggs that had not been refreshed. Diner the night before was very ordinary curry from a microwave, again not heated properly. Shame the food let the hotel down as i would have used the hotel again.
