교토 서부여행 중, 아라시야마 치쿠린 여행을 목적으로 2박을 이용하였습니다. 숙소 인근에 저녁식사를 할만한 곳이 없다는 단점은 있으나, 편의점(로손)이 크게 있고, 아라시야마를 걷거나 차를 이용해 10분 내외로 갈 수 있습니다. 무료로 주차 예약이 가능하고, 친절한 직원들이 인상적입니다. 다만, 인룸다이닝 없는 부분이 다소 불편하지만, 아기와 함께 이용하기에는 편리합니다. (장난감이 객실에 비치되어 있음)

Very spacious and clean. Modern style with exposed concrete walls. Amenities include free coffee and tea in the lobby and toiletries include hair ties in the room. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was excellent and included yogurt parfait, egg, waffle, salad, sausage, bacon and a drink. Very friendly staff with personalized note in the room and thank you upon check out. Traditional robes for each person included on each bed including the kids. Only downside - no elevators, also a bit of a walk (15-20 min) to temple and bamboo garden and JR but nice to be a little out of the way from the most touristy street.

Quiet and spacious room, the only thing that bother me was there was no elevator in the hotel. So we had to walk 3 floors to our room, as far as baggages, no worry, the friendly staff will help. Will choose to return.

Greeted very kindly and helped to our spacious room which we were so happily able to get into an hour early. This was our fifth hotel in the Kansai area and it was a treat to be able to experience more of an apartment type feel and have so much space to spread out. Loved the bed and down comforter after a long day of walking! It was great to have access to water and a coffee machine in the lobby. Breakfast was very good although my husband and I thought the waffles were too dense and sweet…tasted more like a dessert. The location was within 10-20 minutes walking distance to all the major sites in Arashiyama and your luggage can be held until 4pm after your checkout. It took care of one more thing we would have to think about in order to better enjoy our trip. The only comment I would make is to check all the doors/gate hinges for excessive squeaking. I felt bad whenever we had to open certain ones because they were so loud especially very early in the morning. Otherwise we’re glad we stayed here and appreciated the sincerity of the staff.

We loved it! What a great hotel - staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in the restaurant downstairs was excellent, loved the gourmet waffles! And the room .. wow. It was very spacious and the layout and decor were beautifully minimalist. Also had sliding glass doors that opened onto a balcony. We also enjoyed the rooftop patio with couches, tent and great views. Very convenient to walk to from station and as easy walk to bridge/river. I would gladly stay here again … absolutely loved it!!

Spacious and clean room with two beds and mini kitchen area. Less than 10 minute walk from the Arashiyama train station and about 25 minute walk to bamboo forest. Property also has bikes available so we rode bikes to the train station by the bamboo forest and walked over. Breakfast was included and decent. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Need to hop on a train to get in order to get to Nishiki market and Pontocho area.

Location was ideal, close to shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator available. The rooms are small and storage is limited. Also, not many power outlets to charge phones. Breakfast was included and it was fantastic. By far the best breakfasts we had during our vacations. Getting taxis and Uber was cumbersome. Overall it was a good experience. I would recommend it.

Great location for Arashiyama sightseeing, with a nearby bus station that can be used for connecting (no transfer needed) to Kyoto station or Kiuomizu-dela. Room is spacious and clean, toilet and shower/bathroom are very comfortable. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: design for the beds is suboptimal- the wooden base/legs are short (so the bed is too low for me) and the corners are protruding (easy to kick them when you walk around and it is very painful if you kick). Another minor thing is the accessibility to the breakfast restaurant in downstairs -it would be nicer if it can be accessed from inside the building or through a covered entrance especially in rainy weather.

Property is well maintained, toilet is clean . Only shortfall is that there no lift and I have 3 big luggage. Breakfast is standard , would have gone out to search if not for the freezing weather . Free Parking right in front of property is a plus

The room is GrandWest is very clean, spacious and comfortable, with a Japanese modern style. We love it. The property is very close to the Arashiyama train station, 6 mins walk. The room was so clean and spacious. The beds were comfortable, sleep was effortless. So many amenities were offered and added to the experience. Breakfast down stairs was good, the cafe is cozy. This was the most kid friendly hotel I’ve been to, we are booking this hotel for the rest of our stay.

We absolutely loved everything about this hotel! The location is perfectly tucked away off the beaten path—peaceful and quiet, yet still convenient. The room was spacious and the beds were incredibly comfortable. To top it off, the breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. Highly recommend!

Location was ideal, close to shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator available. The rooms are small and storage is limited. Also, not many power outlets to charge phones. Breakfast was included and it was fantastic. By far the best breakfasts we had during our vacations. Getting taxis and Uber was cumbersome. Overall it was a good experience. I would recommend it.

Great location for Arashiyama sightseeing, with a nearby bus station that can be used for connecting (no transfer needed) to Kyoto station or Kiuomizu-dela. Room is spacious and clean, toilet and shower/bathroom are very comfortable. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: design for the beds is suboptimal- the wooden base/legs are short (so the bed is too low for me) and the corners are protruding (easy to kick them when you walk around and it is very painful if you kick). Another minor thing is the accessibility to the breakfast restaurant in downstairs -it would be nicer if it can be accessed from inside the building or through a covered entrance especially in rainy weather.

Modern hotel with old Japan touches. Loved the yakata robes and tatami mat floors. Most comfy Japanese hotel bed ever. The cafe that serves breakfast below was amazing and I loved the quiet location in Arashiyama. It was an easy 15 minute walk to the river.

Greeted very kindly and helped to our spacious room which we were so happily able to get into an hour early. This was our fifth hotel in the Kansai area and it was a treat to be able to experience more of an apartment type feel and have so much space to spread out. Loved the bed and down comforter after a long day of walking! It was great to have access to water and a coffee machine in the lobby. Breakfast was very good although my husband and I thought the waffles were too dense and sweet…tasted more like a dessert. The location was within 10-20 minutes walking distance to all the major sites in Arashiyama and your luggage can be held until 4pm after your checkout. It took care of one more thing we would have to think about in order to better enjoy our trip. The only comment I would make is to check all the doors/gate hinges for excessive squeaking. I felt bad whenever we had to open certain ones because they were so loud especially very early in the morning. Otherwise we’re glad we stayed here and appreciated the sincerity of the staff.

We loved it! What a great hotel - staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. Breakfast included in the restaurant downstairs was excellent, loved the gourmet waffles! And the room .. wow. It was very spacious and the layout and decor were beautifully minimalist. Also had sliding glass doors that opened onto a balcony. We also enjoyed the rooftop patio with couches, tent and great views. Very convenient to walk to from station and as easy walk to bridge/river. I would gladly stay here again … absolutely loved it!!

The room is GrandWest is very clean, spacious and comfortable, with a Japanese modern style. We love it. The property is very close to the Arashiyama train station, 6 mins walk. It is also very close to the shopping downtown place, walkable maybe around 10 minutes walk. Property is at a very convenient location. The customer service is also very good. Excellent overall.

Our stay at the GrandWest Arashiyama was exceptional. The room was spacious and clean, reception was incredibly helpful, and the location was quiet and idyllic. During our stay we made the most of the amenities including free refreshments, a washing/drying machine, and a cute cafe situated just downstairs from the hotel entrance. Our stay here was easily one of the best parts of our trip to Japan and I highly encourage those visiting Arashiyama to consider this hotel!

First and foremost, the entire staff was absolutely fantastic and made our stay wonderful. They were so helpful and kind from the very beginning. The hotel is in a great location, very clean, cold water bottles always available, very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. There's a small mart down the street and you can walk/e-bike within minutes to major attractions, beautiful temples and Edo period streets. 10/10
