Property was great. However, entrance to property is poorly located. Construction in front of hotel and no direct entrance available to enter from main road. Hotel did not have body wash/soap. Had to go buy my own for the 3 day stay. No complimentary water.

Everything was fine except the shower was dirty and surfaces around the room had not been cleaned... water marks from glasses etc. I did go to walmart to get cleaning supplies and cleaned it myself as housekeeping was not available. The front desk gentleman was nice and said he would discount the room. I have not checked to see if that was actually done.

Property was mostly fine. Our room was clean. However, the biggest drawback was that it smelled like someone had a hookah party in it the day before. We arrived late and didn't feel like switching rooms so we blasted the fan on high for a couple of hours to air it out. Price was right for a hotel in the Duluth area in June. If it stays that way might stay here again. If not...probably not.

Handicapped accessible room was spacious. Relatively comfortable beds. No walk in shower, but tub level was pretty low. Odd smell in the room - carpet needed more than vacuuming - bare feet got dirty very quickly.

Generally clean and quiet. Nice area. Lacks attention to details. Dirty glass at the entrance doors. Spills in vestibules day after day. Our commode had some serious filth in the seat hardware. Bedding was clean. No mold in the bathroom. Room smelled fresh. Breakfast area very clean. Decent food offerings. The dirty commode was a complete failure for us, as it was plainly visible.

Bed sheets and comforter appeared to not have been changed. Multiple strands of Human hair when comforter was pulled back. Many makeup smudges on the comforter as well. Big orangish/reddish streak on one ottoman. Some large whitish stains on pullout couch. About 40-50 kids running amok throughout the propert throughout the night.. Cannot fault staff as it was mainly lackluster parenting to put it mildly. On a positive note, front desk John and front desk Hunter were very helpful and friendly. We had an early check-in which possibly resulted in an unchanged clean bed, but that is speculative. Pretty place nice place minus the kids trashing every hallway. Morning breakfast was good.

The couch was dirty. The room was incredibly small with no views out the one small window. The mattress was firm and slid around. The bathroom door is a rolling door. If you aren’t looking for much…this would be fine!

The room was very clean and the amenities were very good. The staff member at the desk tried very hard to get a room with a view. We were pleased with the view of the bay. The only concern we had was the bed was a little hard but each person likes their own softness when it comes to bed mattress. All in all I would highly recommend this facility to family and friends.

Breakfast was lacking flavor. Why have all hotels removed tasty options from their menus? Wonderful blackout shades in the room. Not sure why the air conditioner was on in the room when we checked in. It took quite a while to warm up the room and all of the furnishings.

Very nice room, comfy bed, huge shower, lots of space in room. One of the nicest we\'ve stayed at. Only knocks are very loud "explosive" toilet flush. Also didn\'t care for sliding barn door that served double duty for bathroom and closet. A little noisy and heavy. Would prefer regular hinged door for bathroom especially. The best provided breakfast we\'ve ever had in a hotel.

Bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. The pillows were down pillows which flatten in no time. Bathroom door didn’t shut all the way. Toilets are obnoxiously loud when flushed, so if you have to flush in the middle of the night you and anyone in the room are now awake. Breakfast was ok I guess.

The hotel itself was fine- clean, comfortable. Check in staff made me feel like second rate citizen because we were booked through Expedia. No you can’t be on first floor not in your room plan; our room was adjacent to the elevator hub so we could hear it whenever it was used. No glassware except coffee cups - not good for a glass of wine. Basic towels two each

Our first time ever staying at the Hampton Inn and it was excellent. A clean and seemingly well kept establishment. The rooms are functional. Great tv options not cable. Friendly staff. Our stay was a simple overnight and we were not in the room the whole time, but we will definitely return as we appreciated that it is more affordable and did not sacrifice quality.

Parking was convenient. At 3pm check-in, the front desk staff member (her badge read “The Debster”) informed me that my room wasn’t ready and promised to call my cell phone once it was available. After waiting without receiving a call, I returned to the front desk at 3:30pm only to discover my room had been ready with no notification. During check-out on Thursday morning (7:00-7:30am), I found the same staff member smoking with two colleagues directly by the main entrance. I had to interrupt their break to request assistance with check-out and obtaining a printed receipt (which she was unable to provide since “the room was booked via a 3rd party”. My dog-friendly room contained dog treats left under the desk by previous guests. Fortunately, I noticed them before my dog could access them, as my dog has food allergies.

Great accommodation for anyone running Grandmas! Really thoughtful. Staff were all wearing Grandmas shirts. They had welcome bags for runners, to go breakfast bags in the AM and had opened breakfast up at 4am. Would def stay here again for race weekend.

The hotel was clean and has everything you need for a short stay. When we arrived, there was nobody at the front desk. We had to wait a long time (people were ahead of us and had also waited a long time), in fact, I had to knock on the laundry room and office doors as I could hear someone in the locked rooms. A few minutes after knocking, somebody finally came out to help us. This happened the last time we stayed there as well. Perhaps the front desk person could have a walkie talkie and guests could call them, if they are forced to be away from the desk? The sign said they were helping a guest, but they were not. They were in a back room.

The breakfast was wonderful! The breakfast area was very nice with plenty of seating. The 65 degree temperature was chilly though. The location was great! Nearby walking trail along Lake Superior and many restaurants nearby. The tour of the Whaleback ship was interesting!!

Clean room. Bathroom bar door had a bracket at top that made closing and opening difficult. Bath door does not close completely so noise and light come though. Did not care for the selection of breakfast foods. Good coffee.

Overall, the stay was good. The room could be a little cleaner like wiping down the light switches, the chairs in the room had crumbs on them and the doorhandles hand smudges all over. The toilet flush was unbelievably loud and would wake up everybody in the room. Some positives, the continental breakfast in the morning was overall pretty good and all of the staff was friendly.
