Booked this hotel to be near the London Tower which it was. This was to be a luxury hotel but it definitely was not. We were traveling with the family and had thirteen bags which they saw when we did an early bag drop. When our room was ready they put us in the basement. The basement room had no elevator to get down to it. Instead we had to carry all 13 suitcases down tiny little steps. It was a hot day for London close to 99 degrees. The room we were given had not windows safe to open and no air conditioning. We roasted in the room. It only had one fan for two separate rooms. The pillows were flat and when we asked for more pillows the lady at the desk said they didn't have any. Imagine a hotel with no spare pillows. The bed was hard, and the shower would go hot then cold.

Upon arrival at the hotel, we were informed that our room was not located in the main building, requiring an inconvenient drive to a separate facility. What awaited us was far from the advertised experience. The room resembled a prison cell, a stark contrast to the images online. The sleeping arrangements were cramped and impractical, forcing us to climb over a double bed to access the bunk bed – a completely unexpected feature for three adults, and one that was deliberately omitted from the promotional photos. Communication with the front desk proved difficult due to our remote location. While the bathroom was adequate, the lack of soap was a basic amenity that was surprisingly absent. At check-in - I was asked to go to their 2nd building - a 5 minute walk away - to a room over a Turkish restaurant. It looked nothing like the room online that I thought I booked, it was just an old a room in an old building where I went on to spend a sleepless night due to the noise from occupant of the room next door - sounded like he was a resident of the old building, not a guest.

waiting 20 minutes to get in in rain at 8pm..and then a guest let me in...20 more mins to get someone at reception. checkout time 8am ..no one at reception..power cut on that floor too...what a terrible place. small bed in length and external noise too.

I didn't realize that it was not a hotel but a house turned into a hotel. Overall it was very clean and the staff was nice. Unfortunately my room was in the basement with a window that couldn't lock (after having changed room with the same problem). Not a huge deal overall but sometimes it got noisy. Because this is not a "real" hotel, there is no breakfast or dinning facility, and there aren't that many in the area.

We were greeted by a professional and very welcoming young man who was eager to answer the many questions we had. This hotel is more of a boutique still hotel with a lot of charm and located just minutes from the White Chapel tube. We were offered an alternate room on the lower levels but decided to stay in our original booking on the third floor. This can be challenging for some as there is no lift. The room was updated with a remodeled restroom. We enjoyed the privacy and were very happy with the service. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family and would stay here again if I ever return to London. My judgements of Hotels revolve primarily around their staff, and the staff at this establishment is of the highest quality in making you feel welcome. Thank You Vilenza, I had a great time.

Had to have a ten min walk from reception to another apartment. 230 commercial road. Room wa cold and hostle like. It was cheap but nothing like the pictures and the reviews can’t be for this room.

Picking a random small hotel in London is always a lottery. The Vilenza was a good pick: clean and well-run and good value. There was a full-size fridge in the room (bit of overkill for my pint of milk!). The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. The stairs are steep but the duty clerk insisted on carrying my case. I will stay there again if I need to be in that part of London.

First of all, the gentlemen working there was very helpful. The location was a short walk to the tube and a yummy restaurant nearby. We were on the basement floor, which was good because it was really hot and we only had a fan. We had a double/queen bed and two futon-type single beds which were VERY uncomfortable and should not be used as a "sleeps 4" accommodation. There was also no restaurant which Expedia said there was. Overall, convenient location and clean.

At 5 pm, we could not check in because there was not a staff member available to check us in. The front door was locked and they did not show up for another half hour. When we were finally shown to our room, it was flooded. We were assigned another room which had no environmental temperature control. When attempting to shower in the morning, there was no water supply to the room, except for the ceiling, which dripped water without stopping. Eventually, the water supply was restored and showering commenced. The water temp continuously fluctuated between cold and scalding with no adjustment of the valve. The only redeeming factor was a good local pub. Maybe try camping instead? Please note that I am not one who normally submits reviews. I do not recommend this place.

The room lacked a madress on one of the beds and legs on an other bed. The shower room was not clean, when we arrived and the water spilled over if we took two showets in a row. We stayed three nights but the room eas not cleaned and the beds not made once. And novody seemed to care.

The bathroom was clean but not the bedroom. The fridge and kettle were broken. The kettle was making sparks when we tried to use it which we pointed out on day on, but although they said they would fix them, they didn't. They said there would be housekeeping but no cleaning took place. When we came back to the hotel in the evening, our key card did not work anymore and there was no one at reception. It took long to get hold of someone on the phone who then had to come and let us in.

The hotel is located close to the Tube station Whitechapel, the spacious room including private bathroom was clean and contained everything you need. In the event of technical issues (like heating couldn't be turned on) the receptionist was able to solve the problem immediately. The room also have access to the backyard which in summer certainly will be nice to have.

We were greeted by a young gentleman who was not only efficient in checking us in but also gave us recommendations on what's around. He was very friendly and professional. The room itself (the quadruple) was clean and just what one might need, having a fridge, toaster and a microwave was also a nice touch. The bathroom looked modern and clean, good shower too. Would definitely stay there again the next time we are travelling to London.

We stayed in the basement what was very horrible. No clean towels, no WiFi, closed reception, toilet was very dirty, no 2 persons sheet, For a 3rd person there was no bed only a couch which was very small, no cleaning during the day. Worst hotel I ever booked and I book a lot of on yearly basis. Please don’t go there

It's close to Whitechapel station so it's conveniently located. The staff were friendly and helpful, they gave me a hand with my bag. My room was spacious, but the furnishings were quite tired, the carpet especially. It also didn't feel as clean as I would've hoped. The kettle was outside the room in an adjacent space. Overall it's fine for one night, but wouldn't recommend for longer.

Lovely property, layout is a little odd. Basic facilities, only 1 fan in a triple room- would have benefited more if the room was cooler. Double bed was okay for comfort, single bed was uncomfortable- as you could feel the poles underneath but all in all an okay place to stay but I would only stay for a short trip.

Staff were amazing, professional, and attentive. The room was relatively clean. The room was hot and during our stay the fan broke down. The staff was quick to provide a replacement. The sofa-beds were uncomfortable and wobbly. Some of the outlets didn't work.

Although the room was advertised with a king bed and it was a queen/double, the staff were extremely accommodating and this was excellent value. We were given a balcony and enjoyed our morning tea in the sun. The location is extremely convenient to Whitechapel, including Brick Lane and the Tower of London, and a short tube or DLR ride away from everything we wanted to see.

Convenient location, just a short walk from Whitechapel tube station. Our room was a good size, with a little balcony attached to sit outside when weather behaving itself. Clean place, comfy bed, room had lots of extras (fridge, fan, microwave, hairdryer), good value for money, staff super friendly & helpful. Would stay again.

Very affordable stay considering it’s close to central. The room in itself was decent, had the amenities I needed. Even had an iron which I used. One downside was it didn’t have an aircon. Also would have like if room was more isolated rather than located so close to main hallway and reception but then the building didn’t have much space. However this didn’t affect my stay. Bed wasn’t the best and the extra bed wasn’t comfortable according to a friend who stayed in for a few hours. Bathroom was clean and neat, but didn’t have bathroom mats provided, as floor would have been wet easily as the shower door needed fixing as it wouldn’t shut properly while you were having a shower. But for the price I paid of £75 at the time, it’s wasn’t that big of a deal, there’s always room for improvement though. Receptionist was very friendly, polite, and very accomodating, 10/10 for the staff.

It is not a hotel, but a small family house that is furnished as necessary with the letting of a few rooms. The house is also located in a very unattractive alley. We paid full price for 3 people, but sleeping space for our adult daughter consisted of a useless and disgusting mattress on the floor. Carpet was full of stains, furniture and tiles stained and all probably 30-40 years old. Some of the sockets did not work and the Internet only worked sporadically. The neighborhood was very unsafe and 5 young people sold drugs right outside the door. No breakfast. I let my daughter take over my bed and slept night number 2 on the mattress on the floor. I didn't get any sleep either, so we changed to a 4-star hotel in another neighborhood.

Turned up at hotel and no way of getting in. Another guest had been waiting over half an hour and had called and left many messages. I tried and nobody was answering. Took decision to get train home. Then got an automated checking in text over 4 hours later saying to call them to check in! Contacted Hotels.com who couldn’t get through to them either. Then two days later Hotels.com tell me they won’t issue a refund as still can’t contact the hotel. If you want to spend money staying in a hotel you can’t access or contact then this is the ideal pick. Otherwise you’ll get better value and service from a park bench.

We had a very pleasant stay at Vilenza Hotel. We were greeted by a very polite and welcoming staff, with Adam as our concierge. We were also offered an upgrade on our room. We recieved several suggestions about what we could spend our time doing in London, and everytime we had a question or request, big og small, Adam and his staff always helped and solved the matter. I have nothing to put back on our stay. There is a short walk to the subway station and the hotel is situated in a very vibrating and cultural part of London. The subwaystation also has several connections which makes it a popular station.

Gushing water outside of our room the entire night and although the manager was aware, he did not make a change. We had to check out of the room the next day. Contacted the manager multiple times about the cancellation, but he never reached out. After reaching out to Expedia, he informed them that I would be charged for the entire five days of stay. This is at best a one star hotel.

We were greeted by a young gentleman who was not only efficient in checking us in but also gave us recommendations on what's around. He was very friendly and professional. The room itself (the quadruple) was clean and just what one might need, having a fridge, toaster and a microwave was also a nice touch. The bathroom looked modern and clean, good shower too. Would definitely stay there again the next time we are travelling to London.

The staff at this hotel are lovely and genuinely care about their hotel. I felt welcomed and it was exactly what it is shown as, a 3.5 star hotel great for just a night or two. The decor is somewhat dated and a bit old but amusing In a way! Nice atmosphere and great if you’re visiting or working nearby

At 5 pm, we could not check in because there was not a staff member available to check us in. The front door was locked and they did not show up for another half hour. When we were finally shown to our room, it was flooded. We were assigned another room which had no environmental temperature control. When attempting to shower in the morning, there was no water supply to the room, except for the ceiling, which dripped water without stopping. Eventually, the water supply was restored and showering commenced. The water temp continuously fluctuated between cold and scalding with no adjustment of the valve. The only redeeming factor was a good local pub. Maybe try camping instead? Please note that I am not one who normally submits reviews. I do not recommend this place.

Although the room was advertised with a king bed and it was a queen/double, the staff were extremely accommodating and this was excellent value. We were given a balcony and enjoyed our morning tea in the sun. The location is extremely convenient to Whitechapel, including Brick Lane and the Tower of London, and a short tube or DLR ride away from everything we wanted to see.

We were really comfortable at the Vilenza hotel. The place is very quiet and you will have a great night sleep. It's also located near Whitechapel underground which makes it easy to get anywhere. The neighborhood is not the best but we did not feel unsafe. Good bang for the buck

Sadly I couldn’t recommend. I’ve lived in London for 10 years previously but even I felt like this was in a really shady and unsafe area. Place felt run down, I had no pillowcases on my pillows, no hand towel in the bathroom and a single duvet in a double cover on a double bed. Wouldn’t return personally but also wouldn’t fault service as he did quickly provide pillowcases

The hotel was absolutely lovely to stay at, was really clean out front and in the room. The location was amazing aswell, really close to Spitalfields market and shoreditch, so had everything we needed. Would stay again.

I didn't realize that it was not a hotel but a house turned into a hotel. Overall it was very clean and the staff was nice. Unfortunately my room was in the basement with a window that couldn't lock (after having changed room with the same problem). Not a huge deal overall but sometimes it got noisy. Because this is not a "real" hotel, there is no breakfast or dinning facility, and there aren't that many in the area.

Good spot when looking for a comfortable hotel near the station. Good neighborhood. Great food and market choices around as well. Not really loud there either. Comfortable beds, Id say, but nothing spectacular. I will say, the amenities are more than what i was expecting, which really made the place better. The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the wall paper peeling off of a corner at one point. This didn't affect my stay there, just made me give extra thought on how I may view rooms when advertised and pricing. As this place is somewhat expensive, that's not a great look. Even so, I'd recommend the place still mainly because of its convenience, quiet area, the amenities, and cleanliness

We were in love with this stay!! It took the excitement of travel to a whole new level. I mean they allowed us to check in early, gave free post cards, had great advertisements for everything in the city, a yummy cafe, a bouncing night club, and a cute room with a balcony. We are happy we stayed at this location and give a round of applause to your alls team!

First of all, the gentlemen working there was very helpful. The location was a short walk to the tube and a yummy restaurant nearby. We were on the basement floor, which was good because it was really hot and we only had a fan. We had a double/queen bed and two futon-type single beds which were VERY uncomfortable and should not be used as a "sleeps 4" accommodation. There was also no restaurant which Expedia said there was. Overall, convenient location and clean.

this place is truly worth the value. the location is 5 min walk to the nearest underground. a lot of food options that are cheap. the service was great as we were greeted everyday and any special needs we had they were more than accommodating. i recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay!
