A pretty cool place that’s like an upscale-ish backpackers hostel. Best thing is it’s location which is right smack in the main centre! Only downside is parking—you either book their parking for a fee, or park in the paid public parking right across the hostel. Not a problem overnight coz free parking from 6am-8am. Also, the only heating available are oil heaters, which unfortunately isn’t quite enough. But overall, a great accessible and convenient place.

Great location unfortunately Miss Lucy’s was closed entire time we were there this was something we had looked forward to as our son had stayed in the Auckland property the kitchen was very crowded so cost more to go out which was a shame and would have helped to know before booking . Staff in Lylo were lovely

Kitchen very small and not really fit for purpose Have to go up to 4th floor to sit & eat carrying stuff Some renovations planned I believe so will hopefully address that. Intermittent issues with luggage lockup combination. Seemed to need to be reset

This is the best hostel I stayed at during my entire trip around the South Island and North Island!!! Having a pod with a full privacy screen felt like my own little space. I crawled out of my pod one morning to hear someone snoring and realized I couldn't hear that or anything else while inside my pod!! I stayed here 4 nights and would gladly return! Showers are hot and large space/hooks to put belongings on! Staff was friendly. Laundry is great priced and dryer worked great!

Great experience start to finish. Warm welcome from reception, the pod beds are ideal for privacy and provide a light and fan which is great. Kitchen was being moved to upstairs which will make it ideal with the social/dining area, that would be my only issue as it was then. But location perfect, car park right next door for about £3 hour 8-6pm

I stayed here for a week. The hostel is always busy. The staff are friendly and informative. However, the kitchen is too small to accommodate all people. The hair dryer is not available 2 days during my stay.

My stay was great, but the kitchen was too small for the number of people staying at the hostel. Now that it is high season, it was complicated to cook or prepare something quick. Also, the activities shown at the entrance aren't updated or don't exist.

Small but comfortable queen bedroom with private bathroom was newly renovated; convenient kitchen and laundry facilities, plus a hangout area on top floor that had a bar, pizza and pool table. Close to town center, everything was walkable or public transportation available.

I had chosen a pod in an 8-person room. It wasn't very clean and it was extremely difficult to get up and down from the upper bunk and I must say a bit dangerous. I haven't had any problems with bunk beds anywhere else. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the room had almost no space or a window. The kitchen was so small that it was impossible to cook there and it was dirty. Very dirty. I will never use Lylo again.

We stayed in an ensuited double room, which was small but neat and clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped (though cutlery was a bit scarce!) and generally clean. Staff were friendly and location was good. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, but the room was very small and not well soundproofed — we could hear everything from the next room. We asked for cleaning once, but they just quickly tidied up without actually cleaning (no vacuuming or bathroom cleaning). Service was average overall.

When I arrived I checked in on the tablet in the lobby and went to my assigned room where I found there was already someone in my bunk. That person and I went to the lobby to figure out the problem. The person working was at a 1/10 on giving a crap about it. Finally, once it was sorted out I found that the plugin for electricity in my bunk didn't work. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, not clean at all. The room was very hot, it didn't seem to be temperature controlled.

Shower rooms and toilets were always clean. The kitchen was dirty at times due to some guests leaving dishes unwashed, but it was cleaned regularly. The rooms were warm and comfortable, but there were few places to hang towels, etc., so there were a few days when there were many guests staying, making it difficult to dry wet towels after a shower. The staff at the reception was very friendly and the overall stay was very good.

stayed over the Queenstown Marathon Weekend, and it was perfect! We stayed in a family room which was the perfect sized room for 3 friends, our room overlooked the Gondola and the park. Room was spotless, bed was super comfy. the only thing i would have to say is that the water pressure in the shower isn't the best, but nothing to complain about. the location is perfect too, a quick 5 minute walk to the waterfront, 1 minute walk to the supermarket, everything is in a handy location without having to walk up any steep hills. Staff were all super friendly, the front desk team were super helpful with giving reccomendation on what to do, although we already had our itinerary sorted, they were there if you needed any help (im so sorry i forgot specific names). overall, would definetly stay again, although there is no carpark onsite there are heaps of carparking options around town.

Très bien situé dans le centre ville de Queenstown mais les dortoirs sont très bruyants (portes coupe feu très lourdes qui claquent, casiers qui font du bruit lorsqu’on les ouvre/ferme). Compliqué de dormir dans ces conditions. De plus la cuisine est minuscule, vu le nombre de personnes que peut accueillir l’établissement il ne faut pas vraiment compter cuisiner. Et les parties communes (salle de repos, salle de bain, toilettes) n’étaient pas très propres.

Prime location - Lylo was located close to the Coronet Peak and The Remarkables Snow Center. Walkable distance to town and had supermarkets/cafes/restaurants nearby. Small rooms but clean and comfy!

The location is incredible. The Wi-Fi is subpar. It worked decently-ish on my phone, but it dropped from my laptop every five minutes... And I wasn't streaming anything. Just trying to book hostels for upcoming nights. I chose to stay in a private room with a private bathroom. It was tiny, but the bed was comfortable. The room was freezing though. There was a small electric fan heater, but I didn't want to leave that on all night... So both nights I stayed there I woke up a couple of times in the middle of the night because of the cold and I'd put the heater on for half an hour or so. That was quite inconvenient. It would be great for Lylo to invest in better comforters/blankets so we don't freeze in our sleep.

Good location,super friendly staffs,however the room wall is very thin. We could hear everything from the next room. Especially when they take a shower,the sound is so loud. If you are sensitive about the noises or light sleeper,maybe better to avoid this place.

Wij waren ondergebracht in een familiekamer die geen raam had. Geen raam om naar buiten te kijken maakt het al snel een donker muf hol. Er stond een stapelbed en een groot tweepersoons bed. Het was allemaal erg klein dus het was lastig om voor een gezin alle spullen kwijt te kunnen. Ook stond het tweepersoons bed precies tussen twee wanden in gepropt waardoor je er niet omheen kon lopen. Over elkaar heen klimmen dus om naar het toilet te kunnen. Er is genoeg te doen in Queenstown dus je hoeft niet op de kamer te zijn. Maar met slecht weer en kleine kinderen kan je weinig in die kamer. Geen zitje of stoelen. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en het is erg druk in de hostel. Zelf wat eten klaar maken in de keuken is gezien de hoeveelheid kookpitten en de hoeveelheid mensen bijna niet te doen. Genoeg leuke restaurantjes in de buurt om dat probleem op te lossen. Verder een goed verblijf gehad maar zou volgende keer wat wat anders boeken. Het probleem is dat Queenstown schreeuwend duur is.
Wij waren ondergebracht in een familiekamer die geen raam had. Geen raam om naar buiten te kijken maakt het al snel een donker muf hol. Er stond een stapelbed en een groot tweepersoons bed. Het was allemaal erg klein dus het was lastig om voor een gezin alle spullen kwijt te kunnen. Ook stond het tweepersoons bed precies tussen twee wanden in gepropt waardoor je er niet omheen kon lopen. Over elkaar heen klimmen dus om naar het toilet te kunnen. Er is genoeg te doen in Queenstown dus je hoeft niet op de kamer te zijn. Maar met slecht weer en kleine kinderen kan je weinig in die kamer. Geen zitje of stoelen. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en het is erg druk in de hostel. Zelf wat eten klaar maken in de keuken is gezien de hoeveelheid kookpitten en de hoeveelheid mensen bijna niet te doen. Genoeg leuke restaurantjes in de buurt om dat probleem op te lossen. Verder een goed verblijf gehad maar zou volgende keer wat wat anders boeken. Het probleem is dat Queenstown schreeuwend duur is.

A seriously good stay! Check in was easy, Lylo is close to everything which makes it worthwhile straight up. I was in an 8 pod room and everything about it was great, bed was way more comfortable than I expected, privacy if you need it but good for a solo traveller with plenty of opportunity to socialise. Bathrooms were pretty good as far as a hostel goes, the staff keep the place very clean and tidy, and were there to help with any questions that I had. Highly recommended and I’ll be staying again next time I’m in town.

Very convenient location! Staff were so lovely, everyone we interacted with was so kind. Has a handy luggage storage option which was amazing. Room was very very small. We knew it was going to be a small room but it was way smaller than expected. Glad I booked the balcony room as it made it feel less compacted but everything else was pretty decent.

When I arrived I checked in on the tablet in the lobby and went to my assigned room where I found there was already someone in my bunk. That person and I went to the lobby to figure out the problem. The person working was at a 1/10 on giving a crap about it. Finally, once it was sorted out I found that the plugin for electricity in my bunk didn't work. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, not clean at all. The room was very hot, it didn't seem to be temperature controlled.

stayed over the Queenstown Marathon Weekend, and it was perfect! We stayed in a family room which was the perfect sized room for 3 friends, our room overlooked the Gondola and the park. Room was spotless, bed was super comfy. the only thing i would have to say is that the water pressure in the shower isn't the best, but nothing to complain about. the location is perfect too, a quick 5 minute walk to the waterfront, 1 minute walk to the supermarket, everything is in a handy location without having to walk up any steep hills. Staff were all super friendly, the front desk team were super helpful with giving reccomendation on what to do, although we already had our itinerary sorted, they were there if you needed any help (im so sorry i forgot specific names). overall, would definetly stay again, although there is no carpark onsite there are heaps of carparking options around town.

I had planned to stay just about 3 weeks but after 5 days I cancelled the rest because I did not like it here. I have never been so cold in my life and I live Canadian winter every year. I asked the staff twice if they could adjust the temperature and was told that the whole floor was on the same thermostat so they could not because people preferred to sleep being cold rather than warm. I agree… to a certain extent. My teeth were clattering, I had to wear everything I owned to get through the night. Other than that, the staff was super friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The kitchen was tiny and not very clean, nowhere to sit on that floor except 2 tiny tables outside, I suspect it maybe had something to do with wanting people to go up to the roof restaurant. The bathrooms were ok but not the cleanest I’ve seen but not the worst either. People were respectful of noise mostly and the pods have power outlets and lights each which was convenient.

Centrally locate in Downtown Queenstown there was no shortage of places to eat, drink, shop, or head out to the mountains from. Highly recommend staying. Rooms felt a little "hostel" style and that was kind of the vibe of the whole place but that was fine, we only stayed for one night. Longer wouldn't have been a problem either though.

A pretty cool place that’s like an upscale-ish backpackers hostel. Best thing is it’s location which is right smack in the main centre! Only downside is parking—you either book their parking for a fee, or park in the paid public parking right across the hostel. Not a problem overnight coz free parking from 6am-8am. Also, the only heating available are oil heaters, which unfortunately isn’t quite enough. But overall, a great accessible and convenient place.

It was right it the city center, everything was walkable. Bus stop was 4 minute walk away and went straight to the airport. Lylo was very clean and the staff are very helpful and it has a roof top bar. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

Lylo Queenstown was a fine hotel in a really good location in Queenstown. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel cleanliness was good. Just one thing to note that we didn't realize: this is a hostel or shared room hotel that has some regular rooms. I wasn't expecting that. Thus, laundry was stressful at times and the smells from the kitchen were bad at times. We also dod not have a hot pot in the room and couldn't make coffee there like you would in a normal hotel. However, we did not experience any issues.

Great location unfortunately Miss Lucy’s was closed entire time we were there this was something we had looked forward to as our son had stayed in the Auckland property the kitchen was very crowded so cost more to go out which was a shame and would have helped to know before booking . Location was excellent to explore queenstown. We had a ensuite queen room and it was very small, but the bed was comfortable and the common spaces are quite nice (especially the roof deck), so it's easy to avoid spending much time in your room. There is reasonably-priced public parking nearby too.

Great location in Qtown. Vibe was very 18-30 yo single traveler. Music was a little loud in the bar/common area. No seating in the shared kitchen made meal times more challenging for our family group with a 6 month old infant. Rooms were clean and well organised, but very small. One small issue was the walls being quite thin, so our neighbours playing music at 1am was quite noticeable. However, the night team dealt with it quite well.

Great location, in amongst everything and walking distance to bus, supermarket, centre of town and all attractions. My queen room with a balcony was great. Compact but a good use of space. Loved watching the fog roll in from my bed. Bed was comfy, as were pillows. Bathroom spacious and balcony was great. There was an issue with the TV not having any reception, but they said it was due to a recent storm, and being fixed next week. Thankfully could stream from apps but connectivity was a little tricky and time consuming. There was a very noisy heating system (?) that kept me awake for a lot of the second night. I reported to reception on checkout. Definitely needs addressing, as it was really noisy and kept cutting in and out throughout the night. I would definitely stay again. I probably just would opt for a different room location.
