Moxy Chicago Downtown

Super fun and funky property. Great staff. Location close to everything. Good use of space in rooms. Really good atmosphere. Excellent bar and games area. Shame they didn't have tea or coffee making facility in room and only have coffee in the lobby downstairs. Don't forget about us tea drinkers, please!!

Stay was really good. The facility has lots of amenities and various forms of entertainment. The lobby is the place to be at all times of the day, chill during the day and socially tailored towards singles and couples in the evenings. Great liquor selection and finger food for purchase. Unfortunately, the rooms are small and encourages one to spend more time out the room than in. However, rooms are comfy when it time to rest and relax. My family and I stay here every year during the winter holiday for 3/4 nights. Location is excellent as it is within walking distance from most downtown destinations. Definitely coming back next year.

I have been wanting to try this property for its quirky design and Zombie Tacos. I enjoyed my stay - from the casual environment, welcome drink, and tacos - great night!

Had a great stay in Chicago and at the Moxie. Only issues were that parking is offsite and the room was small. Loved the location and amenities.

Loved the bar in the lobby with the DJ on the Saturday night. Pretty trendy.

Everyone was friendly, the hotel is in a good location to everything, it has lots of things to do. The taco place has good food, the bar area/lobby is very entertaining. The room was clean and comfy.

The front desk staff were awesome! Easy check in, helpful dinner recommendations, and held our luggage at checkout until it was time to Uber to the airport. The bartender was great as well...love the free drink tokens and tabletop games!

Having to walk 2 blocks away and still having to pay 49$ for parking is ridiculous

I was disappointed on the additional $165 for the parking

good location for shopping/walking. Front staff was friendly. VERY loud guests both night. Came in late and were UTTERLY RUDE with loud voices in hallway. NO consideration for fellow guests. Also same at 8:00 Am... TACO Bar is a gimmick that is over rated. Lobby had dirty napkins, glasses sitting too long before staff cleaned. Furniture in lobby dirty and worn.

Overall, we enjoyed the Moxy hotel. We were not too impressed with the Zombie Tacos on-site, limited options and not very good food especially for the price. The carpets in the lobby could use a good cleaning from people dropping food and drinks, and the tables wiped down a couple times throughout the day. The bar staff were very nice and drinks were very good. The check-in attendant was very nice and friendly. It was a little scary at first arrival because we were quickly approached by 2 guys on bicycles wearing face coverings and gloves while we were unloading in the zone in the front of the hotel. My gut feeling was something isn’t right and I quickly jumped back into my car and locked the doors. The guys stayed there for a couple minutes but then took off. This has nothing to do with the Moxy hotel and honestly the area isn’t “bad.” I’m just sharing this story because it’s Chicago which is high in crime so be cautious and keep eyes open. If it feels wrong, it probably is so watch yourself and be safe.

Really nice hotel, super nice staff and great atmosphere. The only complaint I had was that it sounded like water was running all night long in the room either above me or next to me. It would stop for a few seconds and then turn on again, like someone life the toilet running or didn’t flush fully and the water kept going. It was hard to sleep. The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable. Everything else was great!

Unfortunately, my room was not serviced upon request (after day 3). linen was delivered by a staff member, and I changed my own sheets. I appreciated the location, available activities within the hotel. and space set-up.

Every staff member was really warm and welcoming. Loved that this property has so much to do in the lobby so guests don’t have to leave the property if they don’t feel like it . All the food was yummy and fresh. The room I stayed in was perfect for me being a solo traveler. My only complaint was the sheets felt like sand or crumbs were all over them. I could also have called and informed them and get new sheets so that was on me. I would love to stay here again down the road !

What you're actually going to be paying for is just the style of the hotel and The view. The hotel has great city views. And is in a good location downtown, as far as being near the pier (30 min walk) however it's an unsafe location. However there's no room service they wouldn't even bring me up a cup of coffee. There's no coffee maker in the room there is no microwave. Rooms are incredibly tiny. And the first day I ended up noticing that my towels had stains on them that were not removed from previous users. In my opinion it was a bit of a waste of money.

The view from the corner room/city view was amazing! Room 810 to be exact. The room was clean and cozy and within walking distance to many of the downtown sights.

The HVAC system was loud when running and took a long time to heat or cool the small room.

Well managed and efficient experience for 1 night stay over in River North. Room is small but well appointed. Would have liked a magnifying shaving mirror. Shower is adjacent to the bed which makes for some floor dampness. Front of house is delightful and fun.

Nice boutique hotel. However this is the smallest hotel room I have seen in the last 20 years.

The hotel has a great location, with many restaraunts and public transit lines (red/blue) all super close walking distance. The lobby is cool/hip and and fun with a lot of space to hang out and with games. For me personally, the room was small, the shower is kind of in the main room, the bathroom sink as well is in the main space. Additionally, the room I had was a double bed, and there was a bunk bed single bed across the top... This was super annoying, as you couldn't sit up easy had to watch your head, also there's only a nightstand on one side of the bed. I get it, the personality of this hotel is hip/urban, maybe somewhat european in style, but the price is along the lines of other upscale hotels and I don't think the rooms match. The hotel was super clean, staff were wonderful, the only thing for me, was the room configuration wasn't ideal to my personal tastes.

Overall a decent place. Food and bar options in the lobby are good. Welcome drink token is nice to have. Rooms are ok and the bed is fairly comfortable. My only real complaint is that the air conditioning in my room was very noisy and made a rattling noise when it would turn off and kick back in. It woke me up numerous times a night.

Note that not all rooms have mini fridges!

Very nice staff and in the best location, to explore chicago by foot. But you should be aware, that the rooms are pretty small.

Had a very unpleasant stay. Our hotel door “died” in the middle of the night and we were locked out of the room for hours with all of our things in this room. We were offered nothing but a $10 token for breakfast when there was two of us. Overall very unsatisfying stay would not stay here again.

Just a precaution—we checked in and we’re supposed to have a queen bedroom. Instead we had bunk beds. I called down front and they were able to get us a room like we had reserved, but they mentioned that it sometimes happens with 3rd party reservations.

I recently stayed at the Moxy in Chicago, unsure of what to expect, booking it for its proximity to a friend’s home. I was blown away by the experience. The staff, especially Cristal, Heather, and Katee, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The hotel's fun, vibrant atmosphere is evident, with every piece of furniture, artwork, and decor carefully chosen. The lobby feels like a "Pinterest board," and there’s not a dull corner in sight! Parking is convenient, with spots near the hotel and more options a short walk away. The unique check-in happens at the bar, setting a fun tone for the rest of the stay. Though the rooms are small, they’re well-designed, maximizing space, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The views of the city were incredible, and I was impressed with how walkable the location is, close to restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The on-site restaurant, Zombie Tacos, serves great food with plenty of options. At night, the hotel comes alive with a DJ and lively bar scene. What made my stay truly exceptional was the service. After a red-eye flight, Cristal accommodated my early check-in, and Heather was incredibly helpful. Katee, the hotel manager, was hands-on, working in the lobby, ensuring everything ran smoothly. I give the Moxy Chicago an 11 out of 10. Having stayed in top hotels in major cities, it easily ranks in my top five.

Nice staff, less than 10 minute walk to Chicago River. Have inside bar and snack area. Lots of restaurants around.

Super FUN atmosphere!!! Everything about MOXY screams fun. The bar is beautiful! The rooms are perfect for 1 person or a couple. The area is safe and the TACO restaurant inside is AMAZING!!!

Overall stay was great. Location is great and the taco shop on the first floor was tasty. Only downside is there’s no fridge in the rooms to keep drinks cold and we had no view in our room.

Great stay! Perfect room for a solo traveler. The bar was great. My two favorite bartenders Deja and Simon serviced me the whole weekend. Great customer service great drinks.

We love The Moxy! My wife and I will always choose a Moxy if a city has one. They have the best atmosphere and arw always accommodating. Love the bar and the food options.
