Just an overnighter but we lucked into the Jesse James room! Comes with its own museum about James’s time in Bardstown. Our room was nicely updated and we’re pretty sure (at least my wife was) Jesse’s ghost was rattling our door after midnight! Nice restaurant and bar all inside the inn, which was a good thing on a rainy day.

Wonderful historic old inn in downtown Bardstown, in good condition, limited parking but plenty nearby. Be aware there is live music Thursday until 10pm, Friday and Saturday until 01.00 directly bellow rooms 4, 5 & 6, and I don't know if it will affect other rooms

The Talbott Inn is adorable. Our room was very large and comfortable. We enjoyed happy hour on the common area balcony and the historic bourbon bar was beautiful. We laughed at the wavy, uneven floors but that was part of the charm for the historical site. Parking can be a challenge.

We had a good time on our one-night stay at the Talbott Inn. Check-in was slightly confusing because there was 2 separate buildings, and we weren't sure where to go. Everyone was helpful in getting us checked in once we found the appropriate spot. We arrived at prime dinner time, and parking was difficult to find right around the inn due to the dinner/drink crowd. We had to park 2 blocks away, but found a parking spot right out front the next morning for easier checkout. We did enjoy the food both at dinner and breakfast!

The Inn itself is just perfect. There's a great Tavern connected to it that is the oldest Bourbon bar in the world. We stayed here one night as part of our bourbon trail trip. The front desk staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. There is live music in the tavern Thu-Sat, I believe and if you are staying in rooms 4, 5 or 6, it will keep you up late as those rooms are directly above. Just be aware of that. The food in the restaurant was very average and the service in the restaurant left something to be desired. We had to get up multiple times to ask for assistance or to order. Breakfast is included with the room cost and it was pretty decent but I wish we had gone elsewhere for dinner.

Super cool building and staff was amazingly friendly . Check in and out is quick. Restaurant has a great dinner menu, breakfast was free and very tasty. Both women that work the hotel and restaurant were very helpful. It's right on the Main Street and walkable to many shops and restaurants. Only downside was we stayed in one of the rooms above the bar ( you can hear the noise) and facing the street ( you can hear the cars). If you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest the other building , but would definitely come back. A fun app on your phone gives the history of the building and the people who have been there.

It’s a very unique place with charm but there were food crumbs all over the floor in my room near the couch. I requested a box of tissues from the staff as the one in my room was empty and was told no. I came down to the breakfast room in the morning and seated myself as the sign advised; however, I sat for 40 minutes and was never greeted or served by the overwhelmed waitstaff. I made eye contact with the server and smiled but was ignored, maybe because I didn’t fit in the with the rest of the hotel guests which are overwhelmingly elderly.

The room was not really all that clean. Our refrigerator did not work. Parking is kind of an issue. However I have no idea how you would solve that! The folks above us were loud all through the night. Again, not something you can really control.

We stayed Oct 2024. Checking in was easy, even though man was checking in guest and running/seating people in restaurant. Inn is quite old, so windows is room were very drafty & don't lock. Was a chilly night due to storm and heat ran all night. Hard to regulate heat. Room was cold or super hot. Showers only had warm water, not hot. Mirrors were so old had film on them. Had frig, microwave and small TV (30imches maybe)

The room smelled like bleach upon arrival. The toilet seat was wet with bleach. The front desk closed early so we could not tell them and they were not open when we left. Breakfast next door was a great perk. Not a good hotel for light sleepers. We heard the people upstairs every move.

I booked my room months in advance at the same time with 2 other couples and they put us in the older part of the hotel without notice, while the other 2 couples traveling with us were in the renovated part of the hotel. We were not told of this until 2 days before traveling and by then all other rooms in the hotel were booked for the weekend. Water in shower was cold, room smelled musty, bed was not comfortable at all. Not a great experience.

It'a great old inn. Room was large, AC worked well, had night shades for good sleeping. Ask for a room away from main road as there is noise. Eat at the Inn resturant and get the Bread Pudding: the best I have eaten in 5 years!!!

What a beautiful historic hotel that has been transformed for modern convenience! Everything was great, and the one time we had a small maintenance issue, someone came within five minutes, even though it was nearly midnight. The only thing I would change would be the beds. They are like a memory foam or something, and if you sleep on the edge and you’ve had a lot of southern food, you can feel like you’re falling off the bed as it smooshes down.

The building is convenient to downtown amenities. The room (207) was spacious and the bathroom was great with the freestanding bathtub! The room gets very dark at night and was very quiet.

We went to visit attractions in the Bardstown area, including Heaven Hill Distillery. The Talbott Inn is well situated for stays that include visits along the Bourbon Trail. The building has a rustic charm, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and eager to help. Having the tavern so close is a plus and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional.

Bardstown is a charming quaint town and staying at an old inn was perfect. The rooms have been updated nicely but it is an old building and rooms are small. Bed was excellent! Only problem was our tv didn’t work and they couldn’t do anything about it.

So pleasantly surprised by the Inn. Super easy check-in, very friendly front desk clerk, really cute, nicely decorated room, spacious bathroom, windows that opened to let in fresh air. Mattress was a little softer than I'm used to, but still super comfortable. The pillows are only polyester (I'm a real princess about pillows), and we were next to a stairwell, so could hear people coming in and out all night, but not loudly enough to disrupt our sleep. Amazing location walking distance from all the restaurants and bars downtown, and to Bourbon Fest. We talked all weekend about how lucky we were to be able to get a room here!

It was certainly an interesting place. I gave it it 4 star because of the noise and sounds outside the room. I guess because it is older, sound proofing was minimal. The room itself had charm and was nicely remodeled with a very nice shower. The closet was a curious thing.

The hotel is fine, the problem is the lack of staff and not answering the phone. A breakfast is included with stay, but on Saturday morning nobody around, breakfast starts at 8am……830am someone finally shows up, says chef overslept,….we were on the clock so we had to go somewhere else. We were due to check out on Monday but had to leave on Sunday morning due to emergency at home, nobody to take the key or tell that we were leaving. I called several times, just got a recording to leave messages but doesn’t record message. So we paid for a night we weren’t there, no one to communicate with.

What a fantastic spot! The history alone made our trip. In terms of service, there was no one there when we needed to check out. Apparently no one at front until 10 am. Not sure if that's true.

Super cool building and staff was amazingly friendly . Check in and out is quick. Restaurant has a great dinner menu, breakfast was free and very tasty. Both women that work the hotel and restaurant were very helpful. It's right on the Main Street and walkable to many shops and restaurants. Only downside was we stayed in one of the rooms above the bar ( you can hear the noise) and facing the street ( you can hear the cars). If you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest the other building , but would definitely come back. A fun app on your phone gives the history of the building and the people who have been there.

I booked this hotel, on a whim. Didn't research much about it, or the area. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. There is a lot of stuff within walkable distances; but most of the shops close very early (even for a Saturday). The hotel was very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. I fully intend on coming back and spending more time here.

We went to visit attractions in the Bardstown area, including Heaven Hill Distillery. The Talbott Inn is well situated for stays that include visits along the Bourbon Trail. The building has a rustic charm, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and eager to help. Having the tavern so close is a plus and the complimentary breakfast was exceptional.

This is such a cute place and I would definitely stay here again. Very much like a B&B: cozy, feels like home, a touch of vintage, and great food. This is a historical tavern so don't forget to see the memorabilia and read the history. We didn't have dinner here but it looked incredible and the dining hall was packed. We grabbed breakfast before heading out and it was very tasty! Even though the band next door was playing until late, I didn't mind listening to it and did not have issues falling asleep.

I love the Talbott Inn, especially the rooms in the Old Talbott Tavern building. It is an historic property with all the charm of a building that dates back centuries. The rooms are a bit dated but, in my opinion, it just adds to the charm. The breakfast that comes with the room is not your run of the mill continental spread that many hotels provide these days, but a cooked to order traditional breakfast. Delicious!! Will be back.

The Inn itself is just perfect. There's a great Tavern connected to it that is the oldest Bourbon bar in the world. We stayed here one night as part of our bourbon trail trip. The front desk staff were very kind, friendly and helpful. There is live music in the tavern Thu-Sat, I believe and if you are staying in rooms 4, 5 or 6, it will keep you up late as those rooms are directly above. Just be aware of that. The food in the restaurant was very average and the service in the restaurant left something to be desired. We had to get up multiple times to ask for assistance or to order. Breakfast is included with the room cost and it was pretty decent but I wish we had gone elsewhere for dinner.

It was a lovely stay for an evening! Check-in was easy, the room was clean and comfortable, and cool in July. We enjoyed the breakfast next morning as well. The Tavern Restaurant had delicious, reasonably priced food. We would stay again in the future.

I really enjoyed the stay. They were friendly and helpful and the rooms were in a well restored building over 200 years old. The bathroom was huge and very well maintained. The location is right downtown And parking was free. They had a free breakfast that was a real breakfast. I couldn’t be happier.
