We were not told that the reataurant, bar and pool were closed which was one of the main reasons we booked. room and common areas were clean. our safe also locked and it took almost 2 hours for them to saw it open which in turn messed up our entire plans which was the reason we booked to stay in the first place. no compensation or anything they just said sorry and moved on.

Mean carpet in hallway filthy need update Parking in hotel very tight, driving and parking skills will be tested. No vending machines for snack so stop somewhere before you check. There restaurant only do lunch and breakfast. Free breakfast is nice. Inside the room is updated but that AC was a winter wonderland. Other than those things it ok over all. Won’t be back though

Clean hotel, literally near everything and in walking distance. Just wish we had more food options on property and the pool was not operational. The gym was little but equipped. This hotel is great for a short stay!

The property is excellent for a short vacation. But I was extremely disappointed in the pool and the narrow area on the hotel's grounds to properly maneuver a vehicle. I should've done more research. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They make you feel at home, a rare quality when traveling. I will definitely visit again.

The room was clean, the staff very helpful and courteous. There was no TV to watch the news for many days. The pool was closed for the six days I was there. My stay was very boring.

The property is ok except the pool in the middle of the restaurant makes no sense because you can’t really use it. The rooftop and restaurant closing at 4 doesn’t allow for a common area for guest to relax or grab a bite.

Really nice property but the cleanliness is that a very low In my opinion. Experience molding, Discolored towels and Linen foul orders, Build up around shower, faucet handles, etc. The staff is amazing. The property itself needs improvement in regards to it, Cleanliness.

I liked nothing about this hotel. Bathrooms are not clean and they don't provide safety for there guess. I checked in on 5/22 after 11pm Jamaica time, I thought I was going to a clean room, nope my bath tub was dirty and lower pipe was broken, the housekeeping supervisor told me maintenance can only fix the pipe but they don't clean the tub. Mind you he is the housekeeping supervisor and he should go up and clean it, I asked for cleaning supplies to do it myself, so they changed my room to a queen bed with balcony for me and my 13 yr old. I was too tired to argue so I took it. I went to check the room, bath tub was clean, we showered went to bed. Woke up Friday morning went out to balcony, then tried closing it, it does not lock, meaning anyone can enter your room from the balcony. I went to front desk, asked how does it lock, they sent maintenance up to show me, the guy said it uses a key, so I asked for the key. I left the hotel all day, got back they can't find the key, so they were giving me another room, this time its a 2 bedroom with balcony, the front desk girl went to show me the room, same thing balcony door needs a key to lock it. How is this safe for female travelers, I asked? So, I got moved back to my original room from the Thursday night, still with a dirty tub, this time the front desk girl looked in the tub and saw what I complained about originally, still never got cleaned so again I asked for the stuff to do it. All and all the same supevisor cleaned it.

Room was clean and comfy. Can you replace that stained and nasty looking Carpet on the 2nd Floor, it is disgusting. Food prices are ridiculous. The 5 days Delay to refund the $100 deposit for incidentals and to ensure no damage is frankly ridiculous. I asked the front desk clerk to examine the room with me to verify no damage and he said "Thats not my job"

Hotel falls short on many aspects especially if travelling for business. Absence of charging points in the room which is in need of updating. Breakfast was disappointing, lap pool only allows for one swimmer if you're inclined to use when guests are eating, however staff are excellent.

We enjoyed our stay at the R Hotel Kingston. It was centrally located near a few restaurants in the area. The room was spacious, and our view from our room to look out at Kingston was beautiful. Overall, great service, but we did experience a few times where we had to wait for staff to appear at the registration and at the rooftop restaurant.

Generally ‘ok’ stay. Unfortunately the room had an adjoining door to another individuals room. Noise from the other room traveled through pretty easily. Not soundproof at all.

The sheets were uncomfortable and scratchy because they were clearly worn/older. Thin walls I could hear someone sneeze in one room and could hear the tv loudly in the adjoining room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious.

Only one hanger for three guests. Not enough cups, plates, and cutlery for a "deluxe" room. No pots and pans. No hairdryer. No TV channels were installed, and the batteries in the TV remote leaked. The swimming pool is laughable. This property has (nominally) four stars. Highly overrated, two and a half would be closer to the truth. The only truly positive thing is the washer and dryer in the room. Helped a lot when we got soaked by the rain.

Love the R hotel. Check in was great and the staff is always professional and helpful. Glenville from the kitchen staff always goes above and beyond - his service is top-tier. The food is good and the rooms are very comfy. I will certainly be back. This is my go-to hotel. The VIP experience is certainly worth it. Breakfast and everything is good. You can’t go wrong staying here.

Perhaps I need an explanation of credit per stay, I received it once and I was there for 2 days 1 night. I truly enjoyed this location but unfortunately their reaponse time is poor. Room service took a long time to deliver food, no menus in the room; at the end of my stay I was told after paying the prices increased but was never informed prior or given the bill. I reached out to the property to inquire about a break down of my bill and was given a vague response. I asked follow up questions and no one answered. I unfortunately will not be returning here I do not like how this was handled. I called as well and no one responded.

The location is great. Five to ten minute walk to New Kingston banks and shopping. John R Wong supermarket within walking distance also in the event you get a room with a kitchenette. Anoher cool thing I loved with my room, it came with a washer and dryer. Two things to be aware of, if you aren't a skilled driver, parking will be a nightmare and breakfast is two tier. With Expedia you only get a basic breakfast (eggs, bread, bacon etc) and the Jamaican breakfast option which is an additional US$17.50 I would recommend this hotel.

For a Jamaica hotel with this review, I was very very disappointed in the breakfast choices, they're serving American breakfast and not Jamaican breakfast. The Jamaican breakfast was for and extra charge, very disappointed. I stay at multiple hotels in New Kingston Jamaica for many years and the all served Jamaican breakfast, from Spanish Court, Terra nova, Courtleigh and even Altamacourt with Jamaican breakfast, with the rate for a room at R Hotel, Jamaican breakfast should be a part of the breakfast, Very very disappointed, I was there for 14 days and I only went to breakfast once and I only had a cup of cold coffee, I had breakfast off the property for my entire 14 days stay, I definitely won't be returning to this R Hotel unless the change the breakfast system and serve Jamaican breakfast, for evensake this is Jamaica and visitors want JAMAICAN BREAKFAST, until they get with the program and start serving JAMAICAN BREAKFAST like the other hotels in their area the will be start losing guests because I'm definitely won't be returning unless they change that system, I'm also very sure that other guests felt the same way. Please change your policy this is Jamaica visitor comes for the food as well as our great culture, change this.

Pool only stays open until 8. Breakfast was very limited in choices. Balcony is very beautiful and the staff were great. I just wish they did more to advertise tours, transportation and places to check out in the area. Front desk said they would call the tour guide but never got back to me.

The room was welcoming and included a balcony. The bed was cozy, and the bathroom was decent just a bit small. Breakfast was great, offering both regular items and fresh Jamaican dishes cooked to order. The best part of breakfast was the view truly something to behold. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I wish I had been informed about all the amenities upon check-in, but unfortunately, I only learned about them on my last day. This was likely due to my very late check-in because of my flight. Overall, everything was good.
