The Hoxton, Williamsburg

I recommend that you provide regulated parking services. Overnight Parking was a big problem for us.

The only disappointing part of our stay was that we could NEVER sit in the lounge as it was packed with laptops and non-guests at the hotel from early morning to almost after dinner time. There should be space for the hotel guests to enjoy

It would be nice if there was parking for the hotel, but other than that it was wonderful

I liked the proximity of the hotel. I disliked the fact that there was usually no where to sit as there seemed to be a lot of people working on lap tops coming in to use the coffee shop.

In general I like the location of the hotel in relation to the subway. Easy walkable area with many restaurants available. The lobby renovation is nice however it leaves many without seating because it is now very busy at the bar and coffee areas.

It was totally fine - the room was nice, small, but nice. The staff were a bit snobby when it came to any sorts of questions. The lobby and restaurants are definitely the best part of this hotel. We assumed there was a gym and there wasn’t so that was a bummer.

Property is really lovely with great spaces and restaurants. But for the price I'd expect a gym and or a pass to a local gym (there is a daily pass to a local gym for ~$23 per day). But otherwise it was great.

Excellent place to stay in Williamsburg, walkable from the ferry and really beautiful space. Quiet but also lively enough to feel fun. Rooftop bar views are the best around!

Being a hotel guest does not give rooftop restaurant/lounge access. That needs to be booked as much as 30 days in advance as that is not run by Hoxton

Great, stylish property in a great neighborhood ( Williamsburg). Only complaint is that they don’t have any parking (or valet).

Lovely hotel. The janitorial crew is fantastic but the rugs create a lot of lint. It would ball up on my socks when I walked across the room. This creates a lot of dust and, even after janitorial left it spotless, the rug fuzz would just accumulate again and cover the wood floor and furniture in a thin layer of dust particles. i wish

Amenities were fine, apart from the bathroom which smelt like sewage. But we had an incident of someone trying to get into the room, which was not followed up on that evening, or the following day, or after checkout - as requested. It was very unnerving situation, which was not met with the concern it should have warranted.

Lovely property, conveniently located near our daughter’s apartment. We had a fantastic view of Manhattan. The only issue we had was with our shower. The water leaked terribly near the floor. We had to roll up multiple towels to use as a barrier to keep it from leaking all over the bathroom. We shared this with the front desk on our 2nd day. They brought us extra towels right away. I hope that they repair this before the next guest as it could cause a lot of damage if left untreated.

They did not clean the room even though I asked the to do it

Great location, one of the better equipped rooms of this size. Housekeeping could have some improvement, trash was left for multiple days, bedding was worn and dusty, needing wiping down, and they tried to bang on the door while the do not disturb sign was on.

Bathroom has a big problem When I shower the water leaked and spread out side the shower, totally wet

Overall great property and stay. Only bad part was that the hot water temperature fluctuates a lot and scalded me a few times. Expect better for this price.

The hotel is amazing. My only complaint is that when you use the shower, the bathroom floods and there are barely enough towels to keep everything dry. This has happened at multiple stays at the property. My only issue is that they should provide you with an extra stack of towels if this is a known problem.

This was my 3rd stay (and probably the last.) at The Hoxton and was sadly a bit disappointed. The hallways (5th floor) reeked of weed. My bathroom didn’t seem like it was cleaned very well. So random but the ceiling in the bathroom had hair all over it. It was was strange and gross. Also no house keeping at this place anymore to take out trash or bring fresh towels. Love the area and staff but probably won’t return.

The AC was out on our floor so we had a portable unit which was noisy and dripped water everywhere. Because the window wasn’t full closed the street noise from the rooftop club across the street was bonkers. We were offered another room, which was supposed to be ready by noon or 1pm at the latest. It was 2pm Before we got the room which messed up Our afternoon plans. The check in lady, while lovely, stated she would refund our first nights stay by way of compensation. That has not happened even though I’ve emailed twice to follow-up. I’ve stayed at this Hoxton and many others around the world and love the environment they typically create. I hope they can course correct.

These rooms are TINY. Stayed with a friend in a room with 2 twin beds, and that's literally all there is enough space for is the two twin beds. That said, the beds were comfortable enough. But I got home to an unknown charge for $43 from Hoxton and the only thing I can think of is it must be from using the teabag style coffee they had in the room. $43 for garbage teabag coffee! You've got to be kidding. If you stay here, don't touch the coffee! Also, the walls are THIN. You can hear everything in the hallway and even what's going on next door. Just not a great experience for several hundred dollars a night in Brooklyn.

Really great room and location at an affordable price. Nice interior and friendly enough staff. The WiFi didn’t work very well in the room and you could hear noise from the hallway during the night. But overall I would recommend and also book here again.

Smooth check in, polite staff, comfy bed, cute decor just wish the room had walking and luggage room. Definitely recommend to book a bigger room if you can. Standard room can’t be more than 115sqft.

Great view and Quiet But Room Size small and no bath tub

The Hoxton is a great hotel to enjoy Williamsburg, greater Brooklyn and Manhattan. Our room was small, but well organized, very quiet, with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom had nice fixtures and great hot water. The hotel has a lounge that is a good place to sit and have a coffee or cocktail. The Hoxton is close to many good restaurants and is 3 blocks from the L which takes you right into Manhattan. The staff is helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.

Everything was nice, but noise level was very high from room next door; very thin walls.

Room was so small we could barely walk around the bed. No place at all to put a suitcase let alone 2 TV was not working either Will never stay at this hotel again

A modern hotel, built within the past 10 years, the architecture and decorations are very nice; good vibe throughout the hotel. The location is excellent, convenient to interesting neighborhoods, shopping, restaurants, and public transportation, with nice views of Manhattan from the rooms on the west side of the hotel. Our major negative with the Hoxton is the size of the rooms. Most of the choices are described as 170 square feet (“cozy”), and while something like 10 by 17 (including bathroom and entry hall) might seem OK, the reality is something different. With a king size bed, the remaining space (area to walk, sit, stand or store luggage) was miniscule – four feet between the side of the bed and the window; three feet between the foot of the bed and a wall; around 18 inches along the side of the bed. Two big drawers under the bed offer good storage, but there is no useful furniture in the rooms – two tiny night tables, a small (useless) drop front desk, and a piece with a bar for about 8 or 10 hangers. The bathroom is similarly cramped. On the Hoxton website, you’ll see some attractive common areas, seating for the bar and a restaurant, but don’t count on being able to get a seat in any of these areas. Residents of the neighborhood seem to enjoy the free WiFi and air conditioning, and that didn’t leave much room for hotel guests. The price was OK, bumped up from what seemed to be the standard $249 weekday rate to $500 per night for the weekend.

Super loud. None of the rooms are sound proofing any way. You can even hear the elevator dinging up and down the building all day/night. Doors slamming constantly will wake you up.

Arrived at the hotel at 2:40 and was told my room was not ready and I was asked to wait in the lobby. Check in was at 2, but the delay in being able to check I. Was not apologized for and no courtesy items were offered when asked to wait. They ended up being able to get me into my room quicker as I said I had to get to the event that brought me to the city; however, I went into my room, then went back down to the lobby to get a coffee, and when I arrived back, a hotel staff member was in my room. We weren’t able to communicate effectively so I have no idea what she was doing in there. Then i went to turn on the lights, but the lights did not work. One of the hotel cleaners was in the hallway who confirmed to me the lights weren’t working and called maintenance. The maintenance workers came and were able to fix the problem, but it required them to be in and out of the room testing the lights for another 10 minutes or so. As noted, I was short on time to get to my event, and having people in and out of the room- from the surprise staff member to the last minute maintenance- prevented me from being able to get ready as quickly as I’d hoped. Then, the next morning at 9am, the cleaning team woke me up by knocking on my door and yelling to see if they could come in. My check out was that morning, so I don’t know why they would not just wait until I departed. The hotel itself was great and the people were kind, but definitely not the ideal experience.

Lovely stay, had a really cute staff member who went above and beyond to help make my sons birthday special.

The front desk staff was excellent. We had them store out bags for a few hours before check in and they were very accommodating and friendly.

The hotel is in a prime location in Williamsburg near cool restaurants and bars which is great. The interior of the property is really cool although classic New York tiny rooms. Considering how expensive the hotel is the service was really poor overall, no making of beds, some staff were lovely and some were really rude and made us feel very unwelcome - you weren’t sure what to expect. It was quite disappointing for that reason. I wouldn’t stay there again.

Selected the Hoxton because of the 2 pm check in, as we were in town for a wedding. At 2 pm, We were told our room was not ready, but it was being cleaned right then and would soon be ready. They took my cell number and we went to have lunch, they promised to call or text when ready. We never heard back, so we returned at 3 and were told it was still not ready. Finally I went to the desk at 3:45, and they said it was ready. No one ever called or texted to say it was ready. And we verified they had the correct number, they just failed to do what they promised they would do. Overall, this hotel staff thinks they’re much smarter and cooler than they are, they need some serious training on what customer service is. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

After a very long day, my sister and I were told we could not go get a drink upstairs, even though we were hotel guests. (This was at 8 pm on a Sat) it was abundantly clear that we did not fall into the ‘desired patron’category. At breakfast the following morning, we had to sit for 30 min waiting for our check, while being completely ignored 3 separate times by the waitress walking by as we said excuse me, waved our hand, stood up, etc. Additionally, the top 40s tunes blasted over the speakers at 10 am were incongruent with the general tone of the Mediterranean experience. I have stayed here before, but I am not sure that I will again

The hotel was well located and what we expected, in terms of lodging. My complaint arises due to an issue we had losing our room key. We dealt with a staff member who was immediately unfriendly to my friends and I. Only after we were, essentially, written off did our party become unfriendly to the staff member. The staff member, time and again, created impediments to solving a very basic problem. I have travelled my entire 38 year old life and stayed in a lot of hotels and have never received this level of poor service, in any hotel I've ever visited. He made us feel 2nd class in a hotel we had already paid for.

This property is a gem. From the lobby coffee bar to the incredible views of the Manhattan skyline there is nothing not to love. The rooms were comfortable and stylish with a great bathroom. I was allowed an early check in without begging and they desk staff helped me out several times with warmth and professionalism. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm ever in Brooklyn

Two nice restaurants, nicely decorated. Room on the small side, no creamer in room for coffee. No free breakfast and pay breakfast bar opened at 7:00AM, with expensive pastries and coffees. Limited dinner menu only had non-traditional items. Menu same in dining room and bar area. Staff most pleasant, polite and professional.

Williamsburg is nice area with many small shops and good restaurants. The hotel is located near the center of Williamsburg. It also has a good access to Manhattan via subways.

Great location, super convenient to the train stop as well as a ton of restaurants in walking distance

This property is close to all the good places and shopping. I love staying here because the view of manhattan is so beautiful and the rooms are cozy.

I love Williamsburg and this is so conveniently placed with great access to the L train, so in 3 stops you're in Union Square in the thick of Manhattan but can easily travel back to the Quieter area of Brooklyn where this Hotel is located once you've shopped and seen a Broadway show. the shops and cafe's local to the hotel are varied and all of great quality with options for every budget. smaller shops for fun things and also bigger retailers too. I'm much happier staying here rather than in Manhattan itself with the bonus being, the view of Manhattan from the Hotel room!

I enjoyed my stay at the Hoxton. Great location, not too far away from the city and there were a lot of good restaurant options nearby.

Amazing location for getting around and very clean rooms! Only issue was noise from the restaurant through my window late at night.

Had a nice stay at the Hoxton. My only complaint is that you have to request room service every day. Outside of that, the hotel is so cute. There are 3 restaurants, one being a rooftop. I love the coziness of the lobby. Makes you feel like you’re at home.

The brunch and coffee shop have luscious pastries and fresh produce options. Love this place!! Recommending it to my children who live near by.

I had a wonderful stay with a restaurant and bar on site, close to other restaurants. The room was clean and the staff were great! I would recommend this place for your next stay, as I will again when I come back!

Extremely clean, beautifully appointed and well located. The resident restaurants were delicious (although very busy and open to the public, so reservations absolutely needed). The rooms were quite small, especially with luggage, so it was a bit cramped. Also, the lobby seating areas were mostly filled with locals on laptops rather than guests. Probably suitable for individuals or younger couples looking for a great location in Williamsburg and spotless rooms. Maybe slightly more style over substance in terms of amenities for hotel guests.

Great hotel space with good vibes and nice rooms. Very walkable to multiple transit options or to just explore Williamsburg. Would absolutely stay here again—don’t forget to snag a reservation for Laser Wolf (the rooftop restaurant) in advance of your trip, too. Great views and food.

NY trendy hotel! Very small rooms & cleaning & fresh towels on request only. Restaurant was great. Could not get into roof top without reservation . Was 2hour wait each night. Overall good experience except when fire alarm went off around 1am on Friday night & was false alarm.

This property was great for our purposes; however, we were disappointed that we were unable to enjoy the two on-site restaurants as they were full both weekend nights. Had we known we would have made reservations when we booked.

Our 4-night stay at the Hoxton was lovely. Our room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. Premium bedding too. Be aware that rooms are TINY, even by NYC standards. I dresser, no closet, just a freestanding cart with hangers. In other words, we couldn’t unpack our bags, except maybe into trundle drawers under the bed. The lobby was buzzing with activity morning, noon, and evening, and the espresso bar there has wonderful pastries. The espresso wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t bad. A little weak for my taste. The food at the lobby-level restaurant, K’far, was outstanding and we didn’t need a reservation to be seated pretty quickly. It’s got a large dining area but the room is not loud and it’s filled with live greenery and there’s a glass-roofed patio. So pleasant. I’ll be dreaming about the Jerusalem bagel and also the hummus with beef for a long time. The mushroom couscous too. Cocktails were great and inventive. And the hotel is in a great location. Quiet, safe, and so easy and quick to get into Manhattan, plus the shopping/eating in Williamsburg is itself totally great. Swanky-ish mixed with normal. If you’re want to go the rooftop bar, Laser Wolf, be sure to reserve as far in advance as you can. It was booked solid every night we were there. Would highly recommend the Hoxton to all who can afford it.
