We had a decent sized twin room that was very comfortable, but a bit on the “smallish” size since we were traveling with 2 big suitcases. The hotel is in good location, with easy access to public transportation, shopping, dining and some top sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early, which was a nice gesture. A major plus is that they had coin operated laundry rooms on 2 floors. Another plus was that in the evenings, 6 days a week, they had a Maiko perform a couple of dances in the hotel lobby plus allowed guests the opportunity to take photos with her. They also have live music available on Friday evenings. This is definitely a hotel I would return to on a future visit to Kyoto.

Very nice hotel with Japanese touches. They have daily short performances by Japanese artists such as kabuki and geisha which i highly recommend. For geisha in particular i hope this discourages tourists from chasing them since they've had the chance to see one up close and take photos. The onsen is also very nice.

We had a nice stay in this hotel. The location was good, and we enjoyed the dance performance. The restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. However, on the day of checkout, I couldn’t find one of the room keys. One receptionist said I must pay a penalty, but later another receptionist checked me out without asking for any fee. As I was leaving, the first receptionist followed me to the exit and insisted that I go back to pay the penalty. I found this behaviour unnecessarily strict and unpleasant, especially since the other room guests were not charged. The hotel also doesn’t have its own parking, and nearby parking was very expensive. The price list they gave us for parking wasn’t correct. The massage service was done in our room rather than on a proper massage bed, which was uncomfortable. The laundry room also wasn’t great — it closes at midnight, so if your clothes are still inside, you can’t collect them until morning, and the dryer didn’t work efficiently, leaving clothes damp. Overall, the stay was fine, but several service issues made it less enjoyable.

Leider muss man um zum Aufzug zu gelangen am Raucherbereich vorbei - das ist unangenehm. Wellnessbereich sehr modern, lädt zum Entspannen ein. Am Frühstücksbuffet leider häufig leere Schalen oder kein Besteck vorgefunden, teilweise auch durch wenig Rücksicht anderer anwesender Gäste verschuldet. Zimmer wirklich eher klein und eng.

The room is quite small, it's hard to open the luggage, it's smaller than average room size in Kyoto. The public bath is very small as well. If you drive a car, don't book this hotel, as the parking nearby is super expensive. We pay 4700 yen every night.

From the moment I walked into this property you could feel the relaxed tranquility , the staff were warm and welcoming. Only down side was my room was on the floor with the smoking area so you could smell that strong scent of tobacco on exiting the lifts to the room.

We had a lovely stay at this Japanese boutique style hotel. The hotel is in a great location - walking distance to food and shopping markets, restaurants, bars and tourist areas, and has a metro subway close by. On most evenings the hotel hosts events such as sake tasting and a Meiko performance, which were really enjoyable. The onsen / spa was also a highlight.

Appreciated the thoughtfulness of the cleaning staff to leave you water, towels, and stuff in a bag on your door even when you don’t need cleaning. The onsen is good but be aware it’s a pretty basic one that is the size of a small swimming pool.

Cool ‘Japanese’ style room with separate entrance, tatami mat etc. Room is a little cuttered so feels small; hotel is pretty western. Hotel spa requires guests to cover up tattoos according to the rules. They sell coverup stickers for ¥200c but for anything other than a small tattoo you’ll need a LOT of them. Guests in the spa didn’t actually care about the presence of tattoos, however…..

We stayed six nights at the Resol, Kyoto. The location could not be better, being close to great restaurants and must-see’s while not being in a super touristy area. The room itself, however, was not great. Firstly, it is a tiny room and it barely fits two people. Secondly, bathroom is almost made out of plastic, with the toilet feeling like being close to falling off. Lastly, while cleaning only took place every 2nd day, it was not done well. We had one day where visible dust was on the furniture. All in all a good stay (due to the location) but the hotel does not live up to a four star rating.

Habitación limpia, instalaciones lindas, personal amable, y Onsen muy lindo. La ubicación era perfecta, podías caminar o tomar transporte cerca y todas las amenidades que dejan en el cuarto son muy consideradas para mayor confort. Mi único comentario negativo es que las toallas tenían un leve olor a humedad aunque las cambiaran diario.

Property was very nice upon entrance and so were the staff however the hotel smells like smoke and even our towels did as well. The rooms also are not as nice as the hotel lobby which give off a different vibe. We did also find a bug on our bed at night. Both of which we expressed to the reception and they just said “sorry.”

The room was a bit small, but normal for Japanese rooms. The bed was comfortable and the hotel had lots of toiletries to take if you needed them! It was also convenient to have laundry in the building as we had already been in Japan for a week and needed to do some laundry. Great location within walking distance to major shopping and Nishiki market.

If you have more than 1 large suitcase, good luck navigating around the room. Half the room is taken up by a table and chairs. Ended up placing the suitcase on it. Our queen bed was two mattresses pushed together creating a large uncomfortable seam and divot you roll into. The bathroom had a tiny shelf making getting ready difficult. The "spa like atmosphere" meant the hallways were barely illuminated. Do not do laundry at the hotel. The are two tiny washers and dryers on two different floors.400 yen to wash, 100 to dry, but your clothes will never be dry with one 30 minute cycle. Even after an hour many articles were damp. It wasn't from over filling, the dryers just didn't get hot enough. Breakfast buffet was good, but there are so many options nearby that are cheaper. 7-11 is right around the corner which was super convenient. Even better is Taramachi market is right across the street. Great shopping and food. Covered walkway so nice option for cutting through without getting rained on. Also close access to buses and trains from the hotel.

Overall, good value. Good service. Nice vibe when you enter the hotel. Clean rooms. I really liked the yukata from this hotel. I wanted to bring one home. Good onsen. Nice room, good size. However, with the desk and chairs in the room, it did not make it easy to open suitcase because there wasn't a large floor space for it. Wi-Fi was spotty sometimes. Breakfast was not as nice as other hotels, not as much variety, but still good. Location was very good for what I had planned to do in Kyoto those days.

The deluxe twin room is comfortable for 2 people with 2 carry-ons and 2 small backpacks for a 16 day stay. We found the beds very comfortable. Slightly firm which we like. In our room (4th floor, street facing) the window could be opened for fresh air and a nice breeze which was a delight! Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, toothbrushes, tooth paste, Q-tips epson salt bath soak, coffee, teas and Matcha tea making kit are included. Pajamas too! A pay for use laundry and beverage vending machines available. There is a lovely open air atrium on the 1st floor. The room had heat and cool functions, was very quiet and comfortable. New towels and bottled water were brought daily and new pajamas every 3 days when the room is made up. The breakfast buffet is delicious and included everything from scrambled eggs and sausage, salads, to Nattō, miso and mugwort wheat gluten (a fav). Also local products like the Kyoto tofu. Coffee, juice, smoothies and teas. Note- I didn’t see decaf beverages at the buffet but they can be ordered. The hotel provides excellent included entertainment including Maiko, kabuki, ninja and karate performances. They are “just show up” events and slightly change each performance. Location- excellent for walking, catching the subway and only 1 subway stop away from trains. Buses are a couple blocks walk. The Digital Suica card made travel easy. If you prefer cabs the hotel can call for you. Over all a wonderful place to stay in Kyoto.

We had a decent sized twin room that was very comfortable, but a bit on the “smallish” size since we were traveling with 2 big suitcases. The hotel is in good location, with easy access to public transportation, shopping, dining and some top sights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early, which was a nice gesture. A major plus is that they had coin operated laundry rooms on 2 floors. Another plus was that in the evenings, 6 days a week, they had a Maiko perform a couple of dances in the hotel lobby plus allowed guests the opportunity to take photos with her. They also have live music available on Friday evenings. This is definitely a hotel I would return to on a future visit to Kyoto.

First checked in to smoking floor on 8th but the staff did not ask me if I minded. It was unbearable and they changed to another floor. Check in staff was not so welcoming. Tried breakfast for 1950 Yen. Food was okay but was a bit tired when I had it 30 mins before it closed. Service was so-so. Very good location within walking distance everywhere. Small onsen was good enough. Overall good for low season price of around 8500 Yen per night. Comfortable stay.

We had a nice stay in this hotel. The location was good, and we enjoyed the dance performance. The restaurant food was very good and reasonably priced. However, on the day of checkout, I couldn’t find one of the room keys. One receptionist said I must pay a penalty, but later another receptionist checked me out without asking for any fee. As I was leaving, the first receptionist followed me to the exit and insisted that I go back to pay the penalty. I found this behaviour unnecessarily strict and unpleasant, especially since the other room guests were not charged. The hotel also doesn’t have its own parking, and nearby parking was very expensive. The price list they gave us for parking wasn’t correct. The massage service was done in our room rather than on a proper massage bed, which was uncomfortable. The laundry room also wasn’t great — it closes at midnight, so if your clothes are still inside, you can’t collect them until morning, and the dryer didn’t work efficiently, leaving clothes damp. Overall, the stay was fine, but several service issues made it less enjoyable.

Nice hotel. Loved the dance show. The staff were absolutely fantastic, very welcoming and helpful. I had lost my camera in a taxi and they went out of their way to find the taxi company and arrange for my camera to be delivered. So grateful to them!

Super comfortable and clean experience with the Trinity location. Everything worth checking out was very walkable save a few of the larger temples. The in-house restaurant and bar was perfect for what we needed, and the staff was very kind and knowledgeable. This place made us never want to leave kyoto!

The dining area you must pay as you eat (no room charge). Not many wines or sake (1 of each). They have entertainment daily which is a nice touch but as a non smoker I did not enjoy staying here. Level 8 is a smoking floor but many areas of the hotel smell Smokey and it’s not very pleasant.

The room was a bit small, but normal for Japanese rooms. The bed was comfortable and the hotel had lots of toiletries to take if you needed them! It was also convenient to have laundry in the building as we had already been in Japan for a week and needed to do some laundry. Great location within walking distance to major shopping and Nishiki market.

We loved the atmosphere of this hotel. The room had lively Japanese decor. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good and prices reasonable. Loved the public bath .. we took advantage of that each night! Will stay again if we visit Kyoto again. Will check out this chain in other areas. The beds were also very comfortable.

The staff was incredibly helpful. They communicated well in English and I needed help with taxis, making changing and using their phone to call a local shop. The room was clean and my only downside is that to keep your room A/C on requires keeping your room key card in the slot after entering. As a single guest, I did not have a back up card. I was able to resolve this problem by using the breakfast cards given to me and use one in the slot. Great laundry facilities. Was able to do an entire week’s worth of laundry in one load. 400¥ for the was and 100¥ for 30 minutes of drying time. Great choice for a hotel!
