Haley Hotel

Haley Hotel was a great spot. We stayed in town to walk up State Street and be close to activities. We were very close tot he restaurants and shops. The room was clean, modern and pleasant. Parking is not available on site but is right next door for a fee (we paid $20/night). We were only in town one night so we did not get to play ping pong, chess or corn hole that thy have in the courtyard.

The property is an old motel that they fixed up very cute. The room was on the smaller side but newly remodeled. They removed the pool and set up fun games outside. The area is great on Lower State Street and you can walk to many bars restaurants and the beach. The parking was cheap. I would return.

Way too overpriced for very minimal amenities. Check in wanted images of my ID - front and back - through a separate App. Overnight parking not included, plus another App to pay it. No one was at the front desk to check out in the morning. Only good thing is it’s very close to State St.

Great service, loved the room decor. 4 women in the family room and we had everything we needed. And my dog enjoyed the cute doggy park area too.

Room is small but well decorated with a beach theme. It’s a former motel that was renovated and they did a great job. The court yard has lots of fun activities, including a giant chess board, ping pong table and bikes.

Each room is quite unique and cute. We were a little nervous with the ear plugs provided by the bed, but we had no need for them! The property provides outdoor games, fire pits, water feature, hammock chairs & dog area, again it is quite nice.

There were several fire pits, hammocks and outdoor seating with a wide variety of outdoor games (eg, cornhole, giant connect 4, jenga, ping pong, fooseball). Easily walkable to shopping and restaurants near State Street. Fresh coffee every morning and the electric fireplace in the room was a bonus. Loved all the nautical features.

Parking was easy

Just all around great room 4 the size. (Rooms aren't large but they're comfortable). No closet - but hook on wall is provided with hangers. The outdoor areas are nice, especially if you have a large group - many places to sit and hang around the various fire pits, outdoor games, etc. The only issue may be the noise as it's very centrally located in a hopping part of town - but they even though of that and provide earplugs! We checked out too early to rate and enjoy the free breakfast items offered. There's a reverse osmosis water refill station at the front desk and coffee (nespresso knock off) provided in room and at front desk/lobby. We were very pleasantly surprised. The only thing missing is a pool or jacuzzi and robes. ALSO you have to pay for parking at the lot next door. (Didn't figure that in the price of the room but oh well). It's $20/day with the hotel QR code.

Very cute hotel. I do wish there was a pool or hot tub. Also maybe a spot in the bathroom to put your stuff. I had to put my toiletries bag on the floor. Also, the closeness of one of the lounge areas to the room was quite loud. I was there for a race and needed to get to bed. I think someone said something and they kindly moved. Otherwise, a pleasant stay.

The room was nice. The water pressure in the shower was awful, and the drain didn’t work properly. It’s a very loud hotel and the sheets didn’t seem clean.

I picked this hotel because of the cleanliness rating, the location, and all the activities in the common area. I cannot rate this hotel high enough. I'm one of those people that cleans the hotel before we settle in and I was AMAZED at how clean it was. The room was adorable, my child loved the hanging chair in the room - what a treat. We took advantage of every single activity they had - chess, ping-pong, connect-4, outdoor seating. the only thing we didn't get to use was the bikes because one had a flat. the location is PERFECT. Two minute walk to state street, beautiful 20 minute walk to the beach. Other's posted about it being loud. It is right next to a parking lot which I could see getting loud but it was not loud enough to ruin our stay or disrupt our sleep. 10 stars for Haley hotel. I'm so happy we stayed here.

Very great location! Staff was accommodating. Room and hotel were very cute. But there were ants, mold and the room was always muggy/ everything felt wet.

This hotel looks like it was a renovated motel from back in the day. While it is modern, my sheets were dirty, so was a pillowcase, and my feet were black from dirty floors. I just didn’t feel it was very clean.

Cute place. Central to everything we wanted. Fabulous staff and service. Family owned. Very clean. Understated but great value.

The room was great, though, there was an ant problem. But the staff was very helpful. This is the second time I stayed here. Love the location.

Great spot for a night or two, the room was snug, but very clean and well decorated. Great location, convenient pay parking next door.

2 important things to be aware. 1) very old windows allow noise from blocks away to filter into the room at night. Very difficult to get a good night’s rest due to noise level at night. Any cars or teucks or people noise filters through. 2) glass heater in the room has light that does not turn off. Even at the lowest setting it is very bright. So, either sleep warm but in a lit room or cold and dark room. No other choice. I would look elsewhere next time.

Cute room, very convenient to downtown, with easy, affordable parking. The room does not have a desk or table, so difficult for getting work done, but otherwise quite nice.

The Haley Hotel is a full renovated motel right in the center of downtown Santa Barbara. The location is excellent, it's a short walk to dozens of restaurants, bars, and shops. The beach and much more SB attractions are only a few minutes further on foot. The hotel also offers free cruiser bikes which make navigation of all of SB a breeze (very bike friendly town). The courtyard of the hotel is amazing with a bunch of fun games, seating, mountain views, just a very nice vibe. The room was very clean and comfortable with access to some nice amenities like coffee/tea/snacks in the room and lobby. We loved this hotel but there are a few areas of improvement needed. The hotel's wifi simply didn't work. My wife had to do some remote work and when she asked about the wifi was told by reception 'I normally just use my phone instead'. They also refused to give us standard key cards and insisted that we use an app to unlock the room. This was a bit glitchy, particularly when trying to share the key with other user's phones. Also, being required to download an app with non functional wifi when you've been traveling all day and just want to enter your room... not great and another area where the receptionists weren't very helpful or friendly. We would totally stay here again, love SB! I just hope they address these little issues.

The room was clean and well appointed. The check in process is awful as you do everything online. Why do I need to provide a picture of the front & back of my driver's license? The hotel is adjacent to a popular night club, so is very noisy on the weekends, hence the reason for earplugs left on the nightstand.

Our stay at this hotel was not a good experience our room was on the street and it was as if the window was open but it wasn’t it would have been a much better experience if we were not kept up all night with the street noise maybe they should invest some money in a better sound proof windows

Beds are uncomfortable//small rooms

I wanted to like this place! The "lipstick" is good and the grounds are hip, and it's conveniently located near shops and restaurants. But the foundational needs of a hotel are a good night sleep and some level of service, neither of which we got. In fact, it was painful for me and my 8 year old (who otherwise would sleep through anything). We stayed in Room 6 on the 2nd floor. The slider window that looks out on the street is old/poor quality. We could hear EVERYTHING happening on the street until it finally quieted down about 3AM. There is a TON of activity on the street on a Saturday night, including screaming and what sounded like drag racing and car tires spinning out, over and over again for hours. We kept waiting to hear a crash. It was anxiety-inducing and while the earplugs they left in the room helped take the edge off slightly for me personally, they didn't fit my daughter. Additionally, the A/C did not work so it was HOT in the room even with the ceiling fan full blast, but we couldn't open the windows, so heat + noise made it impossible to sleep. We were grateful when morning finally came and we could leave. Finally, because check-in is done via the app they make you download, and since all communications were digital, I never saw a human being. There was ZERO service that we experienced during our stay. I'm so frustrated that I spent $340 on a hotel ($300 for 1 night + $40 fee for small dog), when a $30 campsite would have been more comfortable.

Nicely decorated, clean rooms. But the attempt to do all checkin and checkout on a mobile app is not convenient for everyone. Neither is the understaffed lobby. The staffperson was helpful enough on the rare occasion when he was there, but he did say there would be coffee in the lobby in the morning and there was not on either day. He showed up to fix the key when I texted him, but phones break, get lost, lose their charge, etc. Some people don't even have them.

This hotel is fine, good location, decent room, no major issues with the hotel itself. However, I will not stay here again because the registration and check-in process is so annoying. Starting two days before my arrival, I started receiving both text messages and emails telling me I had to download apps, register online, check in online, and even after I did all that, which was excessive, I still received messages telling me to do things I had already done. I even received emails asking me to register after I was already in my room. In total I received at least 7 text messages and even more emails for a single night stay. They have gone so far to try to be 'tech advanced' (which really means they hire less people to actually work there), that the process is far more annoying than just showing up, giving someone my ID and payment card, and getting a key.

The hotel was so cute! Great location and lovely unique place. We had one front desk staff that we saw and she had ZERO personality and was not pleasant. She was not welcoming or kind. She should not be working in customer service because she had zero customer service skills. Other than the sad staff, I would recommend this place all day!

What a gem, love the amenities and overall vibe of the place. Perfect location, walking distance to State St and the pier. Really enjoyed our stay!

A great place to stay downtown.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, location was great, right off of State Street with dozens of easily accessible shops and restaurants. It's a converted motel, fully updated and decorated, very charming. Rooms were cute but basic. The provided pastries for breakfast were from a fantastic local bakery! We just felt the price was a bit excessive for what it was.

I was a bit nervous about this reservation bc I couldn’t reach anyone at the property. The day of checkin, I was able to reach someone on the telephone and get a question answered. The checkin, parking and key card are all on apps. I found this to be very convenient and time saving. I was checked in and had my room assignment and key access before I even arrived. I liked it. The location is amazing! Right off state street where all the bars and restaurants are. Was all walkable.

The pictures on the website did not do this place justice. They have turned this into an oasis, lots of relaxing spaces and fire pits for at night. I always saw staff cleaning up around and maintaining the landscaping. It is a very convenient location. The staff was very knowledgeable on places to check out. We were lucky enough to show up on a Tuesday and there was a farmers market going on at State Street. in the lobby for coffee in the morning, they had oat milk, almond milk, and MCT oil for your coffee, which was a huge bonus. Great location we will be back…

Very pleasing hotel with a cute marine theme. Excellent location close to State Street. Breakfast was so-so, but there were good coffee shops nearby. The only complaint is regarding Expedia, when booking they charged me a property fee (whatever that means). At the hotel they charged me again the property fee. When I protested the hotel shared what Expedia was paying them - understandably less than what they charged me, but didn’t expect them to pinch the property fee that was separately charged.

I recently had a an overnight business trip in Santa Barbara and decided to stay at the Hailey Hotel. I checked the photo online before I booked and thought this place looks like it’s cute and has a lot to offer. When I arrived I realized I had to check in online, get my key online, and checkout online. The lobby is really just a desk and no food, beverages, or other items to purchase. The grounds were nice if you want to chill and play corn hole. The room was clean, but the rooms were designed like they were trying to look like they were balling on a budget. Best feature was they are located a block from State Street which has so many options for food and drink.

For this amount of money, you expect more service and a decent breakfast. Dry disappointing.

Simple, clean and convenient. Well-tended grounds. Doors open to outside walkways- something to note for solo and/or female travelers. Contactless check in and out. Area is walkable to several coffee shops and restaurants. Surprised by unpleasant odors, and opted to drive to most locations. Made a good stop for a quick and hassle-free overnight in SB.

Very nice hotel. The room was well designed and decorated! It had all the amenities one could ask for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was half a block away from all the major restaurants in Santa Barbara! I would definitely return if visiting Santa Barbara!
