Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort - All Inclusive

Great all-inclusive value! Staff were very friendly. Variety of pools & dining options were really good. All 3 resorts were clean including public area washrooms. Great relaxing family vacation.

Beautiful property. Staff was very friendly and willing to help with any questions. Butler proactively reached out to ensure we had everything we needed. All pools were lovely and plenty of chairs. Spa experience was amazing. Downside was the sargassum at the beach. Staff worked hard every day to clean it up.

We had a wonderful time at the Ventus at Marina El Cid & Spa. The resort was beautiful, staff was very friendly, restaurants served high quality food with lots of options, and service was incredible. There were lots of activities for the kids and the pools provided lots of fun for them too - foam party, waterslides, cliff jumping, volleyball, polo, and water games everyday. The only drawback to this resort is the beach. It is very narrow, has big sandbags blocking the swimming area, and it had a lot of green seafood washing up on it. We did not use it alt all. If the beach is not a huge priority, I would highly recommend this resort.

This is my 4th time at this resort. You can't beat how delicious the food is. The Kobo restaurant experience is especially spectacular. The rooms are spacious and clean. I love the adults only pool area and bar. It's a beautiful property with decent gyms.

We liked that we had access to all 3 El Cid resorts and that they were walkable. Golf carts are available but may tale a bit during peak times. Never waited longer than 5 minutes for a cart. Restaurants were very delicious. The seaweed on the beach and smell of the seaweed made people stay away. All in all property was great.

This resort was beautiful! The adults only infinity pool and bar area was our favorite. There are three properties very close to each other that you can enjoy amenities in. Very good restaurants to choose from across these properties. I’d definitely return.

Beautiful pools and plenty of lounging areas and seating. Great staff, loved room service and delicious food options late at night.

Food is amazing and lots of varieties. Excellent pools. Lived the bars and drinks at the Wave bar. Staff were very nice and formal. Our room was very clean and taken care of daily. A/C worked great and never had issues. The only downside of this property is it doesnt have ocean view that other places in Cancun has. And mosquitoes were annoying once the sun went down. Bring bug spray. But didnt noticed bugs after 10pm or so.

The staff paid everyone so much respect and could not do enough for us. The food was first class with there always being something available to eat depending on your taste.one downside Aircon was sometimes too cold.all of the pool areas were exceptionally well maintained .the general cleanliness of rooms and gardens were fantastic and you could eat the food off the floor if you so wished booking in was so quick and easy with minimal fuss taken to your room by golf carts which were always available to get you round the complex. Fantastic resort definitely worth visiting at any time.

Bedroom was very nicely done. Simple clean and comfortable bed. Grounds were beautifully manicured gardens not a square inch of space that wasn't looked after. Italian restaurant was excellent and very nice service everywhere. Just terrible septic smell from time to time but was very off putting otherwise I would have rated this resort a 4.5 ⭐.

Buffet food was low quality, I guess due to mass quantities. Mold on room walls and bathroom/shower. Dont like that you cannot make a reservation to restaurants until on property, yet everything is booked when you arrive. No towel service after 6, but the pool is open til 1030. The room smelled awful and the beds were uncomfortable. The waitstaff was highly attentive and the pools qere great, but other than that, was very disappointed. I even brought the mold to the front desks' artention and they completely ignored it. Walked over to Ventus Ha - completely different experience. The place looked and smelled great, the food was good. Ventus at Marina left us not wanting to go back at all!

Beautiful resort!! Very clean and well taken care of. Our room was incredible. Every dining room and pool area was its own unique experience, which we loved. Every staff member made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back.

As many amenities the resort had unfortunately cleanliness does not seem to be it's priority around the pool/eating areas in particular.

Well maintained resort.

We stayed for 5 nights and loved how cleaned, well maintained the landscapes around the property. The room with ocean view was okay, nice and cleaned. We didn’t get the full view of the ocean as we hoped as there were trees by the balcony blocked the view. We stayed on the second floor building 27, Platinum Luxury. The room has everything we needed. We had two butlers assigned day shift and night shift. Ricardo and Freddy both were great! They came and checked to make sure we got everything we needed for the room and they helped made reservation for our last night there. Dining options and food were good. Everyone at the property were super friendly and helpful. Definitely would commend to our friends and family, and stay here again in the future.

We got a swim up room & it was the best!

Overall, the hotel is at a good level, with decent food, friendly staff, and a decent selection of restaurants. However, it wasn’t without its downsides — in the last two days of our stay, it was a complete nightmare: no internet coverage, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, there were power outages, they were running on a generator, and the air conditioners didn’t work. Just terrible. But overall, I would rate it 6 out of 10.

Everything looks great except the internet and WI-FI It’s so weird I have to pay $60 dollars per night for the internet and WI-FI

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. Food was excellent at the buffets and à la cart. There were a ton of options and the quality, freshness and tastes were great. I want to shout out Liliana who made us eggs every morning in the French restaurant. She was so kind and awesome at her job. The rooms were simple, clean, modern and functional. The pools were awesome as well with a lot of options. If you wanted something quiet or you wanted a party there were options. each pool had a shallow area for kids, which was fantastic. There were a lot of great activities such as Pickleball or staff lead exercises such as stretch stretching (shoutout to Raul)! We really enjoyed the taco Fest and the Independence Day celebrations. The effort to decorate and entertain was amazing. Some things that weren’t so great were the beach which was unusable due to seaweed and the smell. Also wish that there were straws available for those who needed them (such as kids). To add to that it would be nice to have lids for coffee, especially when you take it on the go. Overall, a really great resort although there was no beach the rest of it made up for it. Thank you

You will be charged more taxes by the hotel than what is listed directly on your booking. They charged different rates for different guests. Also, they do NOT uphold their policy for cancellation or changes made after the date listed on your reservation. Unfortunately we stayed during the Sargassum and disappointed the hotel did not communicate that the beach was unusable due to all the seaweed. The smell also was so bad it made some in our party nauseous and sick. The hotel does not work collaboratively with Expedia. Positives were the rooms were nice, the coffee Aromas was excellent and the staff remember what you order each day! The restaurants were also pretty good. We did tire of the lunch buffets but ate at the seafood, French, hibachi, Italian and Mexican restaurants. Mexican was our least favorite. Hotel itself is extremely large and spread out. We had to get picked up by golf carts from hotel for certain nights to get to our dinner reservation. Overall nice stay as there were plenty of pools to swim in but the whole point was to go for the ocean as well. We had to pay to go one mile down the road to a completely clear beach. We went with our whole family and that’s what made the trip better.

It was ok, won't go back though. You get what you pay for! There were too many misses. Firstly, check in took too long. 45 mins with only 1 person working at the counter. We paid $750 CAD ($505 USD) to upgrade to 1 bedroom suite for 5 nights since it has 2 full washrooms. On the website it clearly states the 1 bedroom comes with platinum level. But they demanded additional $700 for that which would be well over $1400 CAD to get the platinum level. This was so disappointing. When I asked why we aren't getting the platinum as stated on the website.. they said it's if u had booked 1 bedroom directly on the website you would get platinum but because it's an upgrade we can't offer it. Thats just unbelievable! I stated this should have been written on the website and he said "yah so sorry". so we paid for the upgrade but didn't get the platinum. There were no welcome drinks during check in either. Roberto at the front desk did not give any info at all. No resort map, no dining options, no kids club or activities info, nothing at all. I had to ask about all this myself and was then given the resort map and told to talk to concierge for dinner resos. The lady concierge was helpful. We booked 1 dinner reservation before arriving, and 2 after. The bracelets were extremely tight and sharp and uncomfortable. Wifi is $50 usd per person Beach doesnt exist. Service was mixed. Food was above average. Didnt like the open concept bathrooms. Toilet stalls had no exhaust fans.

We upgraded to a walkout pool just to get bit by mosquitoes and there were construction across making it noisy.

I upgraded and Platinum and wouldn’t do it any other way. I had a butler who catered to me 24 hours a day. My butler made my dinner reservations and would pick me up in the golf cart within minutes when I need to go to a different part of the resort. The roof top bar was beautiful. My favorite was the service.

Ventus was amazing the staff was great and the site is immaculate. The biggest problem with it was the high pressure sales to buy into the Ventus hotel. This is extremely disappointing and something to consider when booking this hotel. Time spent in paradise should come with no pressures especially to spend more money. Truly disappointed.

This is a great resort! Dining options were very good, no complaints at any of the restaurants! Service was above and beyond! Friendly staff, opt for the Platinum- easy check in, great service, butlers who check several times a day to see if there’s anything you need. Ventus, where we stayed was great, quieter than Marina El Cid, walked all the property- Ventus Ha was very nice also. We truly have ZERO complaints! One excursion we booked (outside booking) the transportation mixed up, we had the resort get us a Taxi, and it was great - the driver took us into Cancun (40 minute ride), I went to pay him, he said, no, he’ll pick us up later (6 hours) and we can pay him when we get back to the hotel - so nice!! Safe place, great people. One thing to be aware of - when you book through Expedia, you only get WiFi for two devices, we had to pay extra for other devices (cell service for us wasn’t very good - Verizon). Overall, we highly recommend this entire resort!

Overall this was a nice property and it suited what we needed. The only bad thing I would say is that we were told that to dine at the non buffet hotels we needed to make reservations 2 days in advance at the most. We arrived on a Thursday and when we were told this we immediately to the concierge where we were told to make reservations for Saturday night and then tried Sunday. They told us that all restaurants were booked up until Tuesday. We left Monday morning. Only other thing is that there was no pool side service for drinks. And if there was we never saw them. Other than that it was a much needed vacation and we enjoyed our time to relax

The staff was a mixture of amazing and inattentive. The chefs and waiters they go above and beyond to make sure you feel taken care of and relaxed. But the first night we arrived we were waiting on services we had asked for night 1, 2 etc and we didn't receive the services until the day before we left. I feel the staff have good hearts but they are forgetful. During check in we didn't receive a map and we had to figure a lot of things on our own.

This property was great! The facility was nice and clean. The staff was super friendly and accommodating! Olaf, at the front desk, was phenomenal! Getting to the property looks a bit sketchy but we always felt completely safe.

Since you can go to all 3 of the El Cid properties which are connected you can choose whatever vibe you’re looking for. Calm and relaxed or active and fun. The resort is double gated and is very safe.

Pros: This recent trip to Cancun was my families 6th time visiting. We loved staying at the Ventus property, the hotel and surrounding resorts are amazing. The food is the best resort food we have ever had, drinks were okay. Service at ALL the restaurants was superb, we have a positive experience everywhere we went. We especially liked having access to all 3 resorts on the property. The options for activities and entertainment were great for the whole family. My young daughter and nephew loved going to the kids club, they had top notch care and activities. Rox, Claudia, Mar and Nikki did a great job with organizing and keeping things really fun. We will definitely consider going back to the Ventus properties, we loved our stay. Cons: The beach was disappointing, we were unable to swim. The positive is that the Puerto Morelos town is about a 4 minutes away in an uber and the beach there is stunning. We spent a day there and it made up for the lack of beach at Ventus. Keep up the great work, and thank you for our wonderful experience.

The property was beautiful and very well maintained. We felt very safe all around the resort and Puerto Morelos. The food was amazing! By far the best food I’ve had at an all inclusive! We booked the platinum club package (unknowingly) and it was amazing. The staff really made the trip so enjoyable. The butlers were our favourite part. They felt like family by the time our stay was over. The only negative from our stay here was the beach. The water was very brown and stinky and there were so many bugs in the water close to shore, but not the seaweed I have been reading about in many other posts from resorts on the east coast side of Mexico.

Overall great for the cost. Newer property section at Ventus where we stayed. Beautiful grounds, great selection of restaurants and very good food. Not too small and not too large, so very walkable. The sister properties Marina and Ha offered additional pools and restaurants. Only negatives, not the prettiest beach, but there is a very nice beach in town which is walking distance or a $12 taxi ride. Also, pools are on the cold side and seemed like only front pool was heated. Overall, very nice time at a great place and I would recommend.

All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. There were lots of fun activities and entertainment every day, and the environment around the hotel was beautiful and relaxing. The food was quite good — nothing extraordinary, but solid and satisfying. My favorite place was the café, where you could always grab a snack whenever you felt hungry. The only minor inconvenience was that for dinner, if you didn’t want the buffet and wanted to try one of the à la carte restaurants, you had to make a reservation two days in advance — and sometimes if you went too late, they were already fully booked. Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely come back again! 🌴

We had two rooms at this property from Oct 11th-18th. Our family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens & child) stayed in Ventus, and my MIL stayed in the Marina. We’ve been all over Mexico every year for holiday, and was excited to try the ‘El CID’ brand due to the rave reviews. I literally could not find more than one or two negative reviews for this place, but unfortunately im going to have to ruin that streak: Pros: The food! This resort takes pride in their restaurants, and the servers and chefs are well beyond the standard all-inclusive dining experiences. Kobo - Japanese Teppanyaki (5 stars! My favorite) Make sure you go in hungry, because it’s a lot of food!! Trattoria De Gulio - Italian (Our least favourite but was still decent - recommend the calamari) El Alcázar - Mediterranean (5 stars - this was my husband’s favourite. Absolutely delicious & fresh) Aakat - (4 stars- My MIL’s favorite for the roast burger, and I devoured the flank steak on a volcano stone medium rare) the side of corn was no bueno, and at all costs avoid the cheese dessert! It smelt and tasted like mouldy laundry left too long in the washing machine. Corn flake with Tequila was a hit though. French Restaurant - (3 stars - I liked the French onion soup, and salmon was just okay) The breakfast buffet buffet was good, lunch options great, dinner.. no good. Needs structure. Cons: Surprise charges ($200 more than Expedia advised, pushy/rude staff, dirty beach, no entertainment at night, spotty housekeeping)

We love everything about The Ventus! The grounds are gorgeous and the people are very helpful and friendly. Restaurants are superb.

Absolutely incredible food, location and great staff. The resort is spotless and there are so many dining options.
