Great location, right behind the national Gallery. Nickle and dine you with charges such as $20 per bag for luggage storage If you arrive before your room is ready or need to leave your bags after checkout. Room was exceptionally small, but clean. They have a stupid rabbit that takes up about 2 feet of space, when what they really needed was a luggage rack to put my suitcase on. There were just two of us in the room and thank God we weren’t in the room for that long.

Location, location, location. Just steps away from shops, restaurants, the Tube, and Trafalgar Sq. This was the perfect spot if you want to be in the heart of Central London. Rooms are small, and don't have a TV, but we were too busy enjoying the city to spend too much time in the room anyways. Room was clean and staff was very helpful. Best part of the hotel was their rooftop bar with 360° views of the city.

Location was 10/10! Could not pick a more central location that is so close to the tube. Room was adequate for a solo person (I got the “cozy w/ extra space”). The hotel really is meant to be a place for just sleeping. There is no real lobby (there’s an employee/kiosk when you walk in), and the rooms don’t have any seating besides the bed (no desk/chair even though there was space). It is definitely a basic, no frills hotel, but it was clean and simple and did the job for me as a solo traveler. Only downsides I experienced were that 1 of the 2 elevators was out of service the entire week I was there and the lack of storage in the room (particularly in the shower and by the sink) made getting ready inconvenient. All that said, I would stay here again for the overall value and location.

Convenient location and room was adequate and clean. We had problems with the lights, though (which I read afterwards others had had, too). The light switch by the bed didn’t seem to control all the lights and when I turned on the light on my side of the bed it turned others on, too. So it was either all off or all on. It was also not clear where the ‘night light’ of the bathroom was. We liked the roof terrace, where we had a drink on the night we stayed and had breakfast the next morning. We had not booked breakfast but we asked if we could decide on the day and they said yes. What they didn’t say then is that it costs more on the day vs booking in advance - £22.50! For a buffet breakfast. There wasn’t even that much to choose from and some of it was cold. Rip off. I suppose you pay for the location and view (?)

Our Experience at the Assembly Hotel was bad. The rooms werd very dirty and stinky. We has a little room without a Window. That was out mistske we disnt read the describtion in every detail. So that menas you cant open the window too get some fresh air, that wouldnt be a problem if the ventilation system would be working fine. In every corner was dust and dirt. The Air condition was extremely dirty. We asked for a cleaning. We assume they just made the bed and changed the towels the room was as dirty as before. In our room were no cleaning accesoires for the toilet. The Wlan worked fine and the location is perfect for exploring the city. The people at the reception tried their best.

The shower lights flickered, and the room had some dust, which unfortunately triggered my allergies. However, the staff were exceptionally friendly, efficient, and accommodating, which made the stay more pleasant despite these issues. The Hotel is near leicester square underground. Right next to de hippodrome and chinatown. We had a room facing a small road which was more quiet than the main road. We felt the walls weren’t very quiet, you can hear other doors closing. Room cleaning came very late in the day like 4p.m. If your only in the room to sleep its perfect! Cleaning during the stay can be improved but overall we liked the services

The location is great but very very limited space in the rooms and thats why in their ad they have the girl sitting on the window.. no place to put your luggage or clothes..no place to sit..the beds are too small for a couple. We were infested by ants however they made it up by moving us to a different hotel.

The hotel is in a fantasic location, steps away from leicester square and trafalger square, as well as the tube. Considering the location, the room was fairly quiet and we didnt struggle to sleep which was great considering it was NYE and so busy. We had a couple of minor issues in the room - flicerking light above the sink and a screw hanging out of the door handle but nothing major that affected us. The only thing i felt was the carpet was in need of a deep clean and just felt a little musty but again, wasnt major. For the convenient location, we would definitely stay again in the future. The FOH staff were all lovely

Room was dirty, liquid stains on the walls, dirty shower curtain and marks on the carpet. No TV or kettle in rooms. Was given an accessible room although we didn’t request one, so sink was extremely small and difficult to use. Was not advised that breakfast would be more expensive if we chosen on the day rather than booking at check in. They attempted to charge a service fee for a buffet style breakfast. Good location but would not return to the hotel. Disappointing.

Great location. Room very small. Not a lot of room about the bed. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room but shower amazing. Breakfast very efficient and clean, the staff were amazingly attentive. It was also on the top floor with an amazing view of London and balcony. We were on the first floor and you could hear the rumble from the tube trains but I had earplugs and it didn’t stop either of us sleeping. Room decor well presented although the seat was a pink rabbit with a studded leather collar a padlock.

Pros: Comfortable bed, soundproof room, convenient location, suitcase storage under the bed, blackout curtains, they plant trees if you don't have your room cleaned, solid wifi, cups provided for water Cons: Extremely loud plumbing when in use, very small sink, only one end table and no other surfaces to place items, AC stopped working multiple times even after the staff reset it, absurd amount of light switches with some seemly having no purpose, a large bunny with no purpose that takes up room in the small space you have, the "rooftop" restaurant is actually just a top floor with lots of windows and overpriced drinks and food I would recommend checking out other hotels in this location.

The rooms are small but the location is unbeatable. Located in the center of the action and walking distance from the closest metro station. The check-in and check out process was very easy. Overall very worth the stay if looking for a great location more so than a luxury room.

Excellent location with fantastic soundproofing. Staff seemed friendly and very happy to help, though not in your face. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was immaculately clean. I asked for a high floor and view if possible, both of which they were able to give me. A few things could have made the stay better .... Not the same amenities as you'd find in similarly priced compact hotels very close by e.g. Kettle/Coffee Machine, bottle of water/water fountain, TV, shelf/caddy in shower. I also found the lighting set up a bit difficult to navigate, but I probably didn't try very hard. Overall, I thought it was slightly overpriced for the category. I'd definitely stay again if the price was right, but I'd probably try a similar compact hotel nearby first. I feel you get a bit more for your money elsewhere.

Great location. Walking distant to lots of things. The Tube is just a few feet from the hotel. The room was tiny. No chairs, no place to put your clothes or suitcases. There was an alcove that would’vbeen a great place for a closet or shelving. Instead there was a 3 foot bunny rabbit. It was clean, safe, and the employees were helpful and considerate.

Great location, very comfortable bed. Special thank you to the two friendly, helpful ladies at check in, we arrived at the hotel before 11am, looking to drop off our bags, and they were actually able to get us into our room extra early, leaving us to freshen up after our flight and free to enjoy our day! Don't leave any valuables in the room. The housekeeper stole from our room!! The staff was very helpful at the time, but I have not heard a word from them after we returned home. The first night; worst bed I've ever slept in. Staff was helpful and let us change rooms. The second room had a better bed. If you have a room in a lower floor, you will hear the trains from the underground. The location is the only good thing about this hotel.

This is only a review on customer service and communication as we didn’t stay at the hotel. Around a week before our stay my partner was taken into hospital, I emailed the hotel on multiple occasions to see if there was any chance of changing the dates or a possible refund but had no response. I contacted Expedia who informed me that they had also tried to contact the hotel without response. However when I first booked the hotel I had enquired about leaving our hand luggage early so we could explore the area without having to carry them, they were very quick to respond and say that we could for a fee of £15 per bag. They eventually got back to me 3 days after we was due to stay. I know that this was a no-refund booking however some communication before we was due to stay would have helped. I would have given the reservation to a family member or friend to have enjoyed rather than throwing the money away. Again this is not a review on the hotel facilities just on the customer service.

This is my 2nd stay here, as the location is perfection. It's a comfortable hip hotel right in the Soho/Leicester Square area. Small, and no real check in desk (not an issue for me) - you walk in and either the person hiding around the wall will check you in, or you just use the self-service computer they provide. Room was on the 2nd floor in the front, and I was initially worried about sound. But they have great sound-proofing, keeping the busy traffic noise to a minimum.

Assembly Leicester Square is in the heart of it all. Located across the street from the Leicester Square Underground exit and right next to a bus stop, you won't need a car to get around London. With so many dining options within a 1-block radius, you can really experience a little bit of everything. The rooms are very small, but modern and well-maintained. The shower only had a combination shampoo/body wash, so make sure to bring conditioner or your own toiletries. No TVs, which was strange, but most likely helped keep the price down to be in such a nice area. Staff was very friendly and expeditious and we had no issues at all during our stay. If I visited London again I would probably keep this as an option, but it wouldn't necessarily be my #1 pick.

Amazing location in Leicester Square and to all the theatre district! Very close to tube stations as well. The hotel was very clean, and very well sound insulated - nice and quiet at night! Check in was a breeze and convenient. Would highly recommend.

This hotel is central to Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden & the tube. It is very safe with room key operated lifts. I had the best time at Assembly. I enjoyed the rooftop bar at night & also enjoyed the breakfast up there as well. The views are stunning.
