Location was perfect. Easy subway connection from JFK and very convenient to move around. View from the room was amazing. Breakfast very good and staff was very friendly. Gym surprisingly well equipped and open 24 hrs. I would definitely stay again.

We were in NYC, so the stay was wonderful. Amazing view from our room. Fridge provided. Tight bathroom and little clothing storage (right, it's NYC). Our TV did not work. There is no lobby, Long elevator waits, but many friendly European guests. Excellent breakfast with gracious staff. Good coffee at 6. Room coffee gets chemical creamer. Two blocks from the F train.

Small but clean, comfortable room with a mini fridge and a safe for valuables. Nice view of the Empire State building. Elevators were busy and slow at times. Offsite "discounted" parking was still expensive ($50/day) and a few blocks away, and they dinged the side of my vehicle pretty bad.

The hotel is in a great location. The room is small but it's fine for a short stay. The elevators were always an issue. A few times it took over 15 minutes to catch an elevator. It's an issue for a building that's over 30 stories tall. Also, the servers at the buffet take the food and even coffee creamers away immediately when breakfast ends. They don't even give a couple of extra minutes for you to finish up. It was a little annoying. The price for this hotel was great for midtown NYC. I would recommend.

Awful! Room was tiny. And it was over 550 per night. It felt like I was staying at a bus depot. I can’t believe how expensive it was. Dirty! And the housekeepers use the passenger elevators with all their gear so it took 10 min to get an elevator. I’ll never stay here again. Ick!!

Ridiculous circuitous route to check in ... if you follow the signs you go behind a wall, through a cafeteria and down a pathway - when all you need to do is turn left when entering. Front desk spent a good 5 mins with a guest talking about his life stories and baseball while I stood there waiting to check in. Got to my room and had to open the window as there was an overwhelming stench of bleach in my room. Only then to find toilet paper in the toilet. Not impressed. I was there one night and only received housekeeping ONCE, completely skipped one day. When I mentioned it to the front desk they spent 5 mins checking their system to see why I didn't receive housekeeping yet never once received an apology or any type of compensation.

Skyline view room is the way to go, with the iconic Empire State Building as the main visual attraction. Housekeeping was on the ball, with everything kept clean and tidy throughout our stay. The variety and quality of the included breakfast was a surprise bonus. Fantastic location. Will definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately experienced a severe case of bed bugs in my room on the 25th floor. I am still recovering from the bites almost two weeks later and may have permanent scars on my face and eyelids. I contacted the hotel to inform them about the issue and to prevent further infestation, but I never heard back from them. It's a shame because I previously enjoyed the convenience and views this hotel offers. I highly recommend avoiding the 25th floor, as the bed bugs can easily travel between rooms.

This is a cute hotel located far away from popular spots in NYC. The front desk and hotel staff was more than accommodating and pleasant. However a few improvements can be made, particularly with the housekeeping. Our room was partially cleaned meaning towels replaced and bed made but half eaten food and empty bottles still left on counter tops, and floors still dirty. The refrigerator never mind worked despite maintenance coming up to fix it. Also, there was a plumbing issue causing us to not have hot water for a day.

We had a beautiful skyline view which was quite impressive. The room was very clean. The only issue was the lack of storage in our room w 2 queen beds. The closet was about 15 inches wide, and there was no dresser w drawers or any wall hooks. The aisles for passage were narrow with no place to put your clothes you are always walking around your suitcase . The bathroom door is a barn door, that is directly at the foot of one of the beds. There is no acoustic privacy because barn doors, while stylish, offer none. The staff was very hospitable and committed to good service. (gold star to them). If you don't mind tight quarters, I would certanily recommend the hotel, despite what my critique may imply. the location is very good.

The room Was tiny but sufficient for 3 (King with sofa bed), and an amazing view from the 25th floor. The location was the best- walking distance to so many central parts of the city and easy transit options.

Rooms were tiny, but everything else was great, great views of all the skyscrapers of manhattan, absolute delight to be surrounded by such mystical buildings touching skies. Staff was courteous, Breakfast was good. Location of the hotel is central. Everything is nearby and the views are cherry on top. I will recommend the city view rooms.

My stay was quite pleasant. Whats most impressive is the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The rooms are well kept and modern, but the bathroom is hobbit size and I question rather or not the bed is king size. The hotel is in a great location and our room actually had a clear view of the Empire State Building. Id recommend this hotel for someone traveling solo but not a couple

Wouldn’t Recommend – Poor Service & Dirty Rooms I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the Hyatt Chelsea, and I feel compelled to warn others before booking. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was cold and unwelcoming. The front desk staff were passive, unhelpful, and borderline rude—not just to me, but to other guests I witnessed being dismissed or brushed off. The room itself was far from clean. Linens looked like they hadn't been changed, the surfaces were grimy, and the bathroom wasn’t up to standard. It didn’t feel like a space that had been thoroughly cleaned—especially concerning given the price point. To make matters worse, housekeeping didn’t show up until after 6 PM, if at all. When they finally did, it was clear they were rushing through the bare minimum. There’s no excuse for that kind of delay or lack of attention to cleanliness in a hotel that claims to be reputable. Amenities? Practically nonexistent. One tiny bottle of water per room for $6 is laughable. No complimentary basics, no hospitality. It honestly felt like they were cutting corners at every turn. This wasn’t a one-off bad moment—it was consistently poor across the board. Between the dirty room, lack of care, and miserable guest service, I wouldn’t recommend the Hyatt Chelsea to anyone. Outstanding hotel teams! Friendly, helpful, every one is with a welcoming smile. I am very impressed by Hyatt Place Chelsea reception, house keeping and restaurant teams! Room is cozy and gets everything you need for a comfortable stay. Tube is just around the corner but you can reach all places of interests on foot. Definitely I’ll stay here when I visit New York again.

Staff was really nice overall. Thank you to the bartender that was on staff around 4pm on the 22nd i don’t remember his name but he was really nice guy and help me with sending a birthday surprise to the room everything was exciting wonderfully. I would definitely stay here again.

One of the managers was really rude. Told us we had to go outside to wait for our ride cause there was too many people in the lobby. A guy from the front desk was supposed to call the transportation company to move up our pick up time the day before. Said he would call and he never called to change the time. The company was also late for pick up. The cleaning staff didn't want to clean our room when requested to clean. They left our room door open when we requested extra towels. We came back from dinner to find our room open.

We stayed at this hotel for three days and had a great experience. The location is excellent — within walking distance to most attractions and very close to the subway. David at the reception provided outstanding service and made sure we got a room on a higher floor, just as we had requested. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and we can warmly recommend this hotel to others.

Great location close to all major attractions. Lovely room and a great view from floor 18. Very nice complimentary breakfast with all you need for a day of sightseeing. Penn station is about 15 minutes walk and very cheap by train to get to the from the main airports.
