I stayed here the week leading up to Thanksgiving 2024. Great location to many of the sites in Chicago. Was able to walk everywhere. The staff were friendly, and always willing to help out or answer any questions. The gym was great, got in a good workout & loved the views. I opted for the breakfast package which was nice being able to get something to eat before going out for the day. The lobby had lots of seating and games/pool table which kept my little one entertained and busy. We would definitely return for another stay here next time back in the Chicago area.

Easy check-in only snafu keycard didn’t work. Our room was a little dirty needs maintenance: broken stained blackout shade; visible dirt scuffs walls/baseboards, bathroom mirror has finish stains. The public spaces nice design. Nice touch giving a goody bag for dogs. The indoor pool great w views of the city.

Love coming here with my 6yo son! The hotel is very vibrant, welcoming and clean. The pool area was very cold and made it very uncomfortable and hard to enjoy.

Pool area is nice but only indoors, fitness room has some great views of the city and the rooms are very retro and modern looking. Lobby is also very retro and aesthetic, many restaurants bars are walkable distance from here.

Shades in room were dirty. Would love a deeper indoor pool, it only goes to to 3 ft 5 inches. Parking could be better. Also put in a maintenance request that was ignored.

We wanted a hotel with a pool and the pool was closed until noon even though they said it opened at 7am. The breakfast was expensive for what seemed like frozen jimmy dean sandwiches! However the theme of the hotel was nice and overall felt clean.

Bed was full of wet pee and had pee stains all over mattress , the smell was horrible in room 1421. On November 21, had to change rooms, and then the people next door were exceptionally loud all night next to room 1411. Security needs to patrol floors to keep hotel customers satisfied. I should absolutely be refunded for room 1421. As I had two rooms booked. It’s only right to reimburse me for this room. Thank you. Will not ever stay here again.

awful stay the room was dirty the bed uncomfortable and pillows first time i have stayed in chicago where i was actually concerned about getting bed bugs it was that worn down not at all like photos and very high traffic of people checking in and out i had them change my room since the first one smelled so bad the second was not much better would NEVER stay here or recommend

The staff were all amazing and welcoming. Upon entering the room, the curtains were stained (looked like water had leaked from the window and left a rusty-tinged stain on the curtains), there were stains on the bedding (like a dirty shoe brushed the bedding), and the floor had crumbs from the previous tenant. The location of the hotel was wonderful, everything we needed was walkable.

- clean and pretty! Staff was friendly and helpful (I had TV problems and they solved it the next day) - Great location! Walking distance to so many good restaurants, the riverwalk, Navy Pier, 360 Tower etc - feel like the rooms looked bigger in photos - sheets barely fit the bed and didn’t stay on well which is really weird and kinda gross for a hotel. We had to adjust them constantly. - towels could be softer. They were rough - I wish they provided a few extra body towels without having to ask (2 people got 2 body towels only). - loved the toiletries provided! Shower items were great and smelled good. My hair loved the shampoo and conditioner.

I felt for the price the room was average I have stayed in better hotels for half the price. I got a city view but it was blocked by a building so I was really staring at one building and I did pay extra for that room to get that experience. When I booked it said I was getting a stand up shower I prefer and I would pay extra for it and got a regular tub. The AC seemed to barely work. Staff were pretty friendly. I did like that it was pretty close to everything I needed within walking distance. It was not a terrible hotel I just don’t think it was worth the price.

The hotels lobby is extremely fun and well kept. However, the rooms were an entirely different experience. The room was dirty and had zero storage. We didn’t even have a chair. Not to mention that housekeeping is not performed daily. The bathroom doors have no locks and the shower has no shelves for toiletries. Overall, I would have preferred a different hotel given the abundance of options in the area.

This was an expensive average hotel. It was conveniently located. Close to almost everything a tourist would want to visit. The room was spacious but the beds were very uncomfortable and made with two flat sheets and a very thin down duvet to cover with. Had I realized I could have brought my own blankets. Overall it wasn’t terrible but it really isn’t a redo.

Check-in was not friendly. Alao got surprised with a $150 deoosit, which after searching a few pages and scrolling waaayyy down to the bottom of the page, there was the deposit policy. This should be more up front, noted with the overall cost. The lady who checked us in had zero personality, did not tell us what room or floor we're on, had to check the key card with our hands full of luggage, did not let us know where the pool, gym or other things are, also zero pamphlets papers in the hotel room to give us a general clue as to where anything is, had to go explore. The tv did not work, which after a long drive and getting here late in the evening, we were wanting to swim, come back to our room to watch some tv before sleeping. Instead, we waited in our room while the maintenence guy tried to fix the tv which he ended up not being able to(he was nice btw) and by the time he was done, it was too late to go to the pool. No vent/fan in bathroom Sliding door for bathroom that doesn't lock, gets stuck on the track, pinch your fingers trying to realign it on the tracks to open so you can get out. Doesn't completely shut so ppl can see about 1/4-1/2 inch USB ports did not work. There may be more I need to add, have only been here 2 hours. We'll see what the night and morning have in store for us.

We checked in, took our bags to the room and left for our day plans. When we returned to change for our dinner plans, the room card reader would not work and the hotel staff could not get it to work for over an hour. Our stuff was locked in our room and we could not access it! We missed our dinner reservations and were not offered a discount on the room even. Will not stay again.

I arrived to go into my room however housekeeping was in there on the phone. Then 30 minutes later after spending the day traveling and the hospital I started to undress & was completely naked & another housekeeping person walked in my room. Then I realized the bed wasn’t even made rite , the sheets were inside out with 2sheets so I had to call the front desk for a blanket which is just awful. 30 mins went by no blanket . I called again and the blanket came 30 mins after that . So it took over an hour to get a blanket I felt humiliated that I was begging for a blanket. I was going to to go swimming but I didn’t even want to take any chance that what else could go wrong . I’ve stayed at this hotel 15 times in 2 years because it’s walking distance from northwestern. I will NEVER EVER COME BACK. !!!

I interacted with everyone at the front desk between 5pm and 12:30 pm. Everyone on staff deserves a raise. The only reason I will be back is because of your customer service. In fact, I found my new hotel.

Everything was phenomenal with our stay. The staff went above and beyond to make our trip to Chicago a special one. I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE looking to visit the area. Looking forward to visiting again one day!

The Aloft team was extremely kind on the phone, in-person, and over email. They elevated an already wonderful location and set of amenities to the next level. During an extremely busy weekend they were well-staffed, attentive, and so helpful at every step. Truly one of the best experiences I’ve had at a hotel stay. The price felt like an absolute steal for what we got. Thank you to the hard working team at Aloft Mag Mile - you guys made our trip!! Definitely check out the pub on the corner too!

Chris at front was great, and a couple others, "kitchen" staff, rude. Valets were nice, but parking was OVERPRICED, breakfast was not good and wayyyyy OVERPRICED. Pool was ice cold and room was tiny. Cool concept but OVERPRICED

Be aware, the staff is amazing, very helpful. The location is the main pull for this property, as the facility itself could use some work. Light fixtures weren't straight, bathroom fixtures were loose and movable, which is not normal. Also be aware, there is no breakfast or room service available. Pets are welcome for a fee. A good stay, but next time, I'll probably stay elsewhere.

We stayed on the 5th floor- nice, loft style room. We were to receive breakfast for 2 daily. Hard pass on that next time!!! We could pick from oatmeal, cinnamon roll and egg bites. They were out of everything. On day 2, there wasn’t even coffee….really bad. Went out to breakfast both days….No upgrade for Bonvoy lifetime silver elite status.

We stayed for three nights. The room and beds were okay, but the shower was really not good. The water was not warm enough, no matter how I tried to turn it warmer. The handle was loose and not in its correct position. No closet for us to hang clothes. Actually this is okay if not for the service for breakfast we received. We ordered breakfast for 2, thinking we would get at lest something like continental breakfast, but we were given very few choices and the service was really awful. I was allergic to cheese so I had to pick croissant instead of a sandwich. I asked for 2 because the price for one was only $2 and a sandwich cost more than $8. I thought even 2 croissant would add up to only $4, which is still less than the cost for a sandwich. But I was denied. When I asked for some jam/jelly, I was denied again at first and was told "we are not supposed to give that to you". Though I did get one, I really felt hurt because I was only asking for the very basics, nothing extra at all. I have stayed in many hotels, both luxurious and basic ones, but had never received this kind of service. Even a very cheap hotel/motel would be happy to offer it to their guests. The hot water for tea was only lukewarm so I had to give up tea and get coffee. This was the very first time that I stayed in Aloft and I really don't think it was a good hotel for me to recommend.

Upon arrival our first room toilet didn't flush. The breakfast was no where was frozen microwavable food that wound up being so hit by the time cooled off. Eventually was hard as a puck. Room pictures online showed a huge room but was tiny near cuisine
