Great hotel in Inverness. Our room was huge and faced the River Ness. It was quiet but close to everything. Staff was very nice and helpful. The piano bar was great and a great place to unwind after a day exploring. Also had a really good meal at the hotel restaurant Contrast for dinner.

We returned to this hotel after taking a 2 day tour of Skye. We booked Deluxe king room & were given Rm 20 in the Windsor Suite building. This was a fantastic room. It was on the ground floor in the front of the building, was very spacious & looked like a bridal suite. Be advised that this hotel & annex does not have an elevator but the staff will assist you with your luggage. This room has a walk in shower only . Be sure to request a tub if that is important to you. The location is beautiful being right across from the river Ness. There are beautiful walking paths all up & down the river. The town is very picturesque with many buildings reflective of the regions history. It is a walkable city with many options for dining & pubs for evening entertainment. The hotel will provide transportation to the airport for an additional fee if you request in advance. This was very helpful. I highly recommend staying at this facility. The staff were friendly, room clean & well priced for the amenities that were provided. The only drawback is there is no refrigerator in the room if that is important to you.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Glenmoriston. Ideal riverside location and very easy 5 minute to the town centre. Cleanliness is of a very high standard. Lovely white fluffy towels. Plentiful hot water. S All staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.. Dining experiences both at breakfast and dinner were first class. Lovely, relaxing,very well stocked bar. We were excited to stay here especially after seeing the website photos and reviews. We arrived about 6pm to a note at reception saying to find someone in the bar to assist. The poor gentleman had to play double/maybe even triple duty as waiter/reception and check in. Our rooms were very small and the entire hotel needed a face lift and some TCL. Our beds were so old the springs could be felt digging into my back. The shower has a water on demand system and the bath gel bottle was in need of a refill. Holes in walls. The tv remote didn’t work and the view from my window was of some courtyard where I watched employees possibly live or at least “changing” clothes in what seemed to be little rooms for them. This was definitely a situation of “looks are deceiving”. Rooms are dark with terrible lighting and while I appreciate lots of these hotel are trying to recover from Covid- this place needs updating. On the positive dinner was delicious and the staff working did their best. And the bathroom by reception had really lovely wallpaper and the view from the restaurant is mind blowing!

When I was putting some of my property away I discovered ladies shoes and clothing in a drawer. I was rushing this morning and forgot to say to reception. Later today I got a message to say I had left said objects behind. I was far from impressed, but saw the funny side, given that Halloween is soon. My friend who knows the owners called the hotel on my behalf to clarify matters.

This apartment did not live up to its description. While it looked like the photographs, it was poorly maintained and not entirely clean. In the bathroom floor was in poor condition and there were beetles. At breakfast, staff had filled my cafetière staff with filtered coffee. There was a power cut for which no apology or even explanation was offered.

Pleasant stay but we checked in at 5pm on a busy Saturday and we were given room 11 -way upstairs at the top of the main building - in a room full of ‘lie ins’. The hotel rooms have varying shower/bath arrangements- room 11 had a bath under a ‘lie in’ with a shower attachment on the taps. You couldn’t stand up in the bath so had to crouch, kneel or sit down in order to achieve a shower in the morning ! Not ideal as I am 60 something with a bad shoulder !!! Phoned reception but no rooms to move to so no choice but to stay in room 11. Moved for the second night into the annex next door to the hotel - room nicer with walk in shower but just felt dated. The breakfast was good quality and staff were pleasant - the situ of the hotel is good for exploring and car parking on site. All in all decent enough but check shower/bath room facilities if you defo want a shower.

I liked the location of the hotel but was VERY disappointed in the room. It was extremely small, we had a top floor room that was basically a converted attic. The ceiling was vaulted and we could not get to the twin beds from one side. I could not stand in 1/3rd of the bedroom as the ceiling was too low. Tiny shower and it took 5 minutes before hot water would arrive in the faucet. Very misleading website pictures of the rooms and I significantly overpaid for this room. Not happy, will not be back. Buyer beware!

Stay in Inverness regularly for business. Usual accommodation was not available so gave this a try. Lovely location on the river. Weather was lovely too and enjoyed a drink outside in the sunshine. After dinner, returned to room to work. Room was OK, a bit dated, bed was very soft (too soft for my liking) with a thick topper on the mattress which did not seem to help. Was woken during the night (I'm a heavy sleeper) due to a terrible banging noise in the room. At 1st I thought someone was knocking on the door but then realised it was the pipes in the room that were making the noise! It wasn't cold in the room and the heating wasn't even on so not sure why it was making such a racket! I made reception staff aware in the morning and by her reaction, I got the impression I was not the 1st person to mention this. Staff themselves were friendly but won't be rushing back unless options in the city are limited.

The location is great and we were very excited upon arrival. We were greeted by friendly staff and the hotel looked seemed very nice. But at bedtime, we were quite disappointed as there was no hot water, luke warm at best, way too cold to shower in comfortably. The beds were quite hard. Worst of all - any time anyone else in the building used any kind of water in their rooms, it sounded like the Jacobite steam train inside our room, and not in the fun way. (Water gurgling and howling inside the pipes). This lasted well into the night and made it quite hard to sleep, and woke us up in the morning. (We are not particularly light sleepers). We stayed in the “Windsor suite” part of the hotel, so we don’t know if guests staying in the main building had the same experience.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was great. Our room overlooked the River which was a nice. We had breakfast and tried the dinner menu, used the bar facilities and happy with all. Staff were friendly on all occasions. Would happily stay here again.

The hotel would probably get higher, the rooms themselves are cosy and nice enough, but if you stay on the ground floor (rooms 1 & 2), the rooms above you can just hear everything. Super loud when people are walking, opening doors/cupboards etc. no chance you can sleep with that noise

Arrived an hour and an half early, knowing checking was not till 3pm. Left bags in the car and went to ask if we could leave car in car park while we went for a walk. Chap in reception snapped at us that we could not check in yet. Asked about leaving car and he said that was ok. Arrived back at 3.30 to a very chaotic checkin. Took 45 mins to get into our room. Many others in same boat all we were asked to wait in the bar to clear the very small reception area. Room was spotlessly clean as was the en-suite. Comfy bed, coffee maker and all the usual equipment. Robes and slippers provided however robes were tiny! En-suite was biggest disappointment. Nowhere to place toiletries while using them. No space to leave anything except floor or toilet seat lid! A cupboard behind a mirror over the sink was useless. Very large door opened over the sink that meant you had to take a step back to avoid getting smacked in the face. So toiletries went on a towel in the floor. Toilet lid was sloped and they rolled off there. Just a poorly designed en-suite. Large shower which was fine. Sink hot water ran for 4 minutes till it became hot and it didn’t stay hot. Didn’t eat here but the food we saw looked amazing. Would not stay here again. Not for us.

The property is very tired looking, the check in was very old fashion with paperwork to fill out and room information was kept in a folder. TV wasn’t working right and the wait staff was very short and rude. They didn’t check on the table and we needed to ask for more water and ketchup. Won’t be going back. The location is ideal for walking downtown.

The location of the Glenmoriston Hotel, is fantastic, lovely view of the river, a very short walk into Inverness and easy access to many places if you are hiring a car. The staff were all very friendly. Our room was serviced each day and water and refreshments replaced. We were very happy to keep our towels and bedding for the duration of our stay. The bed was very comfortable, the only negative I can really comment on is the soundproofing of the rooms, I guess being an older building this would be a big job to address.
