Comfort Inn & Suites Summerset - North Rapid City

It was clean. The breakfast consisted of a waffle iron, cereal, and fruit. The pool was under construction.

An indoor pool and hot tub are advertised but what they don't tell you is the pool isn't heated and the hot tub is a hole in the ground that doesn't look like it's going to be repaired anytime soon.

We had a great rate, the hotel was charming and very quiet and had some great reviews. The bathroom area in our room was sadly neglected. Not clean on the edges. The pool was grimy on the edges and the hot tub was a barely lukewarm tub.

Called and asked if pool and hot tub working 2 days prior. Said yes but not true neither working

Room was clean. Breakfast was great. Hot tub under renovation. And was so looking forward to that after long drive.

Hotel is under construction. Pool is closed. Very heavy paint smell that made us sick. Checked out and went to another hotel

Breakfast was a nice touch with some options and enjoyed the waffles. Liked the healthy options like yogurt and fresh fruit. Overall the place is cute but older. My room smelled a little musty and stale. The hot tub was broken which was disappointing because I was looking forward to it. the attendant said they would fix it but nothing got fixed. Otherwise the staff was nice and pleasant.

The hot tub was ice cold, I was told they checked at 9 am and it was hot, 6 hours later I stuck my foot in and almost had a heart attack, it was frigid. Owner was nice enough to refund my money, and I found lodging and hot tub elsewhere.

A spacious room, a good breakfast with a variety of options, and a nice hot tub and pool facility.

It was nice and clean. Housekeeper was very friendly and did a fantastic job..Kept us supplied with fresh clean towels for our 4day stay. Breakfast was ok normal stuff,toast muffins waffles etc.

The ere was fast food garbage left in our room from previous guests. Long black hair stuck to the bath tub Matt.

This place is bad. Paint chipping from the walls. Lots of dead bugs in the window. Live bugs in the room. Shower curtain rod barely holding on. Pubic hair on the folded washcloth, cold hot tub, not very good breakfast options.... I will not be back.

The staff was excellent and the rooms were very clean! They are nearly done with an extensive remodel, and very well done! We really enjoy staying here, very close to Rapid City.

Staff was extremely rude at check in and barely looked up from their phone. Room was dirty and I found several bugs throughout the room. The sheets had holes and snags. The carpet had stains. The arm chair was filthy. Would never stay here again.

Where do I start?! I told my boyfriend this place was awesome, the people were nice and it was just an all around great place…of course the last time I was there was 11 years ago. First, the lobby/breakfast area stunk sooo bad of paint - you’d think they would be worried about making people sick from paint fumes. Now, on to the room — the bed was horrible…one side basically had a hole dug in it big enough to lay in. The windows look like they hadn’t been washed in years and up in the corner by the window, there were chunks of paint or wood just ready to fall off. The curtains themselves have apparently been there since I stayed 11 years ago. They had, moth holes (?) maybe all over them so you could see dots of light all over the curtain. The room did look like it had been painted but I looked at one of the pictures on the wall and y’all…they. painted. around. it. Who does that?! Apparently they plan on that picture staying there for the next 11 years. THEN let me get to the towels…the towels were so old, they had holes in them and strings hanging loose on the corners. Can’t make this up. I can’t even say that the staff made up for everything else, because they were basically non existent. You mostly didn’t see them, and the ones we did see didn’t speak to us…except one nice housekeeping lady that said hi to us. Also, if you want hot breakfast, you can warm up a microwave breakfast sandwich that are complimentary. Never again…this place had fairly good reviews.

Beds were uncomfortable and wall AC unit did not have a continuous fan option regardless of setting it to 'high'. The AC unit consistantly kept turning off and back on again, which woke me up multiple times throughout the night.

Staff was courteous. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Room was clean, but outdated. Overall a good stay.

10/10, exceeded expectations! My husband and I stayed here lastnight and we had a great experience. The room was spacious, clean, and we both slept well despite the close proximity to the highway: we didn’t hear any road noise as some customers complained about. FYI, there are several unsatisfactory comments bellow ours and let me just say, it seems like the owner has listened to the complaints and has done a good job addressing those to make this hotel better. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we will definitely be staying here again!

This hotel was a bargain for the comfort and breakfast included. Pleasant staff and comfortable clean room. The fan on the ac/ heat doesn’t work on constant run if you want some white noise. This is important here as the hotel is very close to I 90 with constant semi trucks rolling by. Suggest requesting a room on the south side of the hotel to avoid the traffic noise or use silicon earplugs like I resorted to for peaceful sleep.

Room was clean and quiet. Price was really good. The tv was very dated and sound quality was terrible. Otherwise it was fine for a quick night over while traveling.

They had a hard time finding my reservation through this app. Took a while to check in. Couldn’t watch anything on the TV other than ABC without an Amazon Prime account. Tubi appeared to be installed but got some warning and couldn’t use it. The cover on the bed was terribly thin. Not comfortable. Noise from traffic on the highway and loud motorcycles/vehicles seemed amplified. Didn’t get much sleep.

Need a little bit of love, beds uncomfortable, I didn't like the smell of the room, internet connection was poor, needs more breakfast options.

First thing that I didn’t like was the the owner when he checked me in, he asked how I was and I said tired, then he started telling me about how I shouldn’t be tired because he does more than me (A total stranger that doesn’t know me is telling me at 10 pm after a long trip with little kids, the way I should feel? Disrespectful and unprofessional much? ) The blonde lady that overlooks the breakfast (which btw is just coffee and make it yourself waffles. No eggs, no bread, just expired fruit) has a very bad attitude for being in the costumer service industry, and I spent years in the field so I would know.. She also side looks every person having breakfast as she finds each and everyone as an inconvenience, ironically without those people to provide service to, she wouldn’t have a job. Now the other owner and wife of the first guy, is quite nice, friendly, professional and helpful, so is their oldest son who was behind the counter at front desk with her, both of them get a big thank you. Parking is extremely limited and it doesn’t matter you have a room, that does not guarantee you’ll have parking. There’s maybe 1 parking spot for every 20 rooms, who thought that would be a good idea? After certain time all doors except front is closed, not even with room key they’ll open (like at any normal hotel) so when is raining and you have to park all the way behind the hotel or somewhere else because parking lot is full, you have to walk all the way to the front door.

Great staff, friendly desk and breakfast crew who love to talk to customers and make them feel welcome.

Beware. Booked through Expedia.com. On arrival at the motel the front desk said they did not have a reservation for us and that they had been booked all day. No room available. The person at the front desk would not even look at the room confirmation I had from Expedia. Not sure who dropped the ball but I contacted Expedia and a fees reimbursement is in progress. Can't say enough about the lack of concern from the motel staff. Mixups can happen but if I were you I'd think twice about this motel.

It's a comfortable hotel that is close enough to Rapid without the extra cost of 50 to 100 bucks per night extra to actually stay in Rapid. I really enjoy their soft water. Some of the hotels in Rapid have really hard water. I encountered 3 different staff members and all were very friendly and attentive. I've stayed here a few times and will stay here again. Location is very close to a convenience store.

I drove for 8 hours to get there, and the guy checking me in ( found out later he's the owner of the property) couldn't find my reservation . I had a printed itinerary from Expedia and THAT didn't help!!! He said he'd give me a room, then asked for my credit card! He was gonna charge me AGAIN, even after seeing I had proof of payment. Took me an hour to get checked in. I'm tired and just wanted MY room. It took over an hour. Total incompetence.

Some towels were dirty. Check in was terrible. The people ahead of us had their reservation lost so we waited in line for 30 minutes while they got the problem resolved.

Easy access to interstate. Nice clean rooms, very affordable, and very pleasant staff.

This hotel was located in a good area between Rapid City and Deadwood-Sturgis so it was easy to get to both areas.

Greeted by an unsmiling receptionist who ignored our hello greeting .. got our room but key wouldnt work, went back to reception and he reprogrammed key but made no comment and maybe is best suited to another role that isnt customer facing Had 2 hours sleep at best as bed was really hard and lumpy and after travelling long hours its disappointing to get this .. so was looking forward to breakfast at least but this was awful too Nothing hot but a waffle, no toaster, no bread, very poor choice and all we had was a tepid coffee which was awful and a pack of 2 very small muffins which were also awful. There was a double hand basin outside the bathroom in our room which is a bit odd and inconvenient when you really would like all your toiletries in one place. Check out was also a sombre affair with the least interaction they could possibly do The eco friendly score is because using paper cups, plates and plastic utensils is not green just convenient for the hotel .. they should use actual plates, cups and cutlery .. we wont be back

I wouldn’t say the breakfast was a full breakfast. It was disappointing. Package egg sandwich in my book doesn’t qualify as a full breakfast.

I came to Rapid City to visit a friend. I chose this hotel because it looked nice and I had a good price on it. It did not disappoint. The breakfast was fairly basic, but it was just right and had a good variety. I cannot complain. The hotel room is also fairly basic, but it was extremely clean and comfortable. I slept so good there. I’m definitely going to add this to my favorites and come back.

The hotel was pretty average, but the breakfast offered was poor. Make your own waffle was good, but the microwave egg sandwich was lacking. No toaster, bread, English muffin or bagel offered. No flavored creamer for the coffee. Would have been nice to have coffee and water offered in the lobby upon arrival.
