Hyatt Place Durham Southpoint

Love the hotel. The only critique would be to get better lighting for parking lot bc it was poorly lit at night. Will definitely be staying again very soon for sure!

Excellent accommodations. The Hyatt Place Southpoint is now our Place to stay when we visit Durham. Beautiful lobby as you enter the property and the staff was very welcoming and attentive to our needs during the entire stay. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast buffet, complete fitness center, outdoor pool and a cocktail bar available as well. The Hyatt Place Southpoint did not disappoint.

Great hotel with great decor, rooms, and service. My only complaint is that they stated they have EV charging on their website and Expedia listings yet they did not have any notice their EV charging has been gone and under maintenance for weeks.

We really enjoyed the pool, the BBQ outside and the fact that Aldi grocery store is across the street. Staff were great.

This property was not what I expected for amenities or service. Their in house restaurant had nothing in stock to serve guests dinner, instead they had to doordash or walk across the parking lot to go to another restaurant when it's far more convenient to stay in house.. plus more revenue for the hotel, but their bar was fully stocked. The front desk does not communicate well with each other & it's as if it's a game if the restaurant is open or not, during check in we were told not to allow them to tell us it's closed.. yet we were made to believe it was. The pool, something I absolutely wanted to do on my mini vacation first time to NC, was closed for "maintenance" but the front desk agent says that's what they do in the events of a hurricane & that the front desk agent who had no idea it was shut down shouldn't have let two of us guests use it, but mind you, the door to get out to the pool was temporarily exit only. Again, not convenient for the guests to have to get out of the pool & walk all the way around to the front. Rules on the pool such as showering first are also not marked well, & breakfast isn't exactly explained either given it was my first time doing it all. I'm a housekeeper at a local Inn in MA so I know good quality standards when I see it, & I didn't even get the option of robes in the room OR a mini bar.. for the price my mother paid for us to stay, we absolutely expected far better quality than what we got. Bite the bullet & book at the Hilton!

Love the bar and restaurant options. Great restaurants in walking distance. Beautiful pool and grounds. Bed was comfortable and very clean room and hotel. I will.stay again if I.am back in the area. Very friendly and helpful staff.

I did enjoy the peaceful rest at this hotel. However, what I did not particularly care for was the towel I used to dry off after showering. I noticed there was multiple spots of dry blood on the towel. Not very cleanly

The only negative is that there was something sticky all over the bedside table that got all over my phone and hands

While checking in, the rude desk rep was on the phone with another guest...and left me standing, waiting for a good 5 minutes...and did not even bother to apologize, or even flick a smile once afterwards. The trash bins in my room were NOT emptied...one of the bath towels did NOT seem freshly cleaned...and the bed sheets were poorly tucked in. I did report this to another desk rep, and her response was rude as well. Did any of these desk reps get trained on how to greet and address guests?!? They all seemed so unprofessional. Also, the temperature in the rooms took forever to move up or down. I will never return to this location ever again.

Breakfast was hot and delicious. Lots of food choices. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel may have been one of the cleanest I have stayed.

The rooms are always clean, warm, and cozy. The lobby and surrounding areas are always spotless, and the staff is always professional! Five stars!

The only complaint I have was the cleanliness of the room. The pull out sofa had not been cleaned, there were crumbs in it, a fork, and a dirty sheet.

Shower should have a second safety bar. Small refrigerator. No microwave. Ice machines on every other floor.

The beds can use some upgrades. It was stiff and sunken. Towels were very dingy and rough. Afternoon/evening staff was phenomenal. 5 stars for Customer service.

Room was spacious. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Place was clean. Breakfast was good. Location is right off the highway. Hotel is right next to the Aldi grocery store which is very convenient. There is also a coffee shop and burger joint within walking distance.

The complimentary breakfast was hearty (sausage, bacon, eggs grits, fruit, cereal, pancakes, juice) - the works! The hotel was very clean. This appears to be a relatively new and modern hotel. I strongly recommend it.

Coming from a long days drive was welcomed by a very nice and accommodating staff. Had a wonderful dinner next door at Bonefish grill.

The staff were incredibly warm and helpful. I 100% will stay with Hyatt again at this location.

The facility is well kept, pleasant and accessible. The staff is welcoming and professional. The location is close to restaurants and shopping. Front desk clerk, Noel, was especially helpful.

Service was great. LA at the front desk was awesome. Breakfast was very good.

We enjoyed our stay but I left a necklace called the hotel the front desk transferred me to housekeeping I had to leave a voicemail and never heard from them Something like this can ruin the stay

Noel at the front desk was one of the most personable, charming, and professional person I have every met at a hotel, and I have stayed at many around the world. Even when challenges arose, Noel could not have been more poised and kind. Also the engineer also helped with the baby bed and the gym, and was very friendly as well.

Very convenient location.

This hotel is within walking distance to many places! The mall is close and many dining options as well. Clean, and the staff is AMAZING! Highly recommended!

Great location!

This is our 3rd time staying here for my daughter’s UNC soccer camp. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is filling, and staff is friendly. Plus the location next to Southpoint Mall is always a bonus!

Great location with esdy access to highway & major shopping. Very clean, very accommodating staff, & quiet location.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place. It was close to the mall, a quick drive to a nice trail and in the center of all the places we traveled. Staff was very nice and the place was very clean. Really enjoyed

The hotel is close to everything you need: food, attractions, shopping, airport! Highly recommended !

I like the location to the interstate and I was attending a basketball game at UNC and it was a short commute to and from the arena.

Safe area lots of eating options within walking distance. Rooms were clean and quiet, staff helpful.

The hotel & staff were pleasant. However, the food & bar options in the hotel were minimal.

Stayed 3 nights. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was not great. Food was not hot. Staff did not keep up with replenishing food as it ran out so it was difficult to put together a breakfast plate. And how do you run out of forks??

Our room was clean, the bed was comfy and towels were nice and fluffy. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of fresh fruit and egg selections. There was a Bonefish Grill within walking distance which we really liked. We would stay here again.. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars on service was only one elevator worked so the wait was typically long. We ended up taking the stairs most of the time.

Beautiful upgraded king suite. Salt water swim nine at night was such a treat. The shades are modern but a long line at top of bright sunlight perfectly hit my eyes in the morning. Ugh. However…. The best continental breakfast I have ever had at a hotel.
