Our stay was the same as what I indicated on previous screen. One additional observation: The food looked nothing like that shown on Hotels.com. However, the most disappointing part of this booking had to do with Hotels.com directly. When I cancelled and rebooked this stay with a different credit card, Hotels.com still charged me for the cancelled reservation despite the fact that they sent me a confirmation email that the original reservation was cancelled. When I challenged the charge with my credit card company, Hotels.com told the credit card company that the charge was legitimate. Why? Incompetent at best, unethical at worst.

We were upgraded to this hotel, having booked the sister hotel . It's half way up a steep hill so not for the unfit or physically disabled. Having said that, there is a regular shuttle bus (free) into Sorrento. The hotel looks nice from the outside, and the reception area is very large and spacious, and looks to have been fairly recently refurbished. The friendly and helpful reception staff directed us to our room. What a disappointment. It looked like something out of a James Bond 1970s movie. It was very big and spacious with a huge bed but all very dated and dark. It was clean .We had a view of an iron staircase from the terrace outside the window. The bathroom was clean but old fashioned and the shower was good. Wed been upgraded to AI so we went for the evening meal. The dining room was pleasant and the staff were lovely. The food was, ok . Nothing unpleasant but not very inspiring. The bar downstairs was old fashioned, and the entertainment was the sort you were glad when it finished. We met some really nice people to chat with. The pool was upstairs and was nice, there was a bar up there and lunch was served there. Overall it was ok but i don't think we would stay there again.

When we checked in, we were allocated one room which was musty with a double bed and a single bed when we had booked two separate rooms. We eventually were given 2 separate rooms and my friend was changed next day from the musty and healthy bedroom to a different bedroom, but it was not a good welcome. But I was polite and took it in good stead and the lady was helpful in sorting it out. The food for breakfast was very disappointing and unhealthy in today’s standards and considering it was Italy but perhaps a typical requirement for the brick.

This hotel was perfect for a weekend trip. It's a bit outside of Sorrento, so you can either walk 20 minutes to the city center or take a shuttle provided by the hotel. The staff were excellent, and the rooms and pool were wonderful
