They ran out of water while I was there. No water in the jug and no bottles. The pool didn't have the furniture set up. Otherwise the room was nice and clean. I had a wonderful ocean view. The price was very low, so I think ya know, you get what you pay for. It was a basic hotel right by the beach, and right by lots of restaurants. The beach is very nice at that location, minimal seaweed. The food at the beach club is good, especially the breakfast.

The room was more than fine. Mini fridge was cold, air conditioning worked great, beds were ok. Yes the showers are not hot but we were fine with lukewarm. Sure it’s not new but they kept everything super clean and the staff were great. My only big complaint was the lack of cleaning for the pool and the pool area. The pool at the second property was maintained but the smaller pool at the main hotel was not cleaned at all. It also needs new furniture and some loungers. The beach area also could have used some maintenance in terms of garbage and many of the chair cushions are in dire need of replacement. The new kabanas at the second property look amazing and will likely stay there next time. All in all it’s an incredible location with great staff and super affordable.

Staff were friendly. Location was very good. We had water seeping through our ceiling , brought it to the attention of staff , said there was nothing they could do . Beach chairs were in poor condition with torn and tattered cushions. Okay value for the money.

Hotel Ojo de Agua was okay, I didn’t like that there was empty beer cans by the pool area. Some of the bed sheets were dirty and one of the ladies got mad because we asked for some towels. Then we got some towels that were ripped and with holes. Only one small garbage. But other than that the view was very beautiful right on the beach.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at Ojo De Agua, it was far from pleasant. The condition of the hotel left much to be desired. Cracks marred the walls, furniture showed signs of rust, there was a ripped couch in the room. TV did not work. Moreover, the towels & bedsheets had noticeable stains. First time ever seeing the most dingy dirty looking towels falling apart & with an unpleasant smell. The bathroom was plagued with mold and there was untreated water damage that was evident. Water damage in the room as well. From the moment we stepped into the room, it was evident that the hotel was not properly maintained and very outdated. Cracks along the walls. The furniture, which should have provided comfort & functionality, only added to the disappointment. Rust stains adorned the chairs and lamps, detracting from any sense of cleanliness or luxury. Broken desk chair. Perhaps the most concerning aspect was the state of the bathroom. Mold crept along walls, the edges, especially under the sink cabinet creating an unsanitary environment that was both unhygienic and unpleasant. The small run down hotel reception area has a very disgustingly dirty sofa with visible stains all over. Several pool and beach furniture were broken and had filthy dirty stained ripped cushions and mattresses. It was clear that proper cleaning and maintenance were sorely lacking. Overall, my experience at Ojo De Agua was a regrettable one and I do not recommend. Only 8 pictures allowed.

The property needs some TLC, we stayed at room 1306 and had strong sewerage smell that it was hard to sleep in, unless you close the bathroom door and cover the shower drainage. Room itself needed some extra touch ups but we did not care. The bad smell killed everything. Staff not very helpful and /or courteous. We will probably not stay there again.

We had a wonderful time again. Our room was not ready but he gave us another room right beside the pool bottom floor. It was great. Loved sitting on their beautiful beach every day. Room was cleaned every day and AC was nice and cold. The fridge kept our beer nice and cold too. Will be back next season or maybe again sooner. Thank you

The property was clean , and next to the ocean. Very quiet! And within walking distance of everything you need. The workers that I spoke to ended up being super helpful at the hotel and the restaurant. The only issues I had was they only had sheets on the bed no comforter, but no biggie next time I know to bring one, and the remote and TV didn't seem to work but that could of just been a battery issue 😊. I would recommend this property, with or without kids.

The bathroom stink terribly, a lot of humidity, not enough airing. This hostel needs a refresh on a lot of different things (mold, holes in walls, paint...) However it is not that expensive for the location access to the beach club, great to enjoy the sun on the beach. If you are ready to make concessions, then this is a good spot.

First of all, walking down the hallway to our room we started smelling a funky unpleasant smell. Opened the door to our room and it was worse. Instantly felt dirty, upon looking around the curtains had holes and torn out of the tracks. Curtains and the walls had mold and some “patchwork” on the cracks on the walls. We asked for a different room. Second room felt cleaner. TV was like a 27 inch with wires hanging everywhere, just tacky. Never stayed in a hotel without what I call basic amenities. Such as hair dryer, wash clothes, hot water, bar soap, drinking water. Almost every door on cabinets were broke or loose. Pool on property was always shaded and no sun, never got in it for that reason. Attached bar/restaurant had some of the best tacos we had all week. Nachos were good as well. However, since it wasn’t part of hotel you had to pay even for a cup of ice. Best part of the stay was the location. Nice beach area with pretty views. Lounge chairs were adequate. However on our last day we had to pay to use them. We thought that was included. The beach would have been better if they groomed the beaches, primarily for the trash/ debris that washes up. The best thing about the trip was the quaint little town atmosphere. All the little businesses, different choices, different food options and you feel safe. We definitely liked that part. We would go back but just stay at a nicer hotel.

Amazing location right on the beach, with nice small pool overlooking the sands. There are a few sunbeds on the beach to use and bar/restaurant next door. The room was large with 2 double beds, with good wifi and air con. Yes the rooms are looking pretty tired, but we just slept there, so didnt mind. All the staff were really friendly and even let us check in early and leave our bags there while we waited for our transfer.

We are regulars here and will keep coming back. This is not a five-star resort but is very clean and the staff are mucho friendly. The beautiful beach is 100 feet away and the hotel offers chaise lounge chairs for guests. Umbrellas are available. The restaurant next-door, seemingly on the same property, is very agreeable with good food and good prices. There are a ton of other good restaurants in easy walking distance, even for someone like me with a hip and knee replacement! The water isn’t potable and warm showers are hard to come by but everything else here makes up for these things. Ana, David, and Fernando (and the rest of the front end crew) make the check in process very easy.

Please do not stay at this hotel. I got robbed by the hotel personnel. My room was broken into through a card copy that was made by the hotel onsite manager, David Arollos Cisneros. We sought help, thinking it was just a random person who broken in but it wasn’t. David happened to be in the front desk the day we got robbed(our room was right across the front desk)After we left, we see a guy head to our room without hesitating. We then see him leave with our stuff which was all inside a safe from the hotel. While we asked David for help he would completely ignore us. His excuse was that he was trying to contact his bosses but he was contacting the guy who robbed us, as they were working together. We did ask him if any of this had ever happened and he stated there has never been a robbery. However, the police station stated that there had been several robberies at that specific hotel specifically while he was the one in charge. Once we finally got a hold of the hotel managers, assured us that it would be covered under their insurance. She mentioned that she would keep in contact but we have been contacting her every day and no response. She has completely ignored us. We are still very upset of this whole situation given to the fact that it wasn’t a random robbery but planned by the people who welcome you into the hotel. Also to top it off, there are bed bugs in the room. The amenities are not worth the insecurity and unsafe environment this hotel is. DO NOT

Staff very helpful trying to appease visitors in a hotel that is run down and neglected. Like no hot water… we are moved to another room under a water pump which was loud all night. In both cases the staff acquiesced and admitted they knew of the situation and charmingly attended to our request after a bit of cajoling. Though not an esthetic compound, convenient to beach, beach chairs and Don’s beachside restaurant. I suppose more money would warrant better facilities. I would say that this hotel does not warrant 4 stars. A budget hotel at best, a place to crash/sleep. I suppose the expence/rate is in its proximity to the beach. This should be a last resort in the majority of circumstances.

I wanted to share some feedback regarding an incident that occurred on the last day of my stay at the beach club. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience with one of the waitresses, who refused to provide me with a lounge chair. Initially, she informed me that I needed to be a guest, to which I showed her my bracelet. Then, she stated that I needed to spend $1,200. While I had no issue meeting this requirement, as my daily expenses exceeded 2,000 pesos, I felt that her manner toward me and my family was unprofessional. We love Puerto Morelos for its warm hospitality, and this was the first time we encountered such treatment during our visits. I wanted to bring this to your attention, as it did not reflect the welcoming environment we have always experienced in the area. After 3 days of no air-conditioning, we got a new room. 6 requests to management, who stated someone was coming to fix room and 2 calls to Expedia, we got a new room. David gave us an extended time to leave at 3 p.m. on 2/18/2025. However, we had to be out at 1 p.m. Then they would not speak or acknowledge us in lobby as we waited an hour for cab. I got to meet the owner's son. Sergio. I asked him to tell his father that he, the son, needs to let his son run the entire place. The restaurant was well run and had delicious food, having Sergio's eyes on it. Sergio would hold the managers responsible for room checks, and making the hotel safe and inviting for desks. Most of the time there wasn't drinking water in the container in the lobby. Mgrs would not bring out more. A maid brought me some. I tipped her well. I told manager David and Arturo that people take meds-like us-and need water. No response. No guest was ever told when they would fill it up again. Arturo stated once to me on 2nd day that we could buy cups for Ojo's water, or buy our own water at 6, down the street a bit--walking on rocks, through potholes, heat, and aggravation.

I was very disappointed in the front staff. Upon check in we were told we had to pay a tax and only in pesos. The girl at the front told us she didn't have change but would get it to us. We asked later that night and the next morning. Again , no change. The next night we were told by someone else they had no knowledge of that . They then called her and he flat out lied and said she had already given it to us. The manager begrudgingly gave us change. Found several bugs in our beds and no water on the last day. Not sure i'd stay here again.

First time going to Puerto Morelos and Ojo de Agua was perfect! Great location. Fun bar with happy hour next door. Spent 2 days on the beach under the shade of Ojo’s palm trees. Relaxed with a massage next door. Will definitely be back and will stay here again. Hotel was clean and staff was attentive.

Anyone who says this place is any better than a two rating is probably a bot or employee of the hotel. This place was not at all as described. They don't even have phones in the rooms or front desk. I could tell more but it's not worth my time. I took plenty of pictures that show some of the awful conditions. PS. we checked out four days early due to the horrible conditions.

Clean but needs an update, great location close to everything, restaurants are very close walking distance. We just use the room to sleep and enjoyed the beach. Pool needs new paint but it was ok. The restaurant there is expensive comparing to other around the property.

Great location, the best staff. For the price this hotel was spot on. Not a bad room, but not a great room. Small, comfortable bed, everything worked. Food at the beach club was spectacular.

Beach was the best part. The room we got didn’t have a big mirror (only the bathroom one). The beach club was awesome though and had really delicious food.

The location was perfect . We enjoyed having a beach club that we did not have to pay for . We like to make our own drinks in our room and take to the beach chairs provided . Good WiFi . There are many dining options for all budgets. We will return
