Arthouse Hotel

Location is excellent to access Central Park, Columbia University, MET, etc. The staffs are friendly. Breakfast is very simple. Room cleaning is ok.

We stayed here three nights in May. We had reserved the Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed (Broadway View). The room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, it had three chairs to sit on, the bathroom was large (and had a window). We were very satisfied. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and professional. Even the housekeeping staff greeting me every time I walked by them. The lobby is buzzing with activity with a coffee bar and lounge areas. After many trips to NYC staying in Midtown or Lower Manhattan, we opted this time to try out the UWS. So glad we did! The hotel was in a perfect location and we will definitely stay there next time we're back in NYC.

The lobby setup with the street and the cafe is nice. The room size, I guess for Manhattan hotels, are standard, meaning smaller than regular vacation hotels. Towels could be more creative than the plain white, and thicker. Maid service was quick in the morning, so no waiting until later in the day to see that your room is cleaned. Access to restaurants was right there and there was a CVS right across the street. One thing, and it may be just a rarity, or something I could have picked up elsewhere, was bug or bed bug bites. Even saw one bug in my suitcase, miniature in size in my suitcase when I got home, but I can't definitely say that they were coming from the hotel.

Great upper west location. Room was very disappointing. Not even a mini fridge , very weak WiFi and streaming of TV.
