Property was very nice and clean. Breakfast bar was good. Rooms and beds were very comfortable and are well sound proofed. One of the quietest NY hotel stays we have had. Were surprised how early the bar closed at night. No real opportunity for drinks back at the hotel after being out for theatre or late dinner. We stayed in one of the penthouse suites and were a little disappointed with the outside balcony. It was right underneath the air conditioner fans for the building and so wasn’t convenient for sitting outside. Overall a very nice hotel with just a few things that could go better.

Art house was a quaint and cozy boutique hotel in a great location on the upper west side. Walking distance to the Beacon Theatre and many wonderful Resturants and bars. The hotel has a great bar/lounge that doubles as a breakfast cafe in the morning. Live music is played on the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and the one small mistake was quickly rectified and a bottle of wine was sent. There is one elevator that rocked and made a lot of nose that kinda freaked me out. Otherwise. Amazing

A great hotel on the Upper West Side. I have been staying here for the past few years when I come to New York. It’s close to a subway stop, next to 2 restaurants & has a lovely cafe on the first floor. The staff & service are top notch.

Only there for one night - convenient location for an evening at the Beacon Theater and excellent dinner nearby. Compliment morning coffee and pastry were nice. BUT - 2 of 4 elevators weren’t working creating long waits for every ride…unfortunate!!

Great place to stay for easy access to the Beacon Theater. The room was basic, but there’s a nice restaurant next door and a coffee shop downstairs that was great for a quick bite. This is a very clean hotel with friendly staff. Would return.

Beautiful view of the river from the balcony, sleek interior design. Fun and stylish bar/ restaurant / lobby area. Bellhops were very friendly and helpful. Check in went smoothly but I was surprised to realize that the $150 incidentals/deposit was per DAY, not per stay. The room was clean overall but there were sticky handprints (visible to the eye) all over the bathroom door and one of the pillows smelled like dirty hair. Only got half a roll of toilet paper for two days. Bed was super comfortable though. One of the elevators shook to a frightening degree every time so hopefully they fix that. I would probably stay here again, hopefully after elevators have been repaired.

The room was a decent size for a NY hotel, but didn't look at all like the picture. Also there was construction so the window was blocked by scaffolding. Finally, the room was not properly cleaned prior to our arrival. After a couple of attempts to get this resolved this was remedied and the hotel did fairly compensate for that inconvenience. However, I noticed that guests were leaving glassware on the window sill in the hallway. None of this was cleaned up during our three day stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic area, walkable and convenient to the subway, good restaurants and a drug store.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the ArtHouse New York City. The room service was terrible. I found hair on the bedside table and bed when I checked in. I called the room service for help, but no one came to clean it up. I had to do it myself. The room floor was also dirty throughout my six-night stay. On the fifth morning, the water from the taps was brown and dirty. I couldn't shower that morning. The complimentary breakfast was also a major letdown. I only tried it on the first morning. The only options were a single croissant and a weak cup of coffee. I was very unhappy with my entire stay at this hotel. I will never stay here again and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The location and lobby are great. The room was typically small, typical for the area. The furnishings were clean and in good condition, but you’d think they were sorta kinda designed for a kindergarten classroom. I was also afraid the shower door was going to detach from the wall, it didn’t. I’d still go back. the staff were great, and the lobby was a fun spot to start and end your day.

The property is nice, but I encounter three issues: 1. We flew in from California so we are bound to sleep in late. So being situated by the elevators, the noises were really loud around 8-10am. I wish I could have a room that is further away from the elevator. 2. Similar to issue 1, the wall is very thin, I can hear the neighbor in the morning, and the he evening. 3. I was told that coffee was served till 3pm, but it was incorrect, coffee was only served till 11am on Saturdays.

The entire building is in a bag. Instructions posted at front desk say to keep blinds closed Monday to Friday. This made the room dark and uninviting. May as well have had no windows. Room for two came with one Kuerig pod of coffee every day of our six night stay.

Hotel is definitely dated. Lobby bar and lounge are cute but that’s about it. Rooms are very, very dated and dusty and the value relative to what I paid was not there. Elevators super slow (think waiting over 10 minutes every time), bathrooms have cheap fabric shower curtains, ikea grade furniture in the bedroom. None of it was good enough for an over $500 a night. Granted I visited during climate week so assuming the regular rate is 20% of that. If that’s the case, then yes, book for budget value *not* for a nice stay.

Overall would recommend staying at the Arthouse! We loved the door holders and men who took care of our luggage needs. Rooms were clean. Beds were very comfortable. Cafe and bar downstairs was wonderful. Only issue is that there was some miscommunication at the front desk. We asked for linen to be changed. They confirmed they would but it never happened. We were also told that we could do a late checkout by the front desk. Around 12 we went to checkout and they said our party was already checked out. Those issues were not big enough to not recommend this hotel. Overall was great.

Front desk staff super unfriendly. I tried to check in early, which I appreciate can’t always be accommodated, however front desk staff just said nothing available. Showed no interest about my stay, didn’t ask my name, didn’t offer for me to wait in the Lounge, absolutely disgraceful! What has happened to customer service?!? The bar staff were super friendly, and really made up for the poor service at front desk. Cleaners were friendly and accommodating too. Room was nice a d big, but antiquated no desk or chair, AC was very loud to the point it was difficult to sleep. Overall, it’s an ok hotel at best, especially given the price, I expected more. The front desk service was incredibly poor!

Perfect visit. Got there at 10am for a 4pm checking. Thought we would drop bags and hit the museum and check in later. Gentleman at the desk had us hild up and got us in the room right away. Made the day to be able to cleanup after the drive and relax for a few before starting our visit. Asked for a minifridge and they had one delivered in 5 minutes. Easy access to the park and local venues. Parking across the street. Highly recomended!

Location was the best part about this hotel. Room was large, but nothing special. Shower sputtered when trying to warm up and took several minutes to reach an appropriate temperature. Upon arrival, front desk staff tolerated us at best. Certainly not a warm welcome to NYC when traveling from out of town. Live music and speak easy style bar was lovely after hours.

While the staff were largely very nice, the front desk and manager were less than. They charged my card multiple times with various holds, and then tried to charge my travel companion’s card for the entire stay (supposed to only be charged as a hold for incidentals as she checked in before me). The charge did not go through and at 830 pm the hotel called while we were at dinner without leaving a message. Upon our return to the hotel, we discovered we had been locked out of our hotel room. We went to the front desk to inquire and were told the manager would speak to us shortly. The manager never appeared. After several minutes, we were told what the issue was and I explained that they had charged the wrong credit card. They meekly apologized for the inconvenience, but the experience was very distasteful. I travel about every other month for leisure and have never had an experience like this before. I’ve also never had the experience of the entirety of the bill being charged in the middle of a stay; not sure if that’s a NYC thing as in my experience the bill is typically settled at the time of checkout (if not prepaid). We also did not receive the free breakfast benefit as part of the VIP access, nor did we receive the room we paid for. The experience was unacceptable and needless to say, we will never return.

Property is incredibly well located. It is extremely convenient to have a cafe in the lobby with coffee tea and pastries. CVS pharmacy opposite the hotel. Underground just a 7 min walk. 10 min walk from Central Park.

The location was perfect for us to attend a concert at the Beacon Theatre and also to walk across the park for an exhibit at the Met. The room was comfortable with basic amenities, bathroom a bit small for two but we made it work. We had a deluxe King overlooking Broadway. Amazingly quiet for such a busy location. I might stay again if I’m in that area

Very nice hotel. It’s clean. Maid comes every day even if you don’t leave your room until lunchtime. Friendly staff. Nice bar in the lobby with good cocktails. Pastry and coffee every morning included with your stay. I’ve stayed here twice now.

Love this hotel. Ask for a room that faces the interior courtyard on a high floor if you want to avoid street noise (there is a fire station across the street). The AC is the best on the UWS. Neighborhood is walkable and people at the hotel are friendly. Love to order Serafina and get it delivered to the room. Rooms can be small but those with two queens are larger. I’ll be staying here again in the fall.

The room lacked electrical outlets near the bed for our phones. The ellipticals in the fitness center were grimy. The free breakfast was nice but the coffee was awful (cold - had to return the first cup) and the liquid in the half and half labeled pitcher wasn’t half and half. We generally like the Arthouse, but it was disappointing this time.
