I chose this hotel for its cosy atmosphere and decor, location and in terms of value for money. First impressions weren't great as the landing smelt very unpleasantly of cigarettes. My room was ok, and generally clean but it wasn't as clean as it could be unfortunately. The touch activated lamp on the drawers was extremely dusty which was concerning. And there were quite a few scuffs and wear/tear on walls that I feel could easily be resolved which made a feel a bit neglected and sad. The biggest issue I faced was being able to sleep though because the blind on the velux type window was damaged, and let through a lot of light. The bed was very comfortable though, and the very small ensuite bathroom was spotlessly clean. I appreciated the good quality towels, bathrobe and good quality toiletries in the bathroom. Staff were extremely warm, friendly and welcoming and the garden café downstairs is lovely amenity on site.

Room was lovely, clean enough and had a unusual old style vibe which we appreciated and given an opportunity, we would come back. minorities like a leaking toilet and a broken shower head, which could have been missed by the cleaning team upon inspection wouldn't put us off from coming back. However, old fashioned lock from the 90's, is unacceptable. what guarantee would the owners have that someone who stayed there before, didn't go to Timpson's and duplicate the key? The moment the room keys were handed to me, I felt insecure and didnt feel safe to leave my belongings and go out to enjoy my long weekend in Brighton. As much as we always try to support small independent businesses, until stuff like the above gets ironed out, we will prioritise staying in a big chain hotel where security is being taken more serious and can be sure that previous occupants of the room will not pay a visit in the future and walk out wearing my shoes and jewellery.

It’s very central and ideal if your not a light sleeper as on bus route and opposite a pub, so walking access to all food/drinks. We had ear plugs so got by tbh.

They couldn’t do enough for us, it was brilliantly placed just down from the station and not too far from the front. The cafe was also excellent. We were in one of the higher up the building rooms, so please note there are a few sets of stairs to climb, and they are a bit narrow. We also lost water pressure for a couple of minutes whilst one of us was in the shower. We would definitely stay here again if coming to Brighton. Thank you
