The Tophams Hotel

Staff were superb! From checkin to check out every single person was an absolute pleasure! Only complaint was bed was not comfortable! Felt like two single mattresses pushed together and no support! Impossible to get a good nights sleep.

Property was as advertised and well maintained. However, it is on a noisy street which was made worse by the fact that we had to keep the windows open due to the lack of A/C. The first night the room got up to 27C. When I asked how to turn on the A/C I was informed that it wasn’t enabled because of outside temperatures, despite it being May 1st.

Nice location, nicely decorated. When we arrived we were given a room on the 3rd floor…. That sounds ok, but it’s actually 6 flights of stairs the last flight being closer to a ladder than a set of stairs. The elevator was out of order. We managed, huffing and puffing our way to the room. We mentioned to the staff that the stairs were either going kill us or turn us into athletes. The manager overheard and had us immediately moved to the first floor. Still two flights of stairs, but so much better! We appreciated her stepping in without having to ask. Breakfast was solid. Overall a good stay
