We had a wonderful stay here. The only think that annoyed me that should be mentioned when booking is that parking is NOT provided at the hotel. Overnight parking costs $55 per night. Pretty high prices for the amount you’re already paying to stay at the hotel.

I stayed at Hotel Madeira in Dupont Circle for two nights over the weekend, and my experience was far below expectations. It took over 30 minutes to check in, which is unacceptable. The photos online are misleading and do not accurately represent the rooms. Cleanliness was lacking — the bathrooms were not properly maintained, and the towels were of poor quality. The front desk hostess was completely rude, dismissive, and showed a lack of basic customer service skills during checkout. The valet service also deserves only one star for its inefficiency. We’re obsessed with the Madera! Their service, location and price are amazing! We were surprised that they have an electric kettle! We love tea and for us it’s a must have, however typically it’s hard to find a hot water! They also have a water dispenser on each floor. We had amazing experience with the hotel!

Solid choice for a DuPont Circle hotel. Not much of a lobby or public space, but clean and with a friendly, decent restaurant. Room didn’t have any blackout shades so pretty bright. Overall solid hotel.

The hotel was nice and modern, the biggest issue was the parking, staff may take long to process request. At one point we had to provide a follow up call 30 minutes after waiting for a request, also they mentioned filtered water would be available however the equipment was not working It would have been nice if they st least put a sign stating it was not functioning: provide alternate way to receive water.

The location is wonderful. The rooms are pretty spacious which is nice. AC worked well and that was a lifesaver. There was always someone at the front desk but you cannot get into an elevator to the rooms without a door key. That's a nice layer of security that we appreciated. The only con was that there's no room service from the restaurant which is adjacent to it. You can doordash and such but on site food options would be a great addition. In the meantime make sure you take snacks back with you!

Great stay but not so great room housekeeping. Had to call the front desk every day for little things like a towel or coffee. And once they brought up 3 floor rugs instead of bath towels. Thankfully they do provide a bathrobe which was beautiful and comfortable. Great sized room. Overall not a bad stay. Great front desk staff.

The hotel is in a central and easily accessible location. The outdoor patio is comfortable. The gym was clean and the equipment new. I would recommend the oddly configured room I had, long with the bathroom located some distant from the beds. Also nice central entry area. They should remove a few of the small couches because at night with the lights out I was always hitting my toes. Also, they should always have soap at the bathroom sink. Staff told me every day of my 3 day visit they were out.

As much as we’d paid, the tv system and channel weren’t updated. I would rate that 2/10. The room was lovely tho. The staff was accommodating and it’s in a perfect location.

Great hotel with a great location. Room was very spacious which we loved. Did not have a chance to try the restaurant. Only complaint would be the AC unit, room was very warm and the unit didn't cool it enough. We could have left the balcony open but just too much traffic noise.

This is a great hotel, with a fabulous front desk staff. My two complaints. I was in room 908, and I could hear the elevator beeping nonstop 24 hours a day. And that room is not immediately adjacent to the elevator. Two, there is a per day $30 “Amenities Fee” which isn’t listed anywhere on the pricing. They list the amenities as WiFi, in-room coffee, nice sheets…. Nothing any other hotel would charge extra for…. So add that into your pricing.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my friends, and unfortunately, our experience was marred by some significant issues. Firstly, the air conditioning wasn't consistently cold throughout our stay. It seemed to get colder only on the last day, which was quite puzzling. More disappointingly, the hotel advertised its rooms as soundproof, which was a major factor in our decision to book. We were under the impression that we could enjoy our stay without disturbing others or being disturbed. However, when we were playing games and listening to music, the staff came to complain about the noise. When we pointed out the soundproof claim, they simply dismissed it with a "no sorry," which felt dishonest and frustrating. Given the false advertising, our overall experience was quite unpleasant. While the rooms themselves were nice and spacious, the lack of transparency about the soundproofing and inconsistent AC made our stay subpar. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others based on our experience.

We had a nice stay at Madera. It was easy to walk to the mall, dupont circle, dining, etc. The amenities fee is steep for what it has to offer (not much). The room was clean but the bed was TERRIBLE. The water in the hallway was a nice feature.

If there was a way to give more stars for the service, I would. We had an unexpected event where one of our group was injured. The hotel staff went above and beyond to help us through this difficulty. I've stayed multiple times and each time has been fantastic. My family cannot thank them enough for helping us. It's also a lovely hotel.

The Hotel is a nice space, however, the front desk staff needs training. We had an issue with checking in and Mary told us that she spoke with her Manager and took care of it only to find that she had not. No care and concern for the customer. As a result, we pulled our group out of the Hotel and moved to the nearby Vignette Collection Yours Truly DC Hotel and had a very nice experience for the rest of the week.
The Hotel is a nice space, however, the front desk staff needs training. The cleanliness of the room could have been better. We had an incident where valet hadn’t closed our door all the way and was scary but other than that our stay was enjoyable. Marissa was an absolute delight! She made check in super easy!

We went for our niece’s graduation in May. The room was unusually big, bathroom very modern and bed super comfortable. Sara at the front desk was super helpful and the valet service for the car was excellent. The staff was wonderful

Check in was not smooth, didn’t get explained even the floor our room was on or how to get access to the water and ice, breakfast times if we wanted it nothing. Although he was helpful in telling us where cheaper parking was. The location is excellent and the service from the staff in firefly was lovely but the hotel reception staff seems disinterested or maybe new employees who have not been taught the customer service standards.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel Madera, when we checked in it took an hour and a half passed, check in to get us a room. I had been told when I made my reservation through Expedia that I had a double queen room my confirmation from the hotel Madera claimed it was a king room. I needed a queen room so it took them quite a while to straighten that out but the wait time to be checked into the room was a bit too long. And when it came time to check out and I was charged for the amenities that was when I was told about the amenities. No one informed me at check-in time that they had a wine hour, and also that we were being charged for Internet, because when I signed into Internet, it said it was free. The Hotel is lovely. The area is lovely but I think they need to work a bit better on their reception area. Other than that I would recommend this hotel.

Super comfortable and clean hotel room, prime location, and EXCEPTIONAL customer service from every single staff member we interacted with. Even though we stayed on June 7 and we were crazy busy along with everyone else in the city celebrating World Pride, we really felt taken care of by everyone at the hotel. They weren’t annoyed or sick of ppl yet, and that’s rare these days. And this includes every person who answered our various questions over the phone before our arrival, every front desk person, every valet attendant and bell hop and every staff member at the wonderful Firefly restaurant. I highly recommend and will be booking future stays.

Located two blocks from DuPont Circle, it was a great location. The room was spacious, although our 2nd floor room overlooked a parking lot. Make sure you request a higher floor because I talked another guest who said their room had a great view. Will definitely stay here again but on a higher floor!

Enjoyed our second stay at Hotel Madera. Great location near restaurants, transportation etc. Rooms are large and very accommodating with lots of great furniture, shelves, storage spaces. We valet parked a car and it was easy and quick. We were on an upper floor and room was very quiet. Will stay here again next visit!

From Check-in to Check out, is quick, staff (Karen & Sara) professional, accommodating and personable. Friends and I had dinner at FireFly and it was incredible—we had about six dishes on our table; each and every one was delicious! Our server, Patrick was attentive but not annoying, we enjoyed our meal immensely. Will definitely stay again!

I do wish the restaurant was open longer hours throughout the day so I could sit and work somewhere other my hotel room for long stretches, but they still let you use their outside tables on off hours and there’s enough around the area that it doesn’t impact much. The staff was great and incredibly accommodating. And the location is unbeatable. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would return!

Clean and comfortable room in a cute boutique hotel. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and were pleased with our food. The front desk was very friendly and helpful. Although it was considered after peak Cherry Blossom bloom time we were able to still see most of the trees still in bloom along with many other spring flowers in bloom. This hotel is a short walk from many restaurants as well.

The location is wonderful. The rooms are pretty spacious which is nice. AC worked well and that was a lifesaver. There was always someone at the front desk but you cannot get into an elevator to the rooms without a door key. That's a nice layer of security that we appreciated. The only con was that there's no room service from the restaurant which is adjacent to it. You can doordash and such but on site food options would be a great addition. In the meantime make sure you take snacks back with you!

There is no breakfast at this hotel, the room was clean, although the heat wasn’t working so we had to get a maintenance man to fix it and I put my car in valet in the following morning when I went to go check out the valley man almost crashed my car into someone else’s car

We’ve stayed here 3 times in the past 2 years and our stays have been excellent from the valet service, to the front desk personnel, to the housekeeping and restaurant staff. The location is also excellent with easy walking access to anything one would most likely need. We will definitely be back!
