The hotel was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food and facilities were excellent. The hotel had secure parking and was well located for local amenities and site seeing.

Very nice hotel but no restaurant Monday and Tuesday which is a pain but lots of nice restaurant very close by, parking is not good really and expensive at the hotel, I would score this hotel higher but it very expansive and for these prices it would have to be amazing I don’t think I would stay here unless it was more reasonable, staff are lovely and helpful and the area great Edinburgh is brilliant

The hotel does not considers ramps for luggage. Keep in mind that if you carry heavy luggage you will have to lift them yourself, since also, there is no one in the entrance to help. The hotel does count with an elevator but depending on your room number there can be stairs too to get to it. Again, without ramps!!

This property was in a great location next to the park and main shopping and dining area. A little separated from the busier area, but still walking distance from everything. Check in was easy. Paid £16 for parking. Luckily, we didn’t have any issues finding a parking spot in their busy parking lot in front of their hotel. The room was clean and updated. Only complaint was that the faucet had two different nozzles; very hot or very cold water, nothing in between. Provided waters and traditional Scottish snacks in the room, which was nice. Espresso maker was a plus. Only complaint we had was that we had to take stairs from the elevator to get to our room, which was difficult with our very heavy bags. It was a strange Alice in Wonderland stairs situation. Other than that, it was a great stay!

The hotel itself was nice inside and staff were pleasant. The bedroom was a bit different. The bed was comfortable although the pillows were awful and lumpy. The bathroom was grubby. The shower door was hanging off, the toilet seat was loose. There was marks of some sort all up the wall and door. The view was nice of the castle but the window was thick with black furry mould! Breakfast the next day was fine. A nice selection of continental and fruit and hot food was brought out on request. £10 for parking!

We had a really lovely room and overall a pleasant stay. Housekeeping never came to our room despite leaving the sign on the door that we would like our room cleaned and we were out most of the day. Service in the bar was pretty terrible to be honest, I was the only person waiting and the bartender never acknowledged me for about 20 minutes so I gave up. Breakfast is nice. Location was great. Would probably stay again but the price was very high for what is offered.

Hotel was lovely, rooms are currently undergoing renovations. Stay in a renovated room - they are beautiful. Rooms to be renovated are old and show their age. Our bathroom floor was dirty upon arrival. Housekeeping staff had already left for the day, so the manager cleaned the bath for us. We joked that we had the best dressed housekeeper of all time.

Boiling hot room and only just over 20 degrees outside. No ventilation. Not nice to be in. Obviously housekeeping felt the same as they hadn't bothered to vacuum and generally surfaces were dusty or grubby. Room design leaves a lot to be desired too. Massive room but you can't see the TV from the bed and have to close the door to the tiny bathroom before you can stand at the sink. Only a queen-size bed too - plenty of room for a king. Last time I stayed, their excuse for lack of housekeeping was Covid. Now there is no excuse for charging £500 for two nights without breakfast or parking and offering a hot, less then clean room. F&B: We ate in the hotel one night. Less then two years ago this was a buzzy, pleasant place. Now, lacking in customers and atmosphere. Reason: Very average food - a lot less appealing then on my last visit. Service also haphazard. For breakfast: probably the worst 'Scottish' cooked breakfast I have ever had! Swimming in grease and most items deep-fried, tasteless and inedible. Grubby plates and silverware. Disorganised wait staff who didn't even ask if everything was OK when they took away what was essentially an untouched meal. (They must see it all the time ...) The only reason this hotel can get away with charging such a ridiculous room rate is because of the scarcity of hotel rooms in Edinburgh city centre in the summer. Very sad to see a place like this degenerate in such a short period of time. Never again!

Despite a good breakfast and friendly staff, the hotel was a severe disappointment. Some issues during my six day stay: - my room was not fully cleaned one day (unwashed cups and glasses, dirty towels in the bathroom), on another day my room door was left wide open when I returned in the evening. - exorbitant charges for laundry - two shirts for which I paid seven pounds each were not ironed. - excessive parking charges - 12 pounds per day. - WiFi that was intermittent and had to be logged into repeatedly during the day - hard to make phone calls from within the hotel. - Bottles of water charged for the room after a “complimentary” first day - this on top of exceptionally high room rate of close to 400 pounds per night. Overall, not a good experience, despite the hotel’s good location in relation to Edinburgh sights, theatres, etc. Management should work to resolve the issues noted above.

What a wonderful hotel. It looks better in real life than in the photos. Our room was large, bright with a huge and really comfortable bed. Great pillows and bed linen too. The breakfast is amazing. A true feast and lots of veggie options too. Don't miss out on breakfast. I love a Tunnock's Tea Cake and it's a lovely touch to have these in Reception and the rooms. Location is great and easily walkable to so many places with good retail on the street and it looks over a lovely park. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The property location is great for exploring the city centre by foot or bus. The negative aspects were, for my room, bad plumbing such that we were offered another room, but the lack of soundproofing in the new room meant early morning traffic was very notable.

Lovely hotel with a great location on the park. No air conditioning so it might be hot in the summer. My room was stuffy during the daytime with an outside temperature in the 70s (~24 C). The windows open only a tiny bit. Other rooms with different sun exposure might be cooler.

Bed is too soft. No phone in room. Intermittent WiFi. Poor ergonomics: no luggage rack, toilet paper behind the toilet- should be in front of toilet. Toilet paper falls on the floor. Shower soap bottles fall out of soap holder continuously. Eco friendly is good. Staff is nice. WiFi program has white type on light grey background so impossible to read terms of agreement and very difficult to find the ‘I agree’ button. Should have black type to be able to read. Good location, fan available. Thank you.

the property itself is comprised of 3 edwardian townhomes that have been linked together. Our first night was terrible with a room on the top floor. no curtains, vent pipe from portable air cooler sticking out the bottom of the window. the bed was 2 mattresses of different heights pushed together. We complained and were moved to another room for the rest of our long stay. That room was fine. clean, ventilated with multiple windows and had curtains and shades. The bed was also comfortable. I would suggest asking for a room on the ground or 1st floor and make sure it is renovated.

Very underwhelming for the price. I expected more. Small room, not easy to move around the foot of the bed. Bed too soft, tiny cramped shower room. Two people in the room, so why not two armchairs in the bay window? Loved the Tunnock’s Teacakes, though - nice touch.

Traveling with my father has physical mobility and visual impairment is a challenge. The staff worked hard to support me in planning the correct bedroom & showering facilities going out of their way to ensure close proximity to the lifts and arranging for my room to be close by and arranging the taxi for us.. The staff we encountered were all kind, considerate and respectful towards my 83yr old father and his challenges ensuring all went smoothly. He described our weekend away as the best weekend of his entire life. I can’t thank you all enough for helping me make this trip to Scotland & the Tattoo possible. 💗

The staff at the Bruntsfield hotel were amazing, every request was addressed with exceptional kindness and expediency. I love how walkable the hotel is to some of the city's most popular tourist areas. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Edinburgh.

The hotel staff was incredible. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and helpful. They always had smiles on their faces. A young woman by the name of Allison did wonderful job. Next time I'm in Edinburgh I will staying at this hotel again.

When I went to go and speak to the person to check in, she was abrupt and rude. Whilst I was slightly early, I was told incorrect information and sent on my way. The next day when checking out I checked the information again and was advised I was told incorrect information. As soon as I went into my room after checking in, there was a man in my bathroom. He didn’t tell me why he was in there and then he left my room after smiling at me. I think he was employed because I saw him later in the building, but just felt a little bit strange. I couldn’t get the complimentary coffee machine to work and the fan in the bathroom was on all night which made for a very uncomfortable night sleep however given the reception I had I didn’t want to speak to the team overnight. I stayed there for an exam to try and make things a little less stressful, but that probably didn’t work as well as I wanted it to given the reception received.

Perfect location right beside the meadows. Tons of great restaurants and cafes about 2 minutes walk. Also right on the bus lines to go downtown. Staff was extremely welcoming and kind for the entire stay. Very very highly recommend staying here.

Perfect for a short weekend break with friends. The location is a little out of the action, but it was lovely and quiet with lots of cute cafes in walking distance and the walk to the centre was not too long. Really great hotel with large rooms.

Just along the road from a quiet and arty corner of the city - out of the main tourist bustle but no less beautiful. Two fabulous and historic cinema/picture houses on the doorstep and a whole host of lovely shops and eateries to choose from. Edinburgh centre is just a short walk away - or an even shorter bus ride: the stop is right by the hotel. Easy to get to and from the airport or train stations by bus (or tram/bus combo) but less easy to find a taxi in the centre. Lovely hotel, great breakfast. Less impressed with evening meal, but with so many local restaurants I’d venture out instead.

What a wonderful hotel. It looks better in real life than in the photos. Our room was large, bright with a huge and really comfortable bed. Great pillows and bed linen too. The breakfast is amazing. A true feast and lots of veggie options too. Don't miss out on breakfast. I love a Tunnock's Tea Cake and it's a lovely touch to have these in Reception and the rooms. Location is great and easily walkable to so many places with good retail on the street and it looks over a lovely park. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The restaurant and bar were outstanding! Great food selection. In addition, the area around the hotel offered many different dining choices. It’s only a 45 minute walk from old town. Finally, the area is very quiet at night.

Very nice hotel but no restaurant Monday and Tuesday which is a pain but lots of nice restaurant very close by, parking is not good really and expensive at the hotel, I would score this hotel higher but it very expansive and for these prices it would have to be amazing I don’t think I would stay here unless it was more reasonable, staff are lovely and helpful and the area great Edinburgh is brilliant

Boiling hot room and only just over 20 degrees outside. No ventilation. Not nice to be in. Obviously housekeeping felt the same as they hadn't bothered to vacuum and generally surfaces were dusty or grubby. Room design leaves a lot to be desired too. Massive room but you can't see the TV from the bed and have to close the door to the tiny bathroom before you can stand at the sink. Only a queen-size bed too - plenty of room for a king. Last time I stayed, their excuse for lack of housekeeping was Covid. Now there is no excuse for charging £500 for two nights without breakfast or parking and offering a hot, less then clean room. F&B: We ate in the hotel one night. Less then two years ago this was a buzzy, pleasant place. Now, lacking in customers and atmosphere. Reason: Very average food - a lot less appealing then on my last visit. Service also haphazard. For breakfast: probably the worst 'Scottish' cooked breakfast I have ever had! Swimming in grease and most items deep-fried, tasteless and inedible. Grubby plates and silverware. Disorganised wait staff who didn't even ask if everything was OK when they took away what was essentially an untouched meal. (They must see it all the time ...) The only reason this hotel can get away with charging such a ridiculous room rate is because of the scarcity of hotel rooms in Edinburgh city centre in the summer. Very sad to see a place like this degenerate in such a short period of time. Never again!

I got a big nice room, facilities were fine. All good. Good location, easy to walk to city center and a park just across the street. There was not much soundproofing to street or alleyway. Breakfast was good and nice staff. One morning a big group of guests had emptied everything, and the staff had given up and there were no bread, no cheese, no ham, no yogurt, etc., I had to ask for getting some bread, but that did not happen. I got a good omelet instead.
