I had the club room which was excellent, bed was very comfortable. The gym and pool facilities were excellent, however the pool/sauna/hot tub does get busy. Parking is easy. The breakfast is very good and also ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was also very good. Driving into the city is easy enough once you find the better value carparks. Would stay here again.

Fabulous hotel, in a great location. The bus to and from the city centre is great, every 2 minutes, to the door.... It has Starbuck and a bar in the lobby. Also a gym and pool you can use... The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable 👌 There is a carpark with loads of space so driving wouldn't be a problem. Would 100% stay here again.... happy customer 😆

We can’t say enough good things about the village hotel in Edinburgh. Some tourists may prefer to stay in the old town or new town, however, we loved this location and the amenities it had to offer. The modern gym and pool were amazing amenities to use each day. Air conditioning was amazing in the record high temperatures. And a full buffet breakfast every morning was the cherry on top. One final note we were never more than a 10 pound Uber Dr. from any tourist spot or fringe location.

I enjoyed my stay at the village hotel. I loved the facilities of the pool and gym and although I did not go to the restaurant that was also a great aspect. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cleaned each day and new towels were given. Amazing stay :)

We’ve used the hotel a number of times previously with no issues but the cleanliness of the room on this occasion was disappointing. We did tell reception in the morning and were asked to email the manager. The room was also very warm.

Bed was unbelievably comfortable. Everything you would need in a hotel room was there. Breakfast wasnt so great though. Id add at least some ham and cheese. The floor in my bathroom was not clean after the previous guests which was visible because of a certain stain on the floor.

Stayed for 4 nights. Despite putting the door hanger out "please freshen up my room" everysay, it was not cleaned once. Would have appreciated a change of towels, topping up toilet roll, tea and coffee supplies.

Self service checking did not work due to computer issues so staff had to book me in manually. No room allocated to me on arrival so staff member had to arrange one. View from the window looked into a wall and room was dark. However when requesting a change of rooms this was done with no problem.

Very nice hotel the staff was very professional and friendly breakfast was tasty and the bed was big and comfortable. It was very nice to have our room upgraded for free on arrival. The room was amazing initially until the evening the hotel needs to put some type of sound proofing between the rooms that have the fire doors together because some guests like to say up till 3/4 am laughing and talking extremely loud. Without any consideration for neighbours. Also the aircon wasnt working and room was really hot through the night. Other than that i would happily stay at the hotel again.

Positives are the staff are nice, the gym/pool is great (although not exclusive to guests) and breakfast was good too. Negatives are location and it is noisy at night. If you are a light sleeper then noise from other rooms will wake you. The temperature in the rooms also was a bit difficult to manage. Overall, a positive experience with a nice bar/grill for dining, but a bit more soundproofing would have been welcome!

No refrigerators or microwaves. We arrived we food we had prepared in our previous Airbnb. Sadly it all had to be thrown away as this hotel offers no refrigerators. The room was pretty plain. Electrical outlets are not in convenient locations. The rooms seem slapped together as cheap as possible. This hotel

I have stayed at this hotel twice in the last 12 months, and am never disappointed with the service I get. Staff will go out of their way to sort any problems you might get. And for a small fee you can use the gym and the pool.

I would not recommend this property to anyone who is looking for customer service of any kind or good night sleep. Only thing we enjoyed was access to Starbucks(staff their very kind) and pool. First off, you have to check yourself in on an ipad, the lady behind the desk didn't even greet us. All she did was hand us the machine so we could activate our own key once the machine told us what our room number was going to be. She did not tell us anything about the amenities in the hotel or pool hours. Secondly we also had to serve ourselves in the restaurant, the staff on that day had no clue how to do their job (nobody knew how to issue a refund, lady I gave my order too could not answer a single question about the menu without going to kitchen). The one man behind the bar refused to help me when I first got to the bar to place my order and clearly has issue with women as he took a man's order who approached the bar 2min after me. Third the staff do not smile and when you do ask them a question they honestly look inconvenienced by you. Finally the bed and pillows in our room where the most uncomfortable items we have ever slept on during our 7 day trip to G.B.

It will take some improvement before I stay at the Village Hotel in Edinburgh again. You can tell that the Hotel management needs a lot of improvement as it fails to deliver on many of it's promises. Whilst the rooms were clean and modern enough, there weren't enough towels and the service was extremely poor, particularly in the bar and grill restaurant. It started poorly when we booked a reservation online for the restaurant only to be rudely told when we arrived that the online booking doesn't always work and they had no reservation. They then put us at the back of the restaurant almost as a way to forget about us. It took 25min before they came to take the order with many items not available on the menu. After another 45min, the food arrived and was terrible; bland tastes and meats were cooked dry. They failed to bring all the food on time and even omitted some items with certian dishes. When we requested the items, it was met with a huff as if we were being a nuisance. We were asked to leave the restaurant at 9.30pm because we had young kids, which their alcohol licence prohibited, although they hadn't brought our desserts yet. Absolutely, atrocious service. Avoid the restaurant.

Life guard Tom has amazing people skills. A racial incident took place in the pool on the evening of the my arrival the 18th October but Tom managed this in a diplomatic way. This could have but did not mar my stay with my sister for and on her birthday!

Overall hotel was decent and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Some mix up in the booking and charging of late check out ( complicated by having 3 rooms ). The restaurant/bar service was very slow and there was a long wait each time in ordering food or additional drinks.

Arrived at reception, no staff, all automatic. Found a staff member as needed late check out. Offered until 1pm. As one of us was getting a hospital procedure nearby, asked if could get later check out. Girl checked availability and said 3pm latest which helped. Next morning got knock at door asking when we were checking out and was explained. A while later, another member of staff appeared and said 1pm was latest and had 45 minutes to leave. Why give a time then change at last minute. Hotel had been recommended by hospital because of location and flexibility so very disappointed

Hotel restaurant and Starbucks were wonderful! Room was spacious; fan was provided. Pool/hot tub, refreshing and even had a machine that dried your bathing suite in 8 seconds! Plenty of parking and a gas station across the street. Nothing close by within a walking distance of 30 - 40 minutes, but not a deal breaker.

My boyfriend and I stay in this hotel for a long weekend and honestly can’t find any fault. It’s a convenient location for those visiting the city with a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you right into the heart of the city in less than 20 mins. Clean hotel with pleasant staff. Nice touch of having a Starbucks in the lobby of the hotel to set you up for a day in the city! Would stay again!

The staff were great, so friendly. We also like the easy access to the bus stop and getting downtown. We would have like to see more options for doing our laundry. We would like to see more options for dining as well, as there is not other restaurants close by.

This was a genuinely pleasant stay. The hotel was easily reached from Waverley, with a number of buses taking about 20 minutes to reach the hotel. The welcome in the hotel was friendly and engaging, and the room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed. Checkout was also a dream too. There's a Morrisons about a 2 minute walk from the hotel too. Definitely recommended.

Everything about the stay was good! The breakfast however was terrible. Pastries aren’t fresh, hot food wasn’t nice at all. Scrambled egg was especially bad! No real Scottish selection Ie haggis, black pudding or sliced sausage.

The breakfast was terrible. Poor staff were too overwhelmed to speak with customers, they seemed heavily understaffed. Breakfast foods running out and not promptly replaced. Quality of cooked food mediocre. Plenty of continental items run out and not replaced. Coffee from the bean to cup machines tasted truly awful. I was sat by the coffee machines in a busy area. Unhappy people stood around. I understand it was half term but no excuse for the poor staff numbers. Other staff evidently having a relaxing shift elsewhere such as the front desk, should have been brought in to help during the peaks. Goodness knows how many chefs were on, but clearly not enough to keep up. Poor waiters sweating and running around and apologising left right and centre. Not a good look.
