Century Hotel

Overall a good stay with valet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rental bikes were a fun experience but they are old, squeaky, and hurt your bottom after a while. Breakfast was very basic but filling. Would recommend and would stay again due to location, affordability and amenities.

Nice staff, no elevator for the 2nd floor. Take advantage of the complimentary chairs and umbrellas offered by the hotel.

The lobby was the nicest area of the hotel. The room was smaller than anticipated for 4 guests. The check-in process was easy. As far as breakfast goes, not much was offered — capri suns, coffee, yogurt, bread, sliced cheese, boiled eggs, cereal, and packaged danishes. If you wanted water, there is not a place to dispense water for drinking and you are expected to pay $2 for a water bottle. There is not onsite parking, but there is a public parking lot for $1-2 per hour for parking. They do offer “valet” for $40 (cash only). Perfect walking distance from the beach and restaurants.

The hotel is very nice. Clean. Good location. Pleasant staff. They have complimentary beach towels and chairs. They have breakfast though mostly « to-go » ones. We wish to have fresh food options but this is good enough. Merci Century Hotel!

The restaurant next door was open until late, so it was too noisy. And there is no elevator. The staff was too nice, but I don't recommend it

The location was great, close to the beach and the night life of Ocean Drive. No parking had to work with a parking lot to get over night parking. Great to stay for a few days. Very outdated and can use a lot of upgrading, wall paper was falling off, nicks on the hall and floors in certain areas. Pretty decent price, was okay especially if yours just using it to sleep and be out all day.

The hotel is quaint and quirky. I love that they honored it's history and didn’t over modernize it. But you can tell that the renovations (~2018) were a bit sloppy...things like sockets coming out of the walls, sealance spotty around the window sash, etc. You can hear everything going on in the hall and adjacent rooms. The bathrooms are small and awkward (but likely due to it's age). Breakfast was all prepackaged foods. We stayed as a family of 5 in 2 rooms and they put us across the hall from eachother, which was nice. This is definitely more geared towards young couples, girls trips, etc. and not ADA compliant at all - you have to go up steps to all rooms. The staff was nice. They offer beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, and bikes - which is a great perk. Parking is $40 cash valet with in/out privileges - just ask for your car well in advance because it takes a long time to get it (~30 min). The beach is within walking distance and the location was perfect - close enough to walk to everything of interest, but far enough away that it's quiet and safe. Would definitely stay here again, just be aware if you have special needs or requirements.

Hotel was decently clean. The breakfast was not great honestly kind of sad and depressing no microwave in the room which was a little inconvenient. The first day our room would not unlock with the room key. Every time we tried to enter parking is a little bit ridiculous but the location is great and the staff is very nice.

I recently stayed at Century Hotel and had an incredibly disappointing experience. Upon checking into my first room, I discovered insects in the bed and bathroom. The sight of bugs in both places was absolutely revolting and unacceptable. I immediately requested a room change, hoping for a better experience. To my dismay, the second room was no better. There were insects crawling on the ceiling, adding to the already disturbing situation. It was clear that the hotel has a serious cleanliness issue that they need to address urgently. Despite bringing these issues to the attention of the hotel staff, I received minimal assistance and no apologies for the inconvenience. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I strongly advise against staying at the Century Hotel until they take significant steps to improve their hygiene standards.

Terrible!! Mold in the room !!! Very dirty!!! No Partial view on the restaurant table next door!!! No shower door or curtain!!! Have to move one night earlier! Look for the refund for that night!!! Would never stay again!!!

Pros: Location is amazing, you are right next to the beach on Ocean Drive. Room was decently clean Wifi was not horrendous like I thought it would be. They have 3 networks, a 2.4Ghz, 5Ghz, and a guest network. I was able to remote in to my home computer and get my work done. It was a stable 10-15 Mbps for anyone who cares. Cons: The door to my room was able to open with no key and almost no force. Super concerning. The pictures of the rooms and even the outside of the hotel are definitely misleading. It's a bit run down. I'm by no means a clean freak but the bathroom is honestly a bit nasty. There's grout and mold in bathroom and the toilet looks like its 100 years old, doesn't even flush right. My first 10 minutes in the room, I hopped in the bed which was pretty comfy to be honest and shortly after, I saw a huge worm climbing the wall right by the AC unit LOL. Conclusion: I booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one. If you book this place, please make sure your room lock works because I ended up realizing after my first and only night that I could literally open my door without a key and almost no force at all. Definitely a huge safety concern that I've never seen before. I think the location for the price is the only thing that should bring you here but you get what you pay for in terms of the room/quality. I'd probably not recommend this place to a friend or book here again, but everyone's experience is different. Just thought I would share mine.

When we first arrived, first look was ok from the outside. Strong smell of ambiance perfum when you first get in the lobby. Got in our room to be very disappointed with the condition of it. Pictures advertise nothing like reality. Rust on bathroom tiles, mold on bathroom ceiling, strong smell of perfum as if to mask other unpleasant odors. AC working but unhooked from both corners of it and able to see the outside of the building from the cracks it created. Overall bad experience. Location is good as it is very close to the beach but that's about it.

They had a personal ice maker which had been dirty for a while and they had twice cooked boiled eggs as the protein for breakfast. Beware there was mold in the shower head they towels feel extremely grimy I was afraid they hadn’t been washed also you can hear every single thing that was going on around us, footsteps, noise made, tvs, music, etc. It was literally the perfect location! Just needs better quality everything

Location is fantastic, but there are simple things that need to be maintained here. I understand that this is a basic hotel not looking to renovate, but at least be CLEAN and have friendlier staff. The person who checked us in never smiled or was welcoming, looked like she hated her job. Room towels have holes in them. The housekeepers are the worst. When I arrived, nightstands and tables weren't even wiped - had wet rings from cups. Tissues and other garbage were in corners of room, hair in shower. I understand if they don't want to renovate, but cleanliness should be key even in a run down property. The rooms are run down meaning tiles in bathroom cracked, one sank as if I was going to fall through, quite dangerous - and everything from tables to walls are very very beat up...room photos look decent online but thats not the experience once you get there! Fridge was great, freezer actually was useful whereas usually mini fridge freezers don't freeze anything, so that was a plus as needed ice pack for baby milk. So maybe for just location and simple place to sleep you could give it a whirl, but for an extra $30 a night, you can find something elsewhere that is a world above so rethink when you pick the cheapest hotel.

Stay in Room 111 the door was an issue and lighting in the room. Checked out early

The location and staff were great, the bathroom door was rotted out on the bottom and didn’t close all the way. The shower head and doors were no wiped down and seemed dirty. There was no hot water, the room was dark and had drab color and decor, also two dead bugs dried out on the wall. The bed and pillows seemed new and were extremely comfortable and clean. Great TV with ROKU- just make sure to hold the remote very close to the device or it will seem like it’s not working. The breakfast had a great self-serve Starbucks coffee bar and an odd but nice selection of breakfast items.They had fresh beach towels at the front desk which was very convenient. We were definitely able to make the best of it but will probably try a different place on our next visit. I would however, for the price, will say it’s worth it if you are on a limited budget and just want to get away for a few days.

Our door wouldn't close so you have to use a key to shut it. It was really loud at night

yes the location is great. But after staying there i woulnt book again. the rooms are very small. the bathroom is even smaller. (the shower door and bathroom door will hit each other. Theres about a 1'' gap under the door into the room. we had ants in the shower, and the toilet sits againts the corner so you have no room to sit down properly. Theres no elevators so if you have big or alot of luggage you have to struggle to get it up or down the narrow stairwell. we stayed in room 202 witch faces the shanton. the window levers are broken, so if you open the windows its almost impossible to close them. One window was sealed with napkins (im assuming since the levers were broken and couldnt get the window to close right). over all i would not book again nor reccomend this place.

This could be an incredible hotel but it just isn’t. You can tell they tried to do some remodeling but just didn’t do enough. It’s so run down and needs a lot of tlc. The staff was friendly enough, some a lot more than others. The walls are paper thin and can hear conversations in other rooms/down the hall pretty easily. Cleanliness is questionable but it’s also so run down it’s hard to tell. Amenities are lacking, the resort fee is high. Breakfast was basically hostess cakes and instant oatmeal. Like the title says, this hotel really can only offer location.

Overall, it’s acceptable for a one- or two-night stay, but not recommended for longer visits.

The room was in really bad condition. It overlooked the building next doors’s AC system which I couldn’t decide was a good or bad thing because it would be very loud when it was on and the turn of and on but at least it was drowning out the very loud bar we were RIGHT NEXT TO that would blare music in the wee hours. All the furniture was worn out. The worst part was I made reservations 4 months ago. I think they reserve the worst for second party sites like this one which is unfair. The front desk staff were really nice and genuinely tried to be accommodating which is why I am not giving only 1 star.

The rooms were like jail cells. You could hear the person snoring in the next room. It was terrible.

My trip was cancelled due to a family death. The hotel was compassionate and accommodating. I am incredibly grateful.

Staff was not to friendly, did not offer to help while I was struggling with luggage and valet used back of car trunk to put scooter in which made it dirty, also they took longer than expected to come. There was construction going on outside of our window that we were not made aware of, the door to the room kept getting jammed.

Very friendly and helpful staffs! Arrived an hour early before check in hour and was able to check in! No elevator but that’s fine because there are only two sets of floors. Right across the beach, so easy excess to the the beach! Beach towels were available as well! Bike rental is a plus, $15 for 3 hours! Room and bathroom are small but can’t complain because we were there to do stuff and not stay in the room all day. The bed was comfy and good AC flow in the room! Will consider booking again if we come visit Florida again! Thank you!

Property is very well kept, staff is extremely helpful and polite. Although the property is dated and can use some tlc, it doesn’t detract from it charm and cleanliness. It was odd that one of the rooms we stayed in appeared to have had it’s door kicked in. Perhaps the Spring Breakers from the previous week. Otherwise, very nice place, convenient to beach and eateries.

Great location - walking distance to South Beach. Also had a great happy hour for both food and drinks right across the street. Staff was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed our stay!

Property itself is average but ok. What surprised me was how rude the front desk staff was in particular the African American man. We asked about parking options and he sounded indifferent and disinterested in providing information. Gave me a leaflet and told me to read it. Parking is valet $40 and has to be cash? I am unsure why it has to be cash. Asked also if there was a cot or single mattress for our 12 year old since there was only 1 bed in room for 3 people. Once again he said no and his delivery was rude and unhelpful. He told me some people sleep 3 adults in 1 bed and the hotel does not judge them. The same info delivered in a different way would have been ok but he was outride disinterested and unhelpful in his communications . Based on this I would not recommend this hotel

They were nice and let us check in early. Good stay ended there. Going up the stairs ( no elevator) the railing was ducted taped together very poorly and pulled apart. Tried to use the safe and it set the alarm off asked for help we were given a key to the safe that also set the alarm off. No local channels on the TV it was Sunday wanted to watch football. Got up in the morning to a broken shower faucet and no hot water. After they checked it we were told well it’s almost warm. They did nothing else but offer another room. Not very helpful for a one night stay. Said they couldn’t help with discount or refund because we booked with Travelocity.

Room was clean and had everything we needed to stay overnight after our cruise. The property is as advertised so we didn’t expect a 4-5⭐️ hotel room. What I liked best was value for money (the stay included breakfast & luggage storage), convenience (walkable to areas we wanted to explore) & staff was very friendly & approachable. Just wanted to appreciate Calderon who was at the front desk when we checked in. Thank you so much for all your help!

We found the Century to be afordable and quaint No Frills . The staff were amazing and there were plenty of shops and restaurants that were an easy walk. Beach access was across the street.

Great historic spot but quieter than those farther up the beach. Loved being able to borrow beach chairs and other items! Valet was comparably priced for the area and along with the trolley took away the headache of parking.

The Century Hotel is in a wonderful location, 1 block from the beach and away from the crowds that tend to be somewhat boisterous in South Beach.

It was an amazing strategic place to stay. Close to the beach and restaurants as well as very low noise level area.

Room is older and you can hear every person who walks down the hallway. It was clean, the bathroom great, and they have done maintenance to the room. Staff was amazing and knowledgable. Breakfast was highly disappointing. Juice was literally carpi suns.

We are very happy with our stay here :) Good breakfast and a big plus that you can borrow beachtowels, chairs and umberella :) We will be back :)
