The team was incredibly kind and helpful for all of my travel needs, from arranging car transportation to recommendations for places to eat. The restaurant, Luca's, was incredible. This is a must stop if you want fine dining and excellent service. I asked for some wine pairings for the meal as well and was so delighted with the complimentary selection. The lounge and bar area, I wish I could have stayed hours in, and the bartender, Falco, created a custom gin cocktail for me that is one of the best drinks I've had in my travels, and Mac served up an amazing Prosecco when I arrived. The rooms were 5 star lux and you are just a street away from all the amazing shopping and the incredible sights of the area. Give them gem a shot if you can.

We had a beautiful stay at this boutique hotel! It is well located, walking distance to luxury shopping and sights. Linens and towels were very fine quality, which we love and is hard to find these days. The decor and details within the room were wonderful, truly well designed and executed. The spa was just perfect, small but with everything one needs! Beds and shower were great, and the public spaces in the hotel were well designed and just beautiful. I was very happy here and would recommend to the most discerning travel, its staff were top notch as well, very proper. Thanks for making our stay in Florence amazing!

Hotel La Gemma is one of THE best hotels we have ever stayed at. The warmth of everyone who worked there was amazing, including the owners. The drinks delightedly refreshing and delish. Don't forget to ask about the stories behind them. Beds super comfortable and great for afternoon naps to get away from the heat. We might fly back to Florence just to stay here again. Can't wait to stay at other hotels from the Cecchi family!

Ambience and service was absolutely spectacular. Seriously they go above and beyond and their location in Florence is nearby shopping stores, and we thought it was pretty central to everything. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10. Drinks were a 10 out of 10. Truly, everything was beautiful.

Hotel La Gemma was a GEM ! It is located perfectly in the city center of Florence, staffed with smiling friendly people, and has spotless gorgeously appointed rooms. The restaurant serves delicious food in a city loaded with great places to eat. There is no doubt, if in Florence again, my wife and I will be staying at La Gemma!

Location was perfect. While the main rooms on the property are nicely done, the guest rooms are run down: wall sconces were falling out of the walls, garbage pail was broken, the walls had scuff marks and peeling paint and dirt, the carpet in our room was very dirty, the hallways are carpeted and a terrible smell of mildew emanated from them. We appreciated the free refill of the mini bar, although this was not done each day of our stay. Hotel staff was inattentive and while polite, didn’t do much to ensure we had a fabulous or memorable stay. We requested an extra luggage stand twice and never got one, we just gave up. Disappointing overall as the rates are very expensive. Might be rated five star but definitely not five star accommodations and service. We will not be recommending or returning the next time we are in Florence.

During my recent trip to Florence, I had the pleasure of staying at an exceptional 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel had only been operating for about 5-6 months, but it felt like it had been there for years. The staff was extremely accommodating and responded promptly to any requests I had. The interior designer had done an impeccable job decorating the common areas and rooms. I had the opportunity to stay in both the "superior" room and the suite, both of which were decorated with excellent taste.

Absolutely stunning property! This is truly an amazing place to stay; it is extremely modern and beautiful, the rooms are jaw-dropping (especially the green marble bathrooms) and the hotel, from top to bottom, looks as if it’s straight out a magazine. The à la carte breakfast was delicious and served to perfection. Well worth the money spent to enjoy a beautiful stay here. We will definitely be returning and recommending this hotel to our family and friends! Note: The house manager Gian Luca was extremely friendly and welcoming and ultimately made our stay unforgettable

This was our fourth and final time staying at this hotel. Front desk staff was not helpful (almost rude)and it would have been nice to get some kind of recognition for our loyalty. All high end hotels are proud to say that their guests are loyal. Not La Gemma.Our room was tiny and extremely noisy . Still a very well maintained hotel in an excellent location.

What a find. Hotel La Gemma just opened in May 2023 and we are so glad to have found it. It’s located in the heart of the city. Minutes to all the major attractions - the Duomo, The Uffizi - and lots of the major piazzas. The decor is so cool - shades of green and gold with flowers and parrots with a summery art deco vibe. We got upgraded to a suite and the room was amazing. Separate living room room, bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. All soft drinks in the mini bar are free and the coffee machine in the room is better than coffee you get out on the street. Oh, and a free breakfast too! Omelets and pastries, meats and local cheeses. Previously on this trip we stayed at Il Pellicano and Borge San Felice, and I would say Hotel La Gemma felt in tune with those. We were thrilled to happen upon such a phenomenal place to stay on a quiet street in the center of Florence during high season. We will def be coming back!

We had a two room suite and it was lovely. Our son was thrilled to have his own king size bed and bathroom. The location was in the nicest shopping district. We were there during one of the hottest weeks this summer. The a/c was not the coolest of all the hotels we stayed in but we requested two fans and couldn’t be happier.

The hotel was centrally located near Republic Plaza. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Room was very nice. Asked for a quiet room away from elevators which they handled for us. Staff was very attentive. Breakfast was sit down and order which was a nice change from other self serve that we experienced. Overall a nice hotel

We had the most amazing stay at hotel La Gemma. The staff is exceptional, the rooms/esthetics are perfect, + delicious food (especially their chocolate loaf cakes❤️). We can't wait to come back again. Highly recommend!

La Gemma is a beautiful property. The entire staff was professional, friendly, courteous and extremely helpful whether it was for transportation or restaurant recommendations or just directions. Breakfast is amazing and the staff top notch. The location is perfect for every adventure you are planning in Florence. I will definitely plan on staying here again next time in Florence.

While the main rooms on the property are nicely done, the guest rooms are run down: wall sconces were falling out of the walls, garbage pail was broken, the walls had scuff marks and peeling paint and dirt, the carpet in our room was very dirty, the hallways are carpeted and a terrible smell of mildew emanated from them. We appreciated the free refill of the mini bar, although this was not done each day of our stay. Hotel staff was inattentive and while polite, didn’t do much to ensure we had a fabulous or memorable stay. We requested an extra luggage stand twice and never got one, we just gave up. Disappointing overall as the rates are very expensive. Might be rated five star but definitely not five star accommodations and service. We will not be recommending or returning the next time we are in Florence.

Du jamais vu. On a prepayé une chambre Deluxe à 750€ dans un hôtel et on reçoit un message la veille pour nous prévenir qu’on nous a changé d’hôtel suite à un problème technique. On a dû passer la nuit dans un autre hôtel. Une chambre Deluxe a 420€ !!! L’hôtel est moche, moins bien placé. L’autre avait une terrasse ext pour déjeuner…. Wow, this review is a really hard one for me… as much as I would love to say, how amazing this property is… I felt the service was lacking. When I arrived at the hotel the bellman greeted us, & took our bags… but no one was at the front desk. Which was extremely odd, for such a high end hotel. We wait for entirely too long for someone to get back to the front desk for us. There is beautiful bar to the right of the front desk, with no one there. If there would have at least been a bartender there, or if the bellmen would have given us a glass of wine, water, & or the WiFi code it wouldn’t have been so bad. My room however, was amazing, & even more beautiful than in the photos! The hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace, with spectacular view of the city. We were pretty much alone up there. The welcome drinks, & Expedia VIP hotel bottle of Champagne was great! Plenty of shopping & restaurants outside the hotel as well! Breakfast was great! The bartender upstairs at the other bar was fantastic, & so friendly! Leaving the hotel we had to wait for an iron that never came, & longer than expected for a taxi. Once again a service issue! If they fix the service at this hotel, this property easily is a 10 out of 10!

is the property beautiful? yes. Is the staff accommodating enough to warrant the price of a stay? Absolutely not. Will staff be there to welcome you upon arrival and perhaps help get your luggage thru the door? Nope. Will they watch from behind the counter as you struggle? Yep. Will the very nice bartender recommend you a restaurant only for you have the front desk tell you no they can't help make you a reservation because they know that restaurant is all booked? Yes. Will you then call that same restaurant yourself and secure a reservation no problem? Again, yes. Can you find better service elsewhere at a fraction of the cost? Almost certainly yes. But hey I'm sure your Instagram pics will be cool.

The hotel is beautiful. We checked in early to find out we had been assigned 302 across from the elevator which according to the map of the floor as the noisiest and the smallest room. We asked to be moved and the desk said they would “try”. Sorely disappointed.

Wow what a stay! Expertly designed, curated, and comfortable. Hotel La Gemma is in the heart of Florence but still tucked on. quiet side street to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city. Would immediately stay again.

The hotel was centrally located near Republic Plaza. Was able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Room was very nice. Asked for a quiet room away from elevators which they handled for us. The team was incredibly kind and helpful for all of my travel needs, from arranging car transportation to recommendations for places to eat. The restaurant, Luca's, was incredible. This is a must stop if you want fine dining and excellent service. I asked for some wine pairings for the meal as well and was so delighted with the complimentary selection. The lounge and bar area, I wish I could have stayed hours in, and the bartender, Falco, created a custom gin cocktail for me that is one of the best drinks I've had in my travels, and Mac served up an amazing Prosecco when I arrived. The rooms were 5 star lux and you are just a street away from all the amazing shopping and the incredible sights of the area. Give them gem a shot if you can.

La Gemma was one of our most memorable hotel stays ever. Everyone was very welcoming and the hotel was inquisitively stunning. The individualized service was exceptional, friendly, and the hotel accommodations were beautiful. The bar and breakfast menus were divine.

We had an extraordinarily wonderful time at La Gemma. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable. The bed was comfortable. Ambience and service was absolutely spectacular. Seriously they go above and beyond and their location in Florence is nearby shopping stores, and we thought it was pretty central to everything. Breakfast was a 10 out of 10. Drinks were a 10 out of 10. Truly, everything was beautiful.

Good location, room was pretty beat up and next to elevator which we heard all night long as it wrapped next to our bedroom walls. Loud music permeated from street most of night which could be heard from room. Front desk friendly however Luca restaurant personnel were rude. Laundry was expensive - $200+ for a few shirts and trousers.
