This was a very modern and comfortable room however it is very much let down by poor organisation. We had paid for breakfast and when we went to the restaurant, we were told it was full and would have to wait 30 minutes for a table. We were given the option to order it as a take away and sit on a table "outside" the restaurant, although pretty much is the same area. Our food was therefore served in paper take out boxes which I don't expect for the price we paid for the hotel. The pool is great but don't bother going if you aren't an influencer as it's taken over by people who have booked to go to the pool to take photos. No kids are allowed except a tiny window of time in the morning which is crazy. Staff very generally unhelpful. Minor point but don't try and go anywhere in a rush as the lifts are a joke and you spend around 5-10 minutes waiting for one, the queues were crazy. On the plus side, the views from the bar and restaurant areas are incredible and the food in the evening was brilliant. The location is great but for the price I just don't think you are getting a good service all round.

The smoke/fire alarm went off multiple times between 6 am and 10:30 am (5 times+). Each time, a long-winded announcement followed where they said they were investigating. Followed by another announcement that it was a false alarm. I booked the hotel to rest after a night out in the city. However, it would have been easier to rest on a bench in Moynihan Station. I will not be staying here again.

Tv didn’t work, then shower head didn’t work, then coffeemaker didn’t work, we didn’t get coffee a couple days, , elevator had problems…kept passing up our floor, the work out room was ok but a treadmill needed fixing …no recumbent bike. Was told my massage was a special for $99 n got charged $130 …turns out there was no special…massage was good but steam room not steamy

Location was great but the hotel hosted a party Saturday evening with loud noise until 3am. I don’t think that is fair to guests who were not informed that they would be unable to sleep and enjoy their accommodations for one night. In addition, there was a separate “destination” charge per night that wasn’t revealed to me by my third party booking. There were long waits in the lobby most times if the day and they never answer the phone. Use of their rooftop pool required reservations and a minimum food/drink fee (except for Sat morning from 8-11am) I would not stay here again and cannot recommend to anyone who wants a responsive and respectful staff and hotel noise policies.

The room was dirty. I moved the sliding door, and it must not have been moved in a very long time. There was dirt in the corner of the bathroom as well. The pool was closed the entire time we were there. We called the front desk, and they said it was open and when we went, it said closed and the doors were locked. I left something behind, and they found it. I sent them a label Saturday night to send it back to me. I had to call several times Monday and Tuesday before they finally shipped it out on Wednesday. Every time I called, no one knew what I was talking about. Online stated Valet parking for $50. I was charged $75. I have paid the same amount at lesser star hotels and had a much better experience. The food at the hotel was less than mediocre, and we were forced to pay gratuity when we took it to go and didn't get served. I will never stay at this hotel.

The room has potential, but unfortunately I don’t think anyone had completely serviced my room for quite some time. There were mystery stains all over the couch that no one would be able to overlook. I’m young enough that I can usually figure out TVs/tech in general, but this one was straight up disconnected. I didn’t bother calling anyone and just watched TV on my laptop. Also, the time on the clocks were an hour off, indicating no one had changed them for daylights savings a few weeks ago. A small, but telling detail.

Nice, new building and great layout of hotel room (rather spacious for NY) and a great gym. Also our room had a fantastic view of Empire State Building. However, there are definitely some issues to work on: - Very noisy A/C in the room (why? building is brand new..) - Found our room not properly cleaned - Toilet paper holder fell off the wall - Very loud music in the outdoor terrace/restaurant over the weekend (couldn't sleep until after 1 AM..) - We asked for cleaning and fixing the toilet paper holder and had to remind the reception twice before it was finally fixed. - Our door was left open by hotel staff, after being in our room.. unacceptable, and they did offer us a 75 USD food credit as compensation - Asked for an extra duvet - nothing happened - and we had to remind them again. When we finally got an extra, house keeping removed it the day after and the show started over. - Staff located near the elevators not very welcoming, just standing there looking at their phone. Hotel building and facilities are nice, but seems a renewed focus on customer service is needed. Not sure we will be back..

I checked in and left my bags in the room. I was running late to meet a friend. By the time I got back at 1030p I jumped in the shower and went to get in bed. As I always do I pulled back the covers to make sure the sheets were clean and there wasn’t anything gross in the bed. I’m sure glad I did! What I found were two small bugs (not sure if they were bed bugs), something white and plastic looking, and a bunch of pines. Yes pubes! I was so grossed out I pack my things and went down to the lobby. I showed the front desk a video of what my sheets looked like and waited for a new room. I would have left the hotel completely but by this time I was after 11p and I had my flight early the next day. After waiting for over 15 mins, I was given a new room. It wasn’t upgraded. I wasn’t offered a discount on my stay. I was simply given the same type of room I had previously booked and told they would “waive the $40 resort fee”. They also said they would give me a $75 hotel voucher for food. I let her know that I was leaving early the next morning and would not be eating at the hotel. I asked instead for $75 to be taken off the room fee. She said she couldn’t do it. Why? What’s the difference? Well I check my credit card statement today and they charged the fee anyway! This hotel is foul. I’d never stay here again. I was coming from an extended stay at the Thompson Central Park and that hotel was phenomenal! Service was amazing, rooms were beautiful and service perfect!

I felt the room I was given was not very clean. I found things on the floor that should have been cleaned up. Fingerprints on surfaces showed me it was not wiped down. The robe had trash in the pockets indicating it had not been washed. I notified the front desk after night 1 and they did replace my linens as requested but they did not remove the robe. Just gave me a new one. I do like this hotel. Great location. Great amenities. Great view. Great breakfast. Just disappointed in the cleanliness of my room.

An incredible stay at the Virgin NYC. We had the sky Chamber empire view on the 29th. It’s was incredible. Best view. Sunrise every morning. Room was super spacious with a seperate dressing and shower room. Views from the roof were insane and the west view for sunset is great. Riff Raff Bar is fun late night. Hotel staff were attentive and always happy. Couldn’t recommend enough. Great value for the price. I searched over 30 hotels for this trip. Didn’t regret at all.

Location of this hotel is great, with walking distance to most. BUT it is NOT a 5 star hotel (far from it), at absolute best is it a 4 star hotel, there is nothing luxurious about it and in our room the toilet seat was loss and the showers was leaking. The room was super small, but we are in Manhattan so it is kind of expected but again not in a 5 star hotel. In general we like Virgin Hotels but this one wasn’t good.

Had to change rooms several times . First room the air conditioning wasn't working. Then hotel tried to put us in a smaller room with less views. So moved into a room on a lower floor and the cold water tap stopped working and had to get it fixed twice.The fridge door handle was broken. Some of the desk staff were good, others rude. Loved the view and size of the room, shame about the other stuff.

Great location and check-in staff. Room was not tidied during our 3 night stay - perhaps I had to request this? 2 coffee machines didnt work, 3rd one did, but no coffee on the first morning - very important for me. Seems a strange thing, but we only got cold water in the morning. Evenings the water in shower and sink was scalding hot no matter which tap we used.

Room was next to a building site that started at 5am every morning. Roof top bar across the street meant you could hear bass in the room until they stopped. Also dispose of garbage between 1am - 3.30am and it’s loud. Not sure if it was just our room but the building captures noise and vibrations clearly so you can’t even escape it wearing ear plugs. Service in the restaurant was terrible unfortunately. Room service was also terrible. Had to wait 45 minutes just for them to deliver a tea spoon so we could feed the baby. Promised so much with a free upgrade on arrival, which we really appreciated, but we left extremely disappointed and had a stay that offered us no rest across each of the days we were there.

Management absent and customer service lacking The check-in experience with Darnelle was a highlight, his charm, professionalism, and engaging demeanor made for a warm and memorable welcome. Julio the bell boy who helped us with our luggage is a sweetheart. Unfortunately, the subsequent interactions with the front desk and ‘Yes’ customer service line lacked the refinement and knowledge expected from a four-or five-star hotel. One particular staff member exhibited a dismissive and short-tempered attitude when addressing a simple request, even going so far as to roll her eyes at the mention of a colleague. It was unprofessional and inappropriate especially in front of guests. Housekeeping standards are poor; the basics get done but that’s where it ends. It appears that no quality control measures are in place to ensure rooms are acceptable. Upon arrival, we discovered a room unfinished,, such as only one gown, no slippers, no glassware, no coffee mugs or cups, and an insufficient number of towels. Additionally, empty wine glasses were neither removed, cleaned nor replaced, further underscoring the lack of attention to detail. We’re here for nine nights - it’s gets wearing. N.B. The housekeeping are very sweet and friendly and do work hard but have been poorly trained and supervised. Despite signage instructing guests to wait to be seated, we ventured to the third floor, where no staff member made an effort to greet us. He just waltzed not an issue in itself, but telling of

Virgin is the Best Service allways. But if you are lucky and have Daniel in the Check in you will find a friend. One of the best experiences in hotels, I arrived so tired and not in the best humor and Daniel make me laugh and have all perfect.

Staff did not greet with a smile, terrible check in process, no visible concierge. While was room was nice, the digital lighting was horrible. Pressing all kinds of buttons and the lights would still not cooperate. Virgin is normally my choice for airlines and cruises but this hotel is not like the other virgin properties. I will not be back.

It was in a nice area. The service was pretty bad for us. Some of the receptionists up front make you feel like you’re a nuisance when checking in. We had a bigger person with glasses be rude and sassy to us trying to check us in and when we asked questions about the security deposit. But afterwards we had another receptionist and she was very kind and respectful. The rooms itself are pretty much as advertised, but again some of the front desk staff need to be re-trained on basic respect and hospitality.

I like the Flatiron location - walking distance to Penn Station, restaurants and shopping. Room was very nice but I didn’t like the pillows. I prefer down pillows that give when you put your head on them. These pillows were too fluffy so my neck couldn’t lie straight. Also the Wi-Fi connection was awful & spotty. I would think twice about staying there again because I couldn’t maintain a connection on my computer.

Everdine staff are not all on the same page as to how things work. There was some small issue with our breakfast vouchers one day (not a big deal), the next we were told that we could not get coffee and juice and that it was one or the other and another day we were told there was added charges for requesting cheese in the scrambled eggs. 3 different staff. Also, don’t hold your breath for refills. They won’t exactly offer except for the water. Over all the Everdine service was lukewarm at best. The rest of the hotel staff was warm and welcoming!

As a frequent traveler I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world. While the staff was generally friendly, the room great, in-room dining was horrible. Do yourself a favor, eat out! The dinner I ordered was barely edible. I ordered breakfast the next day thinking how badly can they screw up eggs. Well, they delivered breakfast with no utensils. With three calls to request delivery of utensils I found myself eating with my fingers. Unacceptable. When I complained to the manager she ensured the charges were removed AND gave me a credit for future dining. When I used that credit towards breakfast (a breakfast that turned into lunch because of a long wait for a table) I was still charged, no credit, despite mentioning the credit to hostess and waiter. When I called to dispute the charge after checking out I was given some story that I had already used the credit toward a $50 dining charge, which never happened. What $50 charge? After being placed on hold the woman on the phone said she would call me back, at which point I said forget it. Keep the money! What a waste of so much time. An otherwise good stay made frustrating by room service.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. The only thing that wasn’t great was there was nowhere to get breakfast in the hotel, since we were there for business, it was an inconvenience to have to leave the hotel to find a place to eat every morning.
