Easy check in procedure using a kiosk, with staff to guide you through the process and getting amenities in the lobby. Clean room with great shower pressure and hot water. Breakfast has lots of good selections including Kyoto style miso soup, lots of vegetarian options, breads and pastries, fruit, salad and hot dishes that change daily (eg gyoza, eggs, fried prawns, sausages, bacon, salmon, pork cutlet etc). Perfect location 1 block away from Kyoto Station - you can walk there in less than 3 minutes.

The washer&dryer didn’t even dry our clothes. Knowing this the second time I have experienced at another hotel; I should have known. Luckily there was a laundromat close by. If you are a newcomer like me, don’t try to dry your load at the hotel and take it to a proper drying facility. However, overall, I enjoyed our stay. Room was spacious and like that you can select the amenities that caters to your needs. Really quick walking access to the Kyoto station and convenience store for a quick grab and go.

Check-in could be made with a QR code, without assistance of the staff. Amenity was available at the lobby. The building was new and the room was clean. A/C works perfectly. There was an air purifier with humidifier which worked quietly. Breakfast was amazing with lots of dishes.

It was a hotel, I don’t ever have high expectations. But it had air conditioning and a shower. That was great. I did try and wash my clothes once but it was always busy. But there was a couple laundry mats close by so not an issue.

早餐很精緻且好吃，每天會換菜色，日式西式都有選擇不算少。飯店一樓有洗衣機、微波爐、自助取用冰塊機，也設有吸菸房，雖然一次只能兩個人進去，但對京都市區到處禁菸來說方便很多。另外隔壁就是便利商店，到京都車站走路也只需要五分鐘，要吃什麼都很方便，到任何景點都算是很方便的地點，只是房間還是有點小，兩個28吋行李箱無法同時打開有點不方便

So the area is great really close to the station, easy to catch the bus and JR lines. The room is modern, and can actually open suitcases in it. But the washroom starts smelling like wet and foul after a day so not as modern and feel like you’re in a submarine. Do what you will with that but overall convenient especially after traveling with luggage.

When we initially checked-in, the greeter was rushing us and had no patience. But generally all the other staff were very friendly and nice. When we got to our hotel room, it was very late at night so we just wanted to sleep even though we found a few hairs on the bed. In the morning, we noticed hairball over the bed …and I can guarantee it was not mine! The sheets were clearly not changed. My friend went to take a shower and found pubic hair on the towel and that’s when we went to complain. They were nice enough to switch our rooms but when we went to the new room, we checked the beds and there again was hair on the sheets. I’m appalled the reviews were rated 4 star because this was the worst hotel we stayed in. We immediately checked out and found a new hotel. Don’t stay here!!!

環境和衛浴都是很乾淨的，每天請房務人員打掃也都是很整潔乾淨的!!住宿體驗非常的好，隔音也覺得很棒，前台人員也是很親切，備品可以自行取用真的很方便，還有一些可以燙髮的器具檯燈等等的物品，有驚豔到~也是下次旅遊會選擇的地方!!

Sauberes, kleines Zimmer. In der Lobby können Gesichtsmasken, Sonnencreme, … für den täglichen Bedarf mitgenommen werden. Das Fenster ist leider mit einer Folie abgeklebt und man sieht nicht raus. Die Lage ist super. Bushaltestellen fast vor der Tür und nur 5 min vom Bahnhof entfernt.

This hotel is rather strange in space design. Firstly all the rooms apparently have windows facing brick wall of the building next to it, effectively as good as without windowns. Secondly the room I stayed is not really easy to navigate with little space between objects. The outwardly open toilet door making worse. While I am happy with the friendly and helpful counter staff and the very good location, it will not be enough to attract me back. S as nd finally Hotel.com chose to display rather misleading image of the room, giving the impression that the room is reasonably spacious.

Convenient, quiet, and clean for family of four with adjoining room 2 minutes walking distance to Kyoto Station, Don Quixote, lots of restaurants, and shops. Compact but adequate space to fit 2 full size suitcases, 2 carryons, backpacks, and more. Bathrooms are tiny but you get used to it in Japan. No complaints. Would return!

From our room, there was a lot of noise from the street and other neighbouring units (we could hear muffled conversations on the street even with the window closed and being a few storeys above ground; while we could hear footsteps from other units). We also thought it was a bit inconvenient that there were no USB ports available in the room. Also, we couldn't figure out how to control the fan in the bathroom. Front desk staff were extremely friendly and would greet us whenever we entered the lobby. They also temporarily stored our luggage as we had arrived at the hotel earlier than the check-in time. Amenities are available in the lobby, which included facial cleanser, facial moisturizer, sun block, facial mask, toothbrush/paste, tea bags, instant coffee packets, hair brush, cotton pads and swabs. For rental, there were curling irons available. Also in the lobby, are some maps of key points of interest in Kyoto. Housekeeping would provide a fresh set of towels everyday, left in a tote bag at the room door, which was a nice amenity but didn't seem necessary. The hotel was less than 5 minutes away from Kyoto Station and beside the Avanti mall for convenient transportation and shopping. Overall, we would stay at Sotetsu Fresa Inn in Kyoto Hachijoguchi again.

About a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station where the shinkansen is located. This hotel was fairly great for me. There's a Don Quijote across the street, pharmacy, Lawson and 711. The staff were all super friendly and when we got a language barrier they had a neat gizmo to help translate.

Good access to train station (10 min walk) and variety of bus routes. Convenience store (Lawson) right outside the hotel. Good sized shopping mall (Kyoto Avanti) just a traffic light away, which has many shops to do your shopping (Don Quijote, GU). Quiet area even though it's right next to Kyoto station.

The hotel is right next to the Kyoto station with 5 min walk. Close to the metro and can get to anywhere from the hotel with ease. Travelled to Nara one morning and it was very easy. A lot of restaurants and things to see within walking distances. Great location and good stay

The hotel was ok, just dont stay on the second floor since you will feel like you are sleeping in a kitchen, a frying fish smell was not pleasant. They changed me to a higher floor, and it was inconvenient to pack and unpack. Staff was really helpful and nice Breakfast was not worth it. They did not even have expresso machine. Microwave in the common area was old and you need like 5 minutes to heat simething but other than that all was good

It is right next to Kyoto station. Problems: coffee machine broke and they served instant coffee —terrible. Avoid the all-in-one laundry machines —your clothes will never dry. The rooms are stark white.

One of the best things about staying at this hotel is the breakfast buffet, which is prepared with the Kyoto spirit and lots of love and care. They have a weekly menu, meaning they change what they serve every day. A variety of flavorful selections of Japanese/Kyoto cuisine fill not just your stomach but your heart. The front desk staff were also welcoming and hospitable. The room was not huge but clean, and their comfortably firm mattress guarantees a good night's sleep. I already booked this hotel for my next trip to Kyoto that's happening in a couple of weeks. Oh yes, the super easy access to Kyoto Station is a huge plus, and you'll find an abundance of charming restaurants in the neighborhood. In short, I fell in love with Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kyoto Hachijoguchi.
