Staff was amazing and so helpful. Starbucks was down the corner. Gym was so clean and nice. They provided water. They had a second floor where you can just watch tv and relax and some games. Rooms were so nice and different in a good way.

We did not use the gym during our stay. Starbucks being connected to the hotel was definitely a plus. The restaurant was closed while we were there due to renovations, however, there were many restaurants in the area within walking distance.

This property is uniquely ultra modern, has plenty of plug in and is a minimalists dream. Coffee pot in closet with water with the appropriate cream, sugar and stir sticks. The Korean Restaurant and Starbucks on site were very convenient and the gym and lounge area on the 2nd floor, were nice. The TV is only what you can cast from your phone and I did not locate bending macines on site. There is a Safeway and a very good donut shop a 3 minute walk. Close to everything downtown.

The hotel was clean and the staff was attentive. The one complaint I have is that the charging stations in the garage are not well-policed (people park in the stalls for hours beyond their charging time). But the parking garage is managed by another company. So while they do have vehicle charging in the garage, it's a bit of rolling the dice on whether you can actually get in to charge you car.

Modern rooms in a nice location in Portland right by PSU and the art museum. Friendly staff. Too bad the parking is 45 a night - most hotels give the people who are staying there a discount or waive the fee. Hard to believe a 4 star hotel doesn't!

This stylish hotel has an excellent staff and is in a great location. They also have EV chargers in the parking garage - a convenient accommodation. The Hotel Vance is on my short list for every time I come to Portland.

There were stains on the wall where the zoom in mirror hangs. When the housekeeper made my bed, the sheets were not changed. I could still see dirt on the sheets. Checking in was awkward af since the concierge was right at the door.

I had stayed at this hotel eight months ago and really enjoyed the bartenders, bar and restaurant. Unfortunately, that is no longer an option as they have closed the bar and restaurant. The front desk employees were very friendly! The lobby looked well-maintained as well as the outside of the property and I love having the Starbucks right next-door! Other than the restaurant and bar being currently closed, the other disappointing thing was my toilet had left over urine on the seat when I arrived, as well as one of my hand towels had three spots of blood on it. I would stay here again, but those things dressed.

Good stay overall, I would encourage better cleaning. A towel was dirty and had hairs on it and the shower had hairs too. Also we waited for an elevator to leave for about 20 minutes, they have 3 and only 1 was working and it was during check out so it was super busy and a lot of people and cleaning ladies waiting to get on the elevator. But overall it was a good experience my family and i love staying here.

This hotel is peaceful and quiet. Our room was spacious and very clean. It seems pretty new so everything worked well and was orderly. The neighborhood is also quiet and easily accessible with short walks to streetcar stops. We would definitely stay here again. It was a good value and a nice place!

Great, helpful staff. Rooms are large but sparse. 2 queen beds but only one suitcase stand. In order to use the full length mirror on back of closet door had to stand with back to window in a very tight space. For a room that could serve 4 people absolutely no space in bathroom for toiletries. Virtually a dark cave with bad lighting.

The lighting was dim at night and the controls for them frequently felt like a small trek to reach. Microwaves are also requestable from the front desk and is not a staple for each room. The rooms lack furniture and feel unfurnished. Also, because of this, the room suffers from a lot of echoes and amplifies the noise from outside. Combined that with traffic noise, the light rail and construction, don’t expect a good night’s sleep.

It was fine, just a little odd. It felt like we were in a locker room or renovated warehouse in the room, due to the metal locker and all the concrete. Also it was incredibly difficult to see inside the "locker" to make coffee, because all lighting was in other corners (no overhead). We also had to bend awkwardly to make the coffee, and we had to use our phone flashlight to see what we were doing. The bed was mostly comfortable, despite me not preferring an uneven pillowtop.

Nice, convenient hotel except: 15 watt lights in room made it impossible to read at night, strange shower with only half screen meant lots of water on the floor and use of towels to mop it up every evening. Otherwise a nice hotel in a great neighborhood. And good coffee in the rooms.

Our stay was good- the location of the hotel was great, the room was modern and didnt have a carpet which I loved! Even though our room was close to the elevator, it was really quiet. The only thing I wouldnt give 5 stars for was the shower- the glass wall was somewhat small and didnt fully prevent water from splashing on the floor. The shower head was also not my favourite. Lack of fan made the bathroom really humid. It didnt affect our stay, just something I wanted to mention in case there will be some plans for improvements.

This is a very modern hotel, colorful walls, with unpainted cement ceilings. The bathroom has no exhaust fan so it steams up, and has no space around the sink to place your toiletries. The only mirror in the bedroom is in the closet, with no light.

We love the fun whimsical decor and cleanliness as well as the location. But the absolute best part were the front desk employees who welcomed us warmly and assisted with all our questions. They truly helped make our stay special.

This is our second time here and we will return again. The staff upon entering were kind and asked about our reason for visiting. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and he upgraded our room. The room was very comfortable. The bed was soft and we slept great. We love how quiet the rooms are and the added security things that made us feel secure. We love the location of this hotel for visiting the market on Saturdays and for a nice walk down to Powells.

I found the front desk staff rude and not welcoming. Our room didn’t get cleaned up to 4 pm then I would have to ask the front desk if we could get the room cleaned. They would give me such an attitude about it. I would let them know we left the proper form 9-4 pm we expected the room to get cleaned. One day I had to track the cleaning staff and beg them to clean the room. We found a finger nail on the floor as we had just arrived. Which means they didn’t even clean properly after checkout.The would not vacuum the room. They made the bed and changed the towels.

TERRIBLE HORRIBLE there was NO STAFF on duty at all in the hotel over the night. I had a late check in and there was no one to open the door or check me in. I called for 3 hours trying to reach anybody at the hotel, I called Expedia through whom I’d booked the hotel. Then was trapped in an endless cycle of AI Chatbot that could not do anything - mind you I was still parked out in front of the hotel trying desperately to get a place to sleep.at 4am in the morning. Meanwhile guests who were also staying at this hotel could not get into the hotel, because their keys were not working and there was no one at the hotel at all who could assist them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT BOOK YOUR STAY AT THIS HOTEL. My experience was abysmal. Also, EXPEDIA was worthless, did not refund my money and would not rebook me at another property as they also kept calling the Hotel Vance and no one answered but the Expedia “policy” is that I had to check in by midnight. And they could not do anything even though the hotel had no one there to check me in and I had arrived at 11.45. Expedia and Hotel Bance should be avoided at all costs. Do not trust your travel or money to Expedia. You also could easily be a scammed and your money not refunded and and not have a place to sleep or a seat on your flight.

The staff was amazing, with one exception, the lady who checked us in and seemed less than welcoming. The next day, we asked her about transit and she told us to look on our phones. I grew up in Calgary, a tourist town, and no one here would ever deflect a tourist back to their own devices. It wasn't busy, so it wasn't a "line up/time" issue. However, Meegan was wonderful. She recommended Umbra Coffee two blocks away, which was a hit, and she was more than happy to tell us about the area when we asked. Very welcoming with a great vibe about her. As well, a young Black man working the desk (Andrew?) was super approachable and joked with us as we came and went. He, too, had a lovely, welcoming vibe about him. The room was clean and comforable with a nice view of a treed park. The air conditioning was perfect as it was 41C out the days we were there, so we could recharge in our room as a little haven between activities. My daughter enjoyed the work out room although she found it crowded around 7:30 a.m. the morning we checked out. We walked to Powell's City of Books (twice!) easily, and also to restaurants, transit (which took us to the wonderful Oregon Zoo) and to Pioneer Courthouse Square for a concert. It was also easy to walk to the waterfront, which we did several times. I highly recommend this hotel.

Stay was okay. However, my car got a flat tire in the parking garage of the hotel and when I went upstairs to ask front desk for some help I received nothing. It was frustrating especially since I wasn’t from the area let alone the country. I waited in the lobby for about 2.5 hours for the tow truck and not a single person checked up on me or asked if I need any assistance.

Room was comfortable with a view of the city. Eclectic design with contemporary furnishings. Comfortable beds, but could use an extra blanket. Starbucks adjoining, was great. Free street parking after 7pm was nice, otherwise, $3.00/hr. with a 2 hour max from 8AM-7PM. Close to freeways and centrally located makes it easy to get around.

Clean & quiet. Stayed for a night away from home, and it was great. Good location along Broadway, easy to walk to our activities in the West End. The hotel feels a little like using the self-checkout at the grocery store, as there is not a proper lobby and just a little desk in the building's lobby. This was not an issue for us, as we were just looking for a room. Would recommend staying here. So many people are down on downtown Portland these days, so we need to get the word out that it's still a great place to visit and nothing like things were back in 2021 or even 2022.

We did not use the gym during our stay. Starbucks being connected to the hotel was definitely a plus. The restaurant was closed while we were there due to renovations, however, there were many restaurants in the area within walking distance.

Interior Design of Hotel overall very hip and fun, however it could use update on paint and I'm personally not a fan of the white fluorescent bulbs. A warmer light selection will make the place feel fast more comfortable. The Starbucks in the lobby is incredibly convenient, even when you want to support local.

The stay was wonderful overall. Thank you. We might have enjoyed it more if we had not found other people’s hair in the bathroom and a dirty shower. At the restaurant the wait person stared at us, did not really respond. Unusual. The food is terrible. It was a waste of money and we wish we had found another spot.

The room was clean and the bathrooms are huge. The rooms are SO dark, though. Very minimalist with cement ceilings and no significant lighting. The staff brought us a microwave which was great to heat up leftovers.
