It was a convenient stay midway to Key West. But the pool furniture is old and chaises are without cushions. The chaise material stretched causing it very uncomfortably.

Rip off $ 22 “resort fee” demanded at check in despite prepaid booking on Expedia. This motel is not a resort. Cockroaches in our room, lounge chairs by pool are all dirty and torn, only nice thing is pool which looks clean.

This little hotel is the perfect stop off point if you’re driving through the keys. Fun restaurant and shops right there at the hotel as well. Pool was very clean and relaxing. Staff super friendly and helpful.

We stayed a few days at Sunset Inn and loved it! The rooms were clean, cute, and had everything we needed. We spent time relaxing in the pool, and the convenience of parking right outside the room was a huge plus. It’s also in a great spot—easy walk to some awesome local restaurants and spots around town. Would definitely stay again!

A great, small refurbished old motel. Rooms have a front door and a back door which opens onto an excellent pool area. A/C was a bit noisy however am sure it takes a real beating given the hot summers. Staff were extremely nice and helpful and provided excellent advice. If we could ding it there aren’t any laundry facilities which is a slight downside plus the rooms would benefit from their own microwave as there is only one for the entire property. We did however notice a pile of boxes containing the latter aforementioned appliances in a back room off reception so it’s likely these would be “deployed” in future. Would definitely stay there again.

Lady at check in was really lovely. Another lady on reception was on the phone to family/friends both times we went in - felt like we were interrupting. Room was fine, clean but rough around the the edges. There was a broken tile in the bathroom (massive corner piece missing) which is a bit of a risk factor. Pool looked nice but didn’t use it. Liked the classic motel vibe but massively overpriced for what it is. Probably would look at other options if ever returned to the area, we didn’t realise it was spring break when we booked so assume this affected the price.

We reserved a king bed then got 2 full bed without any warning or apology. We eventually switched to a 2 queen room that was very noisy. The room looked good, but look was all it have. The heat would set off the smoke detector and the shower water was very very small.

For the most part it was fine. The room was clean and the property was generally quiet. But it is an older property and the a/c is very loud. It also doesn't work all that well, in that everything in the room felt just a little bit damp. They need to upgrade the rooms.

Very spacious room with huge, comfortable bed. We were in Room 4 at the front of the property, so could hear noise from the busy highway outside. Swimming pool didn't appear to be heated, but is of a good size.

Negative things...refrigerator wouldn't keep things cold, we added ice to it and treated it like a cooler; the air conditioner was set on 61 the entire time and the room didn't get below 74, lastly at different times there wasn't any hot water (3pm) for showers and sink didn't get but lukewarm. On the positive side, the beds and pillows were super comfortable, and the staff was extremely nice. For the price we paid, I expected it to be a little nicer.

My room was very clean and huge, and the heated pool was great after a long day on the road! My only issue was with the traffic as it’s next to a very busy road, so I barely got some sleep, but other than that it’s a great location and other guests didn’t seem too bothered by the noise so maybe it’s just me!

Place was clean, and the coffee station was great, but that's where the greatness ends. The rooms don't have microwaves, and the showers are set up so you have to step in to turn them on, and then they spray water all over the bathroom, because there's no covering on the back side. Also, for some reason, the lamps were unplugged when I arrived. Overall, it works, and the price is very competitive fof the Keys, so it was "good enough."

Great experience overall. Very clean. Smelled great. AC worked great, although quite loud. Walls are thin, you can hear the people next door and if you are staying next to highway you can sometimes hear loud cars / emergency vehicles. I wore earplugs so these noises didn't bother me much. I will definitely stay again

Fantastic stay. Very nice room, very big and perfectly clean. The pool was fantastic. All there looks nice, new. Very friendly staff - I forgot something in the hotel, after the call they kept it for me 2 days (on my return trip from Key West). I would stay here again - this is much better hotel than hotels in Key West with a higher price there - next time I would stay here with only a day-trip to KW.

They are not flexible with check out time. Check out is at 11 am and not one minute more. Things happen but they don’t understand that and they are rude about it. Also cleanliness in the room could improve. Bathroom borders were either very dirty or I don’t know if it was mold. I would not go back.

have stayed here before, and we could do the paperwork upon arrival if we were early, then come back when the room was ready. This time, the attendant did not want to bother with that. Not sure why not??

Location is midway from Miami to Key West. Great stop over point. Very large and clean rooms. Spent a day riding hotel bikes to nearby dead end street beaches, breweries, marinas, and The Loralei for dinner, live music, and drinks. Had a wonderful time and the Sunset Inn made our stay (both to and from Key West) all the more enjoyable.

The room was large and comfortable. The bed was perfect. The bathroom was small and there was no room to put one’s toiletries. The shower pressure was poor and the water temperature was not hot enough. The location was excellent and the breakfast restaurant was both convenient and hit the spot with great service and wonderful food.

The property is within walking distance of both the Islamorada Brewery and the Florida Keys brewery. Next to the hotel is Mangrove Mike’s Cafe which offers a very good breakfast. For lunch/dinner, the waterfront Lorelei Restaurant and Cabana Bar is within walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this hotel.

When I went to book the room there was not a handicapped accessible room. But when I checked in that is what we got. I did email the property and asked for a ground floor room stating why. So I was pleased to have gotten this. The is a great breakfast and lunch place Mangrove Mikes next door. Also Lorelei’s is a short walk and the have good food over looking the water.

You would never know it by the outside but this place is a gem!! Super clean, comfortable, nice big shower and the swimming pool was a nice bonus. We played the giant chess by the pool and they also had ping pong. The walk to lorelei's along the back road was safe and convenient, beautiful place to eat, drink and watch the sunset while listening to live music with your feet in the sand!! Would definitely stay here again! Very impressed!!
