Homewood Suites by Hilton Providence Downtown

Parking is very costly.

A very convenient place to stay, especially close to Brown University, making it easy to walk to campus. Parking, however, is not very convenient — you have to park in the public lot across the street, and the parking fees there are quite expensive.

Gave away our room with 2 queen beds, took almosy 1 hrs to check in since they were trying to find another room for us. Lost our car key for a couple hours so we thought our rental car was stolen,

The property was fine. Nothing special for sure. No pool or hot tub. Near the bus station that attracts some questionable folks. Overall ok, but would probably look to stay somewhere else next time in Providence. Price was fair.

It was loud from street noises. Lobby is up one floor. No self parking. Asked housekeeping for extra towels since tgey skip a day of cleaning, but never received clean towels. Did not have welcoming feeling.

Hotel is great. I think they were really busy during new year and the valet was a terrible one hour wait at check out. Also they lost the keys of my car and took an extra hour

I was so pleased as a single traveler for work to have such a nice large room with a kitchen, work space and perfect little living room area. I was there for a week and the comfort of good coffee and hot breakfast, along with a great air conditioned workout room, made my stay absolutely perfect! I will come again.

Property was nice and safe just wish valet was not so super expensive.. the daily breakfast was yummy and the staff was super helpful! Will come back again

This is a really great hotel! Location is very good- near the Amtrak (we walked to the hotel and back to the train) and near buses. We were in RI to tour Brown and PC and both are conveniently located near the hotel. Room was spacious and up to date. The hotel shuttle dropped us off at Brown and picked us up! We highly recommend Homewood Suites!!

My room felt a bit worn and wasn’t very clean. One of the elevators also had a strong smell, like someone had thrown up. I was there for four days and tried to avoid that elevator. The breakfast was great and the staff was very friendly.

Our stay at this hotel was just okay. Unfortunately, the room we were initially given had a strong mildew odor, which made it very uncomfortable. After the first night, we requested a room change. While the staff did accommodate our request and moved us to a better room, there was still a lingering smell—though not as overwhelming as the first. The room lacked some basic amenities such as a shower cap and a steamer, which was disappointing. Additionally, the cleanliness of both rooms could have been better. One positive note is that the day staff seemed more knowledgeable and helpful compared to the evening staff. Overall, while there were some redeeming qualities, I would likely not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Very clean property

The hotel staff were exceptionally warm and attentive. The room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with many practical amenities for travelers. The Wi-Fi signal in the room was excellent. I would be happy to stay here again on my next visit to Providence.

The floor when we walked in had a stain on it. Not professional or presentable. And I didn't like how there was only one trash barrel in the whole room we stayed in. The only other barrel was underneath the sink. I also didn't like that the sink was not in the bathroom itself, and the bathrrom was small, you should knock down a wall and make the sink in the bathroom, so it has a door to it also. I didn't like the fact that I needed to open the door just to wash my hands after using the bathroom.

The check in process was easy, our room was spotless, and very comfortable. The hotel is in a very walkable neighborhood. Will stay again!

Location is good. Sofa bed is not clean.

Room was immaculate and employees went above and beyond

The Homewood Suites in Providence was beautiful. The hotel was modern, the room was spotless, and the staff was all very kind and ready to help. The breakfast offered a lot of variety, with fresh eggs, waffles, and potatoes, among other standard continental breakfast offerings.

Motorcycles and cars drag racing after midnight! They were the winners over my White Noise machine and earplugs!!

Amazing Comfort

I liked the location and staff was helpful and friendly. My only complaint was the TV in the living room stopped working but there was another tv in the bedroom.

Valet was a bit of a struggle for drop off and picking up. Check in and out was super easy. Room was cozy. Bathroom lighting was extremely dim in the shower room. We stayed for a cheer competition. Was about a 7 or so min tomorrow. We walked to 7-11 to get some extra drinks and snacks and that area is super sketchy over there. Not the same way as the convention center

We had a great stay at this hotel. The area has many restaurant options within walking distance, a nice park down the street for our child, and overall stay was good. Being downtown, you will hear car noises during the night, so if you prefer quieter areas, this may not be for you. We were on the top floor and could hear the cars and music from outside. Additionally, the sofa bed mattress could be improved because not even our child wanted to sleep on it and ended sharing the bed with us. Otherwise, great stay, would go again!

Helpful staff. Clean, spacious room with everything you need. On the river and very walkable to bus station, Brown, and downtown.

This has to be the biggest non-suite hotel room I’ve ever been. I loved the space and the kitchen. Would love to come back.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. Had everything we could have possibly needed. Exceptionally clean. Living space was perfect and though we didn't use it, the kitchen appeared very conveniently set up. Desk and office work area was perfect as well.

We booked a king suite w pullout for one adult and two teens (advertised as sleeps 5) Upon arrival, mind you we were exhausted, we learned it was valet only parking $36. Oh well…. Checked in, get to room realize there are no sheets for the pullout. Notice the couch itself is in terrible sagging condition; Pull it out, it’s horrendous. Terribly thin and worn mattress w hardware jutting out in All directions There’s no way anyone is getting a nights sleep on that. Immediately return to customer service for remedy; different room? They offer Maintenace to look at it. Nope it’s 8pm how about a rollaway? She offers a rollaway for an additional charge. Adamant, no, the bed you offer in that room is beyond unacceptable , you need to fix it w/o additional charge. Apparently no managers available when I requested they come look at the furniture either. After .15 minutes holding my line, they reluctantly offered the rollaway at no charge; and it was the only solution. I just wish I didn’t have to be so assertive to get it especially when the sign on the counter explicitly states “if we’re unable to fix it, the cost of the stay is on us”. (Thus I saw after we resolved the issue, lol) It was an otherwise great stay which is why I usually choose Homewood suites on the road

The property called me the day I was checking in to tell me they overbooked and had no room for me. They put me in another property (farther from the train station) and without shuttle at 6:30am I had a longer walk which was not ideal. I always love staying at this property and have never had a hotel cancel on me the day of my check in. Disappointing.

From check-in on, desk staff, housekeeping staff, shuttle driver, all great.

The check in was horrible. One receptionist for a Saturday night check in. I was waiting in line for half an hour. Terrible. Other than that the room was excellent And I loved the movie night they have

The staff was amazing. Friendly. Couldn’t do enough for you. A well managed property. We were there for 3 nights and it met all our needs. The staff though made it a wonderful experience!!!

The manager team is not honest and willing to solve the problem

All hotel workers are in customer service. There's no reason why everyone working there should be greeting all customers with a smile and be willing to help make sure the customer's stay is awesome. The valet shouldn't checking his phone unless on break. The valet should also be as helpful as possible even helping to load luggage on a cart even if the customer is going to bring it up. He could also be cleaning the glass on all the doors to keep the area Hilton presentable. The elevators need new floors since the carpets are stained and not fresh. One elevator has some weird metal stand that should be removed since it serves no purpose. Dining service and food was very good although the helpers could be trained to offer help and smile more often. Our room was a 2 queen bed kitchen suite. Heating & cooling was very good. Mattresses were poor and the beds could be elevated more. There sould be a light in the tub area because it's very dim once you pull the curtain. The stainless steel appliances were not cleaned properly with stainless steel cleaner. Trash can in the bathroom should be at the sink not way down near the toilet. Front desk service was good but didn’t have that Hilton professional aire. I run a cleaning service and offer our customers terrific customer service. We just paid over $400 a night at this hotel but felt we surely didn’t receive $400 of customer service.

Our recent stay at Homewood Suites was so enjoyable! The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is welcoming, and the rooms are comfortable! It is an excellent place to be for one night or an extended stay!

Great placment if you are touring Brown or RISD. Great views. Near Kennedy Plaza if you want to explore the area.

This is an excellent location for Waterfire, which we could see from our room and access easily. Good strolls and delicious food all very nearby in the lovely downtown that is Providence. Would recommend!

Easily walkable to business HQ

Room was spacious and clean. Great for a multi-night stay. Staff was extremely helpful and hotel location was perfect for walking around the city and/or getting on the highway.

Easy on, easy off main highway yet quiet when it needed to be. Walkable to Providence Mall, RISD, and many restaurants and attractions. Breakfast provided to 10 AM.

Vent in my bathroom didn’t work, light on ceiling fan didn’t work, and the coffee machine for breakfast was broken so had to use the coffee in our rooms, which was gross.

Great location, lovely large room, easy check-in/out, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was not very good.. lukewarm tasteless and greasy food; no fresh fruit; whole fruits were old.

The breakfast remains the weak spot. Poor choice of dishes, quality of food is low. Its not hard to make a good basic breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, with continental add ons.
