Pros- Great area for walking, shopping, and eating. Corner rooms are big, my room was clean, and it had a view of Lake Michigan. Complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate available in the hotel lobby. Cons- You share the breakfast area, pool, gym, and laundry with the Hilton hotel connected to Home Suites and it gets REALLY crowded in those tight quarters during peak times. The pros outweighed the cons though and I would stay here again.

Mu friends and I really enjoyed staying here it was either walkable or we were able to use public transportation to get around. The only thing is I wasn’t aware there was no on site parking except valet, but theres a parking garage about a block away!

The pool was shut down for the first two days of our stay due to “sanitation” issues, which was a complete bummer to our children. Otherwise, the hotel was just OK. would stay again but probably won’t.

We enjoyed the suite style of the room. Having a full kitchen was so nice. Unfortunately, the hot tub was broken for our entire stay. One of the elevators was also down for most of the trip. When I would ask staff about the hot tub, they would act annoyed. We accidentally left an item in the room and it took two days, three phone calls (one unreturned message), and talking to several staff to get them to find it and send it to us via mail.

Great hotel, great location. We had a king suite with a pull out couch. Bed was comfy. Pull out bed was as what you would normally expect. Suite was a full kitchen, fridge, dishwasher and counter stove. Very nice. Only complaint was the lack of parking. You either pay for street parking (not many options) or have to pay valet. 70/day. You don’t have much choice.

Hotel was pretty good. I was there for nearly a week and after the second day one of the two elevators broke down for the remainder of the trip. I probably spent a solid 4-6h+ of my trip waiting for the single elevator to take me down or up. It was extremely frustrating.

The room was smaller than in most Homewoods. The main issue is that this hotel shares a pool with the Hilton Garden Inn (they’re connected) and there was never a time when the pool and hot tub weren’t full of screaming children. The hot tub alone had at least ten people in it, including toddlers. The breakfast was completely inedible and disgusting. All the bread products were frozen and the staff were taking everything away with a half hour left. If you don’t want to use the amenities then it’s a fine hotel.

The room was clean. However the room and the hotel felt old and stuffy! Furniture was old and chipped off wall paper was starting to peel off in the bathroom. Worst of all toilet was leaking water bad! Had to turn it off after each use to minimize water all over the floor! Sadly I didn’t want to change rooms for fear of get a worse situation!

The room was wore out needed some TLC it smelled like a wet dog and pee, when I talked to the staff they informed me that their dog friendly! We don't have a dog so I shouldn’t have to sleep in a room that smells like this. I was informed that it was a full hotel and they didn’t have any other room at this time.

My recent stay at Homewood Suites was extremely disappointing. Around midnight, my vehicle was valet parked and was damaged by the valet staff while being parked. We were notified of the damage, but the hotel refused to provide or share an incident report. When I tried to discuss the issue, the Assistant General Manager, Lorena, was rude, dismissive, and showed zero professionalism or accountability. On top of that, the hotel itself had a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the building, including the room. The entire property smelled bad and did not feel clean or well-maintained. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Between the poor service, lack of accountability, and uncomfortable environment, I would not recommend staying here. Management should seriously address both the customer service issues and the cleanliness of the property.

Our third time staying here. Love the proximity to the “L” and Michigan ave / museum campus. Starting to show some wear and tear. Had to switch rooms because the wallpaper was peeling and mold seen behind. Hot tub needs a deep clean. Staff seem burnt out and don’t answer the phone. Hate how the breakfast is all styrofoam and plastic. Shower pressure is not consistent. Overall the room size and view is worth the complaints listed above.

Dirty hotel! Very hot rooms! air conditioning did not work. Room booked for three people came with ONE bath towel and when we asked for more SEVERAL times they kept saying they would send some up then never did. Pool area is dirty and overrun with guests from two different hotels.

Breakfast was terrible. The buffet was dirty. Very limited options. I had blood soiled sheets, my pull out bed linen was dirt. Asked for manager and was told they haven’t been available for 3 days. Was told I could speak with general manager and waited over 30 minutes. No one came to talk to me. Zero accommodations were given. Customer service was terrible.

Check in was easy, and the staff was informative and nice. She gave me the option of the town or water view. Of course I wanted the water view. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to Lake Michigan, especially on a beautiful sunny day. It is a family friendly hotel, with a pool, and a small corner shop on the 1st floor for snacks and drinks. The location was within walking distance of Grant Park, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, and more. We came to experience the Taste of Chicago, and enjoy all the different cuisines they offered that we don’t have back home. Secondly, Homewood Suites has a restaurant attached. Called Leiya. It’s a delicious place for flavor Asian food. I spent $150 for 3-5 meals, vegetable fried rice, and fries. It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Now to the not so good part. The suite we stayed in had the bathroom in the bedroom, instead of the main area where we walk in. Guests had to go in and out of the private bedroom. It has a quaint kitchenette, with limited pots, pans, bowls, plates, etc. The room was pretty clean, but there was mold on the side of the bathtub/shower. For the price, it was disappointing. You will also need to pay for parking. The hotel does have a $70 valet fee per night. There is a public parking area in front of the hotel, and prices vary due to your needs.

Decent hotel. Nothing special. The pool was small and crowded every night. The breakfast area was crowded every morning. There isn’t enough space for everyone to make their breakfast, if it’s busy. Also there are not enough tables to sit and have breakfast, if it gets busy. Lastly, the shower in our room was having issues with pressure (the water would stop flowing for a bit and then come back). The last annoyance was a broken elevator (1 of 2 total). It made it really annoying to have to wait to go anywhere. There were lots of people on every floor waiting to get on….

Leaving an honest review: the room was good enough but not great. We were on the 11th floor. The view was beautiful, mostly on the right corner facing the Field Museum and park, as there was a large black thing on the rooftop of the building directly in front of our window. But loooved the big windows and view!! Furniture was not very comfortable, the kitchen lacked necessities like dish soap and a sponge to wash dishes without running the dishwasher. There were only 3 plates for a room that sleeps 6, so I constantly needed to wash things. There was 1 pot and 1 skillet which was all scratched up and the Teflon coating was peeling, which is highly toxic. So I only had 1 pan to work with basically. So that was an obstacle while trying to make a good meal for my family. Breakfast was fine, I guess. Super busy and very hard to find a table in the Lodge in the first weekend and week in October. We had to sit outside one of the days. But we did get there in the last half hour of the meal. My kids ate fruit loops each morning and I had the egg, potato and meat they served. So it was a win to have breakfast each day. Oh, and as an eco-friendly mom, I was disappointed with the use of the cheapest plastic dishes in the Lodge. Very wasteful and lots of BPA. Loved the block it was located on! Trader Joe’s was 3 min. walk away. Super easy access to the Field Museum, Planetarium etc. So overall, we had a good stay, buts it’s always all about the details.

Great location near many Chicago attractions. Spacious room with confortable beds. Free breakfast has good options. Pool and hot tub area very nice. Only negative is cost of parking.

View from our room was absolutely beautiful. Loved the beds and bathroom. Shower had great water pressure. TV was clean. Only complaint I’d say was the wifi didn’t permit certain streaming services to be accessed. We had issues with Hulu and Disney Plus. Otherwise an excellent hotel. Would stay again.

Hotel was clean, up to date and a nice kitchen area. However I would only not stay here again because of 2 reasons which I believe is crucial when staying in a hotel during vacation. First reason is, you can hear EVERYTHING from your room. Of course you’re gonna hear the outside parking and train. (Not a big deal) NO you can hear EVERYTHING going on out side your room. You could hear the elevator ring and people talking moms yelling at their kids. When you want to go back to the hotel to nap, you can’t. Everyone will wake you up. It’s loud. Not a soft talk no even my husband said, “sounds like our door is open”. Second reason is they don’t provide your bed with actually bedding/comforter. You get a sheet and a thicker sheet like thing. Was not warm at all. We had to use old ragity blankets that were sitting in the closet. Not the best ever. Also they had one elevator working. So during breakfast hour you’re waiting 10 plus minutes for the elevator. If you needed to run down to the lobby rq, you could not. It wasn’t a terrible experience, it was clean, a roof over our head, complimentary breakfast the “perks” of being in a hotel was not tangible here.

Check in was easy, and the staff was informative and nice. She gave me the option of the town or water view. Of course I wanted the water view. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to Lake Michigan, especially on a beautiful sunny day. It is a family friendly hotel, with a pool, and a small corner shop on the 1st floor for snacks and drinks. The location was within walking distance of Grant Park, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, and more. We came to experience the Taste of Chicago, and enjoy all the different cuisines they offered that we don’t have back home. Secondly, Homewood Suites has a restaurant attached. Called Leiya. It’s a delicious place for flavor Asian food. I spent $150 for 3-5 meals, vegetable fried rice, and fries. It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Now to the not so good part. The suite we stayed in had the bathroom in the bedroom, instead of the main area where we walk in. Guests had to go in and out of the private bedroom. It has a quaint kitchenette, with limited pots, pans, bowls, plates, etc. The room was pretty clean, but there was mold on the side of the bathtub/shower. For the price, it was disappointing. You will also need to pay for parking. The hotel does have a $70 valet fee per night. There is a public parking area in front of the hotel, and prices vary due to your needs.

We were there for a concert and we flew on the day off, we were very tired but Jason was so professional and kind for letting us check in early. We told him but we walk can around and come back if we can’t so that was a life safer. We were able to rest before the concert. The next day, we went down and ask if we could do a late checkout and Jason was gracious enough to extend our stay for an hour. I’m sure it’s case to case basis. I highly commend Jason for his gracious hospitality though the Front Office manager was outright disrespectful in front of me, the staff and other guests. Not acceptable!

The hotel offers many things they cannot honor… valet parking was full when we arrived, digital check in works but is useless because you need to go to the front desk to get a card for the elevators, and no one answers the phone at the front desk. I waited 1h30 over the phone and wasn’t able to reach them. Not worth the price.

My recent stay at Homewood Suites was extremely disappointing. Around midnight, my vehicle was valet parked and was damaged by the valet staff while being parked. We were notified of the damage, but the hotel refused to provide or share an incident report. When I tried to discuss the issue, the Assistant General Manager, Lorena, was rude, dismissive, and showed zero professionalism or accountability. On top of that, the hotel itself had a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the building, including the room. The entire property smelled bad and did not feel clean or well-maintained. This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Between the poor service, lack of accountability, and uncomfortable environment, I would not recommend staying here. Management should seriously address both the customer service issues and the cleanliness of the property.

Checking in was a really bad experience. Check-in time was 4pm. We arrived and we were told we could check in at 2pm but that didn’t happen. Our room was not ready until 5;30pm. The front desk was great with updates but it was housekeeping who didn’t accommodate us. Never apologized but argued with our request. Bad experience to the beginning of our trip.

Housekeeping staff was great, they greeted us every time we passed and if we needed something they brought it quickly. Otherwise, this hotel needs some major overhaul. Check in was awful, the gentleman who handled check in was even worse. And that ruined the entire weekend. He was rude, did not tell us about a large fee that was immediately charged to our card, nor explain that the elevator required a key card to use, and made us feel less than and unwelcome. When we asked about the fee, he actually huffed at us, and only said "it's charged to anyone who stays here", which would have been fine if we had been told about it beforehand or he had explained what it was for like we asked. He barely gave us the wi-fi information, the only information he did give, and shooed us on our way. Will never stay there again, or recommend anyone else does either.

I enjoyed our stay at this location. We didn’t have a rental car and only took public transit from the airport and our walk with luggage was literally a block when taking the blue and red lines. The location was perfect biking distance to things like millennium Park, The Boat Tours, and Navy Pier. The hotel was clean, staff was super friendly every encounter we had with them. The view from our room was absolutely stunning. We had continental breakfast and it was ok food just your average “hold me over til lunch” deal. We didn’t use the pool so we can’t speak on that. When we arrived we were able to leave our luggage with valet so we could explore until our check in time. But yeah 10/10 recommend.

Breakfast was meh. Had same standard hot food protein, potato and one form of egg. The hotel is clean and good for families. Pool was nice. Only bad thing was people above us were clearing very loud and having a party we complained to the front desk but the noise continued onto 1:00am in the morning. We are a family so it’s annoying not to be able to sleep. We were there three nights and only the last night it was bad.

Leaving an honest review: the room was good enough but not great. We were on the 11th floor. The view was beautiful, mostly on the right corner facing the Field Museum and park, as there was a large black thing on the rooftop of the building directly in front of our window. But loooved the big windows and view!! Furniture was not very comfortable, the kitchen lacked necessities like dish soap and a sponge to wash dishes without running the dishwasher. There were only 3 plates for a room that sleeps 6, so I constantly needed to wash things. There was 1 pot and 1 skillet which was all scratched up and the Teflon coating was peeling, which is highly toxic. So I only had 1 pan to work with basically. So that was an obstacle while trying to make a good meal for my family. Breakfast was fine, I guess. Super busy and very hard to find a table in the Lodge in the first weekend and week in October. We had to sit outside one of the days. But we did get there in the last half hour of the meal. My kids ate fruit loops each morning and I had the egg, potato and meat they served. So it was a win to have breakfast each day. Oh, and as an eco-friendly mom, I was disappointed with the use of the cheapest plastic dishes in the Lodge. Very wasteful and lots of BPA. Loved the block it was located on! Trader Joe’s was 3 min. walk away. Super easy access to the Field Museum, Planetarium etc. So overall, we had a good stay, buts it’s always all about the details.

This was a family-friendly property with breakfast available, and a Wednesday night social that I have never seen anywhere else! It was walkable from many attractions and that was a great plus for us (first time Chicago visitors). The pool and hot tub were fun as well! They offer valet only parking with 24-hour in and out privileges for $70 a night. Most cheaper options seemed to lock the car in without access for the duration, which would not have worked for us. The faucet made a loud honking noise and the hotel fixed it immediately after we mentioned it. Also, we did not find a room with 2 double beds for our family of 4 and while the sofa bed looked somewhat uncomfortable to me, the kids had no complaints!

You will also need to pay for parking. The hotel does have a $70 valet fee per night. There is a public parking area in front of the hotel, and prices vary due to your needs.
Check in was easy, and the staff was informative and nice. She gave me the option of the town or water view. Of course I wanted the water view. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to Lake Michigan, especially on a beautiful sunny day. It is a family friendly hotel, with a pool, and a small corner shop on the 1st floor for snacks and drinks. The location was within walking distance of Grant Park, Millenium Park, Navy Pier, and more. We came to experience the Taste of Chicago, and enjoy all the different cuisines they offered that we don’t have back home. Secondly, Homewood Suites has a restaurant attached. Called Leiya. It’s a delicious place for flavor Asian food. I spent $150 for 3-5 meals, vegetable fried rice, and fries. It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious. Now to the not so good part.
